The rooms were very clean and spacious. The main lobby was very comfortable and the free breakfast was a plus!
Clean atmosphere and friendly staff. And the complimentary breakfast was great!!
Always our first choice of where to stay when visiting Ann Arbor. The staff are extremely professional and go above and beyond.
The location was close to everything we needed plenty of food options. Hotel was clean and had all the accommodations i needed both for personal and business.
The front desk staff was so nice and it was clean and spacious
Nothing
Convenient location. Very large and comfortable rooms. Our room had 2 king beds and a sofa bed! Bathroom was spacious and functional
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic stay at the Hyatt in Ann Arbor! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great location and outstanding service—I would absolutely stay here again!
Hyatt Place has been my preferred spot to stay when I’m in Ann Arbor and this last visit wholly confirmed that. Kay was beyond helpful in finding me a room as I unexpectedly needed a place to stay the evening when I was in town. She was truly so kind and accommodating! The rooms are always stellar and clean, the hotel has a wonderful atmosphere and is in a great location. Such appreciation for Kay and her help and the whole team at Hyatt Place for always making it an excellent stay! Cannot recommend it enough.
Solid hotel for a short business stay. Great location close to University of Michigan. Plenty of on sight parking, easy check in with friendly staff. Hotel feels new and modern. Large lobby with a bar and a lot of lounge space to get work done. Fitness center is small but has everything you need for a quick workout. Pool is small but clean. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Nothing flashy but perfect for a business trip or school visit. Complimentary breakfast buffet is tasty and includes all the basics - juice, coffee, eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, cereal and more.
Always an incredible stay here. The staff are rewardingly accommodating every time I visit. Plenty of amenities and extra items incase you forget anything. Love the breakfast and went for an incredible swim in their indoor pool after:)
I had an outstanding stay at the Hyatt Place Ann Arbor. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with a modern design that made it both comfortable and relaxing. The lobby and bar area have a sleek, contemporary feel that creates a great first impression and provides a welcoming place to unwind. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff—they were genuinely friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of my stay was exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when I’m back in the area.
The room was spacious, clean, and cool. Full sized pillows, fridge in the room. Great seating area in the lobby for conversation and drinks. Located close to the expressway.
clean updated
Front desk super helpful and accommodating Spacious room Nice pool Great breakfast with Fresh fruit The front desk guy named Merit really helped us out and so was the very Helpful and kind lady
We stayed two nights so we could visit the University of Michigan and Michigan State (easy drive from Ann Arbor). The Hyatt Place went way above my expectations. It is a very clean, modern, classy place. The rooms are nice. The breakfast was great. The staff was polite and helpful. I would definitely stay again. I loved Ann Arbor!
I like the location because it’s near Black rock restaurants in the university and my client and my favorite produce stand.
On a business trip, this hotel is conveniently located to I-94 and other areas of interest. Rooms are large, good layout, comfortable and with good lighting. Very clean and everything was in nice, good working condition. Staff was very friendly and helpful too. One of my favorite Hyatt Places! Highly recommended.
Food was left in our room refrigerator. We put it by our door. Not only was it not picked up the following morning, it was there until at least 11:00 the day after. Other bags of trash were in the hallway for at least 15 hours. We have stayed there previously. The breakfast is of much lower quality.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The space was beautiful! And the breakfast was very nice!
The room was very warm. The AC was at 74 most of the time we were there. The AC was also very loud when it turned on and off.
I really appreciate that they have gluten free muffins at breakfast. Friendly staff, clean room. Was surprised how well the eco AC worked in the room!
breakfast was ok, not many options
did not like having to pay for parking, this is not normal
Very nice, clean hotel but front desk staff could be more helpful & friendlier. Charging $10 for parking should be included with room fee & they shouldn’t charge for one visit and not the other. Other surrounding hotels don’t charge that I have stayed in, this is not Chicago. When staying for 3 days housekeeping could do more then just replace with new towels if needed & it was needed! The bright side of this place the beds are comfortable and spacious rooms are very clean and beautiful set up when u walk in & greatly appreciated the late checkouts of no charge
Very clean and large room with very comfortable king beds.
Rooms were quiet.
Everything dated. No housekeeping or replenishment of towels or coffer after first day. Breakfast was mediocre.
I love the breakfast
The room is very clean
Clean and convenient to the university. Nice breakfast and overall good. Convenient parking.
Well…I know it was graduation weekend, but the nightly rate was slightly obscene. We booked over a year in advance and paid more for three nights than a week in most hotels. I know it is the norm, so nothing to be done. But really.
Great hotel property with a great location. Very friendly staff. The bar was busy and the bartender worked the crowd like she owned the joint - very efficient and made for a great stay!
Always a great experience at this hotel in Ann Arbor! There for my daughters graduation and just the best staff! Lovely lobby / waiting area- delicious breakfast and the freshest fruits served! Clean comfortable and decorated in maize and blue balloons and decor everywhere! Fresh coffee and hot water always available! Can’t beat this hotel when in Ann Arbor!
Nice upscale facility!
Guy who checked us in needs a job that he enjoys. Obviously this one isn’t.
Nice layout and clean.
I stayed at this hotel once for four nights and then a week later for eleven nights. The hotel seems newer. The rooms are clean and quiet, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was mediocre, with those weird powdered eggs. Some days it had more variety than others. The fitness center would have been nice if the equipment wasn’t so dirty. There was literal crust in the cup holders and on the pedals of the ellipticals. There was a spill in the stairwell at some point during my stay which was never cleaned up. The restaurant is spacious but the menu was very limited and basic, it’s more of a bar with snacks and not a place you would eat every night. Parking was $10/day which is just stupid for this nearly abandoned area of town. The location is poor, near a dying mall, some pretty terrible restaurants, and some office buildings, but it is near the freeway. Personally I found it ok for the shorter stay (which I was never charged parking for) but the on longer one was when I started noticing how dirty certain things were and how few amenities were nearby.
Close to campus Clean and has breakfast
Nothing
This is one of the nicest Hyatt Place properties I have seen. Large bar, lounge areas, nice pool, and several meeting rooms.
Clean
Clean and convenient
Our room door broke. They had to place us in another room. Multiple issues with the door keys as well.
We loved our stay. It was clean, free breakfast, pool, and my favorite... a later check out then most hotels. Short 7/8 min drive to UofM stadium and many restraunts.
Loud AC unit, but i feel most are.
I loved the decor in the rooms and lobby area as well as outside the elevators. Very nice and the lobby and food area was very inviting.
The parking lot was small.
It was nice and quiet area. Right outside of the campus boundaries for hash bash event.
Very small parking lot
I loved the size of the 2 king with sofa bed room. We’re a family of 5 with 2 dogs and the space was perfect for the value.
Would have loved to have microwaves closer since we were on the 5th floor and I would have loved to have coffee available all day but those aren’t issues overall. We had an amazing stay and said we would come back for our next visit!
The outside of the building could use a little upkeep. The rooms are beautiful. The pool is cold. Ask them to turn it off and they said the county controls that every wanting to bring family for a night of playing in the pool I don’t recommend this place. Restaurant doesn’t have many things to order.
Breakfast is fine. Location is also good.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and liked it very much. This time, under new management, things have changed. The water they used to welcome you with (2 small bottles) are gone. The public wall near the elevators (Third floor) is peeling. The body lotion in the room's bathroom was empty. When leaving, the staff member at the check-in desk felt that giving me a printed final bill was too much work for her. She insisted that was the job of Booking.com....
The lobby was nice.
The smell in our room smelled like mold. It permeated our clothing.
Great atmosphere, cleanliness, look
Breakfast was fine, not great
Breakfast was great! Room was so spacious and clean!
The beauty of it all from the decorations to the inside layout of the room The breakfast was great but wish they had other meat alternatives then pork sausage BUT over all 10/10
Nail clippings on floor I noticed
Supper clean
Room was good. Close to were we needed to go.
Breakfast was less than desired.
Good, clean, so comfortable and good size of the room. It was really nice place to stay. Unfortunately when we checked in lady didn’t tell anything about swimming pool, gym. In the room we had some coffee and tea but no information about price, when I asked they said if I used I need to pay for that but they didn’t say me a price.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. Nice shower. There is a bar in the lobby. Free breakfast. There are several bars and restaurants close. Some within walking distance.
The Hyatt Place is hands-down my favorite hotel in Ann Arbor. The interior is well-appointed and modern, staring with a sleek atrium lobby that features a library, a bar and plenty of space to relax. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet during each morning of my stay, especially the bagels and hot tea. The heated indoor pool is also a terrific amenity on cold Michigan winter days. I stayed here with three of my family members, and we found our room to be quite spacious. The beds are large and comfortable, making for a perfect night's sleep. I usually visit town to see sporting events (Go Blue!) and visit the nearby medical school campus. This hotel's location is perfect for both purposes. It is also not far from Kerrytown, an especially pleasant neighborhood of the city that is home to many good restaurants and small businesses. Overall, I could not recommend this Hyatt more. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Michigan.
The clean environment with helpful staff
The assessable had a bathtub and a shower.
Breakfast was decent, actually! There was a male employee cleaning it constantly, and we truly appreciated his efforts, but didn’t get his name!! He needs a raise!!
The pillows are awful!! Huge and just hard, don’t know why hotels get these, should have a couple of different ones in the armoire to make all travelers more comfortable.
It was good, rooms were clean and comfortable, allowed pets last minute. Check in was easy, location great for our purposes.
Booked for the pool and there were unattended children (5kids from 7-12ish) that were children of the staff and we could not use the pool safely with our grandson. It was the worst experience ever in a hotel pool.
Breakfast was very good. Fresh fruit and top products
TV had two bright spots at all times on the screen. Lack of streaming programming or music Chanel
I enjoyed the shower, bed quietness of the room. thank you so much
Charged me 50$ after saying I had not paid
It’s perfect for an easy stay in Ann Arbor
Nothing
Clean and comfortable.
I stayed here for three days during Christmas, and it is the cleanest hotel in the surrounding area. They take pride in their attention to detail, and it shows the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was exquisite and different every day.
Clean friendly
Shower water pressure
Clean
Breakfast was a great selection! Nice rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, clean facilities. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Easy check in and check out experience. Highly recommend.
A bit pricey for a Sunday night in my opinion, but I do feel it was a good value overall.
The only thing I “liked” was that it had last minute availability, because I had messed up another hotel reservation and found myself in Ann Arbor with no place to stay. Also, because I had asked the staff about the HVAC system - which I’m currently having redone at my own home, so I understand problematic ducting - they did NOT, presumably at their discretion, charge me $20 per hour late check out fee until I could find somewhere else to go.
Generic. The breakfast tasted…prefabricated. It’s a chain hotel, so I had low expectations…but I do drink fresh orange juice every day. This was not a delight. I love scrambled eggs…but they had…no flavor. (Luckily there was Tabasco sauce.) I was starting to wonder if maybe I myself was losing sense of taste, but later had an excellent meal in town. (I don’t think it’s me.) Probably the breakfast is produced by people who don’t care that much about food. What happens is that I had messed up a reservation at a boutique” hotel…and ended up at…clearly a chain (for the same price). The staff seemed…vaguely interested…clocking hours…basically doing their jobs but not very “present”. I had felt mislead, because, when I found myself in Detroit Airport…suddenly realizing that I did NOT have a room at one of the few boutique hotels in Ann Arbor, I scanned all of the photos of available hotels between DTW & Ann Arbor, I chose this hotel because the promotional images looked “cozy,” with bookshelves. When the cab drove up to….the same hotel I’d hated the first time I came to Ann Arbor, I kept asking them about driver if he hadn’t made a mistake. He hadn’t. This is a generic hotel with generic amenities and a noisy, but not very effective, HVAC system. I called the front desk in the middle of the night, because it was so noisy I couldn’t sleep, and staff offered to move me to another room. But the hallway was noisier than the room, and the next room the same. I’m now (one day later, at the hotel I thought I had originally booked. It is warm…but not noisy. I think this hotel needs to have HVAC rebalanced. A lot of noise, but the “fans” emit no air flow. I guess people stay at this hotel because it’s a convenient place next to sports amenities. And they probably are used to that. But I love hotels and the hospitality industry in general. I felt…misled by the promotional ”academic” photos on the website, and I think they should get a technician in to check HVAC.
Wonderful experience. Friendly front desk staff. Loved the UMich decor. Tasty breakfast. Appreciated that I was provided with a late checkout.
The air conditioning was soo loud couldn’t sleep.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. I was charged twice for my stay, and the hotel was unresponsive to credit one of the charges. It was established that the error was not on my end but rather the person who checked me in. I made ten calls to this property to get the issue resolved without a return call from the manager, Amario. I travel for a living and stay in hotels 125 nights a year, including Hyatt. The lack of responsiveness to this issue they created is mind-boggling. Avoid this property at all costs. Hotels are in the hospitality business. Nothing hospitable about this property. For the record, this was a hockey trip, and our team booked 40 room nights. Between those numbers over the course of a season, along with my team of 58, it amazes me how much business a company like Hyatt is willing to lose by not doing the right thing.
I have been going to this location for business for 5 years. I have had a few bad experiences there but I never complained. This visit they billed me for a no call for a day even though I was there and checked in. Upon check in I asked for daily housekeeping, yet for 4 days no one came to clean or bring me new towels. I called 3 times to the front desk. Each day I came back from work I called the front desk and told them no one came. They said they left a message for the manager and told him to call me. I never received a call. After 5 years of travel there monthly I will never be back. They also billed my personal CC when they were suppose to charge the companies card. Very disappointing. Also the phone and air conditioner was not working.
my favorite place to stay in Ann Arbor
Loved the open spaces. The lobby was inviting and comfortable to sit in and meet with friends. The breakfast was hot and delicious with lots of options. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Need more doubles.
Our fridge was off when we arrived, I know it is to save money which is understandable, but if they know someone is occupying that room it would be nice if they could turn it on. Also the TV was a little confusing and when we called down to the desk they couldn't help us over the phone, however they did send someone up within a half hour to help.
