All hotels in New York are expensive - just a little frustrating
Bed bugs in room 400
Localização muito boa. Café da manhã bom e as pessoas eram atenciosos.
Estava tudo ok
Very good location and confortable for resting!
Was a water leak on the bathroom that was not corrected and was dirty under the beds.
Walking through the door it smells so amazing! The receptionist are so great! Helpful outgoing
Very clean
We saw mixed reviews on this hotel so were somewhat skeptical but the stay was good. Rooms and facility were very clean. Desk staff were kind and helpful. Shout out to Edwin, Charisma, and Miguel. Room was small but functional…as you would expect in a city where space is expensive. Room had a chic dorm room vibe. There was a whiteboard and built in cabinetry with inspirational sayings painted everywhere. Bathroom was ironically large and I like showers over tub combos in hotels…this was a stall. AC was broken in the lobby but temporary units were fine. Bar was good. Breakfast was expensive and the extra daily “convenience fee” got us nothing…really stupid for them to do this. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy but we felt safe overall. Exercise equipment in each room was a dumb idea but the shared exercise in the basement is quite nice. Got a good deal through Groupon so was an excellent value, despite the unnecessary daily fee.
The front desk was very kind and informative. Location was ideal for a concert at the Barclay center.
Stains on the bed sheets, the air conditioning was confusing to work, the space was small, and lobby was not really air conditioned.
I stayed July 31st - August 2nd, 2026 with my spouse. I typically stay at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge. I am upgraded with M lounge access due to my status. I am a very well traveled person. I travel basically every month for work or personal reasons. I am Platinum with Marriott, IHG and Hilton. Pros: The hotel is located in downtown Brooklyn. The subway station is a couple of blocks away. You can have easy access to get around. A key card is needed to access the hotel after 11 pm as well as use the elevators to access rooms, (a great safety feature). The Barclay Center, shopping and grocery stores are so within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel itself is updated. The staff are very pleasant. I had the balcony suite which included a king sized bed, Peloton bike, yoga equipment work out wall with resistance bands and a desk area with a white board. My room may have been the largest available. I'm not sure of the size of the standard rooms. For NYC my suite was a good size, specialty for 2 ppl. The ac had two settings on and auto. Due to being on the top floor, maybe the HVAC was not very good. The temp was set to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The ac was very loud and blew hard but took a long time to get the room cool. If we dropped it below 70, it stayed on for a very long time, which became annoying to here without TV noise to drown it out. The balcony had a table to seat 6 plus a line sofa. You could comfortably fit 10-15 ppl to socialize. Cons: There is no status recognition. The hotel is under staffed. For my stay, I had several events during each day indoors and outdoors in NYC summer heat (85+ each day). Therefore, I needed to shower and change each time I returned. There was 1 set of towels when we initially arrived. The hotel was sold out the night prior. My room was not ready when we arrived for early check in. This was a small mistake. My spouse called the front desk to request towels. A few moments later they called back to ask why we needed towels. He explained there was 1 set in the room. I showered and changed for the first event. We left and returned, no towels. We called back again and received 2 towels within an hour. We tipped and left a note the next day and had the proper amount of towels. We showered three times during the day and needed fresh towels by 9 pm. After 3 calls and a shift change, my husband walks to the front desk at 12:45 am to get the towels. The front desk clerk was the only one there. Of course she could not leave. The person who should have brought them didn't show up. At 1:20 am, the person who should have arrived hours before delivers more towels requested at 9 pm. Overall: This could have been a bad weekend or requested staff. If I was traveling for leisure with less demand, maybe I would stay here again, especially since it's secure. For my business travel, this would not work for me. Again the staff are lovely and hard working. The hotel is short staffed.
Very clean smelled amazing!

The ice machine didn’t work!
Loved the ambience. Very clean. Staff Very friendly and attentive.

The room is so cozy, the Air conditioner wasn't working for the 1st night which i had to complain with no air, the fridge leaking, no ice, and the fridge is not that cold , no bottle water in the room, the room has 2 large ropes and also the TV says smart tv which is not. To crown it all, the breakfast is so expensive. 1 tea bag is $4, which is ridiculous. I need my refund back. Not satisfied at all.
We just stayed here for 1 night to attend the WNBA at the Barclay. The front desk was very friendly upon check in and she was very helpful with directions to Barclay since we had not been there before. It is only a couple minute walk! So the location of this hotel was excellent for that. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable (had the best nights sleep). We had a great stay!
The location of the hotel was perfect very close by to transportation links. The staff in the hotel was super friendly. I’m very very helpful with any request. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The only issue that we have had is they have removed two lots of money from our account as a hold one amount has been returned the other has not. I’ve contacted the hotel as we were under the impression the hold was only $100 and I’m still waiting for a response. I find this very unprofessional as we left the hotel room as we found it would love a response.
situation de l hotel . proche du metro NEVINS STREET pour se rendre directement à Manhattan. Prix correct avec toutes les facilités . facilité pour rejoindre aéroport JFK tres rapidement . This is a great hotel. The hotel was clean and efficiently run. The staff were courteous and helpful. The manager Alicia was terrific. When we had a problem with our room she immediately offered us another one and even delivered the new room keys herself. Wonderful service. The hotel is conveniently located in Brooklyn close to Metro stations and the Barclays Center. I highly recommend.
Everything was ok
No coffee there
Clean room, really comfortable
The location
Only plus is the location if you need to be near Barclays Rooms are old and out dated Elevators are slow Staff isn’t friendly Room is dark Room is too basic Small room Hard pass
Location was excellent, staff was lovely
No breakfast included, and overall too expensive
נקי ונעים שירות טוב בר קפה נגיש 24/7
אהבנו הכל אולי שלא הייתה בריכה
I along with my family had a horrible stay at this hotel due to staff being inappropriate. I wrote a review about our trip to ny and our short stay here where Christopher sexually harassed my sister and then disrespected her. Rather then receive any kind of apology from the company the review keeps getting taken down and that’s fine I will be contacting corporate.
Easy to find, friendly staff. Roomy and comfy

This hotel is pretty bad. The location and room size are decent but other than that it is loud and in pretty bad shape. Our room was literally falling apart. The baseboard was broken in multiple places creating some exposed sharp edges, and there was baseboard/drywall residue on the ground. There's a very annoying/dangerous metal strip through the center of the floor as well. Tn top of all of this, the WiFi is atrocious and works maybe 30% of the time, constantly cutting in and out. The HVAC would also cycle between blowing hot and cold air no matter what temperature we set it to, which was very annoying. Room was loud and we could hear all sorts of street noise even though we were on the 9th floor.
Sehr sauberes kleines Zimmer, sehr guter Room, Service, nettes Personal am Empfang.
Es gab immer wieder Probleme mit dem Wi-Fi
I was on a business trip to New York for a whole month. I was placed in room 330 with my room attendant being Sangay. There was not a day I went by without knowing when my fresh sheets would come every Tuesday always having a fresh roll of toilet paper-along with fresh towels daily the trash never reached full because it was always taken out accordingly. I would 100% come back and stay in this hotel because of the service I received from Sangay. Along with the clean room, her personality and attitude towards her job made this day just that much more enjoyable and made a hotel feel morelike a home.
Clean, convenient location. Went to a concert at brooklyn paramount and it was only a 5 min walk away
Nothing!
The location was perfect & the staff was excellent. Kind & helpful.
Parts of the hotel were very nice, but many aspects need maintenance (broken door handles etc...).
I stayed at the 46 Never st location in Brooklyn. Other than the facility being stunning, the staff was even better if that is possible. They were caring, attentive, friendly, and very courteous. They made my stay fabulous and this hotel 🏨 is now my home away from home. I want to say extra thank you and gratitude to Miguel at the Front desk who is always going above and beyond. Also, Miss Charisma at the bar who is so easy to talk to, and is always there to make you feel seen and heard..
Location was good for what I needed (Brooklyn)
Was kind of "meh"...room was clean but kind of worn out. Same for hotel.
Close to everything ; staff very welcoming ; clean and compact room
Heat system in room little loud
Location was great. Food at the hotel was good.
The parking situation could have been explained better on the website.
I came here last minute . They were accommodating for a such a late check in. The room was clean and spacious. The work out equipment was an added touch. My complaints are small but serious. The bathroom is not private. The door doesn’t shut it slides and does not slide to shut completely. You can hear everything in there. Very embarrassing! It’s also right by the bed so GOD forbid. Also, the room doors are so thing I can literally hear the next room and when the go in and out the door slamming it. I couldn’t get good sleep. The location is good otherwise and you need to park in parking-lot/ valet they are the same to avoid tow it’s about 50 dollars in addition and room tax is pretty high . I only stayed for one night checked in around 11pm.
Apparently you can’t leave an honest review without the owners getting it removed so well try again. Stayed for a few days for an event with my young adult daughter. We usually stay at their sister hotel in the city but they were all booked so this hotel was recommended. The rooms were just ok and the beginning of our stay great. But the last 2 days we were given the nastiest attitude by their kitchen staff in particular Christopher who not only was very rude to us but also said something sexually advancing towards my daughter. The front desk staff were on their phones most of the time and very inattentive and I really didn’t think anything would come from me raising the issue especially being it was our last day. Moving forward just won’t be spending my money here especially at the rate ny hotels are going for.
The staff were immediately engaging and kind. They got me checking in quickly and made excellent suggestions for Korean BBQ restaurants nearby. Got to the room and it was neat, clean and cozy. The amenities in the room were above and beyond almost any hotel I've been to, and I travel for a living. The exercise equipment, yoga mat station and standing desk were wonderful and convenient. The Bathroom was just right, and the water pressure was great; even on the 11th floor. The view was great at that height. The bed was super comfortable and I was asleep in no time. Got a great night's sleep for a busy work day the next morning. I'd love to stay at this property again if I'm ever in town.
Not much to say here, as I really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I can think was that the breakfasts offered were pretty expensive, but looked good from what I saw of the other guests' orders. There was a self-checkout, that did make grab and go possible, but I didn't use the service.
We were attending a concert nearby and the location was perfect. The staff was great and the room was clean. Loved the extra security for the elevator.
Great space, however, throughout the night, you could hear other guests walking to and from the elevator, as well as what seemed like someone trying to get into their room. The entire time, it made me anxious because I could hear all the commotion while trying to sleep. I really didn't get much sleep and I had to work the next day.
Friendly staff
The cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom was pretty bad. There was black mildew on the grout and the body wash was chunky. The mechanism that keeps people from tampering with it was broken. One bottle was empty. I've stayed here a few times and never had these issues before

Our stay at Evens hotel in Brooklyn was wonderful. Our room attendant, Sangay was absolutely lovely! She is very detail-oriented and so kind. Our room was thoroughly cleaned and very comfortable. She definitely made our stay worthwhile. Thank you Sangay!
In general all was great. I had a great time with my family. I would go again and stay. Breakfast was great. Its 14 minutes away from my family's apt . Love the place
Great but everything is going up these days. The only thing is when the heat kicks on its kinda loud. You do have the train noise above you but I didnt mind.
Staff were helpful with transportation.
Dirty. Hallway carpet was really dirty. Elevator was dirty. Room desperately needed an upgrade. Floor was uneven, peeling and unfinished paint on walls, scanty bathroom amenities. Coffee machine in the lobby/restaurant was broken the whole 4 days we were there. Totally understand that a broken elevator (one of the 2 was down) can take weeks to repair but how hard is it to replace a coffee machine?
Location is excellent. Close to Nevins St. subway and a short walk to Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn Bridge, etc. I had breakfast in the lobby and it was excellent and quickly served.
Room decor was a bit dated.
The staff are very friendly, and the location was great for the Barclays Stadium. They had a bar and restaurant and small store. The beds are comfortable.
It was a decent price, the bathroom door was a slide out, the beds were small, very little walking space around the beds.
La ubicación
El ascensor estuvo dañado las 13 noches que estuve ahí . Estaban cortos de personal y no organizaron el cuarto todos los días . Todavía no he recibido el balance de mi cuenta .
Cool vibe , comfy beds , near Barclay Center
Wish they had Queen size rather than double beds .
Bon emplacement, chambres spacieuses
Chambres anciennes et sombres , extérieur de l hôtel très sombre et gris
The location
Definitely not a 4* hotel, would actually say it’s closer to 2. It’s dated, the room wasn’t throughly cleaned. Overpriced but I suppose they charge a premium due to location but certainly wouldn’t recommend.
The hotel required me to deposit 100$ everytime I checked in. I did 2 checkins because my schedule, which means 200$ deposit. 20 days after my check out, they havent had any response on that though I tried to contact.
Felt like a motel
Cleanliness, poor lighting, noisy
Convenient location Staff was accommodating and kind
Stupid little thing and no reflection on my stay but I'm a building contractor and all the wall plates are crooked So it's a personal idiosyncrasy with me because I'm in the trades But no reflection whatsoever on my comfort or ability to relax and enjoy myself
- good location - size of the room is a bit bigger than average ( probably bc we stay at the corner room), - night shift staff was nice but the daytime staff were different
- hundreds of room but only 1 lift, need to wait for a long time, - room is not clean and run-down - luggage storage after check out need to pay an extra fee - no free drinking water - price is expensive compare to what we got
Well staffed, clean
Incredibly noisy location. The 6 train goes directly underneath the hotel and rattles the rooms, the downtown Brooklyn corner has street noise, as in rowdy people, blasting music, sirens, etc. at night.
I deleted my previous 1-star review because the front desk service at this hotel was very good. I was traveling with my senior mother and our room was much too small for her to navigate (less than a foot from the edge of the bed to the bathroom). For $360/night I was surprised that there were no drawers to unpack and honestly there was hardly enough room to open our suitcases. The shower never quite got hot and the drain in our sink was clogged. We stayed in this room despite an offer to move us because it was easier for my mother to stay put. I will also add that the front desk compensated us and we felt well taken care of. The room just left a lot to be desired, especially for the price we were originally quoted.
The location was really about it. Close to subway and very walkable. All in all it was a very meh place for the price.
The photos are super deceptive. Lots of wear and tear. Pretty much every surface was scuffed stained. Not well maintained. The carpets were so gross.
Das Bett ist bequem. Fenster kann man einen Spalt öffnen. Gute Lage in Brooklyn.
The room was good, very comfy, if we could get to it. One elevator broken, the other always full, except for the day that one was broken too! For a very expensive hotel, the staff were 100% uninterested and dismissive, except Asif who was really helpful. Homeless people wandering in and begging from guests in the lobby. Fitness room is quite good, but probably unnecessary because of having to use the stairs all the time. Location is quite good, easy walk to subway, cafes, restaurants, laundry shops.
Out of two elevators only one working from day one. That one failed too. So for an entire day guests had to walk up and down 14 floors. Some elderly, children ... Stay away from this hotel!
The rooms are quite spacious by NYC standards, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bathroom shower could have been cleaner but the rest of the space was clean.
one of two elevators was out of service the entire weekend, creating ridiculously long waits. We were on the 10th floor and ended up taking the stairs twice.
Good location, reception staff friendly and helpful but Monique could do with a refresher course in face to face customer service. Only complaint is please clean the wall mounted soap dispensers…. old congealed discoloured soap is really off putting. All in all the hotel is a bit tired and in need of a freshen up decor wise but bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked and was welcome as it was unexpectedly hot in NYC. The highlight was Charisma, who matches her name perfectly. A delight in every way and we need more people like her in life. Uplifting and fun and a huge asset to this hotel. I just hope they pay her enough!!!
Clean room, kind staff.
Room was modern, clean, great shower products and water pressure. Comfortable bed with nice linens and pillows. Quiet on upper floor.
Staff great. Building not in good shape, esp elevators.
Great location.
Elevator don't work.
The room was good size, had everything I needed, including workout equipment and spacious. The check in was poor, I was told I would receive a call to let me know my room was ready, this didn't happen. One of the lifts was out of order for my entire stay and to get to my room after check in it took 18 minutes. No water in the room.
Only a single elevator works for 14 floors. Seems like this issue hasn’t been solved for months. To make matters worse this morning there was oil dripping down from the ceiling of the elevator.
No close by shops
Easy walk too Barclay Center
clean and comfortable room and great shampoo too :)
Check in was frustrating. Arrived right at 3 check in time. Was told room was not ready. No problem, we will wait. They schedule a shift change at check in time so girl working with us just left and no one knew we were waiting. Then a huge wedding party rolled in and got stuck behind them. Second elevator was out of service entire stay resulting in really long wait times to get up and down from room. Not a major issue, but for the price you pay it was a bit frustrating. Bed was really short too. Overall decent.
Overall we had a good experience at the Even Hotel for our first visit to NY. Entire Hotel and our room was very clean. Bathroom was a bit dated but VERY clean(most important). Towels were scratchy but clean and room service came daily and changed our sheets and tidied up the room and left the bathroom spotless, shower doors were spotless every day! King mattress and pillows were marvelously comfortable and the bedside charging station was a big win. Front lobby was lovely as was the guest lounge area. Staff was friendly and efficient. The evening bartender, Charisma, was outstanding! She made our stay extra fun for sure, despite the bar being out of many items our entire 4 night stay. There was a small outdoor space off the lounge that was quite lovely but the lock on the door malfunctioned so we were not able to get out there our final morning. A couple other things to note: only 1 elevator was working for our entire stay, fancy coffee machines weren't working and remote food ordering computers were down often. One more note - upon check in my initial bill did not reflect the "member" discount of near;y $500. When I brought this to their attention the front desk clerk was hesitant to research but the onshift manager stepped in immediately and resolved the issue explaining that sometimes when we book through a discount site like (Hotels.com) those prices don't transfer to the hotel. Across the street one block to right is Black Seed Bagels!! Really Delicious!!
Cleanliness in front lobby (especially behind check-in desk) was not great. Elevators were terrible, and the fan in the bathroom required maintenance. But great location in Brooklyn
Love this hotel for the location close to public transportation, the friendly staff, the amazing cooked-to-order breakfast, and the super comfy beds. I reduced 1 star for facilities because 1 of the 2 elevators was out of order causing a slight inconvenience. Rooms are clean and modern, with yoga mats, exercise bands, and standing desk. This is my go-to for work in Manhattan for all of the above combined with a reasonable price. I will return!
