Amara Guest

Das guest house wird von einer sehr lieben und aufmerksamen Familie vertrieben. Die Unterkunft hat eine sehr gute Lage und ist sauber. Das Frühstück wurde liebevoll angerichtet und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Außerdem war ein frühzeitiger Check in möglich.

La falta de aire en la habitación. Las ventanas deberían tener mosquiteras para dejarlas abiertas y que entrara el aire...sin los mosquitos que abundan al anochecer. Tuve que dejar puesto el ventilador de techo que hace mucho ruido. No tenía mando para el aire aondicionado. El colchón no es muy bueno. Se hunde en algunas partes. .

La ubicacion, estaba cerca de ma calle central y de la playa de mirissa

La habitacion, no estaba limpia , estaba descuidada, las sabanas geniaan manchas , la nevera no funcionaba y olia mal, tenia terraza.pero no podiamos estar porque los.monos intentaban robarnos todo.

The location is quite good, close to the beach and restaurants! There is a supermarket very near by! The owner was very kind and let us change the bedroom because of the noise.

The place is not exactly as shown in the pictures! The rooms are very basic and not so clean and it is in a very noisy road until after 11pm!

It’s family own guest house ,very clean ,host Mr Abe & Mrs pushpa is wonderful person,breakfast is good ,if you are looking for reasonable price & comfortable stay in mirissa this could be the best option,definitely you will not regret

It is a very nice, clean, and charming place to stay, located just 150 meters from the beach. It is close to the market, restaurants, and cafes. The place is run by a respectful family who are very warm and welcoming to their guests. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Mirissa

The room was reasonable

Very poor, not even a soap in the toilets, small towel, on the drain inside the shower there’s a potato, the shower is flooded with water while taking a shower but mostly it was the dishonesty - booking.com shows me a rate of 12$ while the owner asks for 14$, very hard to communicate and in general feels like someone is doing me a favour rather than be more welcoming.

Location was good

It was dirty - to the disgusting extend. Bedsheets were full of blood. We asked the hosts to change it but they didn’t have any clean bedsheets. Unfortunately we arrived during the night and couldn’t find any other stay. Didn’t sleep a single minute the entire night. Breakfast was some white toasts with butter.

La posizione è comodissima per raggiungere la spiaggia. I proprietari sono molto gentili e la camera era spaziosa, pulita e fresca grazie all’aria condizionata.

This guest house is located in a quiet area, very close to the beach and restaurants. The room was spacious with fan/Aircon combo. The room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable.The outside seating was lovely. Our hosts were a delightful older couple who looked after their guests well. Breakfast is a great bonus here. Highly recommend 👍

This is a really nice Home Stay and the couple owning it are incredibly warm and welcoming. They made us feel at home immediately and especially the lady and our son got a really great connection. It was actually sad to leave the place. The breakfast was really good and the location couldn't be better. It only takes a couple of minutes to reach the most central part of the beach where all the restaurants and sunbeds are. They also offer a very good contact for taxi service with a good price. We can really recommend this place!

This is exactly what you'd expect for the price. Its run by a lovely family who will give you plently of suggestions about the area and we're lovely enough to book our whale watching tour. Its clean, but not spotless as its obviously a very used property but if you're use to staying in or travelling hostel to hostel its more than suitable. Modern AC units and good shower/wash rooms large comfortable beds and in a great location for the beach and some great dining areas.

The bedding and bug nets could do with some improvements

Gospodarze bardzo mili i pomocni. Potrzebowaliśmy dodatkowej poduszki - została załatwiona, potrzebowaliśmy suszarki i szklanek również otrzymaliśmy. Jakość pokoju oceniam bardzo dobrze w stosunku do ceny. Śniadanie codzienne takie samo, jajko, tost i puchar owoców + kawa.

Troszkę dużo robactwa, ale po 3 tygodniach na Sri lance idzie się przyzwyczaić.

Hôtes très agréables ! Cependant la chambre et salle de bain aurait besoin d'un " refresh " , on entend pas mal la route à cause d'un carreau cassé et recollé avec du plastique et Scotch, qui bouge avec le vent et fait du bruit également. Le lit était par contre très confortable et la clime fonctionnait bien .

Die Lage der Anlage ist sehr zentral, nur wenige Minuten Fußweg zum Strand.

Wir hatten den hintersten Bungalow. Das Zimmer und Bad waren nicht sauber, der Kühlschrank eklig. Im Bad hat es an Wand und Fugen geschimmelt. Im Zimmer roch es modrig. Wir hatten einmal eine Kakerlake, die wurde beseitigt. Laundry war dort am teuersten von unserer gesamten Reise und kam mit Teppichkäfer im Kleid zurück. WLAN funktionierte schlecht. Das Frühstück bestand täglich aus hellem Toast mit Marmelade und etwas Obst. Schlussendlich sind wir nur 3 statt 4 Nächte geblieben, mussten jedoch 4 zahlen. Es gab kein Entgegenkommen.

Mukava paikka yöpymiseen. Majoituksen sijainti oli hyvä ja huone oli siisti. Majoituspaikan henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällinen ja auttavainen.

La ubicación perfecta, tiene aparcamiento.

La habitación no estaba muy limpia, no ponen sábanas. El baño cuando llegamos, q el chico abrió la puerta para enseñárnoslo está lleno de hormigas. Por fuera tiene muy buena pinta, pero una vez q entras dentro…… La foto que aparece en el anuncio es la casa del dueño, no el alojamiento de los huéspedes. El desayuno normal, pero te lo dan en una especie de “comedor” q está bastante lamentable. Están haciendo obras y quizás sea por eso que te lo dan allí pero podrían adecentarlo un poco.

Nos encantó el alojamiento, con buena ubicación, habitaciones muy amplia, buen desayuno, y encima lo que más nos gustó, con nevera en la habitación. Además personal super atento

Totally recommend Amara Guest. It's 3 min away from the beach, 2 min away from a big grocery story and surrounded by restaurants. The room was nice and clean with AC, fan and a fridge. The owners were very kind and helpful. They even shared with us fresh aloe vera for our sunburn :) We left our credit card in the room after check out and they contacted us immediately and helped us organize a card transport to another city. Great value for the price :)

The place is well located and the owner is lovely, its great if you want to support locals, but don't expect much. It's pretty basic and there is a high humidity smell in all rooms.

Wir wurden total herzlich empfangen, sodass man sich direkt wie zuhause fühlt. Die Unterkunft ist sauber und sehr zentral gelegen, sodass man zu Fuß alles gut erreicht. Die Gastgeber sind total lieb und hilfsbereit und haben viele Tipps für einen 🤍

Purtroppo la camera che ci è stata assegnata non era per niente pulita . Lenzuola e coprimaterasso con macchie visibili . Abbiamo chiesto di cambiarle e ce ne hanno messe altre ma non ridotte meglio. Inoltre abbiamo avuto difficoltà a comunicare con i gestori in quanto solo una persona parlava inglese

Posizione ottima. Zona perfetta di fronte la spiaggia principale di Mirissa con tantissimi ristoranti. Stanza grande e molto bella da fuori con tavolini e sedie. L'interno un po' sporco..Lenzuola e Asciugamani con macchie. Puzza di umido ma ci si può adattare per chi vuole...personale cordiale e di aiuto.

Good Wi-Fi, cozy little yard, and a good location.

Hygiene was terrible. The bathroom was so dirty it was unpleasant to enter. There wasn’t even a small piece of soap (we beeded to ask). The water heater barely worked, and the water pressure was very low. It felt like the bathroom had never been cleaned. The fridge was moldy and stained inside. The bed sheet had holes, the blanket too — with stains. Dust was everywhere. The AC remote was so dirty it took 3 antibacterial wipes to clean it. There were also a lot of small ants in the room. I understand it's the ground floor, and insects happen, but when ants crawl on the bed — that’s too much. Breakfast was basic — an omelet from one egg, tea/coffee, two toasts, jam/butter, and one banana. That’s okay, but the kitchen was extremely dirty — the floor, table, and tablecloth looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Probably we were unlucky with the room and they have rooms with better conditions. Maybe some people are okay with this kind of place, but for me, cleanliness is important. The place can be simple, but it must be clean. This was the worst place I’ve stayed at in a month of traveling around Sri Lanka.

Amara Guest is a true gem! The place is amazing, peaceful, and feels like home. Uncle, aunty, and Kumara are incredibly kind and take care of you like family. Their warmth and hospitality made the stay unforgettable. Will definitely be coming back!

Owner couple were kind. Sri Lankan breakfast included was yummy! The cooking lady was super kind! Free refilling of water is a plus! Location is close to bus stop and beach. There are many restaurants nearby. Walking distance to beach, harbour and coconut tree hill.

Bathroom could use some more ventilation
