The House 36

The staff were somewhat reserved (just smile a bit more :-), but well-intentioned.

Room and owner were both lovely, highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a quiet place to stay closer to the centre of Hoi An

Nothing

Perfect welcome, perfect room, perfect location. Book with your eyes closed

Very nice place Clean rooms and nice staff

The indian guests that stay there are very rude and loud

Comfortable beds and AC, the owner was very helpful

Everything in the bathroom was just covered in water sediment. There was poor water pressure and you either had lava hot or cold water. Provided glasses were in a bathroom, also with sediment, it ruined the mood a bit.

Friendly staff

The location is great. Highly recommended for it's value considering how close it is to the action. The family who runs it are very nice and helpful as well.

They were very cooperative and well mannered.

Towels were smelly.

We loved it. Great location, great price.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Always welcoming, this is the second time I've visited this establishment. The first time was alone for the Lantern Festival in April, and then I came back with a friend in May. The room was spotless ! We even booked a tour through them, which we recommended to others the following day. I highly recommend them :)

The location is pretty nice! The landlords are nice, but not the best English. The rooms and beds were nice enough. The water pressure was nice.

I felt that it was all a bit chaotically managed. I booked a room on here with a bathtub but then only received a room with a bathtub after some arguing and the host considered it as a "free upgrade" that I should be grateful for. I'm sure this page said there are free bikes with the property, the bikes actually weren't free but super cheap so it's ok, but a lot of inconsistent information.

Great location a short walk into old town but away from the chaos. Still some noise of traffic from the street which can't be helped. Comfortable room. Air con and hot water. Bathtub was a great plus after months of travel. Nice host.

A1

Very helpful in every way. Advice, booking trips, good information all around and a very friendly lady of the house. We got invited for breakfast during the Têt holidays. Felt like part of the family

None what so ever

Very helpful and friendly people. Our room was very comfortable and everything was clean and worked. They organised tours, bicycles and transfers for us. Kind and good value.

Location

Owner not reliable, smartly changed price on the fly on booking while I was booking second night on site, we called booking.com bit nothing could be done to help. More over owner cancelled our booking reservation after we spend the night there! To avoid fees that actually charged us with. I had to become vocal to return me the fee in cash... The owner was not smart enough on this one as we returned to pickup our luggage's otherwise he would have had cashed the booking fees in instead of booking platform. I do not recommend this hotel not serious and dishonest.

Great value for money. The owner was very helpful with everything. Downsides for us was there was no duvet or sheet to cover us sleeping at night apart from a very heavy blanket, and the main bedroom door is a frosted window so the hall light kept our room lit up at night.

Very good location close to the center. Clean and spacious rooms, good a/c, nice big shower/toilet with proper hot shower, generally quiet place, free water refill, nice hosts.

Blankets were a bit too warm for the season, but not a major issue. Be aware that host might sometimes sleep on the groundfloor next to the kitchen, not an issue just info.

good location, the rooms were clean and staff were friendly. nice shower

I was amazed by the quality of the room! It's walking distance from the Old Town and the staff are very friendly. The price was exceptional!

The owner is amazing us the staff, the place perfect. We also rent the bikes and was nice go around Hoi An. We was really happy in this place and we really recommend 🤩

The House 36 was a very pleasant stay. Thanh accommodated our every need and was always super friendly and happy to help with anything. The location was great - just a short walk into the old town and close to many restaurants and bars. The rooms were super comfy and the showers were great!

Nothing :)

Lovely staff

It is located in a quiet location, and it is like home to me.... very relaxing there.

The location was great, Market area was nearby. They provide cycles and motorbikes as well for our convenience.

Really good hostel. Good location and good room.

There's no sheets in the room, there is just a blanket

Best place for stay. Love it.❤️

The location was good.

When we arrived at the hotel, the owner told us that our room was occupied. She can give us another room but we have to pay more. If we don't want that, we can cancel the reservation. We told her that we walked all the way from the bus station to her hotel, but she told us that we either have to pay more or cancel the reservation. This was extremely rude. We ended up paying more because we didn't want to walk to another location. This situation affected our entire stay, and we didn't even do our laundry at their hotel, but took it to another place near their hotel. I think it is important that all other guests know how rude and unhelpful the owner is.

great rooms, bath was great

nothing

The House 36 provides all you will need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay while in Hoi An. Clean, quite, safe, fridge, nicely furnished with spacious bathroom, river views, and is run by a friendly and sweet Vietnamese English speaking family. Walkable to all the sites Hoi An has to offer.

Genuinely the nicest people I have had the pleasure of dealing with in Vietnam. I had covid during my stay and was in quite a bad way but there was absolutely nothing more they could have done for me. Nothing I asked was ever too much. They looked after me with such thoughtfulness. It felt lucky to have stayed here in the circumstances.

This hotel can’t use credit card.

It was comfortable and well decorated.

I liked the room and the decoration.

They shoul give bed sheets (not only the blanket).

hôtel au calme proche centre ville chambre superbe

Chủ khách sạn cần check thông tin yêu cầu phòng của khách hàng trước khi giao phòng, mình đặt phòng giường đôi nhưng giao phòng 2 giường đơn.

Fantastic stay in a clean, warm, and friendly establishment - and a skip away from everything at a very low price

Pierre

Wonderful

We stay in Hoi An once a month, and this time all our "regular" places were fully booked, so we had to try something new The good: - The House 36 is located centrally (approximately 5-minute walk to ancient town) - Fairly new construction, so everything works, looks clean.etc. The BAD: - Unlike most homestays in Hoi An, these owner(s) make it very clear that the house is primarily their living quarters. This results in them telling you to move away from a table the family intends to use, and the male owner taking off his pants and napping on floor by the entrance in his underwear - I witnessed a woman trying to check-in based on a confirmed reservation, only to be rudely turned away after being lectured that the place was fully booked, and that it is not her fault the reservation was confirmed. She was left waiting with no further comments, suggestion, glass of water, etc. for at least 30 minutes. - Although "free toiletries" are listed as a "feel at home" feature, they are not provided. When asked, the owner(s) refer their guests to a nearby mini mart with the comment "we are not a hotel...you have to buy these things". (also no complimentary water, tea bags, etc.) - The "free breakfast" was not included in our case. We waited until 7:45 a.m. but there was nobody onsite to serve us. When asking the owner about the breakfast later she hysterically yelled at us, accusing us of asking so much, and that we have no idea how much it cost to build the place!!!

Halpa hotelli ja palvelutaso sen mukainen. En ymmärrä miksi hotelli saanut niin hyvät arvostelut. Huone hyvännäköinen mutta ei kestä lähempää tarkastelua. Kylpyhuone siivoamatta, suihkutilassa homeongelmia, siisteys muutenkin huono vaikka kengillä meno yläkerroksiin kielletty. Naapurissa rakennetaan ja liikenteen meteli herättävät varmasti viimeistään ennen klo 7. Aamiainen todella minimi. Palvelu hieman tympeää vaikka juna-asemalle järjestyi tosi edullinen kimppakyyti. Sijainti ihan hyvä lähellä ravintoloita ja muinaista kaupunkia. En mene uudestaan.

Bit hard to find and not many locals knew where it was either. Room was very spacious and had a good balcony with a view of the river but overlooked a dirty garden. Short walk to old town with all the bars and restaurants. Staff left us to our own which was fine, happened to arrive when they were having a party but didnt bother us. They locked the doors early but had a guy sleeping in the doorway to let us in. The door to hallway was glass and there was a light on all night which was a pain. Overall a decent hotel for the price.

Great modern hotel, room was amazing with balcony, large bed, cable tv and an incredible bath & shower. Only drawback is this property is a touch hard to find as it doesn't have a sign as it's a small hotel/b & b with only 6 rooms I believe. Breakfast was great also.

Nice and clean - bed was okay - supplied us with two pillows and a thin blanket but was a overall good stay. Would recommend it! They had a safe and the view was okay. It was quiet and nice. The shower was great! Was able to have more than a five minute hot shower without it been cutting out. This place saved me I felt refreshed after staying here

Amazing!! The hotel is lovely and the room is so luxurious for the price. The whole hotel is kept super clean, rooms cleaned daily. The cooked to order breakfast was delicious, with a great range of choices. Great location - Just 5-10 minutes walk to the old town and to the popular bars & restaurants...but still in a nice, quiet location. The highlight though, by far, was the owners. The family that run the hotel are incredible!!! I stayed for 5 nights during the floods and on my last day, with the flood up to our knees on the ground floor of the hotel, the owner brought me breakfast to my bedroom and arranged for me to be collected by boat at the front door so that I could get my bus on time and safe. Unbelievable! Thank you!

Our room was nice and cozy and everything looked new. The bed and pillows were nice too! It was a little hard to find the hotel since it wasn't on Google maps and there isn't a telephone number for the hotel listed anywhere. There's also no sign outside. Luckily I could find it on the mapsme app. The location was good, it's a little of a walk but it's close to the Hoi An nightmarket. Also for the price of the room was worth staying a little further. I would definitely stay here again!

Great place, great price! Everything was very new and clean, great bathroom with tub. Basically a big house converted into a hotel, run by a family. Very friendly & helpful, emailed me after I booked to see if I wanted them to arrange a ride from the Da Nang airport, which is over half an hour away (took them up on the offer), also arranged a day trip to see the Mi Son ruins. Located just down the road from "ancient city", very short walk to the action but separated enough to relax. Highly recommend!

hoi an is a wonderful place with good food, quaint and peaceful options as well as more ambitious activities. a great balance. to go along with the town, I stayed in the nicest hotel yet.

Loved this hotel! After searching all day for a nice, yet reasonably priced hotel, we booked Hotel 36 and were so glad with the staff and room! New and clean room in the perfect location (just 2 blocks from ancient town) with daily housekeeping and friendly English-speaking staff. Wanted to stay longer than 3 days just for the comfort of the room!

When we arrived we found that the hotel had no vacancy but the owner arranged another hotel and paid for the taxi which was very nice.

Actually we stayed a night based on TripAdvisor reviews. Not easy to find here coz nothing hotel name signboard on outside. The people doesn't spk english but that's ok to understand. Either Inside of room was really nice and even bathroom too. But that's all coz we've never guessed to hurt by a lots of bed bugs a whole night. We didn't slept also when we got up on morning, a lots of my bloody points on the bed by their death from my weight. A ttl 100times of bitten by bed bugs. Now i stll feel strongly painful during a week even spent expensive cost for cure them. I never visit here also i lost a lots of things n my mind from a night staying here.

the room was way too nice that we even don't want to leave

God morgenmad.

Service is good, host is nice and helpful.

We arrived late, and they gave us the room we prebooked. Room was dirty, used towels on the floor, garbage was full. In the morning we woke up at 7 due to terrible hammaer sounds. Of course there is a construction site next door. At breakfast we complaint, and they barely said sorry. Really bad service, wouldn't recommend despite the good location and nice room amenities.

The room was comfortable and cold. The neighbourhood was very noisy and kept us awake at 5am, very hard to sleep if you are a light sleeper! But this wasn't the hotels fault, it was next door. You had to pay to use the bikes, nearly all hotels in hoi an give you free books. Hotel was secure and safe. Very close to old town. Laundry service was good and cheap. Hotel was very clean and smelled nice and fresh

The staff was really friendly and was able to accomodate us to stay more nights than what was planned! The bed is really comfortable and the roome gives a great view of the river! Of course, if you come with a friend you might be uncomfortable to go in the bathroom because it's a glass... Be that didn't really bother us so we recommend!:)

Really nice hotel, the room was really clean and everything looked new. Hotel owners are really friendly and welcoming. Very close to the Old Town so there is plenty to do within walking distance. Highly recommend.

It's in a good location close to everything but far enough that you don't hear the noise. Staff are lovely and are willing to help with any tours or tickets. The rooms are very clean and modern. The bathroom is very nice, great shower. Definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Hoi an

Great place to stay! Everything is very new and nice! One of the best places we stayed in. The location (next to the river) is amazing for getting to most of the normal tourist stuff in town. The extremely cheap beer in the backpacker area is a bit of a walk, but still fine. The immediate surroundings are quiet at night. Breakfast is good. You order off a menu (standard choices) and it's cooked to order (leave some time). Juices are freshly squeezed. One minor item: The pillows are new and smell rubbery.

Very modern rooms, good location for n a quiet area, good breakfast, service not the best. Bathrooms have a glass door so could be a problem for some

Very new hotel, good rooms with a nice balcony, good WiFi, bathrooms have a glass door so not ideal if sharing with friends. Trips and buses are very expensive much cheaper in the city. Didn't feel trusted by the staff, felt like they just wanted to make money out of us.

Beautiful room. Everything seemed brand new & very clean. The bathroom was very large and had a great bathtub. Very comfortable bed & pillows. Nice view of the river from the balcony. Wifi worked great. Short 5 minute walk down along the river to Ancient Town. The owners were wonderful :) Would definitely stay again in the future!

The morning staff were very helpful and arranged an Easy Rider moto driver for the Hai Van Pass n the airport at a very reasonable rate. They also gave me help to work out a great bike route for myself. The House 36 is a good option if you're looking for convenience & cleanliness! The hotel is newly built and has a modern style. It's located within a block of the old town and they have bikes that you can hire to get around to the other sites in the region.
