Very comfortable and good value for money

Location for breakfast. I was seated in the bar area rather than the main restaurant. Bothered by a badly controlled dog that was allowed to sniff at my table looking for food

Staff were freindly and helpful. Everything was very good. Ideal location.

The rooms are comfortable and clean and fulfilled our needs for our stay. The selection and quality of breakfast was excellent.

Not only was the room nice as a single, but both my dinner and breakfast were excellent!

The parking lot was entered from a different side than the address, so it was a little confusing as to where to park when I arrived. Perhaps that could be explained better in the listing.

Convenient for what we needed to do in Alnwick centre. Free parking and very helpful and polite staff. Would happily stay again and recommend

Schönes Hotel, allerdings direkt am Kreisel. Somit laut und viel Verkehr. Ansonsten hübsches Zimmer.

Unser Zimmer war ein bisschen dunkel, durch ein kleines Fenster und es war schon sehr laut durch die Straße.

Die Zimmer waren gut ausgestattet, auch mit Ventilator für heiße Sommernächte. Auch der Parkplatz war gut zu finden und ein Stellplatz auch.

Leider sind in eins unser gebuchten Zimmer gelegentlich Essensgerüche der Küche reingezogen.

Overall it was a comfortable room.

Getting up the stairs with our bags was not the easiest thing. We found the room to be too hot. Had to run the ceiling fan all night.

Pillows were not good

We only stayed for one night in a quadruple room, and it was a pleasant stay overall. The location is good, close to the town centre, and having parking available was a real bonus. We also really enjoyed the very good breakfast.

We could hear a little noise from the street, but it was not a deal-breaker and did not take away from the overall experience.

Mu daugther forgot the shoes in the hotel. We called and we received one week later the shoes in Spain. Thanks a lot for your attention and diligence

Unfortunately the climate change is here and the hotels need to install in the rooms air conditioning.

I had a single room above the kitchen and a Very noise fan was switched on at 6.30am. I had to get up and ready thd. As there.was no way I could have any further sleep. Awful!!!

Goed en gezellig hotel. Ruime vier persoons kamer(familiekamer) alles aanwezig. Douche en toilet ook goed. Op loopafstand van kasteel centrum en een beroemde tweede hands boeken zaak. Restaurant/pub had een goeie kaart. En het eten was goed.

Bed was not comfortable Parking was a nightmare with people eating there Breakfast was a disaster no service , no coffee ,no breakfast until I piped up then she said do you want a second coffee I hadn't had the first nor breakfast this really let it down with the waitress muttering under her breath

We had a family room with 1 king and 2 singles. It was a large room with plenty of space and comfy beds. There was a gret selection at breakfast of cereals,toast, pastries, yoghurt and fruit you could help yourself to- and a full menu of hot food. Staff were very friendly.

Very comfortable room. The breakfast, served in the pub, was very good, just as the dinner. the staff is helpful and kind and the position is perfect, conveniently located just outside the centre of Alnwick, which can be reached with a short walk. the parking space is very convenient and despite the presence of the pub the room was very quiet.

Lighting in the bedroom was a bit too dull for reading.

I suffer from coeliac disease and they had glutton free products which was great for me as cannot eat products with wheat etc

Bathroom was somewhat dated. Bathroom door wouldn’t close properly and hot tap needed adjustment.

Heel schoon en netjes hotel. Het ontbijt was prima. Ook gedineerd in het hotel. Dat viel een beetje tegen. Locatie was perfect voor een bezoek aan Alnwick Castle.

Er waren geen faciliteiten voor kinderen.

We spent a lovely three nights at The Oaks. Breakfast each morning was well presented and very tasty. We ate dinner at the hotel one evening and it was delicious.

Freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstück, Rezeption knapp aber höflich. Parklplätze vorhanden.

Hitzewelle war schon einige Tage vorbei, Zimmer trotzdem heiß und stickig und nicht gelüftet (was soll der eingeschaltete Ventilator bei geschlossenem Fenster bringen?). Vor dem Fenster Abluftrohr der Küche, d.h. es stinkt und ist laut, wenn man das Fenster zum Lüften öffnet. Zimmer war ein dunkles Loch, da hilft auch der günstige Preis nichts.

The lighting in the room: the main electric lights in the room had bulbs giving a harsh white light, and the bedside lamps worked and were pleasant but we could no longer set their directions correctly because the fixtures were damaged.

It was in a very good location, near Barter Books. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were amazing and all the staff were so friendly, they made you feel like you’ve known them all your life and felt like good friends.

It’s on a main road and was a bit noisy at night.

My room was on its own, next to some sort of exit, above the kitchen and was extremely noisy, even during night. If I had had a longer stay, I would have requested another room or gone elsewhere. I stuck it out as it was only 2 nights. Nothing wrong with the room itself, just the noise.

Breakfast was lacking in variety with a very limited choice on the non cooked items. The room was adequate but the whole hotel could do with refurbishing. Paint chipped off in many places door to room hard to open. Bathroom definitely needs refurbishing. Bath too high to easily climb into over bath shower. Walk in shower would be a definite improvement.

Bathroom and cleaning was not thorough, sink left with dirty marks in it.

The Oaks was perfect for our overnight stay to break our journey north. Rooms were really lovely, spacious and comfy beds. Spotlessly clean and nice decor. Breakfast was also great with a lot of choice and set us up for our day ahead.

I opted for the veggie breakfast whilst my husband had the full English. He said it was a bit overly salty for him. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

Staff were wonderful, credit to the owner. So friendly, so helpful when needed. Jen coming out to help me particularly so, after very bad accident prevented me entering Alnwick on the hotel road - satnav not redirecting as usually does!

Only thing was lasagne I ordered for dinner. Lasagne without a tomato sauce?!

We enjoyed our stay @ The Oaks, it was within walking distance to the town centre & a short drive to surrounding towns. All the staff were really pleasant & helpful.

The only thing I would suggest is new pillows!

The Room we stayed in seemed a bit dark, the furniture was made of some sort of metal so was noisy. Toilet took a bit of flushing and sink tap could do with replacing as it leaked from the back & started trickling down the floor. Pillows were quite thin also. I think the most irritating thing for me was the gap round the room door, the lights in the hallway were on through the night and this effected my sleep.

Large bedroom and bathroom. Lovely toiletries provided. Staff very friendly and helpful at reception. Staff showed us to our room. Fan in bedroom was very necessary and welcome as room was very hot. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal very good too. As an arachnophobic I usually find cobwebs and spiders in uncleaned corners but this place was exceptionally clean. Powerful shower, soft and fluffy towels. 5 minutes walk from Barter Books. Would stay again.

One of our single beds was creaky and uncomfortable, needs replacing. Pillows not very comfortable. Occasional noise heard in room, also during night (sounded like a macerator).

The hotel is a real "gem". The staff were friendly, efficient and super helpful. The food was superb, especially the pork belly and the Sunday roast dinner. The location perfectly placed for exploring the area. The rooms were very comfortable. It was a hot day and a member of staff already had the fan on, ready for my arrival. The hotel is a credit to all that work in it. Definitely recommended it.

Disappointed in the bathrooms very drab and depressing. The rooms had been done up a bit mainly a feature around the bed wall. For the money was disappointing. One older waitress wasn’t very friendly, a bit abrupt and rude. Other staff were okay though. Beer and Guinness had run out. The dining area needs a make over

Lovely hotel really nice garden and pub. Family room was massive, comfortable and well presented. Staff very friendly and excellent location for Alnwick. Wish it was my local!!

You could hear other guests walking around in the night. No fault of the pub really. Vegetarian breakfast could be improved.

A comfortable, clean and good sized room. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - couldn't do enough to help us. Breakfast as small or as big as we wanted - very high quality ingredients. Also had Sunday Lunch with friends - outstanding!

Would have liked to be slightly closer to the centre of Alnwick - but the walk home gave us an appetite and the walk into town nicely worked off some calories.

Breakfast was very nice and cooked to order, we had a large room in annex.

Wi fi in annex was a little slow at times but this was a minor thing and would stay again at this hotel

Great spot, delicious food, very good bed. Simply one of the best hotels (well maybe the best one) in the UK we've ever stayed. Quiet although it's placed at the roundabout. Alnwick downtown (including gardens and castle) reachable in 10 minutes by walking.
