It’s a little run down & needs upgrading like new mattresses, interior decor & a few more kitchen utensils.

Good day Maryna We stayed at this self-catering accommodation for the first time this past weekend, and overall we had a lovely stay. The place is beautiful, neat, peaceful and well looked after. The hosts were also very accommodating and kindly allowed us to check in earlier on Saturday, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, the electricity went off on Sunday at around 15:00 and only came back after we had checked out on Monday. This meant that we had no electricity, heating or hot water during a very cold and rainy evening and night. We were only provided with two candles, which unfortunately wasn't enough to make the situation comfortable. We understand that weather-related power interruptions are not always within the accommodation's control, but we feel that having a better backup option, such as additional candles, rechargeable lights, blankets or an alternative heating solution, would make a big difference for guests during unexpected outages. Despite this, we did enjoy the accommodation itself and would consider staying again. Kind regards, Monique

The venue was self catering, and very well equipped, with tea and coffee sachets, kitchen equipment and very comfortable towels and bedding.

I would suggest a salt and pepper cellar.

Everything looks dated and not much to do. Even the pool table was battered. Showers was blocked

The beds were very comfortable. Everything you needed was included like towels, toilet paper, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, microwave. Also 2 bathrooms per chalet.

Location for my road trip was perfect, stunning views. Peaceful surroundings

Just the shower drain seemed blocked or draining was slow

The tranquility,the views it was breath taking.

The inside of unit were outdated,one matress were flimsy and the toilet of one of the rooms were not working properly.

Nice and comfortable. Family friendly. The host Maryna is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for your hospitality!

The apartment was very nice and we loved the jacuzzi and warm water indoor pool.

A bit of attention to detail.. especially for the honeymoon suit. There’s candle holders but all candles were used. We didn’t think its necessary to bring as its a honeymoon suit. No champagne glasses, we had to use wine glasses and perhaps add a hairdryer to the room. We didn’t see the pamper goodies as mention on the web.

Perfect peaceful hideaway. The sounds of nature all around you makes you feel like you’ve escaped to another world entirely. The pictures on the site don’t do the views justice. Very comfortable big chalet with all the needed amenities.

I would of liked a shower but no other complaints

Wish pool was bigger

Pretty view. Big unit. Heated communal pool. Bit outdated, management very helpful.

According to the photos on Booking.com I expected something very different. One fan for the unit was definitely not enough. Our unit did not have an inside braai facility so we had to braai outside during the rain and used our beach umbrella to shelter from the rain. Management did ask if they could move us but by then we were all packed out. Perhaps disclose this BEFORE booking a unit for someone?

The owners are amazing, the location is beautiful.

The fitting and finishings are visibly dated, things like a loose tap in the basin and hole in the bedroom door from an ineffective door stopper and a bathroom curtain yellow with age. The place could also use a good deep clean of curtains all round.

I like the house it was a 6 sleeper there was ample of space. I liked that the fireplace is indoor close to the kitchen and lounge. The pool area was also a favourite. I enjoyed the privacy we could enjoy as a family. Parking is available close to the house which is great.

There is no wifi in the house. Wifi will be great. On the tv only open view is available. I wish their could have Dstv or netflix it would be great to watch more movies on tv. I missed watching a variety of movies. Also a smaller pool for kiddies will be good. The house i stayed in alot of the tiles were cracked in the lounge aswell as the window in the main bedroom. The shower was spilling a lot of water as well as the tiolet does not fill up. Signage outside will help to find the place easier.

View was good . Value for money

Place needs an attention. Towels were old and not smelling fresh . Shower water was coming out in bedroom and black marks on tiles outdated shower head . Chalet had like damp smell windows not cleaned properly

Tranquillity and natural surroundings. Francois and Maryna were excellent hosts.

Cleaning maid could have made her appearance more often.

Great Chalet overlooking lake! Large 2 bedrooms with lounge dining and kitchen and nice patio!

About 10km outside of Sedgefield. Security night light too bright for bedrooms!

The view was my most favorite part of the accomodation. I could sit for hours watching the lake and listening to the birds chirp. The heated pool was a great bonus. We would spend 3 hours in the entertainment area swimming playing pool and table tennis. The accomodation had everything we needed and was spacious and had so much light with all the windows. The braai area is indoors with a glass door allowing you to view the scenery so we were able to braai in the rain and still enjoy the view. It was so peaceful being there. Definitely a great stay if u want to get away from city life.

Even though we were there 4 nights it was not enough. Next time we will definitely stay longer.

The house was absolutely amazing and clean! I loved that we were able to bring our puppy along. I loved seeing the horse and being able to give him apples. The indoor pool was great and heated.

I have no complaints at all. One thing I do wish was there was a little fenced off garden to make letting your pet out a bit easier and we would have to leash our puppy every time he needed the loo but other than that everything was great

Very nice accommodation with an excellent view. Nice looking furniture and everything was clean and neat.

Eagles Nest is really a beautiful place to wine down from the busy life. The unit was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the indoor heated pool and some indoor games for the family. The staff are helpful and friendly.

I liked everything but wished there were more activities to keep smaller kids occupied closer to the unit.

There were no breakfast.

understanding it is a self catering, but some basics like tea / coffee would be good additive WiFi would make a big difference

I had to work and did not get time to explore the area

Attentive staff who address issues timeously, ensuring a memorable stay for everyone, we rented two units and will definitely come back.

Unit was located directly next to indoor swimming pool and entertainment area, large group with children was loud until 01h30 first night, reported to manager and matter was addressed where the pool area was closed at 22h00.

Loved that it was secluded, the views was amazing. It was peaceful and quiet. The hosts was great accommodating and super friendly and gave us great tips of places to visit. First day there was a power outage but hostess was amazing and gave us regular updates and gave us hot water flasks and pancakes. We were totally surprised by this lovely gesture.

The chalets could use some upgrading, like the mattresses a bit lumpy, the main bathroom bath shower combo could be made better and stronger flushable toilets. Wifi seems to be a problem, but we hardly spent enough time there to justify using electronics.

The location and potential of what could be offered on site. It's great a great holiday destination for older kids and adults, but not the best for toddlers or small kids during winter. regarding location, it's spot on, close enough to all the major activities amd spots you would want to visit on garden route.

The description vs the reality of your booking do not align. This led to a booking done under false pretenses. Description and accuracy is important as it directly impacts the quality of your holiday, this was our case due to having small kids and what was said to be on offer was not the case. This is crucial when booking as a family with small children. Indoor play area is misleading, when the indoor play area are just 2 pool tables, table tennis and Foosball, not of which 'toddlers' can play with - so play area should be more specific This is just an example of how a play on words can affect your decision when making a booking. If we did not have a welcoming, kind host, our stay would have been a much different experience - non existent to be honest. Despite the shortfalls, Maryna was incredible and truly made the difference in our decision to stay and make the most of it. We ended up spending our days away from our accommodation and just used it as a sleeping spot, due to the shortfalls experienced.

Quiet and relaxing atmosphere

The double bed mattress needs replacing/ flipping over. Tea/ Coffee station would be nice, even if this was at an added cost. No Wi-Fi in the rooms. The pool tables etc in the games room need repair (chipping off)- games room has deteriorated since we visited last.

The location was phenomenal and exited especially the nature around the Eagles Nest.

I liked everything about this place.

It was so awesome, from the time we arrived, we received amazing treatment. I am definitely coming here again. As I want to stay in the chalet with the jacuzzi.

That I couldn't stay longer to experience the breathtaking view in the morning. Next time I will book in the room with the jacuzzi.

It was very rundown. The bush growth obstructed the views of the vlei. Horrible fire smell in the entrance. Images did not accurately represent the place. Plastic dining table and plastic chairs. The oven grill did not work. The plastic jug was broken. Bathroom curtains very dirty.

The place has an excellent view. The pool is indoor and there are games for the kids to play inside. Clean Park as well as a friendly horse at the property.

WIFI, we had to sit around the pool area to be. connected to the WIFI.

We loved almost everything about our stay including being surrounded by Nature and the indoor pool and games facilities.

There is WiFi in the Communal games/entertainment area but not in the Unit itself.

Location and view was great

No fans in the room , broken couch , really old furniture, broken bench at heated pool
