設備は快適。部屋も3 LDK並みの広さでゆったりとしていました。お湯は白く濁った温泉の掛け流しで非常に満足しました。

La habitacion cuidada al detalle, los amenities inmejorables y el servicio impecable. La experiencia mas auténtica que hemos vivido en japón durante las 2 semanas que hemos viajado. Se nota que es un establecimiento orientado al turismo nacional de alto standing. Solamente nos cruzamos otras dos parejas, ambas de origen japonés en el bar. De no ser por esa experiencia en el area común, pareciera que fueraMos los únicos clientes del establecimiento. Muy recomendable coger desayuno y cena, por lo menos uno de los dias de estancia, la experiencia del servicio y la comida merecen mucho la pena. Una vez lo has experimentado, puedes alojarte algún dia más y tirar de famili mart, que esta muy cerca.

Nada, todo genial. Lo unico malo es que nos llovio a la salida, pero incluso eso, tuvo la ventaja de que nos regalaran dos paraguas y no son de esos malos, nos han durado todo el viaje y nos los llevamos de souvenir.

I got the YOI room and the property itself is amazing, no fault. the bed and pillow is great, definetely the best sleep i’ve had in my trip. the onsen area in the room was great and spacious. shower is amazing. the dining room and powder room are huge and everything feel lux. the food both dinner and breakfast were really good.

staff dont speak english properly, i think at the level that this property at, you should have staff all trained to speak english. the person who served us dinner could barely speak any english word and we have to wait for him to finish trying to say that this dish is a fish. for breakfast, upon booking I wasn’t asked what time i wanted my breakfast. but when doing check in they told me only 8am was available (9am and 10am were booked out). I was dissapointed because 8 is definetely too early for breakfast for me, which means i have to set an alarm to wake up earlier just so i can let them in for breakfast. and then i felt like they are trying to hurry me to finish breakfast. kept asking if we’re finished or not. mind you its a full on breakfast set, and check out is at 11am! i want to be able to enjoy the breakfast that i already paid in my own time. but they kept asking if they can take the food out. i finally caved in and said they could take it out but by that time i only ate 1/4 of the food. like what a waste of food. i dont understand why they cant just let the food sit in my room until 11am. another note about the property is you can hear the noise from the other quiet clearly.

Great service, delicious and beautiful meals, and a great comfortable room and facilities! The free drinks in room were a nice little addition.

The only thing for me was that the lighting is quite dark so even during the day it felt a bit dark in the bedroom.

Excellent facilities and great food. There are higher end places but this is good value for the price.

It is very serene . The rooms are very authentic Japanese . The staff is very kind . The rooms upstairs have a beautiful view . Also - the staff was amazingly kind and helpful - and sent our family calligraphy package via FedEx to Kyoto because I forgot it on our touring van. This was so incredibly thoughtful and kind - & truly exceptional service !

It would be nice if for breakfast there was a continental option with scrambled eggs, toast, fruits and yoghurt - for travelers who are not accustomed to Japanese breakfast .

Amazing and magical experience! The hospitality of the staff is at a very high standard. Perfect for couples. Every room is different but they each have a private onsen with hot spring water. Only stayed one night and it’s been highlight of our 2 week Japan trip so far.

Perfection. This luxury ryokan in Hakone is a hidden sanctuary, nestled among lush trees and almost enchanted by the gentle sounds of nature. Every detail is highly curated —from the exceptional in-room kaiseki meals to the outstanding wine selection in the complimentary minibar. Our room was a large suite, with a California king size bed and an 400 sq ft bathroom featuring dual rainfall showers. The crown jewel is a fully private open-air tub fed by natural hot spring water. The venue is surrounded by mesmerizing forest views. Pure bliss. The staff is very kind, discreet, and genuinely attentive. An unforgettable experience of calm, comfort, and total privacy. We came out entirely regenerated.

Walking up a steep hill to the property was a rough trek with heavy luggage.

Phenomenal stay! We spent 2 nights in the Hime room at the end of April 2025, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed. The service was exceptional—someone greeted us at the gates to carry our bags, and we were escorted straight to our room where check-in was done. We were offered a welcome drink and dessert, which was a lovely touch. The mini fridge was stocked with a great selection of beverages, including wine, beer, sparkling wine, tea, juice, and sparkling water. We had both dinner and breakfast in our room, and the meals were excellent. The dinner did take a bit longer than we expected, but that’s just because we typically prefer a quicker meal. The staff went above and beyond to help us—arranging bus times, assisting with booking a taxi, and quickly fulfilling our requests for a humidifier, memory foam pillow, and supplies for a sprained ankle. The room was very clean, well maintained, spacious, and stunning. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the room and onsen and wished we could've spent longer there.

This Onsen was legitimately one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. I have never in my life felt as much comfort and relaxation than I have here. It was so serene that my wife literally teared up when we left. The staff was kind and respectful. We had gotten in-room massages, drinks, and more. The hot spring rejuvenated us. The bed was comfy. Everything was perfect, and I'll honestly never forget how amazing this was. I hope that a lot of people get an opportunity to do this at one point of their lives. Just so they can feel pure joy.

The hotel offers a quiet and exclusive experience for me and my hubby. We are very happy with the room which has comfy bed, indoor onsen and very clean. The food is delicious and they served both breakfast and dinner in our room, which we feel very comfortable and relax when dining. The staff are also so friendly and helpful. Thank you to all the staff who helped us during our stay and we hope to be back there again.

Our one night stay was incredible - the kaiseki dinner was wonderful and the staff warm and friendly. The highlight would be the private onsen on the rooftop where we sat watching the sunrise at 6.30am while enjoying the warmth of the onsen. One of the most memorable ways to start off the morning we have experienced!

I’ve been lucky enough to stay at this resort twice, most recently last week and I’m already dreaming of my return! I’ve stayed in many luxury resorts in Japan but this is my favourite so far. Everything about this ryokan is absolutely stunning & it’s perfect for those who are looking for the utmost privacy, and a feeling of luxury & exclusivity for a special occasion. This time I stayed in the room called Hime (Princess) & I really felt like one during my stay! The view from the balcony was so beautiful, a bamboo forest where you can hear the cute sounds of the little green frogs. With the name Kinnotake (Golden Bamboo), the hotel’s theme is based around the Japanese story Taketori Monogatari (tale of the bamboo cutter) so you can see plenty of bamboo touches in your room. It was more like a suite with several rooms so there was plenty of space, the bed was so comfy and i loved that not only did we have our own private onsen & sun deck but there was also a huge inside bath too! The meals are served in your room which I love as its more private - you can wear the comfortable yukata the ryokan provides (& don’t worry it’s separate to your bedroom so the room won’t smell of food after). Eating ise-ebi sashimi & then having ise-ebi in miso soup for breakfast was a true highlight for me, along with the sweet & tender amadai fish as these are not common to eat! You can also decide to have your dessert served at the bar which we did so we could relax with a cocktail near the bamboo forest & pond too! It was truly a dream experience & I think it’s perfect for those celebrating a special occasion. Highly highly recommend if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime stay when in Japan, it won’t disappoint!

Absolutely incredible. Only 9 rooms and ours, Sora, had an incredible view with the onsen on our private roof deck We didn’t see any other guests the entire time. Service was best we’ve ever had as compared to any other five star hotel and food was three-Michelin star quality. There is a reason this place is rated as the #1 ryokan.

Booked here for the first two nights of our honeymoon to relax and time adjust ( coming from Boston ). Not only is the property and rooms stunning and the hot spring bath in our room relaxing, but the food is also incredible ! We had two dinners and two breakfasts here and were blown away. My Husband also got sick before we left and the staff took incredible care for him, even driving him to the doctor on our second day. I cannot say enough wonderful Things about this ryokan.

Our stay was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with excellent service. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. The views & the rooms are exceptional. Our private onsen was very relaxing and just what we were looking for to finish our stay in Japan. The food is divine! It was like living in a dream.

The only down-side was one need to notify staff and being escorted around / out of the hotel. Understand this was the concept of the hotel but perhaps mentioned this on the website if not already mentioned.

Staying at this property was the ideal way of getting away from it all. Total chill, with amazing service. The dinner and breakfast were terrific, although some might be challenged by some of the more exotic dishes, which I understand the chef will gladly change for guests. The location is also great for getting up to the lake for a cruise and/or the cable ride to the top of the mountain for amazing views of Mt Fuji and the hot springs.

An exceptional experience. I would highly recommend Kinnotake to anyone looking for a romantic experience. The rooms were spectacular and spacious. The service was unmatched - everyone there was extremely kind and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we asked for. We had breakfast and dinner at Kinnotake and I would highly recommend both.

Probably one of the best/exclusive hotels I have ever stayed in. Service was top notch. I am a vegetarian and they did every possible thing to ensure that I have a great meal! If you request in advance they can do ton of vegan/vegetarian options. I loved every part of my 2 day stay. They are just so warm and the service definitely was great! We stayed in Sora and loved our onsen I think we went in it like 4/5 times a day.

The services of the staff are beyond my expectations. The food is excellent. Room is super clean. Only downside is the spa not so good. we will come back in the future.

Kinnotake Sengokuhara is the most exceptional lodging I have ever had the privilege to experience. It is like walking into a fairy tale. The onsen, the meals, the service, and the amenities are all of the highest quality and caliber. I cannot reccomend it enough.

チェックイン後は全て部屋で完結するので、一歩も外に出ませんでした。 ゆっくりとした時間を満喫出来ました。

すごくまったりできて最高でした！ご飯も美味しく、お宿の方からの説明も楽しくて心から満たされました！

お出迎えは非常に丁寧で、到着したら受付等なくスムーズに部屋に案内されました。 そこからは部屋を一歩も出ることなく、お部屋の中でたっぷりとプライベートなゆったりした時間を過ごすことが出来ました！ お食事はとても美味しいです！ ボリュームも充分でした！ 部屋の清掃はとても綺麗で、行き届いてました！ おかげさまで心地よく過ごすことが出来ました！ 温泉の質も個人的にはgood！ ただ、大浴場等お風呂のバリエーションがなかったのが寂しかったです。 また行きたい宿です！

布団に髪の毛が一本有ったのが、少し残念でしたが、その点を除いて、非常に良い滞在でした。

急遽一緒にいくはずだった友人がいけなくなってしまって、私１人になってしまったのですが、可能な限りの対応やサービスをしてくださり、１人でもとても気持ちよく過ごすことが出来ました。 お部屋の中で全て簡潔するのでこの時期にも安心して伺えます。 スタッフさんの対応、お料理、お部屋、全て細部までホスピタリティを感じるとても素敵な旅館でした。

露天風呂がとても快適でした

コロナが騒がれる状況下でも、他の宿泊者との一切の接触がない点、会計なども個室にての対応であった点で十分に対応してくださいました。 元から個室のみの運営であるようで、関東から自家用車でアクセスした場合は自粛期間のTPOとしては満足していたものと考えます。こうした稀有な旅館が今回のことで閉店に追い込まれることはあってはいけないと旅行を趣味として生きる身としてつよく思いました。 当日は誕生日であるため、相方のケーキをサプライズで用意するというオーダーにもキメが細かく対応してくれたことに重ねて感謝します。

雰囲気作りがとても素晴らしい。 あとは、お料理もとても美味しくて料理長のこだわりが垣間見れました。 ゆっくりとした「時間」を過ごすことができました。

部屋の広さ、客室内の露天風呂、その他ハードは満足です。サービスは可もなく不可もなくという感じでしたが、唯一食事は、この価格帯の旅館にしては今ひとつでした。

I cannot rate Kinnotake high enough. I am extremely appreciative of the customer supports being offered at Kinnotake Sengokuhara. My son was extremely ill during our 2 days stay and one of the staffs Kawata San went to the hospital and help us to translate to the local doctors. Without Mr Kawata San's generosity help, we will not be able to call the emergency and get help. Besides the exceptional customer services, the hotel is also extremely clean and at a very convenient location. I will highly recommend this to any future travellers.

I been to Japan several times (10+) over the past few years and stayed at numerous ryokan throughout Japan. This place was the worst ever, nightmare. - The photo from their website is not reflective of the current condition. The whole ryokan is very badly maintained. I even saw rats running around outside via my window. - The dining in my room have bad ventilation which resulted in very oily residual smell - Housekeeping was poor, for the price i paid 80k yen per night. I don't think this is acceptable. - The food is below average - The room i stayed at, which is their suite have their only toilet bowl outside of the room at the open rooftop. There is zero shelter so everytime i go to toilet, i feel so cold. Because there is no shelter, i can't even go to toilet when it is raining!

Incredibly relaxing. Perfect way to end a day in beautiful Hakone. Our first time experiencing a traditional Japanese hotel did not disappoint. Beautiful onsen, privacy galore. This place had it all. The traditional meals are tough for most westerners pallets but we enjoyed the experience none-the-less.

Guests can choose their welcome drink and cakes, we have sparkling wine and cheese souffle and red beans cake, very delicious. There's a bar serving wine and cheese and crackers, free of charge. The overall settings are so relaxing and romantic. The private in the room onsen is awesome. Definitely will come back.
