Everything was amazing! The private onsen in the room was a pure joy to have and allowed a very relaxing time
Nothing!
落ち着いた雰囲気
夜の食事は無理でも朝食希望の変更は受けられたらいいな~と、無理でもスタッフの無理の伝え方が優しくなかった
Room, bed, semi outdoor bath.
No lift to second floor, don’t bring too much staff.
It was near the bus stop room was big comfortable bed and amazing hot tub
Really good hotel, with a great sauna and faclities. Dinner in a traditional clothing was a great experience. Highly recommended
We were treated very well as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. I thought the food was very good throughout the trip, but the meals at your accommodation turned out to be the best! Very memorable. How do you make the chicken, pork, beef, fish, vegetables, and fruits, SO tender?? The room was quiet and clean. We enjoyed the provided clothes to wear to meals. I would recommend this accommodation as long as people understood that the location is well up into the mountains. The bus ride was much less stressful than expected, considering the rain and mountain roads. The provided large umbrellas were very convenient for our excursions. The grounds were very nice. The local busses were reliable for day trips.
The check-in was a bit more confusing than expected, but it was okay. We were lucky that it was not raining when we had to walk the ten minutes, or so, from the bus. It is too bad that we could not have made arrangements to be picked up. We took a taxi back downtown and that worked out.
Very well-kept ryokan with a certified private onsen (that uses actual onsen water with an element breakdown for authenticity). A nice combination of modern rooms with traditional finishes and peaceful views of the countryside. Staff were very helpful and polite.
The provided dinner was of ample size but somewhat bland. Location is a little remote and will take a bit of a walk to the nearest bus stop and other attractions, so come with light luggage if possible.
Despite being located far from the main attractions in Hakone, I truly loved this experience. The staff, the service, the food, and the comfortable bed were highlights of my trip. I booked a room with a private onsen, and it was a remarkable experience. I highly recommend this place for those who want to rest and relax away from the crowded areas.
It’s far from the main attractions.
Very calming. The music in the lounge was very soothing.

Geweldig verblijf gehad!
The room was bigger than what it looked in the picture; a nice surprise. The breakfast and the hot spring were great! I liked the flexible hours for using the public onsen. They were split into 2 areas; depending on your time plan, you could soak in the water early in the morning, in the afternoon, or late at night. I managed to get the right time when there was no-one in the open-air onsen one evening. The darkness, just with the softly illuminated bushes and trees around, the smell of flowers and the light drizzle...they made the experience very magical.
Written information about the breakfast could have been provided on all days, not just on some. I do understand and speak some Japanese, but I am also hearing-impaired. It was very difficult to catch what the waitresses were explaining through the mask. Translating a menu into English should not really be that difficult. I gladly did it myself - when it was provided!
Convenient location, all the necessary amenities (e.g. toothpaste, tea, shampoo) are available. Huge bath.
Nothing to complain about, really.
Set menu at dinner and breakfast was good. Access to onsens was great
Checkin via tablet was slightly odd but not a big deal
The food was incredible. We had half board, so breakfast and dinner and both were delicious and generous. The onsens were great too.
Nothing at all. We loved it.
Nice hotel to rest, and confy beds, decent japanese onsen, if you are looking for a good rest and disconnect from the world, this is the best option
There is nothing around, you must rely in a bus, there was impossible to get a taxi, no restaurants around, only one shop 10 mins walking.
Love the 'Adults only', no screaming and running kids around. Big room, great spa facility.
No lift so you'll have to carry your bags. It's secluded so you'll need a car
quiet
cleanliness wasn't up to par
We absolutely loved our stay here. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Everything was so comfortable and we felt very well taken care of. Location wise it was perhaps a bit more out the way than some places but we loved it being more remote and it was very easy and cheap to get to via bus and we did the whole Hakone loop no problem without a car. We got a taxi from Gotemba Shopping place for about £20. The food was really special and we loved the outdoor private jacuzzi. We got engaged just before we arrived here and it was the perfect special place to celebrate!
Food was exceptionally good, we had breakfast and dinner for 2 nights and both were plentiful and delicious. Would warmly recommend to book with food included.
More remote location, prepare for appr. 1h bus ride through the mountains from Odawara station.
The food was amazing. Beds were super comfy. They even let you choose your own Yukata for the night.
Be aware, tattoos are strictly not allowed in the onsen. They do give you patches to cover them for an added price but they often show through.
Great quiet place with an onsen, spacious rooms, great service.
The room was clean and spacious. Private Jakuzzi was extremely nice, nite that it is due to reservation and additional payment, first part of kaiseki dinner (due to additional payment) was nice but then it went a bit of downhill. The bigger onsen is nice (onsens are being rotated between male and female each morning).
The hotel is extremely hard to reach in the later evening. As we arrived late we were too late to book breakfast and hotel staff could not do anything about it, no help even if we agreed with some very simple breakfast like cooked egg. The facilities in the room are working just fine but really old. Smaller onsen is poor. Hot stone spa is not a spa, it's just any overheated hamam. Dinner that was kinda costly was poor other than initial few dishes (bento was amazing and as always fish is great in Japan, but Waugh was non edible, extremely chewy, final dish was pasta and rice just to fill us up with something I guess. Personnel speaks close just a very few words in English. There is only one shop and very few places to eat in proximity. Disappointed in general thus we moved to other hotel in Hakone.
The breakfast is very good by mixing western style to Japanese food. Onsen is clean and quiet as kids are not welcome
The location is a bit hard to locate and the parking space is not easy to park after dark
Incredible room!!!
Staff were very accomodating and spoke to me in English when I indicated I was unable to speak Japanese well Food was excellent and room was spacious.
Drinks were a little expensive but understandable.
The rooms with the private onsen are outstanding, the staff was lovely and the diner was incredible.
The staff were very helpful and communicated with us in English. The room was very large, with an entry way, a large room, shower, and patio with private soaking bath. Since we had the private bath, instead of using the public one, we used the private one on our patio. It had a nice view out to nature. The shower itself was very large and also had a direct door to the patio and bath. We had the breakfast there and it was very filling and delicious.
When I arrived, the staff gave me a complementary sparkling wine.I really enjoyed speaking with Eru. I think she was very helpful and courteous. The driver who gave me a complementary ride to the bus stop was also great.
Location is a walk from the bus stop.
The meals I had in the hotel were excellent. They were not only food but also presentation of the Japanese culture. The staff was very professional and friendly. The hot spring air bath on the balcony of the unit made the stay exceptional.
Nothing much to complain about.
Quality all round. facilities, service, food!
Location was a bit far
A little way out of Hakone, but in lovely spot. Nice comfortable bed, pillows a little hard.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was vey good. Onsen on site for guests to use.
The attention to detail from the moment we checked in. The room was huge with a beautiful view and an outdoor hot tub. The food was amazing.
There was a loud screeching noise in the dining room. You can get there with a bus, but I would recommend using a car as its a long walk from the bus stop (especially if its raining)
The staff was wonderful, very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and of much higher quality than we expected. The amenities offered on site were very nice and enjoyable.
The Japanese are fond of very stiff beds and futons. If you are a fan of the soft pillow top mattresses found in the west, this will likely be the most comfortable bed you find in the country.
The temperature of the outdoor Onsen tubs are not adjustable, so bringing cold water from the tap, in the shower bucket may be recommended, if the heat is too intense.
The staff went above and beyond my expectations. To start, I had a lot of questions and concerns prior to the stay, even up to the day before! All of my questions were answered as swiftly as possible (given the time difference). When even I was in Japan, they replied within the next few hours! I should also note that I used both English and machine translated Japanese to make things a bit easier. The rooms were fantastic! I had 3 rooms booked, one with an outside bath (not onsen), one with an onsen, and a regular room. The regular room looked like a regular western hotel room (NOT a japanese business hotel room so you actually have space to move around!). The room with the onsen is in a separate building across the street. The onsen can fit 2 people comfortable and has a nice view of a private garden. The room is also quite spacious with a living room area. The room with the outdoor bath is the biggest of the 3 we booked. The bath was large enough for a single person to stretch out and take a nap. I was the only to use the bath so I can't say how many people can fit comfortably. In terms of the other facilities, there's two public onsens (public in the sense that any guest can use it). There's a large and "small" bath, separated by men and women and rotated throughout the day. While knowing the kanji for men and women would generally be useful, the colored banners reflect which one is which and the large onsen is labeled. The "small" onsen isn't really small. It can comfortable fit a good amount of people. It's small in the sense that the larger one has 2 onsens, one of the same size and one that's smaller but also outside. I personally like the outside onsen. The restaurant is spacious and wasn't overcrowded (I'm guessing there's multiple dinner times). The dinner and breakfast menus were absolutely delicious! Lastly, the staff are super accommodating!
The facility was stunning. We had the king-size room with our private little onsen outside. Mountain wiew, we couldn't ask for more. If you have tattoos, you are not allowed into the shared bath. Room deserves a 10.
I personally give a mediocre vote to the service. For some reason, we were really late for the checkout. I emailed the hotel twice throughout the day, but there was never an answer. The man who checked us in was really nice. However, he didn't tell us we had to reserve breakfast for the day after. So we missed it. When we checked out, the man was kinda rude. Good experience, but for the price and Japanese standards, I expected better.
food is superb
bath is a bit too small, staff seems mortified when I spoke English
Very nice hotel, you get a welcome drink when you check in, the dinner is very much a recommendation from our site. Delicious and a nice event. If you stay there, book the dinner! The onsen is small but hot and clean. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Not the largest, but large enough. The staff is helpful and friendly. We would stay there again. We stayed in more expensive hotels in that area which where much worse in terms of service and quality of... everything.
Nothing to complain.
The dinner is fantastic. The hot spring bathhouse is good. The public facilities are refined and elegance.
The bathroom in the room is a little bit out dating but you can take the shower in the hot spring bathhouse.
The property was stellar, looked very aesthetically pleasing. Helped wrap up our Japan vacation. I liked how nice the staff was.
n/a
quiet location and good value, breakfast and dinner were good
no towels in the onsen bath facility and one of the onsen bath changing area was too small with one sink and one chair
The location is remote to 30mins drive from Hakone. It was a really peaceful place, no kids were staying as it is adult only. Mostly couples staying, we selected to have breakfast and dinner during our stay as there isn't a lot of options available in the area.Food was really good.
The onsen baths that are available for guests staying at there aren't a variety of bath options. We had our own in our room on the balcony.
