Upgraded our room but it was very cramped. Barely enough room to move. Poor lighting so it was very dark, there were two chairs but they were very uncomfortable. The full breakfast was poor. Hard poached eggs, uncooked tomatoes, overcooked bacon and cheap sausage and black pudding.

Schön und gut gelegen.

Zimmer und Bad war für zwei Personen recht klein.

Het personeel en de locatie waren fantastisch. De kamer was school en het ontbijt was lekker.

Het bed was voor ons net iets te klein. Wij zijn allebei vrij lang dus het paste net.

Uitstekend ontbijt prachtige kamer, Vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar, heeft ons heel erg goed geholpen met van alles, oa de wereldstekker. Nogmaals bedankt!!!

Lovely quirky little guest house which was very clean & well maintained within walking distance of Windermere & Bowness on Windermere. The staff were very friendly & helpful & we had a delicious breakfast served in our room as we had booked the 4 poster one, lovely view from the room. We appreciated the selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc

The only very minor thing was the ceiling lighting in the room could have been brighter and a pop of colour to the decor would have made it more cosy,maybe sage green cushions or throw to tie in with the fun quirky wall paper!

Breakfast was great but beans would have appreciated. The theme of the building was good.

We hadden kamer 1 op de begane grond, die was wat donker en omdat het een oud huis is met houten vloeren is het wat gehorig.

Ideal location. Slap bang in the middle to either go left to the town or right, to the lake. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you, plus rooms and beds comfy. Nice touch in bathroom with cotton buds and cotton pads and a hair dryer. Ample tea and coffee, including earl grey and fruit and also hot chocolate

The enormous room was absolutely superb, which allowed us to be comfortable and enjoy the brilliant breakfast at the bay window every morning. The staff were welcoming and cheery - especially the young lady who brought us our breakfast and was always interested in what we had done and what we planned. The bed was confortable. It's in a quite location. Plus, I never heard any of the other guests move around. The location was good for us - about a 15 minute walk from Bowness in one direction and Windermere in the other.

There is parking on site, but the parking to the rear of the property is VERY tight - so be warned. There is on street parking within 50 metres or so. Whilst the bathroom was fine, it didn't match the quality of finish in the main room. As you can tell, I am being quite pedantic.

The staff was lovely, the rooms were lovely too.

Me and my partner have just spent 3 nights at Rum & Doodle celebrating my birthday. We stayed in Room 6 and it was absolutely beautiful! Spacious, clean and homely. We were never short of tea/milk/sugar, and every morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast delivered right to our table in the window. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with recommending local walks etc and you can really tell how much they care about providing a great experience. We could walk to plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants and didn’t use our car once in the 4 days! We walked to the local pier and explored on the lake ferries too. It was a perfect birthday celebration and we truly enjoyed every second. We’re so grateful - thank you Rum & Doodle for making it so perfect. We’re very sad to be leaving!

Just came away from a lovely weekend stay at the Rum Doodle. From the minute we were greeted at the door to leaving, we were in good hands of their lovely staff. The host was efficient and polite. The lady who was serving breakfast was brilliant and chatty (I hope you try the pancakes soon😋). Room was small but comfortable and clean. Parking was tight in the little car park but manageable! Love the decor in the breakfast room.

Room was hot but stayed through a partial heatwave but fan was provided which helped!

The Room was lovely, The location is good not to far from Centre, The Breakfast was lovely and the view from the room is nice.

The only little thing was the TV, Now normally this isnt an issue as I tend to not watch much however Wimbledon/World Cup were on Teressterial Tv and it kept freezing and loss of picture but this was just a minor issue.

Lovely little suite, 'The Summit' on the top floor, had a separate lounge so we weren't restricted to a bedroom. Comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished and decorated. The 'full Cumbrian' breakfast was perfect.

We had a flawless experience here. The location is excellent, nestled in a lovely area full of pretty, old cottages. The apartment itself was very spacious, clean, and cozy, and the breakfast was delicious.

We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and wanted a relaxing couple of nights. And that's what we got. Breakfast 10/10 Will def be going back when we can.

Parking was a bit hit and miss. I am disabled can't walk far but we managed. No big deal. Realy enjoyable stay that went too quick. Home from home feeling.

The breakfast was fresh and tasty and delivered to the room. The room was quirky with a good view out of the window. The staff were knowledgeable about the local area and offered suggestions for local walks off the beaten track which offered an alternative the the daytrip heavy crowd around the lake. Good selection of eateries whether you want good food or fast food rubbish

The location was brilliant, a lovely walk down to the lake. Close enough for all the shops and restaurants but not on the doorstep so it was quiet in the evening. Parking was a nice bonus too. Room was really nice, bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed. The bathroom was lovely, clean and well equipped.

There was nothing that they could improve on. Everything was really thought out. Top quality bedding and beautiful towels. The Rum Doodle was amazing! You wouldn’t be disappointed staying here.

Everything about this place is wonderful! Staff are so kind and helpful, extremely welcoming. Breakfast is incredible with a small but delicious menu, served from 08:30 to 09:30. The beds are maybe a little small depending how large you are, but perfect for myself and my partner. The WiFi is fast and reliable, and the en suite is lovely! Shower is strong and hot, great selection of towels and a robe if you want! There is a fridge downstairs that everyone is welcome to use. Room comes with a hairdryer (and diffuser!), a fan and a heater, an extra blanket if you get cold, as well as teas, coffees, biscuits and a kettle. The B&B is nicely situated in-between Windermere train station and Bowness centre. It's about a 20 minute leisurely walk to the pier- we usually hit the town centre in roughly 10 minutes.

If you are a very light sleeper you might struggle. The walls can at times be a little thin- so it depends how noisy your neighbours are!

Quirky guest house in great location for walking either up or down the main road to reach restaurants, sights etc. Hosts were friendly and the breakfast was terrific. Loved it.

WE were very satisfied with staying at the Rum Doodle. Needed to walk uphill to get to location - not a problem for us but could be for some. Parking was a bit of an issue - steep driveway.

We had a fantastic stay at Rum Doodle. Incredibly kind staff, clean room, and delicious breakfast. The lively downtown Windermere and several scenic walks are easy to access from this location. Would recommend to all visiting! Also, saw a sweet cat outside of the property upon our arrival (pictured). Cherry on top!

Delicious served breakfast, kind staff, comfortable beds, good location.

The bathroom is too small for an adult to use comfortably, and there is no wardrobe available, making longer stays difficult. Additionally, I suggest closing the kitchen doors in the morning. Due to poor ventilation, cooked breakfast smells drift directly into the guest rooms—especially the ground floor rooms and room 3 upstairs—which is quite unpleasant. Finally, please respect that guests are sleeping in the morning; a quieter environment during breakfast prep would be highly appreciated.

The beds were very comfy, the breakfasts were delicious, the staff were lovely, and the location is perfect. The room included everything you’d expect and more, you can really tell they have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and special as possible. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you for having us, and we loved our stay.

It wasn’t really much of a problem, but me and my wife are both tall, and we got the attic room which proved a little tricky but only sometimes. Getting in and out of the bath wasn’t always easy and there was no separate shower cubicle… but I’m nit picking really. I’ll stop here again next time I visit the lakes, it was a great experience place

The location was fabulous, breakfast was delicious except the tables were very small. Parking was off road but difficult to manoeuvre. The guest house was very clean but slightly dated furnishings.

The host didn’t greet us at all while we were there which has never happened to us before? As stated parking was available but difficult to manoeuvre and not enough spaces for the rooms available. Breakfast tables were very small especially if you like to spread out! Our room was in the attic and we spent the time bending over as the sloped walls weren’t meant for tall people! Unfortunately there was no view from this room.

We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The breakfast was very good, and the location was perfect — close to everywhere we wanted to visit. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

A very nice place to stay. The staff are all lovely and very obliging. The room was small, well -appointed and comfortable. The bed mattress was adequate but not as comfortable to sleep on as others we have had on our trip. Good bathroom. The breakfasts were delicipus and freshly- cooked to order! Overall, a pleasant experience!

The location of this BnB was perfect for my needs. A short walk from the lake, far enough away that the roads were more accessible and quiet and easy to get out to Ambleside etc. The BnB has limited but enough parking, the top car park was a touch tight so large cars would be better in the side car park. The room itself (Number 3) was comfy, with a cosy double bed and a nice ensuite. A perfect place to sit and relax after a long night out at a wedding! The breakfast served was very filling and some of the best food I've had in ages, and the service was very friendly. I'll be back next time I come to lakes!

The bedroom was really nice. The bed was really comfortable and there was plenty of temperature control provided, although we didn't need any of it. The breakfast was fantastic, in particular the pancakes. They were some of the best I've had, really fluffy. The staff were really friendly and made sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

There wasn't anything that was bad here. Only suggestion might be to have some mini bubble baths provided.

One of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in, a lovely experience from check-in to check-out. Owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our short break, including a really luxurious bath which was amazing after a long hike. The bed was very comfortable, and the location was peaceful so we slept really well. Breakfast was exceptional, good choice on a set menu and extremely high quality. Nice selection of cereals, yogurts, etc. available in addition to a cooked breakfast. Location was ideal for our stay, pretty much half way between Bowness and Windermere so either town was accessible for food/drinks. Lots of hiking routes (and obviously Lake Windermere) either a short walk or short drive from the B&B. Secluded enough from main roads though, so very quiet at night which was great.

Parking is quite tight, probably similar for other properties in the area though.
