Absolutely stunning, credits to the interior design team and architects
The restaurant was disappointing. I understand the pizza place, but something more traditionally English would be better at the horn. A very average Italian restaurant. I would recommend staying at the hotel but not eating at the horn for dinner and having dinner off property. The breakfast however was great!!
It looked very cool and quirky
Our room. I’d asked for it to be thoroughly clean as I didn’t realise at the time of booking, dogs were allowed to stay and I have an allergy. Unfortunately the room was extremely dusty, even down to the mugs under the trolley to make a drink with were dusty inside. Plus the milk looked like it was off after making myself a cup of tea. Splashes of some sort of spillages on carpet and down the side of the trolley. Dust on tables, hairs on the chair. Very expensive for one night at £430!
Such a lovely place to stay. Really cozy and relaxing.
Everything. Wonderful rooms, food and staff in a perfect location in a delightful town.
Loved everything.
Such a beautiful historic building in the centre of Burford. A bit quirky with lots of historic nooks and crannies and unusual art work. Breakfast was one of the best
Nothing
The style all amazing!! Our room was very nice, breakfast delicious!
Spiderwebs noticeable in a lot of places like our room number and light. Price was a little bit high but i made the sacrifice for partners bday
Lovely building with interesting art and great dining options
It lacked the level of service expected from a Michelin Key hotel.
Fabulous interior
Everything was amazing
The staff were so accommodating and friendly!! It’s a struggle to get taxis in Burford and the lovely lady at reception rang about 10 different people and managed to book us a taxi for 7 to Bourton On The Water. The rooms are so cosy and clean - Stunning bathroom (with underfloor heating, we love this at a hotel). Breakfast was delicious and so are the other restaurants. Would 100% stay again!!
No complaints, we want to come back!
Great location and hotel.
Nothing
Good location nice food
No tv in room where it. Clearly states there is a flat screen tv in room Bedroom was very dark with just small window at high level Lighting bathroom not working Radio didn’t work and remember we had not TV Our room right next door to private outdoor function so very noisy until quite late
Staff lovely
the restaurants - wild and slice
We loved our stay. It was incredibly hot so the air conditioning was a blessing! Staff were very busy but lovely.
Such a lovely, cool, place with an amazing vibe
Nothing
Gorgeous recently refurbished hotel in the centre of burford. Well thought out space & a lot of attention to detail in the room.
Not very sound proof from where our room was to the restaurant onsite so heard music throughout the evening when trying to sleep. Thought the price was a tad steep for the size etc (we paid 350£) for one night for the basic room.
Ubicación perfecta
El servicio del desayuno muy lento
Location Decor Comfort Breakfast
No table booked for dinner inspite of calling them and being on the phone for 15 minutes They got email address wrong and cancelled our dinner as we couldn’t confirm it. We had nowhere to go but an Indian round the corner Disappointing experience
Cool and comfortable!
Nothing - loved it all.
It was ok.
The room was cold and drafty, the restaurant that we had booked was closed and we were not informed of alternatives
Decor , facilities and location
Nothing as we were satisfied
Lovely atmosphere, nice and peaceful. Lovely rooms
Beautiful interiors and finish
The apartment room at the Bull is lovely
Everything
Really lovely atmosphere inside and out here. Bit pricey but worth it
We stayed at the Nook. Beautiful aesthetics and we loved the room/bathroom. Great attention to detail. Breakfast was really nice and it was great to have a bar/restaurant/terrace to hang out. The hotel has great location to go around Cotsworld. We thought parking would be an issue but we were able to park very easily.
Coffee at the breakfast was pretty bad. Also restaurant service was very slow, we had to ask 3-4 times to get our drinks/coke.
Artwork was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Decor is amazing. No tvs which is great.
Nothing we loved the whole experience!
We booked a stay here for one night for my fiancés birthday and was left hugely disappointed! We had booked a meal at ‘Horn’ at the hotel and the service was shocking! We waited half an hour to just be given a menu and then over an hour to be given our starter! In the end we said to skip the starters and go straight to mains because it was such a long wait and we were getting tired as it was a late night booking. The starter arrived though free of charge because of the incredibly late running of the kitchen but when handed to us half of it fell on the floor and we were left with a mess of a starter which didn’t look that appetising anymore so we didn’t eat much of it. Following this due to the extremely long wait and the feeling like we were not important there we decided to leave without even having a proper meal. We resorted ordering food in to the hotel and eating in the room which was hugely disappointing, especially as a birthday meal! The following morning we went for breakfast and AGAIN another long long wait for food even though I had only ordered a few pastries, we were waiting over half an hour for breakfast. And again this left us extremely dissapointed, angry and frustrated. Overall the hotel room was lovely and there was no problems with that but the level of service in the restaurant and the cooking and waiting times for food was shocking!
We ate at the Horn restaurant in the Bull on Friday 13th. It wasn't unlucky for us since it was an excellent meal. Struck up a great rapport with Vasco, who was extremely professional. After we didn't see him for a while, we were told he'd left for the night.. shame he didn't say goodbye!.. never mind. Dora and Charlie both were on hand to assist. Atmosphere was nice if a little loud at times with large groups. It would have been five stars, but have to knock one off due to the fact they don't take cash. It is legal tender after all. I've heard lots of reasons for this policy (since Covid actually) - Everything from staff safety to minimising theft, but actually I think it's laziness on the part of the establishment. Many people do not like to give the bank a running commentary (as shown on their statement) about exactly where they've been and what they spend their own money on. That little gripe over we'd certainly go back, but I think the owner/management should think seriously about accepting cash.
The hotel is going for casual luxury and chilled vibes and achieves it for us. The building, the food and booze all awesome. Ate at Wild which was brilliant and would say is a must to do.
The fact that not all of the breakfast items were available as part of the bed and breakfast rate was a bit odd, just up the price and let people eat what they want.
I went to the Bull with our daughter and her little dog and every part of our stay was perfect! Our welcome was just right, attentive and all smiles with a brief explanation of how the hotel worked and the spaces where meals were served with timings, after which we were shown to our large ground floor dog friendly room. The room was really well equipped with high end tea and coffee making facilities and ingredients, wine fridge, beverages and snacks. The room was beautifully furnished in a Soho House style and the enormous bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The marble bathroom was beautiful and well appointed. The room was right next to the courtyard and driveway to the hotel which was perfectly situated to take the dog on short strolls. For dinner in the main dining room we enjoyed a mix of small plates and mains, all of which were sublime. Breakfast the following morning was served in a brasserie style setting and equally delicious. Again - the service was perfect. The setting in central Burford is great, with free parking just down the road and the High St has a rich offering of independent shops and galleries - plus a convenience store for anything you might have forgotten. The Bull is only an hour away from where we live, and I can't wait to go back with my husband - even if it's just for dinner. Would highly recommend !
Great location, friendly, helpful staff and a lovely breakfast.
No parking, not the biggest issue and known when booking. Spaces are very at a premium in Burford.
English Charm
We went for the Sunday roast for my partners birthday. The food was delicious, I had the roast beef and my partner had the lamb. I’ve never had beef like it, it quite literally melted in your mouth. All the other trimmings were amazing and the service was excellent. I would recommend anyone to try it.
The staff really made it for me. Lovely warmth and humour. We stayed in the lookout room. Warm and Cozy! A bit too cozy but it was fine and comfortable and it did us for three nights. A little dark. No radio in the room. I’m sure we were supposed to have one? The bar is terrific and I had some good cocktails from Leo. He’s an expert at them. I had the best burger ever one night ! Food is very good and the restaurant feels a very nice place to be. Lunch was good too. I’m pleased I found the hotel by chance It was enjoyable and the high street is good, not so touristy. I found the Cotswolds a little dull in some of the villages due to touristy shops and tourists. Daylesford farm was great for coffee and food. We went twice. I come from North Norfolk by the sea and there it feels more of a hidden gem especially in the winter.

Impeccable service, bar tender knew his drinks, with lots of great recommendations, amazing talent, well organised on the orders Great prices Great atmosphere. A nice visit
Well it took some time and a little persuasion but we went to the Bull and Horn restaurant which resulted in a fabulous dinner for all the family. Super cocktails, wine, champagne and great food. The setting was fabulous with good service and we were not rushed. Thank you to all the team and to George who gave me the final push to book. We will be back.
It’s a wonderful hotel. Amazing facilities and decor but the room service really let the place down. I was offered a Lemsip by the manager which never arrived, Then asked for a pork pie which I am still waiting for and when I went to check the kitchen, the brownie I had left there had been eaten by a very senior member of staff. It’s so sad that one poor operative should so negatively colour the whole experience.
The cocktails on a Monday night served by holly! what a great bar waitress! perfect interaction as needed as a customer! The food looked very pleasant as i looked upon the restaurant! very good atmosphere would recommend on a Saturday night!! or any night in fact!
De enorme gastvrijheid en de kindvriendelijkheid zorgden voor een echte ontspannen vakantie.
The staff are amazing, hotel is exceptional and the food! Delicious! 10 out of 10 for everything.
Nothing!
Lovely hotel, friendly staff (organised a taxi for us as we were going to The Farmers Dog) nice town, room was fabulous
Breakfast was ok but small menu and portions
So classy

Staff were great - especially the GM
Staff were great and was a great experience
We prefer the highway in reflection more our vibe, more understated and less showy
Lovely old property, restored beautifully and sympathetically to cater for today’s guests requirements. Full of interesting pieces of art and quirky furniture, all put together thoughtfully and with a sense of humour. Don’t come here if you like straight walls and level floors!
It’s an amazing property

Met some amazing bartenders named Meg and Leeno on Sunday before the dinner they were very polite, cheerful and attentive and really set the tone for the rest of the night for us as we met Jade in the restaurant and she was a star as she gave amazing recommendations and kept us laughing all night long.
Best Christmas present - WILD restaurant at Bull Burford. My husband and I had been gifted this amazing restaurant experience for Christmas. Such a special night sitting in a perfectly tailored outdoor restaurant under canvas. We started at Vincent’s Bar, chatting to the talented friendly Jake who was able to make a cocktail for us that my husband and I had many years ago. This was a fab start and predicated what was to come. We were then greeted by the Wild staff, Jack and Leann ( thank you both for looking after us so well) who soon arrived with our first course ( of 11!) which we were given at the bar - Blue Fish Tuna. We were then taken to the cosy tent where we met Chef Ben who was passionate, informative and fun. Each course was cooked on open coals in full view of the diners and included trout, sea bass and venison finished by Alaska with a caramelised topping. The aged Beef course was a huge talking point amongst our group as we all watched this flavourful piece of meat brown and bubble on the coals. Each ingredient, carefully selected and presented by Ben, was delicious. Wine pairings were second to none and introduced wines I had never seen before and wines that I had- but were soooo much better. Creative and memorable. Now thinking of when I can go again. Very soon.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Bull Burford. The hotel has plenty of character and feels stylish but relaxed. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we’d happily stay again.
A lovely place to stay right in the heart of Burford, the room was well kept and very comfortable after a long day out. We had dinner at the hotel and enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. The staff made us feel very welcome.
The hotel is full of charm and feels very welcoming. Our room was comfortable, and everything was clean and well presented. The location is ideal for exploring the area. The staff were wonderful.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Bull Burford. The hotel has lots of character and feels stylish but relaxed. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, perfect after a day exploring the Cotswolds. We enjoyed dinner and drinks with great food and atmosphere. The central High Street location is ideal, and the staff were friendly and genuinely welcoming. We’d happily stay here again.
So very disappointed with Boxing Day lunch. Just pies or all day breakfast. No fish dishes and the only thing is could eat was curried cauliflower pie, awful, just awful. No starters, why not, no fish just pies, grief. A total waste of money for 5 people. We are local to Burford but bull will not get our business unless they can serve up a better meal than this.
We went to the Bull at Burford for a friend’s 50th Birthday after seeing good reviews online. We booked a private dining room for a large group. When we arrived we were shown to a room at the rear which was nicely decorated but cold. The Sunday roast was priced at £34 pounds so we’re expecting something special. When the food came it was cold. There were various items missing from people’s plates. Even one missing the gravy. A few people in the party were gluten free The waiting staff and kitchen were not sure which items were gluten free. Overall very disappointing and not worth the money.
I'll start with saying that the property itself, the rooms and the restaurant are all lovely. The food in the Horn restaurant was superb and the service there and in the bar was great. However, for the price that you pay, I don't think the service quite meets expectations in other areas. A couple of examples: 1. I called on the Friday, looking to book a room. I was told I'd get a call back later that day because they were really busy. They took the room that we wanted and said it was available, and that they would call back that afternoon to confirm the booking. However, we got no call back and then when I rang again on the Monday, we were told that our first choice room wasn't available, so we booked another. I then looked online straight after the call and the room we wanted was in fact available. 2. When we arrived we booked a massage for the following day. When double checking the following morning for the timing of the massage, we were told it was in fact booked for the day after, after our stay had ended, at a completely different time to what we had initially booked. 3. At breakfast, small details are missed or got wrong. Not offered any water, eggs overcooked, service quite slow etc. Whilst it's a lovely hotel, and the rooms are great, we were left feeling a little disappointed.
This was a last minute trip to the Cotswolds and we were able to book a room at Bull mid week. We loved it! The room was quirky and extremely comfortable and we had a tour of the incredible artworks which were of particular interest to us. We enjoyed fabulous cocktails in Vincent’s bar followed by pizza. The breakfast was incredible and the service was spot on. We will definitely return as it was a luxurious but relaxed experience.
Mixed experience. We went for breakfast on the way to the races. Firstly, despite calling and changing the booking in plenty of time from four to five people, they had set it for only four - they stuck an extra place at the end of the table, which made for a cramped breakfast table. The service was mixed; the wait staff started off being abrupt and not helpful, but they somewhat turned it around. The food was delicious and well worth going for the breakfast.
Ate here for lunch, super friendly, helpful staff. Absolutely delicious food served in a cozy inviting atmosphere within Vincent’s bar. We hadn’t booked so popped in to check availability, the guy behind the bar was super helpful and showed us options of where to eat as we had our small dog with us.
My wife, 2 friends and I stayed a Saturday night at the Bull as part of a weekend in Burford, and we don’t think we’ll be going there again. It charges prices which suggest a luxury boutique hotel, but our experience fell far short of that. Both rooms had problems. In the Beam room the carpet had some large stains. The underfloor heating in the bathroom stopped working soon after arrival, and when this was pointed out to staff, it was not fixed. The bathroom was freezing when the guests arrived, because the window was open, and they had to call staff to shut it, because it was stuck. The WC was uncomfortable, because it is close to the window, there is no double glazing, and the underfloor heating was not working. People walk back and forth along the entire length of the bathroom and room, which doesn’t make for a peaceful stay or allow for privacy if the guests leave the curtains open. The Nespresso machine was unusable because it had no container for the water, and staff did not repair or replace it, when this was pointed out to them. The guests were not given a wifi code on arrival, so they had to ask Reception for it. In the Cosy Room there was no place where the guests could hang up clothes (not even hooks on the backs of the doors). The guests’ sleep was badly disrupted by noise from the street between 11 p.m. and midnight, which showed that there was no double glazing. (I rang Reception to complain about the noise.) The curtains let in light through the windows during the night, thus making sleep more difficult. The advertising mentioned “sweeping rooftop views” but there was hardly a view at all. There was only one chair in the room, which made it a difficult place to spend time, but strangely there were 2 wineglasses, with expensive bottles of wine available for sale, which suggested that the management were trying to persuade guests to sit drinking wine in the room. It didn’t make sense. We did not try the hotel’s dining options because, when we tried to book a table 2 weeks before our visit, no tables were available except in the pizza and ice cream restaurant, and we did not want to eat pizza on the Saturday night. When I explained that we were hotel guests, I was given a vague promise that we “wouldn’t go hungry”, but did not get an idea of when we would be able to eat, so we had dinner at the Baytree Hotel instead, which was excellent. The breakfast was good, and the portions were large. On 2 different occasions when I rang Reception, there was no answer and I left a voicemail message. On both occasions no-one rang me back, and I had to ring again. In general there was no attention to detail, and this caused a series of problems. So none of the 4 of us would recommend anyone else to stay there. The Bull does not provide value for money.
Cosy, clean, rustic - a lot of charm and character
Layout, design and decor. Food quality and service were brilliant
Parking is the only slight negative but that’s the Cotswolds, car park is less than 5 min stroll away.
Visited with friends. First impressions were great, Cotswolds Town high street, quaint, traditional, nice welcome, but that’s where it ends. Food offering was mediocre at best with very little imagination or flare. Mains were quite unappealing so we all ended up having starters as a main with sides to bolster the food quantity. The food was poorly presented, lacking taste and seasoning, plate quantities were one up from nibbles, and the price was ridiculously high for what it was. £170 for 4 starters, 6 sides, 2 cokes, 1 G&T and one zero alcohol beer. Arguably one of the worst value for money eating out experience we’ve ever had. A definite Not To Return To venue for us. Oh yes, and don’t bother going to their toilet without your wellies.
We had a fabulous two-day break at Bull. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was fantastic from everyone we met - from the receptionists and restaurant manager to the team who were finishing off the interior decor refresh. It was an anniversary weekend, so we wanted it to be special. Our suite was the ultimate place to relax. Reviewers have commented on the subtle lighting in the rooms, which is true. Add to that the bold decor, which I loved, the heated bathroom floor and the fluffiest bathrobes . Downstairs was busy and buzzing. All the food and drinks were good, but highlights were the fresh mackerel starter I had at lunch on the first day, the green tomato Bloody Marys and the pizza we shared on our last evening. Burford itself was the perfect place to wander around and window-shop on an autumn morning and it's well placed for exploring further afield too. We didn't have time to do everything we wanted, so we'll be back.
The Bull has great potential!
Sadly the lack of attention to detail meant our stay wasn’t what it should have been.
We spent 2 nights at The Bull in Burford and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Burford, known as the gateway to the Cotswolds — making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding villages and countryside. The inn is dog-friendly, which was a huge bonus for us, and it provided a warm, cosy place to retreat to after long days out walking and sightseeing. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and full of character — everything you’d want from a classic Cotswolds stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for charm, comfort, and convenience in a beautiful part of England.
We were first time visitors. Spoke with reception on the day of our visit and they managed to get three of us and 2 dogs sat. We all order the Sunday roast - pork belly - all elements were outstanding…. Service was excellent.. and great value. Can highly recommend.
Horn Restaurant: Yet again anther Cotswold restaurant that is style over substance. Service was slow, and non existent, for 4 servers taking care of approx 13 tables. Sat at 19:40 drinks arrived at 20:10. Partner had the Chicken Pie special, in his words, it was hot, and ok. I was excited for the Steak tartare which spoke of Hereford beef and truffle. Sadly this was not the case. I'm sure there was a beautiful cut of beef somewhere in there but it was overwhelmed with mustard and dabs of what appeared to be mayonnaise on top, with not a whif of truffle to be found. Accompanying this was 2 thin slices of sourdough whizzed over a grill for some char marks. Quite possibly the worst steak tartare I have ever had. The Isle of Wight tomatoes were tasteless and not ripe {a local discount superstore has better offerings} and the 'crispy roasted Rattle potatoes' were greasy and far from crispy. Top this off with an included 12% gratuity for what I'm not sure and it makes for a sad meal out for £75 Just once I would love to get food that lives up to the hype of a menu. Disappointed
The hotel was totally funky. Full of an eclectic mix of modern art and antique furniture. Our room was spacious but up a couple of stairways where we had to drag our luggage, but well appointed. No tv, and what’s with hotel taps in the UK. Every one is different.
Parking was difficult up a side street where we had to drag our suitcases over several cobblestones laneways to get there. Although it was on a weekend and very crowded. Avoid the weekends.
We went for my birthday weekend celebrations and I’d been really looking forward to popping into the Bull to try their food! We had pizza out the back and whilst the pizza was one of the best pizzas I had ever had, I was really disappointed with the service. The staff did not seem bothered and would stand in huddles giving me side eye constantly which started to upset me. There was only one other guest there and they didn’t seem to give them looks. The waiter proceeded to remove the food at our table before we’d even finished the olives. I had been so excited to try here and would happily go back for the food alone but the staff upset me a lot with their behaviour as they acted like they didn’t want us there.
