The bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Six of the most comfortable, oversized pillows. The suite was quiet, but outside traffic was noisy in the morning. Our suite faced a busy street.

There were about 20 stairs to get to our room. We were warned there were stairs, just not how many. Taking luggage up and down was a bit of a struggle. I'd suggest requesting he main floor suites, especially if you're older. No breakfast places close by. Market mall is a 3 block walk.

The building was well maintained. The host saw me puzzling over the entrance to the garage and came to help me. It was in a nice newer part of town. The space was like a studio apartment. with a small kitchen and nice modern bathroom.

The garage facilities cost extra and were a little grungy. But it was right across the street from the apartment.

Location is excellent and convenient. Rooms are new construction but nicely decorated in the old style. When I called with a parking problem at the last minute, the woman who helped me was kind and flexible.

We were spoiled by having stayed at the Chipman Hill Suites at 76 Sydney Street, a gracious old home with an enormous parlor and a beautiful sunroom to sit in, in addition to a character-filled bedroom. This room felt very standard in comparison, and having absolutely no public space was a surprise to us. More like an upscale boarding house with a few rooms up a very steep staircase. Parking is behind the building at an extra fee, which meant walking a very long way with luggage since there is no rear entrance.

The room was very cosy, clean and comfortable. The building exterior itself has beautiful architecture and very helpful receptionists. Walking distance to the water front.

Good location! The parking spot we paid the hotel extra for was right in front of the building, very easy to access.

Monolocale situato in un vecchio fabbricato di mattoni rossi sopra il porto. Stanza spaziosa e pulitissima con angolo cottura perfettamente attrezzato. In dieci minuti a piedi si è nel piccolo centro in riva al mare. Staff molto gentile e check-in via mail molto preciso.

Hôtel très bien situé près du centre ville de St.John et près du traversier pour Digby. Propreté impeccable. Lit très confortable. Il y avait aussi une kitchenette que nous n’avons pas utilisée mais qui était très bien.

Room was clean and nice with kitchen.

No staff on site to assist if needed. Someone was parked in our assigned parking spot and it was difficult to contact staff. Had to call after hours number to get ahold of someone. Also there are three different doors and no instructions for which door to enter building. Found it confusing at first..

I booked a room with a king bed through booking.com, but got a room with a queen bed. The host should correct booking.com.

Our room was a bit noisy but wasn’t an issue when sleeping which was good.

Les clés n'étaient à l'endroit indiqué, cependant le personnel à l'acceuil a pu nous donner les clés rapidement ainsi que la vignette pour le stationnement.

The add was deceiving because it listed parking as included but way down in the fine print it said there was a fee. It should list parking available for a fee rather than included. Otherwise, the stay was great.

Very convenient location in centre of St John. Plenty of room in the suite to have breakfast, unpack bags etc.

Maybe we were being technical dunces,but we couldn’t get either TV to work. Parking fee is additional.

All was awesome. VERY clean. A piece of a seaview was a pleasant bonus. Like, seriously, highly recommend

6 pillows for 2 people were a little bit too much lol. Joking. Nothing bad, really. Ah, air conditioner was pretty noisy. Check the parking though. We were covered, no complaints (thank you!). But if there were more guests with cars, I don't know how it would be

Excellent proximity to everything you’d want to do while visiting Saint John. We walked everywhere except the Reversing Falls, and there is a bus stop nearby that takes you directly there. Really comfortable bed, and it was nice having a small sofa for relaxing a bit at the start and end of each day.

The Sydney Street location is next to Kings Square, but that seemed to be a hub for small groups of homeless or drug-affected people. We didn’t have any problems or interactions with anyone but I’m mentioning it because it did make my son feel a little uneasy or unsafe, so we went out of our way to avoid that area when walking back to our hotel each night.

The room was great, very nicely appointed. The full kitchen was a great addition. There was free onsite laundry. Very walkable to downtown area. Staff we met was excellent. Enjoyed the jetted tub.

This accommodation was unbelievable! The kitchen was very well equipped. Bedding and pillows were of high quality. Quiet and safe! Communication for check-in, parking and check-out was excellent!

Very nice property. We had a small suite which was a bit cramped but it had everything we needed including coffee and a good coffee maker. Very clean. Centrally located near the harbour and excellent restaurants. The only downside was a noisy air conditioner but it was hot and needed. We would definitely stay again

We found Chipman Hall to be such a cozy and charming historic space. The bedding was very comfortable and we had a restful sleep. The entire space had everything we needed with a little kitchenette and spot to relax. Note to visitors, the lot behind the hotel is free on weekends after 6pm, as is the red rose lot nearby, as long as your vehicle is moved by noon, the following day. We loved our stay and will definitely return!

Beautiful, unique old property with nice finishings, lots of room, great beds pillows and towels. Night lights are a great touch! Loved being able to do our laundry.

All the stairs was an issue for the two in our group who had the 3rd floor room to carry luggage to.

The cleanliness and location of the room was I enjoyed the most.

The room, suite #5 was like sleeping in an oven. You couldn't open any windows either. Did not sleep much, too hot, dry and uncomfortable. The thermostat was set at its lowest temperature. I think this has been a problem in the past as well because there was a sign right beside the thermostat asking to "please do not turn off the thermostat off"

Great location if you have an event at the Canada games pool. It’s next door. The parking option was excellent and easy.

There were a lot of emails going to me before we arrived. If I had been somewhere that did not have internet it may have been a problem - don't know how to solve that. Emails were very clear and succinct

The staff at the suites communicated well with us prior to arrival. We didn’t expect anyone in the office because we arrived after office hours. Surprisingly the front desk person, Grace was there to help us check in and carry luggage to the second floor. Our room was clean, cozy and comfortable. There was kitchenette equipped with everything we needed. We appreciated that we had assigned parking spot behind the hotel.

The only thing it got attention was inadequate lighting. The ceiling light was too bright and table area offered no light.

This was a nice stay. We loved having a full kitchen, and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to walk to nice restaurants.

It was really good very great place to stay. Lots to see nearby just a walk away markets and shops.

The staff were very helpful guiding us by phone into our parking spot and into our room! These suites have a great location at the top of the hill in Uptown Saint John, the historic centre of the city. We had a great time walking the neighborhood and luckily encountered the Sunday open-air market on Queen Square where we lunched on delicious Nigerian fish & plaintain.

You can look at the area as run down and a little seedy, or as working class and a historical district with wonderful architecture. Comfortable accommodations, with plenty of email communication to let you know how to get in and out of the suites (there is no lobby for check in). I'd stay here again.

The need to contact property in advance for parking could have been made a bit clearer.

Very hot and stuff hallway, and our room did not cool off despite the best efforts of a small window air conditioner. We suggest looking at ways to increase ventilation in both the hallways and the rooms.

Great location in downtown Saint John, near harbor, restaurants and historic sites. Well equipped room with mini-kitchen, small dining table, decent A/C. Bed pretty comfortable (if smaller than we expected).

We reserved a room described as a "Superior King Suite" on the Booking reservation. However, when we arrived, our room had a queen sized bed, and was not a suite--actually was pretty tight space-wise around the bed (had to move a chair out & back to open the closet door). We talked to the office staff about this; at first they denied any issue, then said it must have been because the instant we reserved they must have had a big group do a reservation. At that point we couldn't switch rooms, but asked for a partial refund based on the room difference. After sending a follow-up email after we checked out, the manager did refund the charges for parking, which was perhaps around what the queen/king difference was. So they did try to make amends, which is commendable. But if I were to reserve again, I would double-check with Chipman Hill directly to ensure I was getting the room I was expecting.
