The receptuion was most helpful on my arrival. My room was well appointed and was very comfortable, witbtea / coffee biscuits and all amenties ie robes, ironing board, safe, shower shmapoos etc. The gardens were wll appinted had plenty of space and walking area with excellent views. The Orangey restaurant was excellent and the breakfasts were outstanding !! with a wide range of cook to order breakfast options and a full range of cereal, pastries, cheese and fruit juices, toast. The staff in restaurants went the extra mile and were very attentive, a big shout out Kira who was very amusing, cheerful and made sure I had everything I needed. Also, Denise in reception who was very attentive and engaging. My stay was very comfortable, plenty of on site parking. I am returnnig to Tunbridge Wells next week and after my stay there, I have booked in again at The Spa.
Nothing it was an excellent stay
Clean and comfortable.
The room was beautiful. Breakfast was good. Grounds are lovely.
We were not told that we would have to pay £15 to use the basic spa facilities after check out. We were there with a wedding party so no one had time before the wedding (early check in was an extra £30) to use the spa and the plan was for us all to go the next day. None of us bothered as it just seemed a bit of a rip off. Kind of pointless booking into a spa hotel.
Spacious room which was very clean. Breakfast offered a good range of choice and was well cooked. Spa facilities were well used and added to a relaxing stay, albeit the pool was a little small and soon became congested, preventing use for swimming.
In the round, we felt that the room price was too high for the facilities provided. In addition, we made a couple of attempts, in advance, to organise spa treatments for our stay, by email and by phone, but these were not responded to.
Everything
Pool was out of option and you have to pay extra to use the wellness area
The facilities and staff were great
There was no plug sockets next to the beds
The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
Spacious bedroom, staff generally very helpful and friendly especially in the bar and breakfast room. The manager on duty on check in and the evening was indifferent and offhand. Parking was free and plenty of spaces.
Beware this is a wedding function hotel Friday and Saturday. I stayed Friday night and moved to a very comfortable open lounge area to have an evening drink following a good meal in the bar area with pleasant background music for this to be drowned out with continuous blasts of disco music on high volume. Very unpleasant.
Very cozy and tastefully decorated rooms. Good selection of tea and coffee for the room. Great breakfast.
Location was just perfect for bus and train..Hotel and.staff lovely and beautiful grounds for our lovely after breakfast walk
Tuning into the TV we in our 80 ties didn't finds this easy.
This is a good hotel with good facilities such as gym , small pool, spa. Location is OK, reasonable walking distance into town. Free parking on site
The bathroom facilities are very old fashioned with no mixer tap for either sink or bath tub. The only shower is fixed overhead and (at least in my room) only can deliver water that's way too hot for comfort, even on the coldest setting, for some reason.
Staff excep
We just needed an hotel for the night and decided on the Spa Hotel, we are very pleased that we did. Situated just on the outskirts of town with ample parking - you can walk in to town if necessary. Our bedroom was very spacious and well appointed. We did not have time to make use of the spa area but the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable and they have gluten free toast on request, in a "designated" toaster. The staff were very polite and we would happily return.
Fabulous breakfast with exceptional service from staff and the server was an absolute ray of sunshine and cheered me up as I have recently experienced a significant bereavement. Truly amazing customer service.
Beautifully decorated, wonderful staff, and gorgeous gardens.
The gym was quite dated and worn-looking.
Excellent location with very good facilities. The staff are excellent. Kira in the restaurant has a cheerful, helpful and welcoming attitude. Its proximity both to Tunbridge Wells centre and the Common makes it a perfect place to visit the city.
All okay
We have been going to this hotel as a family for 6 years. Staff ate so friendly and professional and the range of Spa facilities are excellent. We have already booked in for 2027.
Lovely location, beautiful immediate grounds. Amazing afternoon tea made gf/df
Having to pay £10 a night to use a cot for my infant son, I’ve never been charged this in a hotel before.
Full of charm
Food was average
We had a lovely relaxing stay, the receptions staff were really friendly, lovely, helpful and efficient and I would praise them highly. The restaurant experience was bit different, whilst the staff were very friendly the actual service and delivery of food was too slow, both lunch an dinner were well over an hour between receiving our starters and our main course which is far too long. There was also some confusion on the set menu deal which was very confusing unless you read the small print. I complained and reception staff handled it very well otherwise it would have been very over priced. The spa was nice but I think the wellness centre is a bit over chlorinated and there could definitely be more beds for people as many struggled to find one in any area. It sounds like I'm nit picking and I don't mean to as our stay was nice but with a few small corrections it could be very much improved. Once again I would commend the girls on reception they are doing a fabulous job.
The garden is pretty and it has a pond. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a trousers press, vey convenient. Food was okay but unfortunately not one veggie in sight.
The location is not ideal if travelling by train. Only book if travelling by car or willing to get multiple taxis to get to town.
Nice hotel. Enjoyed the spa, although the changing facilities could be more spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast offering was good.
Meals were quite expensive in the restaurant.
We chose this hotel specifically because it had a swimming pool, as I was travelling with my daughter during very hot weather. Unfortunately, we only discovered when we arrived that children are restricted to particular swimming times each day. This was disappointing, as the pool had been a major reason for choosing the hotel and the restrictions weren’t something I had been aware of when booking. When we did use the pool during the designated children’s sessions, it didn’t feel particularly family-friendly, as other adult users were swimming lengths and seemed unhappy about children being in the pool, despite it being the allocated family time. On the positive side, our room had air conditioning, which was very welcome in the heat, and the restaurant and bar staff were absolutely lovely – friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, and the food and drinks we had in the bar one evening were also very good.
Breakfasts were very good - served by cheerful, polite and attentive staff. Excellent facilities - and free, easily accessible car parking.
The piped music in the eating areas! I'm not certain why this is necessary.
I have stayed many times over the decades. I know what I am getting, but sense that it's become/becoming a victim of cost cutting. The location and parking are particularly good for through travellers. Town access on foot is a pleasant walk across the common, and the Pantiles is just a 10-15 minute walk away. The Spa can cater for large events. The grounds are pleasant for a constitutional walk.
It felt like some staff members were just going through the motions on a shift. I think the hotel needs better and more attentive front of house leadership to elevate standards and raise staff morale. The net result was a neutral, utilitarian experience verging on the indifferent. The lounges by reception are not cosy, especially in winter. I think they could do with a rethink to make it feel less like you're sitting in a drafty lobby and more of a place where you might actually want to join friends for drinks (especially as the bar itself is quite small for the size of hotel). The bar service (inc. bar food) was quite slack, and inattentive. The bar food was pretty good, so it was front of house that let things down; dinner plates were left uncleared for long periods of time, even on our table when we'd long finished. It was actually quite bizarre how long they were left for with staff passing mere inches away. I would probably go back, but I am starting to look seriously at other options in Tunbridge Wells, which is a shame when one has been a loyal guest.
Lovely hotel, nothing was too much trouble and the staff were lovely and helpful. The room size was large and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The air con helped in the hot weather. We had a great stay. Breakfast was plentiful and not rushed. Dinner was delicious.
Beautiful old hotel, clean and staff helpful. Difficulty reaching room on the 3rd floor with a large suitcase. I feel it was overpriced, no appreciation when a family spend basically thousands in the hotel, not as much as free jugs of water. I genuinely feel ripped off- a group of 21 of us stayed - full whack . Not even a thank you!
We were given a disabled room. perhaps as I asked for a walk in shower The room was spacious and comfortable with plenty cupboard space and good enough lighting The pool and gym were excellent and I didn't book a treatment or have a steam or sauna The air con worked fine and the staff at reception were very helpful We did not have breakfast as were still full from the night before
I would just say that the shower curtain was a bit smelly and perhaps a screen would be more inviting More than once coffee bags would have been nice in the room but we didn't ask for more
Clean room and staff friendly and helpful .
The view from the room was just a wall, also I had to drag my 20 kg suitcase up 4 steep steps and back down 4 more when I reached the 3rd floor, no offer of assistance. There was a large group of us for the weekend and we spent substantial money in the bar , but when we asked for jugs of water, we had to pay for bottles! I think that was a bit miserable! Pizza oven broken since May - menu poor for groups on the patio -
The room was stunning. Most comfortable bed ever and the coffee machine in the room was a great touch. Staff was exceptional and the grounds and spa were lovely
Nothing really major
Going to a wedding nearby and too late and too far to travel home after so we opted to stay here as it was fairly near to wedding venue, lovely entrance to what once must have been a beautiful home. Front desk staff very friendly helpful and polite. Note though when I called during the week to ask a couple of questions, the reservation line is 100% of time on answer phone which quite frankly is not acceptable, I did eventually get a call back but however missed the call back and despite of me returning the call within 2 minutes it once again went straight to answer phone. The ground are quite pretty especially the area where I’m guessing wedding take place, this however is where it stops as the rest of the hotel is tired and in need of updating and refreshing. Our room cosy deluxe was adequate but not more than that, but again the old fashioned air conditioning unit was actually very good and powerful. Breakfast was included in the package shower when my husband asked for an Americano coffee he was told that there would be an extra charge for that as only regular coffee or tea was included in the breakfast package. I have never come across this before in any hotel in any country and quite frankly find it unacceptable. Again breakfast was adequate but not anything to special. Would I stay here again probably not.
Beautifully refurbished, every member of staff was engaged and welcoming. It had a great feel, an independent hotel that values it guests and delivers excellent service.
Everything
Well presented hotel in a good location. Lots of facilities and a short walk from town
Nothing
Breakfast was poor and very greasy The room was on the top floor in the roof and therefore too warm with an AC that didn't work very well The bathroom was very nice but let down by a very weak shower Massage was absolutely excellent Danny on reception was lovely but most staff disinterested
Breakfast Shower Room
Beautiful hotel set in gorgeous grounds. Situated within walking distance to the Pantiles and high street. The rooms are well presented and clean. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Although staff are very friendly, but customer service is very poor. I sent them an email and they did not respond for 16 days although I called them a couple of times.
Air conditioned bedroom fully controllable
Staff could be a little more attentive in the restaurant
I can only say that the Spa Hotel flatters to deceive. The frontage gives the impression of a grand five star hotel and the reception and lounge area are to match. However the bar lacks atmosphere and the decor is mostly 50 shades of grey, grey walls, grey carpet, grey wood work etc., it's all a bit yesterday. The food was quite unremarkable. Diner was okay but not memorable and breakfast suffered from the bain of many hotels; a partially working toaster that was so slow it would have been quicker to show the bread a heated argument! How difficult is it to get some decent working toasters? Our room, on the top floor was large but didn't quite cut it. The tea tray set up where there's no socket for the kettle, a wall mounted TV that didn't swivel towards the bed and a wardrobe with the hanger rail fixed so high my wife couldn't reach the hangers; all daft things that detract from a top notch room. But, above all the bathroom, one of the largest hotel bathrooms I've seen had one of the smallest baths ever with just a spray-head over the bath as a shower. The tiny bath made for a really narrow shower with a nasty flimsy, steel, sharp edged soap tray intruding into the showering space. Just seemed rediculous given the floor area available for a bigger bath and a nice separate shower cubicle. The hotel boasts of having been refurbished so I just wonder if perhaps our room had not yet been done.
Great spa, clean rooms nice garden
Draft beers
This is my go to hotel when I visit family. Never disappoints. Beautiful hotel, very clean, wonderful air conditioned bedrooms ( which were so welcome as I was there during a heatwave). Parking a dream, which in this area is almost unheard of. One thing I must mention. It looks like more training has been given on allergies. Mum is Coeliac and for the first time her food was served on a plate that had a sticker confirming gluten free which was very reassuring. I wish I could name and thank all staff as they are all so helpful and welcoming. I must mention the fab young man who was managing the bar on Sunday Evening ( wish I'd got his name). He was rushed off his feet but took time to go through menu and then delivered our order in person to the kitchen to ensure the chef understood the dietary needs and used the separate fryer etc for our order. That young man should be applauded for his Care and knowledge . Roll on our next visit.

The location is great. Electric car charging facility is a bonus
Firstly, I’ve stayed here a few times, but, there are niggles. It’s a 4* hotel, that, in places is feeling tired But, my bigger gripes. The iron in the bedrooms are the horrible cheap electric ones, with no steam. They don’t get a crease out of anything. Worse, their cables are threaded through the ironing board, so, it’s always snagging. And feels cheap The clothes rails in rooms have plentiful hangars. But, the room I was in, had double bar set up, but the lower bar was too close to the floor to hang men’s shirts on, and the upper bar wasn’t far enough away from the lower bar, so, your ( freshly ironed, still creased) shirts could not hang freely, and you ended up with more creases. Cracking result! And don’t get me started on the drinks prices in the bar. Coke is only served in 200ml bottles, and works out 50% more expensive than beer for a pint. (And they charge you something like £2.50 for unlimited water, which I presume is tap water (albeit the menu says filtered)
I stayed for several months at the Spa Hotel. The staff were excellent and I would recommend a stay.
Atmosphere is very friendly & the staff are very helpful
The spa hotel is a lovely hotel , I used to go all the time but hadn’t in a while and needed to get away for the night and thought it would be the perfect place , which it is!! The staff are always so so lovely and welcoming ! I went into the new wellness suite this time which was unreal!!! Thank you so much <3
Faded glamour style hotel. Beautiful grounds! Lovely old building. I don’t usually book to stay places like this as I feel they’re generally catered to an older age group - a bit ‘old school’. Only stayed for one night but the place grew on me - I felt quite fond of it towards the end.
We didn’t eat there and I’m pleased about that. The restaurants/breakfast room and other certain areas have a corporate, outdated vibe in my opinion.
Beautiful garden and building, well located (10 min walk to town through park); lovely decorated rooms.
Impressive building and grounds. Staff were very good. Parking was generally free and available. Pleasant location in good area.
Overall, very nice. The only significant failing was the (modestly-sized) bar closing at midnight, even for residents. So you can't come back from an evening out and get a late drink before going to bed. Aside from that, no complaints.
We recently stayed at the hotel for a wedding, which was also being held at the venue, and I genuinely couldn’t fault the wedding itself. The staff throughout our stay were friendly, welcoming, and professional, and we were really happy with the service we received. Customer service was excellent, and the manager we spoke to the following day was also very kind and understanding. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by the room we were given. It was over 30°C during the day, and we were allocated a room with no air conditioning, while everyone else in our wedding party had rooms with working AC. We weren’t informed at check-in that our room didn’t have air conditioning or that there were any issues with it. We also weren’t told how to contact reception or what number to call if we needed assistance. There were two fans in the room, which suggested staff were already aware that the air conditioning wasn’t working. However, one of the fans didn’t even work, and the other simply circulated the hot air. The windows only opened a small amount, so it was impossible to cool the room down naturally. As a result, we had a very uncomfortable and sleepless night. Because we only had one key card, we couldn’t easily go down to reception during the night without disturbing the other person trying to sleep. The following morning, someone else from our party had to tell us the number to call for reception, as we had never been given it. When we phoned, they initially seemed unaware of any issue with the room, which was surprising considering the fans already in place. They offered to come and take a look, but no one ever arrived. We then spoke to the manager in person, who was lovely and acknowledged how unbearably hot it had been the previous day. However, this made it even more disappointing that we had been placed in a room without air conditioning in the first place. We were offered either a late checkout or a £20 refund, but for a room costing £220, neither option felt like adequate compensation given the circumstances and the lack of sleep we experienced. Overall, the staff and the wedding were fantastic, and I genuinely couldn’t fault either of those. It’s just a shame that our overnight stay was overshadowed by something that could have been avoided or, at the very least, communicated honestly at check-in.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean room
Lovely grounds and calm atmosphere.
The hotel has a very nice large area, the staff is friendly and attentive. The room was clean, well-kept. The room has everything you need: iron, ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes, tea, coffee, kettle, cookies. A big advantage is the air conditioning. The bed and pillows are comfortable.
For such a large hotel, the pool is very small. It is not comfortable for more than 3-4 people to stay at the same time. Also, there are only 5 sunbeds near the pool, which is also not enough for such a large pool. Some visitors left their things on the floor because the sunbeds were already taken. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night after attending a wedding precisely for the SPA center and the pool. The Booking system states that there are no age restrictions for visiting the pool, but in fact children can visit the pool only from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. And no one at the reception warned us about this, so we missed the morning opportunity to visit the pool with the child. And at 11 it was already time to check out. This was very disappointing, because it was precisely for the pool that we stayed at this hotel.
Excellent stay at the Spa Hotel..I was upgraded and my room was amazing. Fantastic food and Customer Service, thankyou for a great stay!
The gardens are so beautiful and the hotel is historic and full of atmosphere. Location near the forest and common great and an easy walk to town too!
The rooms could do with a little modernizing but they were very clean and comfortable
Friendly helpful staff . Lovely pool . Good breakfast !
I liked everything !
The room was spacious, the air con was very effective
Coffee machine wasn't working in my room
There was a very warm welcome from reception, the facilities were very good and the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was of a very high standard.
Good solid hotel
Breakfast could have been on time, but they had 3 weddings that day so those guests were prioritised!
My brother kindly gave my wife a Voucher for 2 to their "Chapel Down Afternoon Tea" to celebrate her recent 80th birthday. They offered to join us to make a nice family outing. The good news is that the food offering was largely first class. Hot arancini balls to start, followed by warm scones and generous servings of clotted cream and strawberry jam, then superbly fresh finger sandwiches with interesting fillings and finally a selection of four cakes each. Tea could be chosen from a detailed menu but Earl Grey was fine for me. The disappointing aspect was the room. Orange and brown upholstered chairs, fake wood tables, no sign of crisp white table cloths or napkins, tables covered in previous guests cutlery and plates. More school canteen than 4-star hotel (previous owners The Goring Family would be horrified). My own grouse was that all the Blue Badge spaces adjacent to the hotel were all reserved and unusable but without a single vehicle occupying these valuable spaces. If this is the hotel policy, then it should be advised to prospective guests on booking so that we too can have the chance to make a reservation - as it happens my brother and I both have Blue Badges and as he is particularly immobile, a park space near the hotel would have been very welcome. The other concern related to the hotel admin. They phoned me three times in the previous 48 hours to confirm my booking and then staff had difficulty producing our bill on departure.
Great spa, beautiful room on top floor, delicious breakfast and wonderful service from the staff!
Breakfast service was very good
Bar food in the evening
Beautiful grounds at the back. The room was comfortable and well equipped with a very clean bathroom. The spa was nice with a good sized pool, big steam room, mixed sauna plus a women's only sauna in the changing room. The walk across the common to town was convenient. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was generous. I'd definitely stay again.
The Sunday Full English buffet wasn't great - should have ordered from the menu instead as this was good the previous day (and was available, though with a 15 - 20 minute wait). Spa changing room was a bit small and dated - became crowded and not easy to get changed afterwards. It's a shame the new spa with extra facilities isn't included with regular bookings.
Good standard room for the price, very clean. Family run hotel beats the big chains.
Small basic TV
Lovely clean generous sized rooms. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Reception staff and housekeeping staff very helpful. Breakfast was lovely - buffet for pastries, cold meats, yogurt and cereal. Plus a menu with lots of choices. Staff very courteous and helpful.
There were plenty of facilities and staff were helpful. We only stayed overnight for a wedding so didn’t use the facilities.
The bathrooms are old and a bit tired. There was a loud air conditioning unit outside our window. At check out the staff tried to charge us late check out while we were checking out early!
Great stay - Nice room. Was gice4n a free upgrade which was nice.
Shower wasnt great.
Great ambience downstairs with the background music Staff lovely Nice decor Location Option of spa facilities Bar
Noise - after travelling over 6 hours, we where desperate for a good night sleep only to discover an event on that was underneath (near) to our room so could hear the music continue until 12pm…obviously not late but not convenient when your over tired with plans the next day- maybe guests should be told on arrival or automatically allocated a room in a quieter area if they are not participating in the hotel event! The window blinds have chains so high I could barely reach to close them, especially the bedroom one that has a table in the way, luckily my husband could reach. (Only mentioning these things because it asks).
My husband and I chose to have Sunday lunch in The Orangery restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant has a light and airy outlook over the beautiful grounds, the menu was varied and the service was superb. When the food arrived, it was absolutely delicious and portions were generous given it was a fixed price menu. We were looked after by Maisie who was incredibly helpful especially as I am a vegetarian. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she is a superb representative of the hotel. Would thoroughly recommend eating here; we have done so several times previously and never been disappointed. Today's visit was made extra special due to the service so many thanks, Maisie.
The building and grounds are beautiful The entrance is impressive
The beds were quite hard as was the pillows The mind the step signs could be more visible
Amazing breakfast, beautiful grounds and great room.
Very small room for an international traveller for a two day stay
Beautifully decorated, excellent staff & facilities. Professionally run.
Not a reflection on the staff or facilities but rooms were fairly noisy. I could hear conversations, showers etc from other guests in their rooms.
Room good, as was breakfast.
Clean and great service - the staff are very welcoming
Beautiful gardens and friendly reception and bar staff. Nice walk through the park to the centre. Comfy bed and nice shower. Very clean. I did not have time to use the spa facilities sadly.
Attic room was a bit stuffy even with air-conditioning on.
Lovely hotel, excellent rooms and spa and staff generally all very pleasant and welcoming. Grace in particular on the front desk is superb. Friendly and personable and always welcoming. A real asset to the team there. Thank you.
Food stops a little early at 9am when it’s in the bar.
I had a fabulous stay at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge. The cosy deluxe room was honestly one of the cutest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The little snug area was such a lovely touch and made the room feel extra special and comfortable. There were loads of plug sockets and mirrors, which made getting ready so much easier, and the room still felt really spacious with plenty of room to relax. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and cosy without being cramped. As a solo traveller, I felt totally safe and relaxed throughout my stay, which made such a difference. I would definitely stay again, and a special shout out to DANI on reception — she couldn’t have been more smiley or helpful if she tried. She really made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived and was a credit to the hotel. The barman also went out of his way to track down a bottle of exactly what I wanted… although apologies to my bank manager afterwards 😂 My only small gripe was that none of the plug sockets had USB ports. If even one or two were updated to include USB charging, it would make the experience pretty much perfect. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, charming and relaxing stay.
Location and staff are always friendly
Clean, friendly and helpful staff, great food and fantastic grounds.
The breakfast was super like always. We love staying at The Spa it's the best Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. The staff are great and very friendly. We enjoy the fitness facilities during our stay. We had some room service which was very good. There is nothing negative I can say about the Spa. When we are in the U.K. we always stay at the Spa. We highly recommend it. We would just like to say thank you to you all for our great stay.
Nothing.
Clean. Good choice at breakfast. Pleasant staff
The property is clean but our room was tired. Cracked sink, cracked tiles etc
Lovely staff, great room and delicious breakfast
Lovely green area , nice spa , clean . Food was up to standard .
Wish swimming pool is heated. And bigger . And all the door gets very noisy when others in & out , you can heard it from my room.
I came down the stairs and fell on the last stair, which caused me to fracture my leg. Which led to breaking it. I was offered a ice pack but never received one. They insisted making me sign a document while unable to walk properly. That was all they were proactive in. The spa was crowded by outside. Kids jumping in the pool. Food below par. Bad birthday.
Food Staff Spa Stairs

Great location!! Good value for money!
Could do with a update in rooms
The food was simply amazing, the Service and rooms, including the grounds, was absolutely stunning!
The reception team were very welcoming and thoughtful. Tina in particular was very kind (I was unwell and had breakfast in my room).
All good. Easy parking.
Clean and warm , lovely room
Warm welcome. Room upgrade which was great. Friendly staff at breakfast and on reception. Lovely big room.
My windows only had full blinds so it would be good to have the option of half and half
No fridge in the room only 1 still water

Nice lady working in breakfast room.
Moved rooms as the first one was over a noisy kitchen vent - moved to a room.at the front which had a 5.55am laundry delivery lorry clattering outside v loudly & its also on a busy road.. (Autistic daughter struggles with noise etc which I had explained but was moved from one noisy room to another) but the room was nicely done up, shower worked well. The pool was OK, smaller than in pics and v heavy on the chlorine, also was too full of people, hen night ladies etc so no room to swim & there was a squabble in the changing rooms over space. Generally not a relaxing spa experience at all. I suppose due to Bank Holiday it was busy and a bit disorganised. 20 min walk into town & not the best walk back at night so ubered - it's not close to any shops etc. Fish & chips at £25 is a bit silly so we got deliveroo which was fun but I'd rather have eaten in the hotel if it had a nicer ambience and less extortionate menu. Shame really, it felt like a 1980s spa experience, not 2026.
Awful stay. Firstly we were given a room overlooking a noisy kitchen vent - they moved us as my autistic grown up daughter struggles with noise - so they moved us to a room overlooking the road where at 5.50am the laundry trucks clatter their delivery outside. Pool was OK but small and no limit on people so was impossible to get changed/swim without getting tangled up with someone, there was a squabble in the changing rooms and in general too many people for too small a space. Food was mediocre and for £180 for a dark twin room overlooking a vent or sharing a double with my daughter in a hot noisy room overlooking the road it was in no way a peaceful or 'spa' experience. Aircon didn't work either. Won't be back, please spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I don't mind spending money for a night to rest and recuperate - this hotel made me want to go home.
Great hotel
Noisy extractor fan in bathroom and pool however still enjoyed room and would come back
Good sized room. The gym was handy.
