The welcome on arrival plus the helpful attitude of the manager after arriving later than expected. The staff were friendly, efficient and very polite whether we n the evening at the bar or in the morning at breakfast. The breakfast itself was very good quality and the cappuccinos were excellent.

Everything was just great. Only minor issue was the shower door which would not remain closed.

This is one of my favourite hotels - staff really friendly - they remember your names, and the food is delicious with amazing views of the commons from the restaurant

Everything about Mount Edgcumbe was great. The decor, the comfortable rooms, dinner and breakfast both delicious, great location in parkland within walking distance of excellent shops and The Pantiles. Most of all the staff who were, without exception, friendly, helpful and nice. Fantastic value for money.

The location is fantastic, close to the town but very peaceful at night. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly. The beds really comfortable. We both really enjoyed our stay.

Mount Edgcumbe was a beautiful hotel and one which much thought had been given to the interior designer. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. We wished we had been staying longer and would certainly highly recommend the hotel.

We were up graded to a suite - thank you! All decor in whole place was lovely, rooms super clean and up together. The bar and dining area was great, staff friendly and helpful. Food very good. Would definitely stay again.

The steep walk from the station on a very hot day. I should have waited for a taxi! However when I phoned the hotel they sent a member of staff to carry my case, which was great.

The property kindly accommodated a late check in as an exception to their 10pm policy, which I was really grateful for. The room was spectacular. Decor throughout the property, including the restaurant outstanding

Small and characterful hotel set amid the greenery of Tunbridge Wells common, but only a short walk from the Pantiles and other attractions. Rooms have been stylishly modernised without losing their period charm, nor compromising their comfort. Good service from friendly and welcoming staff. Very good breakfast.

Dinner food, though adequately tasty and well-prepared, didn't quite live up to the overall standard.

Loved this hotel, beautiful decor, fabulous staff. Dinner and Breakfast were great. Would defo stay here if we returned to the area. A small Fridge in the room would have been a bonus, however we did walk down to the bar and were given a bottle of cold water and a glass of ice cubes.

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The room was beautiful and had air con and heating so good for all weather conditions. The room was very spacious, it had a stand alone bath in the room as well as a bathroom with a shower. Tea and coffee selection was excellent and a few homemade cookies were delicious. The staff in the hotel and pub were great and the food was delicious. The location on the mount was beautiful surrounded by cliffs and trees and a short walk to town.

Absolutely beautiful rooms, cosy nooks and dining area. Breakfasts menu had such a great choice - truly something for every taste! Our bed was very comfy and the room was well equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, assortment of teas and coffees, biscuits, hair dryer, shower toiletries. Very clean. Staff was so friendly and helpful. They even stored our luggage past check-out time. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you!!!

Great location near town but very quiet and off street parking (low sports car friendly just a small speed bump). Food was great the rooms are very high for this budget and just a well room hotel. I will be coming back it really is a great spot.

The hotel was very pretty, with old furniture, in the middle of a park. My room was great with a bathtub in it. Good breakfast

A charming and quirky place close to the centre of town, but feeling as if it is in the countryside! The staff were very friendly and efficient, the room was great, and the restaurant was excellent (for both breakfast and dinner).

I have stayed here many times for one reason, it is a great hotel and pub, lovely staff, great food and lovely rooms!

This really is a great place with fantastic food. The breakfast choice is very good with excellent quality. The evening meal choice is equally as good! The staff are always amazing when I stay here.

We absolutely fell in love with this place and will definitely be returning—next time with more time to properly enjoy the pub, restaurant, outdoor areas, and nearby walking paths. The design is truly something special—quirky. Whoever was behind it has immaculate taste, and every detail feels carefully considered. Felt like living in a manor house. I also appreciated the buds and flowers in the vase on the tables. Our room was on the smaller side, which we knew, but for a one-night stay it was perfectly fine. What really stood out was the food in the restaurant—absolutely delicious—and the cozy atmosphere of the pub, which we were especially grateful for since we arrived in the rain after a long journey. The staff deserve a special mention: professional, efficient, and clearly well-trained. At the restaurant, we were served by a young staff member on his very first day, and he was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and impressively professional. The food in the evening was to die for. Breakfast was delicious and was to be chosen from a menu, not buffet style. A memorable stay all around. Can't wait to return to Kent and to Mount Edgcumbe.

The building has been renovated and maintained to a very high level. The staff are all exceptional at what they do. Efficient, professional and friendly. The location is close to the centre but very quiet set in gorgeous surroundings on the common.

Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and happy! The accommodation is superb - we stayed in Room 4 this time! Make time for a bath, it's worth it! This time we had dinner too. Fabulous! It's a wonderful hotel and location. Can't wait to return!

There's nothing we didn't like.

We loved this hotel. The location was great and the conservatory area was particularly lovely as were the staff. The whole place felt loved with lots of attention to detail, for example, little shortbread biscuits in a jar in the room, excellent tea and coffee and great smelling toiletries. The rooms and common areas were well looked after and kept clean and the food was very delicious. Can't wait to return!

In the cave area just off the bar, there was a smell of damp so we avoided sitting there. Parking was difficult and it would have been nice to have been able to reserve a space as we had travelled a fair distance.
