This is an immaculate hotel that mixes modern amenities with (what felt like it to an uneducated tourist) a more traditional Japanese experience. It was comfortable, clean and the food was superb!

おばあちゃんの誕生日祝いで宿泊しました。お部屋が広くて3人でものんびり出来ましたし、事前に連絡したらお部屋までケーキを持ってきていただけました。おばあちゃんも喜んでいたので嬉しかったです。 旅館のロビーも部屋も清潔感あり広々とした感じでとてもゆったりした気持ちで泊まることが出来ました。周りの部屋に人がどれくらいいたのかわかりませんが、部屋から外の音は聞こえなくて快適でした。

もう少し温泉のエリアが広いと嬉しかったです。でも更衣室は清潔感あり混み合わなければ快適でした。

El hotel en general está bien. Te hacen descalzarte nada más llegar, cosa que me parece un buen punto. Los baños también están bien con la piscina tanto interior como exterior. El hall del hotel es bastante bonito.

En líneas generales los vibes que transmite es de hotel que en otra época debió ser bueno, pero se nota muy desgastado. Hay manchas en los pasillos del tatami, en el techo de la habitación... Las habitaciones son grandes, sí, pero muy frías, se notan muy vacías. El baño de la habitación no está mal, pero no estaría de más una actualización de la ducha por ejemplo, es un mando que se nota muy viejo y desgastado. En otro orden de cosas, aunque lo esconden tras la sostenibilidad, es bastante cutre que por el precio de la habitación, te cobren cosas que en otros hoteles son totalmente gratuitas como pueden ser un cepillo de dientes, peine, etc. En resumen, se nota que el hotel debió tener sus días de gloria, pero desde luego no son los de ahora. Calidad precio, me pareció un hotel caro para lo que ofrece.

We had some relaxed days at this lovely hotel in Hakone. The room was spacious with all the necessary convince and the staff was very helpful, friendly and kind.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit privatem Onsen am Balkon. Nach Gora mit der Seilbahn zu kommen ist definitiv ein Erlebnis. Das Hotel ist relativ modern, schönes Abendessen und Frühstücksbuffet im Rahmen der Halbpension. Personal sehr freundlich, wir haben leider etwas im Zimmer vergessen und das Hotel war sofort bereit, uns die Sachen nachzuschicken, bestens verpackt.

Petit déjeuner axe sur le salé, si déguster les bouillons, omelette ...etc a 07:00 ne vous dérange pas alors vous êtes au bon endroit Le service minimum, versant "hypocrite" et réglementaire certainement . Schuttle uniquement disponible pour venir à l'hôtel mais pas en repartir. Encore faut il le savoir. Pour 1200 m en pente jusqu'à la gare, l'aller retour ne coûte pas bien cher et occuperait le chauffeur qui semble trouver les journées bien longues

歯ブラシがついてないと思ってなかった。お風呂の床や木桶がヌルヌルしていた。 サウナがぬるかった。 シャワーヘッドは、色々変化させれてよかったが、ヘッドの向きが変えられないが持つには重すぎてお年寄りには難しいと思った。 床を裸足で歩けるのは良いけれど、朝食の場では抵抗あるところもあった。

Es war ein sehr geräumiges Zimmer und sehr freundlich und zuvorkommendes Personal.

Das Abendessen im Restaurant hatte zu der Zeit wo wir hier waren, lediglich Gerichte mit Fisch im Angebot. Sei es in der Vorspeise, im Hauptgang oder sonst wo. Kein Gericht ohne Fisch… Meckern auf hohem Niveau, ganz klar aber hier sollte es mehr Angebot geben bei den Menü Preisen!

The private onsen on our balcony.

Overpriced while lacking basic facilities and having underwhelming service levels. This prices itself as a luxury hotel but the fridge in our room didn’t chill drinks - reception staff told us it was not a fridge, it simply ‘kept the temperature’ but were vague about which temperature it was supposed to keep. It was clearly just a poorly functioning fridge. Every other hotel I have stayed at in Japan - many at much lower prices - has a working fridge in the room. They also had more friendly, helpful staff. The selection of food at breakfast was adequate but again lesser than at other, better priced hotels. The redeeming feature which went some way to justifying the price of the room was the private onsen on our balcony, which we enjoyed.

La location immersa nel verde, la camera spaziosa e l’onsen pubblico. La struttura fornisce servizio navetta dalla stazione di Gora, molto comodo considerando la strada per raggiungerlo.

Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und abgeschieden – ideal, wenn man genau das sucht und bewusst entspannen möchte. Wer allerdings gerne noch etwas Leben, Restaurants oder Geschäfte in der direkten Umgebung hätte, könnte die Lage als etwas zu ruhig empfinden.

Es war insgesamt alles in Ordnung, allerdings haben wir teilweise die Herzlichkeit und Zuvorkommenheit etwas vermisst, die wir während unserer Reise durch Japan sonst überall erleben durften. Der Umgang wirkte teilweise eher distanziert und weniger aufmerksam, als wir es von anderen Hotels und Begegnungen in Japan gewohnt waren.

The hotel was beautiful, the room spacious. We had a private onsen, and there was a public onsen as well. We had dinner at the hotel only one night which was an amazing multi-course meal (although quite expensive). The breakfast was an incredible spread.

The dinner was excellent but very expensive. The room was beautiful and spacious, but the kids slept on thin mattresses on the floor. Although this might be more traditional, they were not comfortable, so there's a tradeoff. Since we didn't need the expensive hotel meal the second night, we ate locally, but the town is very posh/quiet, and it was difficult to find a restaurant that was open. We ended up getting take-out pizza from a craft brewery (the beer and pizza was actually great, but we couldn't find any Japanese options that were open). The hotel offered shuttle service to the train but not until later in the morning, so we had to walk 15 minutes (albeit downhill) to catch the train. If I had to do it again with my family, I would probably stay somewhere with more eating options and a little more lively and less remote (e.g. south end of the Lake).

お風呂の排水が悪い。 他のお客様の洗った泡や髪の毛が浮いている。 歯ブラシだけはアメニティーに入れて欲しい。

birthdayプレートをお願いしたのですが、お部屋にサプライズでお届けしてくれて、写真も撮って頂きました。 ホテルのスタッフの方もみんな親切でとても素晴らしかったです。

The view from the breakfast room and our room was fantastic. Our onsen on the balcony was really nice, too. The breakfast had many options and if you like Japanese food then you’ll like the buffet.

The room was too small for four people. We travelled with our kids and once the futons were on the floor, we was too messy. That’s also because there is. I space for clothes etc so you had to have your suitcase on the floor too and couldn’t unpack. There was mold around the AC which is probably hard because of the super high humidity during August, but a hotel this expensive must clean it regularly. And we chose „light cleaning“ which meant the staff did not even take the dirty cups and glasses out of the room. They only but new towels and onsen clothes, the two things we could have used a second day easily. The service during breakfast was okay but not good, there was always something that needed to be refilled and we had to ask. Last breakfast slot is 9-9:30, they close at 10.

Lokalizacja super, jeśli się wie po co się jedzie do Hakone. Spokojna okolica, ciche otoczenie, onsen na balkonie bardzo wygodny i zapewnia intymność. Godne polecenia - pod warunkiem takich właśnie oczekiwań.

Hotel molto bello circondato dal verde dei boschi di Hakone. Camera spaziosa con terrazzo con vista colline e boschi, e vasca onsen privata spettacolare. Staff gentile come in tutto il Giappone.

Temperatura della vasca onsen altissima, ma si può regolare. Posizione della struttura (seppur in un luogo molto bello, verde e tranquillo) un pò scomoda se non si possiede un mezzo privato. Navetta dall'hotel alla stazione comoda ma con pochi orari disponibili.

Das Hotelgebäude ist sehr schön, wenn auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und man konnte sich gut auf englisch verständigen. Das Frühstück war lecker und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Das Abendessen war ebenfalls gut. Den angebotene Shuttle-Service zum Bahnhof Gora sollte man in Anspruch nehmen, da das Hotel nur über sehr steile Straßen zugänglich ist.

Das Zimmer war nicht 100% sauber (Flecken auf dem Tisch und im Bad, Streifen auf dem Tatami-Boden). Insgesamt ist das Hotel meiner Meinung nach zu teuer. Gora ist ein sehr schöner Ort, von dem aus man viele Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell erreichen kann, aber das Hotel an sich wäre mir den hohen Preis nicht noch einmal wert.

No tattoos in the onsen. Three of us are tattooed and could not use the onsen. The onsen was the reason we booked this hotel but we didn’t know that tattooed people would not be allowed. This was a very big disappointment for us.

Le calme et la sérénité du lieu. Les onsen privatifs sont vraiment un plus, les publics très agréables aussi. Le service est parfait.

Hôtel situé en haut d'une montagne, une magnifique vue, service de navette gratuite disponible sur réservation et appelle, accueil très chaleureux et aux petits soins, on peut se promener en Yukata et en chaussettes dans l'hôtel, tatamis dans la plus part de l'hôtel. Chambre spacieuse et bain privatif au Top !!

​Une arrivée un peu "aventure" : On a galéré à réserver la navette a l'arrivée et on a dû finir à pied avec les valises... Bon, c'était totalement de notre faute car, n'ayant pas de forfait local, on ne savait pas du tout qu'il fallait utiliser les cabines téléphoniques ! Un petit mot d'explication ou un conseil là-dessus en amont aurait été un vrai plus pour nous éviter les kilomètres à pied. ​Les repas : La nourriture est très bonne, mais les prix restent tout de même assez chers par rapport à notre budget. ​Note : Malgré ces petits détails (et notre propre étourderie !), cela ne nous a pas empêchés de passer un séjour mémorable. D'où notre 10/10 bien mérité

Ils fournissent des kimonos. - funiculaire à 5 min à pied. Attention impossible de se rendre à pied à l’hôtel car ça monte beaucoup mais il y a des taxis où la navette de l’hôtel (il faut appeler pour prévenir de votre arrivée). Possibilité de manger à l’hôtel. Très bon petit déjeuner.

Loved this hotel, it really did feel like a luxurious property. Rooms were huge and comfortably fit a family of four. The spa on the balcony was fantastic. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Location was also great.

Very beautiful hotel and area. The private onsen was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and everything was very clean and well maintained.

We did not like that it was difficult to get there from the station, with a very steep hill to climb (Taxi highly recommended). It was difficult to reach a restaurant or buy something for dinner outside the hotel.

Le bain onsen privatif, le menu du soir compris dans la demi pension, le large choix du buffet petit déjeuner, la possibilité de porter un yukata tout le temps y compris pendant les repas ( chaussettes incluses), chambre spacieuse avec tatami.

Le bruit et cris des enfants dans le bain de nos voisins de chambre et également dans les couloirs. Le bain n'est pas une piscine municipale où les enfants sautent partout. L'eau coulait partout sur notre terrasse ! Nous espérions à la base se retrouver dans un endroit très calme.

The hotel and the whole ryokan experience was extraordinary. The food is superb and private onsen bath on the balcony is one of its kind. Highly recommend.

We stayed in a family room with a private onsen and it was magical. Coming home each day after walking all day it was absolute bliss soaking in the onsen before bed each day.

We loved all of it. The kids found it hard keeping quiet in the hotel. It is very quiet - even in the hallways, but that isn't really a complaint. More a culture shock for the kids!

Stayed in the new Annex building. It was quiet and room had beautiful views. Having the personal private bath was easy too.

It is a steep walk uphill from the main Gora village area without a bus stop nearby. The hotel shuttle bus will take you down in the morning but you need to take taxis more than expected.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the in-room onsen — a really nice touch. Meals were tasty; we went with the breakfast option and had à la carte dinner one night. It’s also very conveniently located near Gora Station, making it easy to do the Hakone loop.

We called the shuttle line from the train station a few times but could never get through — it was always automated and told us to call back later, so we ended up taking a Uber/cab instead. The bidet wasn't working when we checked in, and while we appreciated the room change, it was a bit of a hassle after a long day of travel — staff should really check rooms before guests check in. The meals, while tasty, had limited options that weren't quite suitable for our family, which is why we skipped the dinner package on other nights. It also would've helped to have Uber Eats as a backup, but the hotel doesn't allow outside food deliveries.

We loved the onsen, meals and quiet room. It was our second stay at this hotel ands we keep fond memories of both times. The breakfast buffet especially was our children's favorite with massive choice and good quality.

The private onsen was amazing! very rich buffet at breakfast. The place is quiet and relaxing, in fact a bit isolated but not too difficult to reach. The village with restaurants etc. is just 15 min walk away (on a rather steep slope).

値段の割には高級感があり、落ち着いた雰囲気で都会の喧騒を忘れさせるお宿です。アメニティも有料の歯ブラシ、カミソリ、シャワーキャップ以外はお部屋にも大浴場にも揃っているのでこだわりがなければ荷物を減らせます。クチコミで品数が少ないというのを目にしましたが充分な種類のブッフェスタイルなので朝食付きプランがおすすめです。スタッフの皆さんもとても礼儀正しく、親切でこのお値段ならまた泊まりたいなと感じました。

ケーブルカーの中強羅から徒歩で5分程、昼間なら問題なく歩けますが(と言っても女性1人はおすすめしません)街灯も無く、茂みが多いので宿の送迎を利用した方がベターです。また宿周辺には飲食店やコンビニ等は一切見かけません。宿のレストラン(高級コース料理)を予約していない人は必ず何か食べてから行くか予め食べ物を用意しないと売店のカップ麺になってしまう点は要注意！
