Kadensho is a great place to experience a more traditional and authentic side of Japan. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature and in a lovely area of Arashiyama. The hotel is comfortable and very clean, and having both public and private onsens to choose from was one of the highlights of our stay.

We booked a 50-minute massage for ¥12,000, and unfortunately, we didn’t feel the quality matched the price. The person was very kind and clearly had good intentions, but the massage itself felt quite inexperienced. At this price point, we expected a much more professional treatment. We were also disappointed with how they handled a vegetarian dietary request. We informed the hotel well in advance that one guest was vegetarian, but the response was essentially that they could simply remove or leave aside anything they didn’t eat. We found this rather unhelpful and not particularly attentive for a hotel of this level.

To była przepiękna japońska przygoda. Profesjonalny, pomocny i bardzo miły personel. Obiekt w stylu tradycyjnego japońskiego ryokanu z niesamowitym klimatem, gdzie chodzi się bez butów w yukatach. Bardzo komfortowe pokoje z pełnym wyposażeniem. Onsen z prywatnymi łaźniami (gdzie można wchodzić z tatuażami) oraz z łaźniami publicznymi (gdzie należy zakryć tatuaże specjalnymi plastrami). Do tego nieodpłatna możliwość zrobienia prania oraz suszenia, lody i mrożona herbata przy onsenach oraz wieczorny pyszny ramen. Fenomenalna okolica z przepięknymi widokami, lasem bambusowym i parkiem małp, które można na szczycie karmić. To najlepsze miejsce w Japonii, w jakim mieliśmy okazję nocować. Bardzo dziękujemy za to, że mogliśmy spędzić idealną część podróży poślubnej u Państwa oraz za piękny prezent niespodziankę w ramach tej okazji. Jesteśmy Państwu bardzo wdzięczni i będziemy wszystkim polecać to cudowne miejsce.

The hotel provides guests with lounge wear for the stay. Free ramen hour was a nice touch. A good option for a relaxing stay.

We couldn't use the public pool due to my partner's tattoos, something to consider before booking. The individual sauna and pool pods were ok but small and limited to 30 minutes use at a time.

A szálloda csodálatos, nagyon szép szobákkal. A berendezés, a kiszolgálás, az egész környezet nagyon autentikus volt, így igazán Japánban érezhettük magunkat. Több hangulatos privát és közös fürdő is van, ahol relaxálhatnak a vendégek. Mindenképp megéri újra eljönni ide.

貸し切りのお風呂入れなかった、予約とかでやった方がいいですね、何度も同じ方が入られていました。

The room. It was huge and the bedding was nice.

The shower didn't drain the best. It was hard to adjust the temperature of the external bath.

한 여름 8월, 엄마와 단 둘이 아라시야마 여행에서 료칸을 보다가 이곳을 발견. 정말 최고의 선택이었어요. 직원들 친절하고 모든 시설들이 교토의 멋과 여유 그리고 온천을 경험할 수 있는 최고의 시설들이었어요. 방 내부도 너무 좋고, 화장실, 샤워실, 공동으로 사용하는 대욕탕과 개인욕탕들 무엇보다 세심하게 챙기는 모든 포인트들이 좋았어요. 그리고 역이랑 단 2분거리. 에어컨도 잘 나오고, 일본의 정취를 누리고 싶다면 가성비 갑!!인 이곳을 강추합니다. 엄마는 여기가 최고래요. ㅋㅋ 아라시야마가 역이 3곳이 있는데, 이곳과 가장 가까운 역이 2분거리에 있으니 열차타고 오실 때 잘 보시기를.

아침 조식을 주문하실 때, 생선을 좋아하신다면 일식을 드셔도 좋지만, 저 처럼 생선냄새를 아침부터 원하지 않으시면 양식을 추천합니다. 사실 교토음식이 정갈하고 보기에는 너무 좋았지만 입맛에는 전혀 맞지 않았어요. 너무 비린내가 난다고 해야하나? 외국인들에게는 좀 힘들 수 있겠다 싶었어요.

大浴場も貸切風呂もあるし お風呂が好きな人は喜ぶ宿泊施設だった！ 朝ごはんも和食が豪華でいい1日スタートできそう！って思えるような見た目も綺麗なご飯だった！

Check in was a very long time and in the heat it is difficult to find anything to do for so long if you get there early and nothing was suggested to us by the staff. Overall lovely facility

Love the fact that it was so relaxing and quiet coming from Tokyo, specifically what I needed

Everything was really great but would like to make note that it seemed to be understaffed and even though the personnel was very much inviting, attentive and efficient they also looked overworked. They need more help. Me and my husband booked a massage and the woman giving us the massage was alone and had to come out in the middle of the session to take care of the front. She got interrupted and therefore my "relaxing" experience was too. She was very kind and I still had a great massage but the interruption was not ideal.

阪急嵐山駅前でとても便利。 駅前、ミニストップ有。 ドーミーイン系列のホテル。 館内へは下駄箱に靴を終い裸足で移動 大浴場は嵐山温泉、ドライサウナ、ミストサウナ、アロマ塩、個室風呂(沸かし湯)は予約無しで入れる。 夜泣きそば、部屋へテイクアウト可能。部屋には茶菓子、エスプレッソカプセル式にお茶、水も完備。 今回は朝食付きにて予約 チェックアウトも１１時だったので、朝食食べた後も温泉に入り、YouTubeも見れるし、ホテルを堪能して来ました。

The location is close to the train in Arashiyama and the local sites nearby.

They have a no shoe policy which is fine, but they do not hand you slippers and are expected to walk to your room through the halls and elevator barefoot. All other hotels I stayed at provided slippers for wearing in the halls as necessary. The room doors are sliding doors with one small lock that can make it a bit uncomfortable for safety, as well as sounds coming into the rooms from people in the hallway. This hotel was advertised as 4 star with amenities but it felt like 2 or 3 stars in comparison to other 4 star hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo. The hotel is far from any restaurant open later than 6pm for dinner if you do not plan to eat at the hotel. The price was also non-refundable over a month before arrival, so I could not change plans without losing a ton of money.

Stanza bella grande con tutti i confort (forniscono oltre ai kimono, anche i pigiami e calzini e kit bagno). Personale molto accogliente e parlano abbastanza inglese

Se devo trovare un difetto manca un angolo per bere un aperitivo alcolico. Inoltre anticipare la possibilità di mangiare il RAMEN e i Gyoza senza aspettare le 22, darei subito la possibilità alle persone che cenano di mangiare anche questi piatti!

Amazing onsen, clean room and welcoming staff

Location is walking distance to nearby shops and restaurants and their local train stop.

Maintenence was being conducted during our stay so the first night we didn’t have hot water in the rooms. Reimbursed half our stay for the first night but not the next because they got the water running at 11pm, when no one was awake to need the showers. Last day luckily had hot water, but didn’t get to enjoy private bath the first two days.

Location was great to downtown Arashiyama. Right across the bridge from all the shops within 10-20min walking distance.

The hot water was down for maintenance so we had to take cold showers or go to a different onse. They luckily offered half off for this night but not the next night even though the water was still cold until they fixed it at 11pm.

スタッフの方に大変良くしていただきました！とても気持ちよく泊まれました。またきたいです。

מקום קסום ומיוחד, שנמצא ליד הנהר כמעט לכל מקום הגענו בהליכה באזור Arashiyama, בריכות נהדרות של המלון, הכל נקי ויפה ונוח, צוות טוב, ארוחות טובות (למי שאוכל הכל, יש גלוטן כמעת בכל מנה ואי אפשן לשנות מנה) ממליצה בחום ומקווה שנחזור ליותר זמן.

木曜日泊だったせいか、大浴場が男湯、女湯の入れ替えなかった。朝イチも温泉に行ったが、片方の大浴場しか入れなかった。贅沢かもしれないけど。

Beauty and peaceful.

The onsen and the service were fabulous. The cold plunge is a major plus allowing me to enjoy the pools much longer that usual. The sauna smelled so good. It really brought out the scent of wood. The scrubs were a fantastic addition, and the steam room all added a little bonus. I learned a lot of new phrases and even how to correctly tie a kimono from one of the staff. She really helped form a fun and funny memory for me. Beds were good, plenty of space, location was right next to the station. A beautiful part of Kyoto. Loved it!

Welll, I think the coffee needs an upgrade given that the Japanese do a great job with quick mart coffees! Also I messed up several times with indoor and outdoor slipper protocol. A few more signs would help. They were of course very sweet about it. No complaints really.

喫煙所が案内と違って、一箇所にしかない。 連泊の朝食が１日目と違いがあった。 連泊分安いわけではないので同程度がよい。 部屋の入り口のセンサーライトが 反応しすぎて落ち着かない。 個別の露天風呂は楽しいが待ちがあり、 お湯の循環があったのかわからないが、 お湯が入れ替わっていてほしい。

The rooms and small touches were thoughtful and appreciated. Love the location as well.

The private onsens were quite worn out and there were occasional smells in the shared lobby and private onsens. The shared onsens were in much better condition.

24時間利用できる貸切風呂や、嵐山の観光地からアクセスがよく、駅も目の前なので便利です！

前回食事が美味しく大浴場も良かったので今回も宿泊しました。 大浴場は、気持ち良くスクラムもサウナやミストサウナもありとっても良かった。

朝夕とも受付で結構待たされた。 野菜スープがぬるくて美味しくなかった。

The location is great with good transportation network. Also, there are plenty to see around the area.

The staff maybe a not so well trained? Or it could just be me expecting too much from the excellent Japanese hospitality. Different staff have different ideas on what to do with a full bin being placed outside of the room. One staff is very nice and placed it back inside the room and even filled my empty basket with the towels. another one just leave the empty bin outside of the door. This is just one example. Some staff is kind of clueless. The dinning room staff service is just so-so. They didn't tell me the drinks cost extra and just asked me to pick something. I guess the younger generation is difficult to train?

All the staff were kind and caring. The facilities and room were exceptionally clean. The washoku breakfast was excellent every day.

If two separate sets of room and shoe‑box keys had been provided, it would have been more convenient to get around.

The hotel failed to inform and update hotel guests about a plumbing issue which resulted in having no hot water for two days. My young child caught a cold as a result.

I left my phone in the taxi and got it back with the help of the staffs. They were very kind.

Fueron super amables, todo super limpio, ordenado, nos dieron yukatas, la decoración era hermosa, los baños fabulosos, nos daban polos gratis mientras estábamos en ellos y ramen también, la habitación era súper bonita y muy cómoda, con todas las prestaciones. I loved the whole experience and atmosphere, with the kimonos, the Onsen, room quality, food service, amenities! Everything was a great experience!

綺麗、温泉がすごくいい、プライベート温泉も良かった、浴衣も選べていい、フロントの方がとても親切でした。

チャックアウト時の混雑、周りのお店も閉まるのが早すぎて、施設内に当日でもご飯食べれる場所があるといいなと思いました。

There is nothing we didn’t like. We wanted to stay another night!

Right across the street from the train station, short walk to the town. Customer service was absolutely superb. They even set up luggage transfer for us to our next hotel in Tokyo. Onsens were clean and amazing. Never even had to wait for a private bath to be available.

Good location next to the train station, nice staff.. great facility with many things to do inside the hotel, also got to wear Yukata from the hotel during our stay and with private onsen experiance

Memorable experience at an Onsen. The room was gorgeous and the baths were great. I also loved wearing the Yakuta and PJs to dinner and breakfast!

A bit expensive but very very good hotel

The private onsens were fantastic and we were happy to be allowed to visit them with our 10 month old baby. The room was very spacious and well suited for a family. We also liked the location. It was welcome break from all the noise of the city.

We were a bit sad they couldn't serve us dinner on any of the three days we spent there but I guess it's mostly out fault for not making reservations in advance (in the middle of golden week too).

직원들이 정말 친절했어요. 비가 왔는데 우산도 넉넉했고 식사시간 변경이나 수건추가 등 대응이 빨라서 편했어요

열쇠가 하나뿐인게 불편했어요. 온천을 따로 다녔는데 열쇠가 없어서 매번 일정을 맞추거나 문을 잠그지 못한 채 다녔네요.

お風呂のアメニティが良かった。

朝ごはん食べてる前の庭が綺麗だったのだが、凄い量の虫が飛んでいて落ち着かなかった。

Not many restaurants near by, you need to walk a wats to find food that isn’t the mini mart if you do not get dinner from the hotel
