The breakfast was excellent and we had a meal the previous evening. Parking was okay but we arrived later than expected and very full. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Great breakfast and great location to get to the cruise port and airport

Great, friendly staff. Classic B&B facility. Very comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom. TV worked well. Close to bus stop. Walkable - somewhat long but not at all difficult - to "downtown" restaurants (with great breakfasts) and shopping areas.

Rained a bit during our stay, but we certainly don't hold the hotel responsible for that!

Very tired decor in the room, the advertised photos show the room as very fresh but in reality it was run down and tired.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.

The room we had was very dated, carpet was old and stained, so was the furniture. The bathroom whilst was somewhat clean there was mould or mildew which needed to be cleaned with the sealing and grout redone. The room needs a refurb and decoration. I don't feel the room was value for money. Looking at the photos on their page which look nice, the room didn't reflect that.

Good location, easy to find, good location for access to the ports, only 10 mins drive. Good breakfast.

Car park is very busy and tight for space if parking around the rear parking area.

Great location for the port.

Mix up with our taxi. Hotel ordered it but we ended up being charged for a bigger vehicle that should have taken 7 of us but we ended up with a smaller car. Our friends ended up ordering an ubber at a much cheaper rate. I'm still trying to get some money back from the taxi firm for the mess up. Made for a stressful dash to the port.

Dining inadequate for wknds when totally booked. It is recommended for cruisers: yet no lift to accommodate the baggage and was not advised that I would be upstairs. 😳🤪🫤

What a charming hotel! The staff are so warm and welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is exceptional. My husband and I are both anxious to return! Maybe next year?? This is a must stay when in Southampton! If you are going on a cruise, this is an excellent choice as you are very close to the port.

The car park at the rear needs better signage. The main foyer of the hotel is clear but the car park was small and full and we went up and down a very busy road, several times, to find the second car park. Obvious once you find it but for first time visitors, it was unclear.

Easy drive to the port. Nearly fitted shower room very nice.

No aircon, not ideal for our changing summer climate. Breakfast included, I needed porridge made with water, that counted as a cooked breakfast for around £14.95 my husband got a full English for the same price. I felt the porridge should have been an option like the other cereal. These are my opinions may not be everyone’s. As I am dairy free many of the table item I can’t have.

It was convenient for my visit and parking was essential for me

My room was was not in the main building and I could hear the people in other rooms. However I must add that they were very quiet and I had no issue sleeping .

Overall no issues. Older hotel and it shows sometimes. 2 restaurants on site. 1 offers dinner the second offers breakfast.

No elevator, people with mobility issues would not be able to access their rooms. You will have to carry your luggage upstairs to your room. No AC. During the summer, this may be an issue.

The only problem we encountered, and we have stayed here many times, was the bed in our room. It was very low and not all that comfortable. We have always previously found the beds here very comfortable and have slept really well. Not so much this time. A bit style over substance.

The property doesn’t have AIR CONDITIONER! It took me 1/2 to talk to the manager that said “I am only taking to you so you understand that I don’t have to say that we don’t have air conditioner in the announcement” I was melting and I am from the Caribbean. No one in the line behind me knew ether. We lost the knight and leave. This is the first tine that through booking something like this happened to me.

The property was old but nice. The situation that was no air conditioner in a very HOT SUMMER was a deal breaker. Impossible to sleep there or rest

We like the location due to its proximity to the relative we came to visit. We also like that parking is available. The rooms are a good size and that staff really friendly. We also liked the little bar. We didn’t have breakfast on this occasion but have had it on a previous stay and the food was really good

The bathroom could do with a refresh and the shower wasn’t very powerful. It would also have been helpful to have a fridge in the room.

The room was hot (note that the weather was hotter than normal) so we had to have the windows open in out front facing room. The staff informed us that air conditioning was to be fitted. Having the windows open we could hear a lot of road noise (however we live in a very quite village).

Convenient location. Booked a single room and was upgraded to a double in the annex. The room was clean. Parking is free although the hotel car park was full and they directed me to their neighbouring parking.

The facilities are outdated and need refurbishing. There’s no AC and no fridge in the room, they had a fan but the room itself was very hot.

For what you pay, it’s a very good stay overall and I’ve generally always had a positive experience

The hotel is a lovely building with lots of character! The staff were really friendly, and the bed was so comfortable- I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages!

The hotel is split into different buildings. We had two family rooms in a building next to the main building, which was perfect, very quiet and both rooms adjacent to each other. Hotel very well positioned for easy access to the shopping centre and cruise port. Rooms are a good size and well maintained, comfortable bed and nice pillows.

It is not easy to get cases upstairs, although staff did offer storage downstairs in the main building. Confusion over breakfast. I asked if there was a children's rate for breakfast in advance and didn't receive a clear response, so we didn't bother. Plus, the price quoted on Bookings.com is £11.95 but we were quoted £15.00 each at reception. My pet hate, no easy access to shower gel when you actually have a bath. After a soak, you then have to stand up to have a shower to reach the shower gel. Please either offer a small tablet of soap or a bottle of shower gel placed lower down. Parking is a bit complicated, so just remember the rule to double park where there is a yellow ribbon.tied to the window wiper

The location is really good, and you can travel to the city centre and universities within a few minutes. The transportation is at the doorstep. The room was nice with good surroundings and less noise.

The room was quite small with no air conditioning. The room was right next to the garden where people would sit in the morning and in the evening, and it was quite noisy at those times. I stayed for 2-3 nights, but the room was never cleaned.

I booked a double room expecting to share a bed with my daughter but was given a room with a double bed and a single bed. Lovely garden area out back, but this was not open in the morning.

The room we had was definitely tired. The photos were not the reality. Was expecting some charm, but everything was tired. Probably the worst night sleep I’ve had in a hotel. The bedroom door only shut when locked. Light seeped in through the door throughout the night. Sound travelled far. The beds were uncomfortable. I took the single and my 12 yr old the double just because of the mattresses. The double was so soft and the bedframe squeaked every time you moved an inch and felt it would collapse with 9.5 stone me on it. The single was slightly better. The rooms were also boiling and it wasn’t even a hot day/night.

As this is. Dog friendly hotel I hoped there would be a separate area in restaurant to bring dog for evening meal instead we decided to eat at another pub that accommodated dogs

Garden area could be much improved. Walkway down side was messy with dumped plant pots. Didn’t make it appealing to sit in outside area. Parking area at rear could also do with a tidy up. Shower head in room 53 needs to be descaled & spurts everywhere. There’s something wrong with the shower gel in that room. Smelt of sewage. Told Reception so hopefully both resolved.

Het personeel is heel vriendelijk, het hotel en de kamers zijn mooi ingericht. Nette kamers, een fijne douche en een prima locatie.

Het enige minpunt wat mij betreft is dat het op warme dagen heel benauwd is in de kamer. Daardoor heb ik heel slecht geslapen en werd ik meerdere keren erg bezweet wakker. Er stond wel een ventilator, maar dat deed niet zo veel. Een airco zou het verblijf veel prettiger maken.
