-
Nicht steigerungsfähige Zentrumslage. Weitere Angaben bezogen auf Zimmer "Luigi". Nachts trotzdem ruhig. Sehr dezente und wirkungsvolle A/C.
Keinerlei eigenes Parken. Räume schmal und 5m hoch. Frühstück bemüht extravagant und "besonders". Wer "normal" will, muß das extra fragen. >500 €/Nacht trotz Lage und Ausstattung grenzwertig.
Établissement très bien situé si vous êtes à pied, le petit déjeuné est très sympa et le personnel est au petit soins Le jacuzzi est vraiment top La cours intérieur est superbe
Malheureusement la voiture est obligatoire est la localisation devient vite une contrainte, le ménage n’est pas fait tous les jours juste les linges de toilette, le lit et les 2 bouteilles d’eau, un peux léger vu le standing
Staff was incredibly friendly
Convenient location, gorgeous view, beautiful interior design, delicious food and kind staff
The hotel doesn’t have parking and it’s difficult to find a spot nearby if you come back during dinner time when the town is busiest. There was also no bottled water for the coffee maker in the room until you ask for them.
The hospitality was unmatched and the room was breathtaking and one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in while traveling. The staff was incredibly helpful and the location couldn't be better! We look forward to returning to this hotel on our next trip to Chania.
The Domus Renier is perfectly situated on Chania's Venetian Harbour, close to shopping, bars, and restaurants. The breakfast, served in an elegant courtyard, was excellent. The room we stayed in - Lorenzo (named not numbered) - offered an unobstructed sea view and was very comfortable and efficiently air-conditioned, with a well appointed bathroom and a peaceful and relaxing upstairs lounge. The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite.
Storage space for clothes could have been a little more generous, but that's about it!
We came to Domus Renier for our honeymoon and spent 11 incredible days here. We had the pleasure of experiencing two rooms, the honeymoon suite and the Dandolo suite - both exceeded our expectations. The rooms are clean and maintained daily to a high standard with INCREDIBLE housekeeping staff and reception staff who leave lovely sweet treats often. However the option to not have housekeeping enter is there and respected. The views from both rooms are just exquisite and it’s so easy to waste hours watching the boats coming in and out of the harbour. The breakfast is incredible and enough to fill you up until the evening with accompaniments of pastries, fruits and yoghurts. Nothing is too much for the staff at this hotel, booking us in-suite massages at 11pm for 10am the next day - incredible by the way - with absolutely no issues and no complaints. The hotel is situated centrally on the old port of Chania and is within walking distance to gorgeous beaches (approx 11 mins both ways from the harbour) and loooooads of shops and restaurants. The below restaurant Zepos quickly became a favourite of ours, with the manager and staff treating us incredibly and attentively, it felt like we were part of a family and i 100% recommend this restaurant for gorgeous food, drinks and incredible staff. We have so many incredible memories in this hotel in just 11 days and would recommend this place to stay in Chania to anyone looking for an unforgettable holiday.
Live Music nice place, and the best wonderful colours during sunset
The location was wonderful and the view from our room was magnificent. The hotel is elegant and beautifully appointed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were treated like royalty! The breakfast was served in a stunning area and was outstanding and lavish.
Nothing!
Excellent hotel, great location, excellent breakfast, excellent room. Truly an excellent hotel. Highly recommended!!
Advance check-in time
The breakfast was excellent and abundant.
Beautiful place great food great location in the heart of the old city, wonderful and helpful staff! We had great time!! Enjoy🙏
The room was beautiful! Service was excellent and location was perfect. Breakfast was delicious, with many options. The view from our room was beautiful. The hotel exceeded our expectations!
Nothing!
Very stylish, quiet and well located.
Nothing
This is my second visit to this lovely hotel. Both times, I was made to feel welcome and for that hotel treated like family. They go out of their way to offer special acknowledgments, like a small bottle of champagne for the room and many more. The breakfast included is a feast and really enough for three people. The staff is incredibly warm and the location is amazing.
A small boutique hotel directly overlooking the Old Venetian Harbor. Even before our stay, the hotel graciously extended the free cancellation date since our plans were a bit in a flux. Our stay was wonderful, every morning opening the blinds of the Honeymoon Suite to the empty promenade and serene waters of the harbor and the Lighthouse of Chania, and eventually seeing it populate lively throughout the day into the night. The hotel did a beautiful job decorating a fine architectural gem. The front desk was very helpful with booking restaurants and planning out activities. The breakfast was really, really delicious, with high quality ingredients. There were different juices and smoothies every morning, accompanied by various baked goods, and a la carte option for the main dish. The hotel provided us with a bag with beach towels for the day we drove out to Elafonissi Beach. The only inconvenience is the parking, since we rented a car in Heraklion and brought it to Chania to use for the remainder of the trip. There is a nearby paid parking lot, about a 5-10 min walk and the hotel will help you with the bags. The problem was with the city's parking regulations, which change constantly. When we were there, the active regulation prohibited two consecutive days of parking in any of city lots, so we had to take a chance on a parking ticket if we didn't want to constantly move the car. We felt that it was still a worthwhile stay, since most of the harbor has no car access (but also what gives it its charm), so most of the hotels in the area will have the same issue. We didn't look into it but you could probably just rent a car for a day trip and not have to deal with the multi-day parking like we did. Just do your research and proactively ask the hotel for any guidance.
I wish I could write something original but I can only endorse what the other reviewers have said. The location, service, accommodation, decor, and staff could not be bettered. The breakfasts were exceptional, you certainly won't need to buy lunch, and the Greek coffee was a must. Also highly recommended is the attached Zephos restaurant, which is situated at the front of the hotel directly on the harbourside. The quality of the food and the service was so good that we ended up eating there practically every night. Also, a shout-out to Litsa, the owner of this and other linked hotels. She couldn't have been frendlier and, it must be noted, seemed to be permanently on-station in the restaurant to ensure that everything worked like clockwork. Finally, if you do go, ask to see the album documenting the restoration of the hotel from an absolute wreck to the first-class establishment it is now.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Honeymoon Suite with internal balcony and sea view. The room is truly unique, full of charm, and offers a superb view of the sea. The lighting system is interesting and allows for different atmospheres, which we really enjoyed. The shower cabin is spectacular, the bed is very comfortable, and the small mezzanine offers a beautiful plunging view over the sea. The bathroom also has a double sink, which is very convenient. The air conditioning is quite well designed, with three outlets: one in the ceiling above the mezzanine and two more standard wall-mounted units. The terrace is also lovely for breakfast, and the hotel’s location is perfect, right in the heart of Chania.
Wonderful boutique hotel with superb views. The beds are super comfy and the staff could not be more helpful and generous! The breakfast is delicious and the views of the harbour are superb. Our room also had amazing high Venetian ceilings- beautiful. Highly recommend!
Its location was fantastic and the staff was excellent.
Everything! Location, Staff SUPER nice, beautiful, breakfast excellent!
Nothing at all!
Best hotel! , A wonderful stay, amazing location, staff, design breakfast, all in one place!dont miss out!

Fabulous hotel! Excellent location, beautifully appointed, wonderful breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful - shout out to Ramona to Ramona to to to for And helpful
Very nice and cozy hotel with a luxurious feel. First class service with staff that is both professional and familiar. This is the fifth time we have stayed here and the service is always as good.
We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the room was stunning! Additionally, the location was both picturesque and convenient.
We spent 14 days at the Domus Renier and have nothing but glowing things to say. The hotel is a 17th-century Venetian palazzo, fully renovated but with great love for the original architecture and its details. Modern comfort and old-world charm - here, the two genuinely work in perfect harmony. The location in the heart of the old town, with rooms overlooking the historic harbour, the old lighthouse, and the sea, is simply unbeatable. What stays with us even more, however, is the staff. Everyone was consistently warm and welcoming, from reception over kitchen staff to the room maids - and that held true every single day across two full weeks, without exception. Special mention goes to the breakfast host: each morning we were greeted so genuinely and warmly that the day could only go from one highlight to the next. Breakfast itself, by the way, is served à la carte - something we greatly appreciated and hadn't expected at all. The quality is exceptionally high. The banana bread with espresso butter was arguably the best thing we ate during our entire 14-day stay - and that's saying something, given that Crete is generally a culinary treasure. Over warm conversations at breakfast, we also learned a great deal about Cretan culture and received wonderful tips for our day trips into the western half of the island. Saying goodbye was hard. An wholehearted recommendation with the highest rating - we will be back.
What a beautiful experience to stay in this very lovely waterfront boutique hotel located in a gorgeous building in the Venetian Harbor, and with an absolutely wonderful staff who really make you feel at home. The service is above and beyond in this lovely place, the breakfast is amazing, prepared by incredible chef, Maria, and the views from the (very large, and beautifully equipped) rooms are a dream!
The staff and the facilities were wonderful. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. The hotel was beautiful and the breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Thanks for a great stay!
Location was perfect on the harbor overlooking the lighthouse
Leaving…
The service was exceptional from the moment I walked in the door. Everywhere you look there is beautiful art and architecture. I have been to Athens many times but this is hands down the best lodging and the best part of the city.
This hotel is a true gem. I can, without hesitation, highly recommend it. It is a beautiful, historic, boutique hotel with exceptional care and thought given to every detail. The location is absolutely perfect in every way - You can easily walk everywhere around the harbor and old town right from the hotel, which is located directly on the Venetian Harbor. Old town is made up of cobblestone streets with restaurants and wonderful, diverse shops lining both sides of the walkways - it is just a picture and completely authentic! The breakfasts are divine :)! Each morning, you're started off with coffee/tea/cappucino, delicious fresh squeezed juice, and a three tiered offering of fresh pastries, smoothies, puddings and local specialty treats. Then, you order a full breakfast from a menu - omg, everything was delicious, fresh and made to order... what can I say, breakfast was just delicious! Rooms had plenty of storage and housekeeping keeps the hotel and rooms spotless. We had a room with a view of the harbor and loved it! But what made staying at this special, gem of a hotel was that every single person from the hotel was welcoming, sincerely friendly, warm, caring, and helpful in every way, every day, from the moment we arrived - even though we were traveling to Santorini for the second part of our trip, we honestly did not want to leave the Domus Renier! The concierges that greet you at the front desk were so friendly, thoughtful and helpful morning, noon and night. A big, huge call out to Romana (spelling?), who truly made our stay so magical, special, and unforgettable. Thank you again for being so wonderful and a big part of our memories of our time in Chania, Crete! I've run out of room :)!! You will love the Domus Renier, the Venetian harbor and exploring the old town and especially the welcoming, friendly, incredible people of Crete, who touched our hearts! We did not want to leave and neither will you. Enjoy and safe travels.
Nothing! We would, without hesitation, highly recommend staying at the Domus Renier! Tip: Have the hotel arrange transportation from and to the airport, airport taxi drivers are great but they all don't know how to get around old town chania...
Beautiful hotel in a great location; great breakfast; friendly and helpful staff
The breakfast is great. It is fresh and unique. The location is great.
The room is small.
Beautiful hotel, from the lobby to the perfectly built rooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in everything. The breakfast was so good and overall vibes were very pleasant. The hot tub took our stay to another level! Thank you So much for making our vacation even more perfect!

We actually stayed at Domus Fresco, separate rooms just a few doors away, but I wanted to place the review here since the property is managed by this hotel. We had a problem on arrival late at night. It was quickly fixed, but the hotel manager, Sandy, went out of her way to make amends, organising a gift basket and breakfast for us at the hotel. She was really wonderful and the customer service was 5 star. The breakfast was amazing - a la carte and all home made, served in a beautiful room by a lovely server. The location is amazing. We loved Chania and cannot wait to come back to stay at the hotel.
Well located Friendly staff
Breakfast tables are too close together Rather boring views if you are at the non sea facing side
Beautiful building in a great location - the old Venetian royal residence, set back just behind the seafront. Quick and easy access to the Old Town and harbour. The room was lovely - tasteful decor, comfortable bed, great shower, plenty of space and storage. Breakfast also excellent - choice from a menu, with a mix of Cretan/Greek options and the more usual cooked suspects. Most of the pastries etc. were homemade - you could tell from the taste. Staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was any trouble. They had great recommendations for Chania and Crete more widely. All in all, a really memorable stay and not particularly expensive.
Nothing!
This is a gorgeous, small hotel. The building dates from about 1606 and has been lovingly restored and converted with real elegance and style, while the staff are unfailing helpful and friendly. It is also ideally situated on the waterfront with easy access to the sites of the old town. If we had a quibble it would be that the ‘tech’ in our room could have done with guide notes e.g the shower had five (!) controls that inevitably led to a cold dowse, while the tv needed you to tune to YouTube if you wanted a channel, which required a receptionist to come and explain.
Service was excellent
Parking is tough to find.
The breakfast was beyond wonderful! So many choices each day! Exquisite coffees, pastries, egg dishes, etc. Ocean view!!! The staff was a 20 out of 10. Highly recommend!
Second time in Chania—which I love—but first time at this hotel. Travelling with family and we stayed in the Master Suite. Hotel description and photographs are perfectly accurate so there’s no need repeating them, but the hotel nevertheless managed to exceed our expectations in every way. The owner and all members of the staff that we encountered were spectacular—extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Will be returning to stay again at some point.
Hotel ligt immers in autovrije zone. Mooi kamer, top ontbijt en toplocatie in Chania.
Niets
Excellent stay at this hotel. Water view was amazing, walking distance to all the restaurants, old town and the Venetian harbor. Spectacular breakfast, not a buffet with a menu to order from. If you were going to miss breakfast, they would have a box breakfast for you. Quiet at night and has an elevator. Hospitality was great, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very good stay, thank you
The staff kept the rooms clean and their breakfast every morning was outstanding. The staff were smiling always and the architecture of the room (secreto) was worth every penny.
The room was excellent with an unparalleled view of the port of Chania! The staff we so friendly and attentive and were always ready to give us excellent recommendations for restaurants, beaches, activities and more! Breakfast every day was delicious (and very filling!) and getting to walk outside and be in the center of Old Chania was simply incredible!
From start to end every person here was beyond accommodating Never a no and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect!! Location doesn’t get better Attached to Zepos restaurant and the owner is the sweetest and kindest always working hard to get patrons and so nice to chat with ! Rooms small but work just fine! Only 10 rooms !! Amazing showers . Hot tub great and spacious but never gets hot ! Breakfast 10 out of 10 omg!! Gave us beach bag and towels to go to beach, gave us box breakfast when we couldn’t make breakfast and all in all no better place to stay ❤️ thank u for all
Amazing hotel!! Perfect location, amazing staff, very quiet and a beautiful building. We booked our room just an hour before we got there and they welcomed us with a big smile and a bottle of wine. I would highly recommend!
Every thing was absolutely amazing … we enjoyed everything about this beautiful historical hotel, a true jewel in the heart of Chania
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of Old Town Chania was nothing short of perfection! The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home, offering personalized recommendations that made our exploration of Chania unforgettable. The hotel itself is a charming gem, blending historic elegance with modern comfort. And the breakfast? Absolutely incredible—freshly baked pastries, local Cretan specialties, and the best coffee I’ve ever had, all served in a picturesque courtyard. Every detail was flawless, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this haven for anyone visiting Chania.
breakfast extensive and good quality.
Couldn't figure out the TV instructions
This is a gem of a hotel, nestled right in the heart of the old port above eateries with access through the front restaurant or the rear. Breakfast is served from a menu with great options to choose from and is just perfect.
There is nothing not to like about this place. We have stayed there twice and would highly recommend it. The staff are all so attentive and helpful nothing is too difficult. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Perfect location. Beautiful property. Lively, but yet very private and quiet. Delicious high quality breakfast. And to top it all: a nice complimentary bottle of Prosecco.
The location, views, service, and breakfast were all excellent. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would recommend it to others.
