Resort & Winery Bosco De Medici

This is a beautiful place to stay - lovely grounds, great pool, comfortable rooms. What really makes it stand out is the exceptional staff - every staff member we came into contact with was kind, helpful and friendly.

There was nothing we did not like.

Das Hotel liegt absolut ruhig in einer sehr großen Grünanlage. Das Hotel verfügt über ausreichende Parkplätze, ein Restaurant und eine schöne Poolanlage. Das Personal ist ausnehmend freundlich. Uns wurde ein ausgezeichnetes Restaurant empfohlen.

Wenn es überhaupt etwas anzumerken gibt, dann könnte man das Frühstück um die eine oder andere Brotvariante ergänzen. Im Verhältnis zu den großzügigen Räumen der Unterkünfte ist das Badezimmer recht eng.

It was lovely the room was clean and big and the vineyard was beautiful

I would say that due to the lack of options in pompei it may be why it is rated so high. Everything was so expensive. The bath tub jacquizi had a lot of issues. I also would expect more form a high rated 4* like tooth paste. I also would expect the air on to be easier to work out and slightly better finishing in the rooms like the bathroom floor and seal was a bit rough. But the people who worked there were absolutely amazing and you can order food which was great.

Et hotel i smukke omgivelser med udsigt direkte til Vesuv. Morgenmaden var fin, i bedste italienske stil. Værelserne havde fin air condition, toilet og bad var også fint. Det var dejligt, at have en lille terrasse og have udenfor. Poolområdet var rigtig godt. Hotellet var meget behjælpelige, de hjalp med en guide til Pompeji (Alexander) han var fantastisk. Det tager ca. 25 min, at gå fra hotellet til Pompeji.

Sengene var ikke specielt gode (meget bløde) og vi syntes vin smagningen var kedelig.

Ein wunderbares Resort mit geräumigen, modernen und freundlich eingerichteten Zimmern. Vor unserem Zimmer hatten wir einen eigenen mit Hecken abgetrennten kleinen Gartenbereich. Es fehlte an nichts. Das in Bufettform angebotene Frühstück, das im Preis inbegriffen war, ließ keine Wünsche offen. Für jeden ist etwas dabei. Der Empfang an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Das Personal hatte immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Die im Voraus telefonisch über die Rezeption gebuchten Aktivitäten (private Führung mit einem Archäologen durch die Ausgrabungsstätte von Pompeii und die Führung mit dem Golfcart durch das Weingut mit anschließender Weinverkostung und 5-Gänge Menü) haben hervorragend geklappt. Die Weine sind von hervorragender Qualität, das Essen unglaublich gut und das Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Vielen Dank für dieses tolle Erlebnis. Das Resort ist wunderschön. Überall Obstbäume (Citrusfrüchte jedweder Art) und schöne, schattige Sitzgelegenheiten im Garten oder unter Reben. Der wunderschöne, saubere Pool mit vielen Liegen und Sonnenschirmen und einer phantastischen Aussicht auf den Vesuv war für mich das Highlight auf dem weitläufigen Gelände. Der Aufenthalt im Resort & Winery Bosco De Medici war ein Traum und genau das Richtige nach den anstrengenden und quirligen Tagen in Rom. Hier lässt es sich aushalten! Wir kommen wieder.

Lovely setting 25 minutes walk to Pompei but also has a stables where the kids enjoyed a lesson. The food and service were top notch but a little expensive.

Sans voiture c’est vraiment trop loin du centre et pas desservi par les transports. Il n’y a aucun commerces ou restaurants alentours.

Wonderful place in every respect, but especially the warm and friendly people working there. Lidia and Franz especially (both speak English fluently), and Antonio the night clerk are all exceptionally competent and really care that guests have a good experience, from simply making checking in and out easy after you enter down a long walk covered by a producing arbor of kiwis, to helping make restaurant reservations, arranging taxi rides and especially arranging for us to tour the archaeological site with the most competent and interesting guide we have ever had, Salvatore. On site restaurant (limited menu but excellent quality of local and traditional specialties that were really good), winery (wine tasting is good and pretty interesting) and pool are all excellent. Grounds are lovely and guests can walk into the center of the city and to the archaeological site easily in 10-15m. Breakfast is more than sufficient and genuine barista made cappuccino or your favorite Italian coffee or tea available. Rooms are specious and comfortable with A/C in the single story building in the midst of a lovely rich citrus grove. Ample and easy free parking in a city where a square foot of available curb space is very rare and hotly contesdted. Even if you are not there to visit the digs and just to relax by the poolside with Vesuvius looming in the northern view, the people and the place make this an exceptional place to stay. I originally booked to stay here for 3 nights, but ended up staying a fourth; it was so good! We stayed as part of a week-long tour of the Amalfi Coast and can't think of a better way of finishing it off. On our arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff, who I can't speak highly enough of. We stayed in a Standard Double Room with Patio, which was so clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. The pool is exceptional and a welcome relief from the heat in late July. Considering how luxurious the resort is, the pool bar offers excellent drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The breakfast does not disappoint and is also of a high standard. I recommend the winery tour and meal, with an accompanying wine tasting; it blew us away! The centre of Pompeii and the archaeological site (where we spent 2 nights watching concerts) are only a short walk from the resort. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars, and we didn't have one bad experience. I highly recommend staying here and will return!

The fridge in the room didn't get cold enough, but in all fairness, we didn't complain and were happy enough getting drinks from the pool bar.

Le restaurant a oublié de me facturer le repas du soir. Du coup, lors de mon départ, j'ai réglé mes boissons, rien ne m'a été demandé et je n'y ai moi-même pas pensé car j'étais plutôt concentré sur les 10h de route à réaliser. Je demande donc à l'hôtel la facture et un RIB à mon adresse postale car je ne paie pas n'importe qui, n'importe quoi, n'importe comment sur internet. Dès réception, le virement sera fait, mais on m'indique qu'il est impossible de m'envoyer les éléments par courrier postal. Affaire à suivre donc... j'enlève 2 points.

Beautiful property situated near Pompeii. The pool was very inviting and the rooms were fabulous.

The walk to Pompeii was a little longer than we anticipated.

This hotel is an excellent choice for families exploring the excavations, the staff are kind and the swimming pool provides excellent relief after a hot day of archeology. In addition to the swimming pool there is a lovely kitchen garden to explore, and the winery (the sparkling falanghina is a must) alongside horse riding, all set in a rural, friendly oasis of a small holding.

I have been before and it was exactly the same fab experience. The garden rooms are lovely and give real privacy for a hot. The restaurant and wines are fab too.

Great quiet place with amazing pool, view and atmosphere. It was perfect 2 nights with kids in summer, a day climbing the Vesuvio in the morning, arriving for a great lunch at the winery, then pool, next day same with Pompei, walking distance

The place to be in Pompeii

Once at the property, Stunning Location and views, comfortable accommodation, wine tasting and food were excellent, pool was immaculately clean and quiet.

although a short walk into main square, not ideal area walking home at night, taxis available but only pre booked would be good if hotel offered shuttle bus or similar for short 5 min drive (10-15 min walk)

We had a fantastic stay at Bosco de Medici Resort. It was a very nice, comfortable base for our family, situated just 10 minutes from the ruins of Pompeii while offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to unwind. Highlights of Our Stay: Pool & Atmosphere: The pool area is wonderfully quiet and serene, complete with a great pool bar. It was our favorite place to relax. Excellent Dining: We ate at the resort’s restaurant for two nights, and both dinners were fantastic. Delicious Breakfast: Breakfast was good—featuring fresh fruit, delicious cakes, proper Italian espresso, and a great variety of options to start the day. Family Activities: Unfortunately we did not have time for the wine tour, but our son went horse riding. This is part of the options to do on the resort We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Pompeii area.

There is a little animal farm which attracts flies unfortunately.

The pool area was the highlight, beautiful, peaceful, and never felt crowded. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pompeii!

The view is out of the world and looks exactly like the photos! The pool and accommodation was very clean and tidy. Staff were lovely and breakfast was amazing.

The location, pool, restaurant and staff were all excellent. The perfect retreat after exploring Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and Naples.

The pool bar menu was quite limited. No ice creams, or alcohol free beers.

Bellissima location!

The staff were friendly and helpful and their service wonderful. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed walking to the nearby winery for an excellent dinner. Relaxing sfternoon drinks were beside the pool with incredible views of Mt Vesuvius.

There was nothing that I didnt like

It is a very nice, small resort about half an hour away from Napels. Great and deep pool area. It is very calm and all the nature and different trees give it a nice atmosphere. The Rome was nice and spacious. The shower was not in a separate area but it was in the middle of the room. We had a very nice hot tub. It was difficult to fill but after we asked reception they helpt us. It was not too expensive. They also have horse riding lessons and tours of the vineyard available and they have a great restaurant with foods from there own mini farm wich you can also visit. Everything was clean but the house keeping did come at inconvenient times.

Nothing - only downside was we got bitten a lot!!! There were a lot of flies around - probably due to the lovely animals and we didn’t have bug spray unfortunately so my husband and I got bitten bad on our legs

The place is beutuful and pastoral. The crew is the best i have seen. The pool is fun. The winery wine tasting and cheese plate were fantastic. We got the king suite which is not in the main area but they helped us to the room with the bags. All in all 10 out of 10.

I wish i knew about this place sooner and got more nights to stay. The tv in the room could be larger...

De ligging van het hotel is vlakbij Pompei. Daarnaast is het mogelijk om bij het hotel een wijnproeverij te doen met of zonder heerlijke lunch. Het zwembad is riant en er zijn voldoende ligbedden. Het personeel was enorm behulpzaam. Wij moesten redelijk lang wachten op een beschikbare taxi. Het hotelpersoneel zorgde ervoor dat de wachttijd comfortabel was. Wij reizen met een rolstoel en hadden de mindervalide kamer. Allemaal goed te doen!

Er is altijd iets te verbeteren maar niks benoemenswaadigs voor hier

Fabulous, tranquil setting near the archaeological site of Pompeii. Very comfortable, immaculately clean guest rooms with excellent air conditioning (very needed this June). Friendly, helpful staff. We dined in the winery restaurant and very much enjoyed our meals and trying their wines. The resort has a lovely swimming pool with a great view of Mt Vesuvius. There are a farm, the opportunity to take horseback riding lessons, and wine tasting sessions. This was a perfect base for exploring Pompeii, Naples, and Campania, with plenty for families to do on site.

The resort hotel Bosco de Medici is a unique property. Created on the land of a family farm within the city of Pompeii, it comprises the resort, with about a dozen motel style ground floor rooms, many with their own little courtyards, a large garden area with fruit trees and seating outside those rooms, a beautiful pool with a view of Mount Vesuvius, a reception area and a breakfast room. The property also contains a restaurant, which caters many events as well as providing supper for hotel guests and wine tasting lunches, a horse stable with three different riding rings, where equitation is taught, a vineyard and a wedding venue. The resort feels like a sanctuary within the gritty town of Pompeii. It is possible to walk to the ancient site in about 25 minutes, and it is a safe walk, but the street to the town plaza is scruffy and then the street from the town plaza to the site is filled with tourist restaurants and shops. The resort actually abuts the property of the archaeological site, but there are only three entrances to ancient Pompeii, and none are nearby. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good parking on site.

When staff received us in golf cart and offered a tour first before any paperwork. Keep that vibe.

Beautiful property, very clean everywhere, very nice pool and outside area. The people at the front desk where just great, very helpful and kind. Breakfast was good and the dinner at their property was amazing. It is around 15-20 minutes og walking into the the town center and their shuttle service is top notch! So going to see the ruins and the museum in Pompeii, took only 20 minutes. Our two children loved it there, with the peaceful sorrundings, the little farm they could visit and the clean pool. Top service and we ARE coming back!!

Everything was way better than we expected.

Overall this is a beautiful spot situated just north of the main square in Pompei. Friendly and professional staff immediately greet you, and there is parking available on site (at no charge) which is a massive benefit. You are close to the town and ruins. Just a 10-15 minute walk to town. Our only mention would be that it is not the nicest of walks into town. Although the winery and hotel itself is stunning (and very safe), the walk to town feels quite ‘rough’ (Although we were assured by multiple staff that it is safe) we tried to get a taxi, but it is near impossible to get one anywhere in Pompei. So just be aware that the walk itself isn’t the nicest (Although we were safe) Our check in was 14:00, we arrived at 13:30 and did have to wait to exactly 14:00 to be able to check in as the room wasn’t ready. The room itself was extremely clean and comfortable. We went for just the standard room with patio, and for just an evening it is perfect. The pool area is beautiful, and we enjoyed relaxing here for a few hours in the Italian sunshine. You can order drinks whilst at the pool at great prices! Breakfast is provided and as soon as we walked in, the staff requested coffee/tea orders from us which were given quickly. Overall we had a great stay, and would stay here again if visiting Pompei. There are also options to dine here, book onto a wine tour and purchase wine from the winery itself.

Das Essen mit der damit verbundenen Weinverkostung war exzellent, die Weinberatung hervorragend. Die Anlage ist äußerst geschmackvoll und liebevoll gestaltet. Das Frühstück war sehr ansprechend. Wir haben ein kostenfreies Upgrade in eine Suite mit Whirlpool erhalten, darüber haben wir uns sehr gefreut.

Das Zimmer war alles in allem relativ dunkel. Das 160 cm breite Bett war uns zu schmal.

Nice please to stay close to Pompeii. The property itself is nice and quiet. Nice pool (although cold at the time of year we stayed)

There was a lot of traffic to go in and out in the morning and evening. But you can walk by foot to the center of town. Not so much to the ruins. No views.

Roberto helped me navigate the restaurant menu. Dinner was delicious. The farm was awesome. Breakfast was delicious. Didn't get a chance to go in the pool, but the ground looked beautiful.

Traffic in the town was difficult.

The reception staff need a lesson in professionalism, they laughed at my daughter’s passport photo when we checked in. Also to the American guy who spends 4 hours every evening non stop talking on his phone outside peoples rooms, you are not that important or interesting. Go be obnoxious somewhere else. The resort is ok but I don’t think we will be back

La qualité de ce qui est servi au petit déjeuner devrait être améliorée. La nourriture est ok mais le service au restaurant devrait être meilleur (entrées servies alors que l'apéritif n'est pas terminé, plat servi alors que l'entrée n'est pas terminée). Nous avons trouvé beaucoup mieux dans le centre de Pompei.

Die Sauberkeit und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Die Lage war wunderbar. Es war sehr persönlich, dadurch das es auch nur 18 Zimmer gibt.

Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und nett angerichtet, könnte jedoch etwas mehr Auswahl beinhalten. Insbesondere was Käse und Wurst und Schinken betrifft.

Sehr schönes Resort, toller Pool. Zimmer war groß und sauber. Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr schönes Gelände. Die Ausgrabungsstätte Pompei war problemlos fußläufig erreichbar.

Frühstück war nur durchschnittlich, kein frischer Saft, wenig Abwechslung. Die Umgebung war wenig ansprechend.

Our second stay. Lovely place, great staff, close enough to the archaeological site to walk there. Fabulous restaurant and wine tasting, all in the shadow of Vesuvius. Splendid.

The hotel is set on a former farm, tucked away approximately 15 minute walk from the middle of town and enjoys a stunning view of Mount Vesuvius. The estate has it's own vineyard and restaurant where you can bring both together with a wine tasting meal in the Bosco De' Medici Winery and Restaurant. The estate has it's own equestrian centre, a generous swimming pool retains a small animal area which includes rabbits, chickens and peacocks, vegetable garden and lemon trees. The hotel Bosco De' Medici is well set for couples and accommodates family breaks too. There isn't much for children to do so some children may require more supervision than others.

The resort was so calm and beautiful, set away from the busy tourist streets of Pompei. It was like being part of a brilliantly kept secret, that only a few knew about, even with the rooms all being full, you often felt like you had all the space to yourself. The pool was amazing! The staff friendly and caring. Very welcoming. The most amazing view of Vesuvius. A walk or short taxi drive to the archeological park. The winery food and wine was fantastic. Again treated so well by the Bosco De Medici staff. This was an experience I definitely want to relive, and hope to return one day.

This resort was such a pleasant surprise as the pictures do not do it justice. The rooms are spacious and clean and the grounds are stunning. The pool water was chilly but just sitting by it and having a glass of wine was delightful. The front desk is very helpful on recommendations and taxis. Great place to stay outside a busy city and close to Pompeii archeological park. I would highly recommend!
