Retro Suites Hotel

There was a lot of variety for the breakfast and food quality was good. Seats are pretty low to ground for someone with a spinal condition/mobility issue, but we were fortunate to find one higher seat beside the buffet area the previous evening which was good. We enjoyed the uniqueness of Retro Suites and found the room very comfortable.

It was a fantastic themed (each room has different theme) hotel. It's an interesting place but felt like a luxury room. Best night sleep at a hotel.

The Desk personnel were so very welcoming and helpful. I I loved the loft.

'We had a Cocktail Reception for my son & his fiancee at Suite 46 on the Friday before their wedding. I can not express our gratitude to Cashmere & the staff working at Suite 46. It was everything & more then we even imagined. The service, food , atmosphere were excellent. If you are looking for a wonderful venue to host a special party or function this is your place. Thank you & Well Done.

The lobby had interesting art. I was only there for one night for a wedding but the room had a loft and was amazing. Smooth check in and got an early check in as requested. Friendly staff.

It would be nice to open the restaurant space for the included continental breakfast, even if it’s just to be able to sit at the tables, rather than on the couches in the lobby.

It was me and my husbands first time at Retro Suites. We stayed there for my sister in laws wedding, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff, the food, the rooms, everything was absolutely fantastic. We felt so welcomed, and everything was very clean. We are definitely coming back! We love you Retro Suites!

Great location. Great breakfast for on the go. Fun art and clean bright rooms. Stayed in the Palm room and the decor was soothing. Exceeded my expectations which is unusual. Pillows were not fluffy but did the job.

Prefer a fluffy pillow and coffee in the room but the coffee machine in the lobby was excellent

Beautiful hotel and very uniquely decorated. The location was perfect for a wedding we attended at the Armoury My only suggestion is to improve the quality of the amenities in the washroom, for the nightly cost, I would have expected some more luxurious soaps, shampoo and separate conditioner.

Being in the presidential suite was a little disappointed with the flooring of the room was dirty and very squeaky

Was just staying at Retro Suites, had a beautiful room as usual. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. My 3rd or 4th time staying at the Retro. Highly recommended. Love the new coffee station.

The hotel is truly beyond cool!!! The art throughout the hotel is amazing!!! The only thing that wasnt cool and didn't fit the retro vibe was the black mold in our shower along the bottom tiles. The grout on the floor in the bathroom should have been white (could see the original colour under the vanity) but instead was a dark grey. Wasn't terrible but can't give a five star rating unless those two comments are addressed.

Stayed in the presidential suite. It was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. The room was spotless. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Well maintained funky hotel. Loved the decor, bed was comfy, clean, nice continental breakfast. Had a great dinner at the local brewery nearby. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Noise, you can bear the noise when people are comkng out of the lift, and also the light from the corridor comes through the gap in the door, so you do not get a true blacked out room and I was woken up by noise at night

I had the most wonderful experience at Retro suits! This is the perfect spot for a unique attraction. Photo ops are all over! everywhere you turn is even more memorable. Def check out the back of the building. It’s pastel and very retro. We had the Nantucket room! I would say this is a perfect venue for a wedding. Your guests will be talking about this for a long time. It’s not your average hotel, it’s an experience for sure. Also, The coffee shop right beside it has the best iced coffees and there is a restaurant attached to the hotel!

Another wonderful stay at the Retro Suites! We stayed in the Urban Loft and it was perfect for us. Spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We also took advantage of a July special and got an even better room rate. My friend and I went for a night out and enjoyed lunch at Sons of Kent and dinner at Suite 46– both exceptional service and food. 10/10 recommend!

I recently stayed at Retro Suites Hotel in Chatham for one night and had an incredible experience. My room was amazing—spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with absolutely everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a wonderful night's sleep. One of the highlights was the room itself. It was massive and featured a private balcony, which was a fantastic bonus. The kitchenette was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more, making the room feel like a home away from home. The hotel's atmosphere is unlike anywhere else I've stayed. The décor is unique, creative, and full of character, making the entire experience feel special and memorable. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into every detail. The customer service was exceptional from start to finish. The woman who helped book my room was kind, professional, and incredibly accommodating. I was on the road and unable to book online, and she went out of her way to make the process easy and stress-free. The gentleman who checked me in was equally friendly and welcoming. Overall, this was one of the most unique hotel stays I've experienced. Between the outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and distinctive atmosphere, Retro Suites is truly a gem. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Chatham area—it's an experience everyone should check out for themselves. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a lovely hotel in Chatham. The lobby and hallways have lots of retro paraphernalia about making it fun to walk around. My room was the southwest room which had some decorations reflecting that. It was a comfortable and large room. Staff are awesome. Check in super easy and free parking on site.

What a fun place to stay! Like staying in a cool museum of funky memorabilia. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I had a lovely time.

Great place! From the front end staff to the butter tarts in the morning, everything was perfect. Spacious bathrooms, comfortable bed and squeaky clean too! The art work throughout and the vibe really set this place a part from anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Good restaurant too! Just remembering our stay makes me smile.

Always a great stay. Was super pleased to enjoy the new complimentary self-serve coffee and tea centre. It really filled a need as the nearest café has limited hours.

As always, it was perfect. The room was enchanting and, of course, so different from the last one in which in stayed - part of the fine. The decor is stylish and playful. The bathroom was a hedonistic experience and much appreciated after long days. It was blissfully quiet and serene. If cleanliness is, as they say, next to godliness, then my room was a religious experience.

Everything about our one night stay was perfect. Highly recommend staying here. The front desk attendant was lovely - so friendly and welcoming. The hotel and our room were immaculate. I am a freak about hotels and cleanliness. This place is superb! No matter where you go within the hotel, it’s so clean. My husband and I kept commenting on the cleanliness. The complimentary coffee and “grab and go” pastries were a nice touch as well. This hotel is worth more than 5 stars in my opinion.

We had the most wonderful time! Our first time to your beautiful hotel. Our King William Suite was exquisite! Enjoyed looking at all the retro collectibles in the hallways. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The continental breakfast was delicious! Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends!

No expense was spared in the renovation and furnishing of your hotel. If we lived closer, we would make your hotel a “date night” location and stay in a different theme room each time. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Would like to have a tour of the rooms.

Absolutely beautiful and went beyond our expectations. Highly recommend!! Spacious, clean and we loved the retro vibe. It was a scenic, 5 minute walk to the wedding venue which was so convenient. In the morning, we helped ourselves to the complimentary coffee and pastry bar and went for a refreshing walk down the river and through the park. What a gem in the heart of downtown Chatham. Loved it!

We stayed in the King William suite, it was beautiful. This was the 4th time we have stayed at the Retro Suites and every experience has been wonderful. The rooms always exciting, the staff very nice and helpful.

Convenient location. Quiet room and very clean. Love the retro decor! Staff are 5/5. Restaurant is very good. Disappointed in what they euphemistically call a 'continental breakfast'. A hotel of this caliber should serve a decent breakfast, not sugary snacks.

Retro Suites is a very unique hotel, you will not find anything similar. The staff was friendly, the accommodation clean and spacious with a unique flair. The food for the wedding event was phenomenal!

The building is funky and imaginatively designed space. Lots of character and a sense of fun infused in the decorative choices and the twists and turns required to find your room. Rooms are large and comfortable.

The breakfast offerings were disappointing. An in house cafe would be a welcome addition to the facility.

The receptionist was spectacular and everything about our stay was immaculate!

The hotel is fun, quirky and interesting. The entire facility is clean and well kept. All of the staff I encountered were pleasant, kind, helpul and professional. They went above and beyond to meet personal needs and needs of our organization. The food at the restaurant was very good. These are the reasons that I rated the hotel so highly. I have just one area of complaint. The complimantry continental breakfast was lack-luster at best. After the first of three mornings, I was extremly tired of the offerings and wished for something fresh and hot. Sadly, the restaurant is not open for breakfast and there were no restaurants close by. No seating once you picked from the cold and dry choices. No trays to carry things back to your room. The huge, institutional size Keurig was a joy though. As a non-coffee drinker, I enjoyed the excellent hot milk chocolate.

Welcoming front desk staff. Beautiful, unique rooms. We had the Cottage loft, a 2 bedroom 2 storey room with a cottage decor. Very clean and well maintained. On site restaurant and bar. Located downtown and within walking distance of many restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a very cool, trendy hotel with eclectic decor! We stayed in a king room which was spacious, and the bed was firm but comfortable. The staff were very nice and accommodating. They helped us book a last minute second night, and got us get a great rate for it. There was a small selection of pastries, oatmeal, cereal and yogurts on offer in the mornings near the lobby, and a nice coffee machine with many choices, available all day. The only con we found here was that the walls are quite thin, so we could hear everything happening in the halls, and the train just outside was pretty loud at times.

The Retro Suites never fails to disappoint, the unique guest rooms make being away for work a welcome treat. The soaker tub was just what was needed after a long day. Looking forward to my next work trip and what room I’ll end up in!

Unique hotel with individual themed rooms. We stayed in "Home Suite Home". Perks of this unit are room size is spacious, storage, sitting area, large bathroom with walk in shower and great water pressure. There is a peninsula featuring a mini fridge, microwave, sink, a few dishes and counter height seating for quick meals. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast items and 24 hour coffee/hot chocolate - which were fantastic. Parking was easy and well lit. There is lots to see around the hotel which made for fun times to walk around exploring.

We stayed at the Retro Suites due to a competition being held in the area. The hotel is one of the coolest places I have stayed at! We were able to explore a lot of the different rooms due to friends staying there! I was in the So Cal room which was great!!! Definitely would stay here again!

Check in was easy and having parking accessible appreciated. The decor was incredible and I found myself wandering the halls just to look at everything that was displayed. My room was warm and inviting with plenty of space to move around. I stayed in the room titled "Palm" which faced King Street. I was concerned that traffic might be an issue but it wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom and shower was huge. It was great. The continental breakfast was tucked in a corner on the main floor and there was plenty of choices for guests. I really appreciated having access to tea and coffee at any hour. It gave me an excuse to walk the halls and enjoy the surroundings. I would definitely return!

I spend 3 to 5 days at Retro Suites several times a year and have always been completely satisfied. There is no other hotel in Chatham Kent I would choose to stay. The suites are attractive, comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price is comparable to other hotels in Chatham, and the quality is superior in my opinion. Lynn Fisher

I stayed in the log cabin room. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was amazing! The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I will definitely go again!

Our room had no windows and we were not aware from the description on line. We called to book the room and were not told. It was a surprise and very disappointing for the price I paid and the getaway I was hoping for. Housekeeping knocked very loudly on our door each morning at 8 am and 9 am waking us long before check out which was very shocking and disturbing to our rest. I felt like I was back in time being woke for school. I believe check out is at 11am. Not sure why they needed to disturb us. I spoke to the front desk and suggested the no windows should be put on the description or maybe change that room into a library or games room. I was not given any compensation for this bizarre stay. I will say the positive side was the restaurant, the food and staff were excellent , beds were very comfortable.

Our family of four was in Chatham for a Dance Competition at the Capitol Theater. We stayed for one night in the So Cal Supreme Loft and it was wonderful! At check-in, the gentleman was professional and courteous. Clearly clean and well-maintained hotel in every way. We enjoyed the amazing decor throughout the hotel and had a wonderful meal at the restaurant attached to it. The hotel was an easy 10 minute walk to the Capitol Theater and perfectly located. The cost of the room was reasonable. I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others. Five star rating!

Always a great stay! Staff is always so warm and welcoming and the rooms are amazing! So comfortable, large and I LOVE that every time I go it's a different themed room! So much thought and effort has gone into the decor of the entire hotel, I love it! Amenities are pretty good too! Breakfast is just ok, but it works. The restaurant on site is always good too!

We stayed in the Bloom Suite and had a fantastic evening. The room was beautifully decorated and the check in process was so easy. The hotel itself is gorgeous and treasure to explore. I would recommend The Retro Suites to anyone staying in Chatham Kent!

If you're into art or music the collection and decor is fascinating. Clean and great, super friendly staff. Next time we pick a themed room, though ours was massive and had a kitchen and huge bathroom. Best value and stay in Ontario.

We absolutely love the Retro Suites! The atmosphere is amazing, and the décor is so unique—there’s always something interesting to take in. It’s the perfect meeting spot for our family, especially since we’re spread between Windsor and Sarnia. This has officially become our new annual overnight destination to gather and watch the Oscars—such a fun tradition in the making!

I love this hotel. The details throughout this building is amazing. Minutes away from the Capitol theater. Our meal in the restaurant was also 5 star.

The folks at Retro suites are very friendly more than accommodating. We had a family emergency which was almost two weeks. They made space for us to stay the entire time without room adjustments! Rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. I can't say enough about the Retro Suites.. I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Chatham. Thanks again to the entire staff and management at the Retro Suites. We will be back

The room was very hot when I first entered but that was easily managed and there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

What a shocking discovery ! This hotel is simply amazing. The lobby is ultra cool, the rooms are all different, the decor is wild and I loved it ! Quiet, large rooms, great staff all surrounded by the coolest collections of microphones, album covers, posters, painting, art...too much to write about. Amazing coffee machine in lobby...antique vending machines, model cars, neon lights..... Wow...this place is awesome !!

Bed was poor -possibly old ! We did complain about it& they said they would look into it!!

Clean, Comfortable and great decor and vibe

The hotel was beautifully decorated. It was immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The continental breakfast included a large variety of items, more than expected. We walked from the hotel to a nice downtown restaurant for dinner, which we appreciated after being on the road most of the day.

There was only one chair in the room; a second one would have been nice.

Probably the best place to stay in Chatham, the adjoining restaurant has excellent food and many options to choose from the menu.
