Dear Marriott Leadership Team, I'm writing to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude for an act of service so extraordinary that I felt compelled to bring it to the attention of the highest levels of your organisation. During my recent stay at Hakuba Marriott, an unfortunate incident occurred when my luggage was accidentally damaged by one of your porters. While such mishaps can happen, what followed was a masterclass in exceptional hospitality and genuine human care. Within moments of the incident, a front desk staff by the name of Khadka Mukesh was promptly dispatched to personally address the matter. I was presented with two considerate options — a dining credit or a replacement piece of luggage — a gesture that immediately reflected your brand's commitment to guest satisfaction. I accepted the offer of a replacement luggage. However, what truly left me speechless came shortly after. Your Operation Manager, Masaki Ueda took the time to personally reach out to me with a sincere and heartfelt apology. This alone would have been more than enough. But he did not stop there. In the following days, Masaki-San continued to check in with me — not out of obligation, but out of a genuine desire to make things right. And then, in an act of service I will never forget, he personally travelled all the way from Hakuba to Tokyo, collected my luggage, brought it to a specialist repair shop to have the luggage professionally restored, and then hand-delivered it back to my Tokyo hotel in the same day before making the journey all the way back to Hakuba ! He did not send a courier nor delegate but gave his own time, energy, and effort entirely for the comfort and peace of mind of a single guest. In an era where hospitality can often feel transactional, he reminded me of what true service meant. It's personal, selfless, and done with pride. He is, without a doubt, an extraordinary ambassador. If there is any way to honour his committment,pls do so !

部屋に座るソファなど無くて、ベッドに座るしか無くて 小上がりになって座布団と丸テーブルは和と洋でどちらか中途半端で落ち着かない。 海外の方は、小上がりの上にも外履きで上がってそうな気がした。 道路側の部屋は、金額にしては残念😢

The location of the hotel makes me feel like living in neighborhoods in the warming forest. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming.The public onsen room is very quiet and there’s an outdoor onsen. The breakfast is very very very good!!! There are variety of foods from local shinshu soba and udon area and western food.

Not much convenience for those who didn’t have a car. You need a car or taxi to get here

Room has frosted glass windows with no view. Dinner course was more like a fast food restaurant, main course delivered before the starter and take away plates as soon as you put your fork down, so difficult to relax. No sofa in the room.

The gentleman who check us in was very helpful and friendly and provided such good service!

I usually love a Marriot however please be aware that if you are going anywhere outside the hotel transport is terrible & the Marriot Courtesy Bus will only take you to two places either the Train Station or the Bus interchange . What was an excellent stay was a disaster when leaving as we had to walk 700 metres to our departure transport .( Not the Hotels problem)however they could have offered to help . Apparently this is the hotels policy and I wish this was more clear as I wouldn’t have spent $10k to be treated this poorly when leaving in a massive Snow storm dragging luggage up the road ankle deep .

There didn't seem to be a drying room for ski clothes. Needed more hanging options for clothes in room

The private onsen in the room was perfect after days out in the snow. Great location for walking to restaurants and shops/hire equipment. The shuttle service to ski resorts was excellent - would have helped to know the schedules before arriving to better organise and plan which slopes to visit.

The room with private Onsen Bath was AMAZING!! Definitely will so it again.

Onsen on the property was great, even had an outdoor section too. Rooms were modern and in good repair with excellent and helpful front reception staff!

Very poor experience at the hotel for a ski trip. Hotel has no transfer to the slopes and you are reliant on the infrequent local buses. Staff not particularly helpful with regards to anything (transport, restaurants etcetc). Nearly spoilt our trip to Japan. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel for a ski trip (get something closer to the slopes). Very disappointing from a Marriot.

広い部屋で自然に囲まれながら、ゆったりと過ごせました。

We loved our stay at the Hakuba Marriott! It had a great gym, the in room onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes and the staff were so friendly. It was walkable to the main drag and provides a shuttle to the ski resorts right out front. It was nice to come back and enjoy a drink at the bar after dinner. We cannot wait to stay here again!

I enjoyed the size of the room and outdoor onsen area.

Booking.com was a lot cheaper than the price quoted by the reception. I felt that I was scammed

This hotel might be great in the winter, but these green months really make you wonder if it deserves the high marks. The hotel restaurant has a limited menu and portions are less than filling. The “apple pie”consists of uncooked sliced apples, a scoop of ice cream and a toffee cracker. The front desk wanted to be helpful but no one could tell me about what was open in town, the hiking trails in the area, or where I could rent a bike. I know it’s summer, but this was an expensive stay at a shell of a hotel.

Very comfortable & clean, great beds. Fantastic helpful staff, great indoor & outdoor onsen, and an ok little gym. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Provided a hotel shuttle bus to pick us up from town. Free local bus stop right outside lobby.

Expensive and breakfast not included and it really should be for that money. Could have some more gym equipment

The restaurant was very nice, great food for dinner, talented chefs, however breakfasts were a little disappointing,, all the staff we had direct contact with were very kind and helpful.

The size of the room, the onsen that was essentially just a heated bath and it started to smell very bad after 6 days. The fact we had to make our own futons every night is not really acceptable when we were paying such high prices. When we raised this we were told we couldn't change the booking even though it is at the hotels discretion. Overall really disappointing, when I raised this with the manager he offered us an insulting discount on the service fee. And to add insult to injury when we asked to get a shuttle to our next hotel we were told we could only go to the bus station and train station. We are now in a hotel that is cheaper but offers a free shuttle whenever it is needed. Much nicer.

The bathroom floor has a ceramic peace which is very slippery. I fell down 2 times on my back and I started bleeding. The room was very small. Also they made us pay extra taxes which we didn’t know about. The view of the room was on the trash back yard. Not going there again.
