We enjoyed the location of the hotel. Being our first time exploring the city we chose to park our car and walk to places being that we were in a good location to do so.

Parking was not what we expected. You have 2 options. City parking $10 a day if you don't move your car which is great. Then you have your typical city patking which you pay a price every time you leave the garage and can be hard finding a spot. And valet parking which is $28 a day.

Please Start Serving “real eggs”…the powder eggs were nasty. The Fruit looked old and bruised. PLEASE DO Better Embassy

Our stay at Embassy Suites Greenville Downtown Riverplace was wonderful! The location is absolutely perfect for exploring all that downtown Greenville has to offer. We could easily walk to restaurants, shops, and the beautiful riverfront area. The complimentary breakfast was amazing with plenty of delicious options, and the evening Happy Hour for guests was such a nice perk and a great way to relax after a day of exploring. The hotel itself was super clean, and every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Their excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Greenville!

Super facility in ideal location.

This is the second time I have reserved a room for me and my employees at the Embassy suites. Both times the air-conditioning did not work. I am here right now with no air-conditioning and maintenance Cannot come until the morning when we check out. The front desk let us know they could bring some box fans as well as this happens often. We are sitting here in an 85° room. Oh yeah, and one of the fans that they dropped off, doesn’t even work! I will never stay here again!

Excellent location walkable to everything. Wonderful happy hour know Saturday evening and absolutely amazing complimentary breakfast. We appreciated the delightful service.

The location was convenient, and the breakfast was decent. One thing I appreciated was that fresh omelets were cooked to order at breakfast, which was a nice touch and probably the highlight of the stay.

I honestly do not understand how this hotel justifies charging around $400 per night. The rooms were small and poorly designed, with dirty, sticky floors, unpleasant odors in both the room and the bathroom, a dirty shower, and stained or dirty towels. There was not even a simple washcloth available. For the price being charged, the overall cleanliness, comfort, and quality were far below expectations. I also find it difficult to understand how this property has a 4-star rating based on my experience.

I like the location near the river.

The parking is not good. I pulled up for valet, but no one came out. I had to park far away and trying to figure out how to get into the lobby of the hotel is very confusing - no signs or directions at all. The floor tiles on the rooftop bar are uneven and coming loose, making it feel unsafe. The room was fine, but the sink head was loose. The service was terrible - staff was very dismissive and rude - including the lady at the front desk and the hostess at the restaurant. I had to flag someone down just to seat my 7 year old daughter and I.

The hotel had some very nice qualities such as how well the hotel was maintained. It seemed very clean. The rooms were also a very comfortable size. It’s in a nice location with pay to park self park and valet. The evening happy hour was also a nice touch. I was somewhat disappointed that they did not recall a previously worked out plan to move me to a different room on day 2 so I would not have to move my bags until the new room was ready; although, later they did try to make up for this. I also did not care for an egg cook who was seemingly so disagreeable… to both me and my wife on different days. Also disappointed that their coffee stops being served by a machine at the end of their breakfast time 9:30 / 10 (weekday / weekend). I was also disappointed at how cold their indoor pool was. I would have thought an indoor pool would have been heated but I could only tolerate waist deep.

Great location on the Riverwalk near Reedy Park with easy access to Main Street. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortably firm. The staff was very helpful. There is a city run parking garage below the hotel with very reasonable $10nightly rates and elevator access to the hotel. We were there for Artisphere on Mother’s Day Weekend and parking was a challenge downtown, but the hotel made sure the garage was closed to all but hotel guests so we had no problem getting parking, or worries about leaving during the weekend and having a place to park on our return. Food at the included buffet breakfast was excellent.

The shower door kept sliding open about 6 inches while the shower was in use. Would have liked a comfort height commode as most modern hotels now have rather than a low one. The wood on the backs of the breakfast room chairs were always sticky, perhaps due to deteriorating varnish but they felt like they weren’t clean. Unlike other Embassy Suites at which we have stayed, the lobby lounge was only open for the 90-minute happy hour with complimentary drinks and then closed; no paid drinks were available at other hours and bar selection was limited to the free brands during the 90 minutes. Perhaps this was to help steer patrons to the Ruth Chris inside the hotel (expensive) or the roof-top restaurant/bar (cold and loud). It was cool and windy during our visit to the rooftop bar/restaurant and the enclosed portion was off-limits to the public for a private event. The few outdoor spaces out of the wind and near the two fire pits were occupied. A small sheltered area near the bar was also crowded and too noisy with loud music for conversation among our group. The rooftop venue is not affiliated with the hotel and the host station staff were quick to point that out, dismissive of hotel guests and, unhelpful with questions about other drinking / dining options.

We booked a room here in December for a Christmas gift. We had to change dates due to the snow storm. They made us pay 1 night anyway. We rescheduled for March 7-9. My wife called to confirm last week and our reservations had been cancelled, she had to rebook. So a couple of days ago we received a confirmation email, this morning a phone call to confirm and an email last night to confirm and check in. We drove halfway to Greenville from Lake Norman when we realized we had another email. This one said they were unable to accommodate us and it was their fault but no other explanation. They would put us up one night in the Hampton then we could move over the next day. We do not want to be changing hotels nor did we want to stay at the Hampton. No other solution just sorry tough luck. We had to cancel our Dinner reservations and our tour the next day and our Stay. Great Christmas present. I think they overbooked and we were the casualty. So we paid for a night we were unable to use because of the snowstorm, rescheduled, this was mysteriously cancelled, we rescheduled, then they have us confirm our stay only to cancel halfway there. Really Really poor.

Elevator was broken & being worked on from the parking garage to the hotel. We had to navigate our belongings to the hotel room very difficulty because we’re both 80 year old seniors.

Close to restaurants and activities

Chef coughed all over food then lied about it when confronted. Try to report to management but they weren’t in a rush to come over and the man was still serving the food.

We checked in on Sunday, February 22, to go to a memorial service at 2. Despite it being before check in time, the young lady, Sam, who checked us in made sure we had a room, and that it was near our family members. She was lovely and extremely helpful.

Great location but rooms are slightly outdated for what you pay, in comparison to other hotels downtown. Nice valentines weekend getaway and hotel was packed. Nice to see so many enjoying the weekend and city. Note to self, a romantic valentines weekend may not be the best in hindsight, so many loud couples above and beside our room that were really enjoying their weekend.

I give a 4 the hotel was great and staff was very nice but the pillows was flat not fluffy and the advertised salt water heated pool was cold and was chlorine

Okay, I will stay out with the good. Location is great to walk to great restaurants and breweries as well as song. Location is right by the river walk with the falls. Another good thing is the breakfast but it also kind of falls to negative. I will get to that later. The room layout is pretty nice as well. Keep in mind you are playing over $400/ night not including all the taxes and fees. Then you have two options for parking. You park in the garage you pay $10/ night. You do the valet, it's $28/ night Now that you know what we paid (over $900 for 2 nights), Now let's discuss the bad. The sink in our bathroom didn't drain. We had to take a cold shower because we didn't have hot water. Speaking of shower, the was mold and mildew in the shower grout. And the bottle of conditioner on the wall was empty. They have signs in the breakfast area that advertise certain omelets. When I tried to order one, the employee told me that those signs were just decoration and they don't make those. What?? Next they had a complimentary cocktail evening both nights. The line was so long because they had one poor employee behind the bar getting crushed and she was running out of glasses and ice and no one was helping her. And just so you know. I mentioned the three things wrong in our room to the front desk and the only thing they did was fix the sink. In closing, we don't mind paying what we paid, but things like hot water, a clogged drain, no conditioner and mold in the grout should not be part of it.

The location and the Happy Hour!

I reported items left behind that my daughter had purchased…still in bag and items were never returned to us nor did we ever hear anything back from staff. Very disappointing!

The entryway to locate guest reservations or check-in was on the 2nd floor. When I arrived I expected it to be when I entered the hotel. However, as you enter there are signs to guide you to check in. Very confusing! Also that parking deck was confusing as well. Not certain if I'll be returning.

The parking was awkward

Good location near downtown. Up on the Roof. Accessible parking during the Fall for Greenville festival. Closeness of ice machine on 2nd floor.

We found the beds a little too soft, and didnt get much sleep either night. It was a struggle to get the shower faucet to turn off - not sure we were able to fully master that. Refrigerator had very cold spots that froze our water bottles. No fans in bathrooms.

We have stayed here before and had a great experience the first time around. This time it felt like the hotel was not staffed well enough for the time of year. The floors were dirty, both in the hallways and in our room. The surrounding pool area was a mess and was not stocked with towels. Our pull-out bed still had the sheets on it from the guest before. The location is fantastic, but more attention needs to be given to the cleanliness and upkeep for a hotel this large.

The breakfast was great. Our whole stay was wonderful. But after we checked out, our car would not start. But thanks to your employee Jholeo , he jumped off car. He was extremely helpful to 3 old ladies.

Great location, walking distance to the SCCT which we were there to visit, and also right on the beautiful river walk.

Coffee options were very poor. Staff was okay, but the lines were long, and we did not receive an early check in as requested. Breakfast was fair. Overall, just okay but with a luxury price tag.

Excellent food for a hotel buffet. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The made to order omelettes were outstanding.

The bathroom needs towel bars for hanging towels for reuse. The water pressure was low.

The pool is beautiful, there are towels and sunbeds, which is very nice. Professional and nice staff, always ready to help. Great location of the hotel, we were constantly walking. In general, it is very quiet and peaceful in the hotel. You have a wonderful city, cozy and beautiful!

This is not a comment, just a wish: access to hot water 24/7 so you can make tea or coffee at any time. The water in the pool was a bit cool.
