Absolutely beautiful hotel. We were luckily upgraded to a suite which had a lovely balcony overlooking the breathtaking gardens and private beach. Blankets were provided. Huge, comfortable double bed. Lovely toiletries. Had and excellent evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff. Partner had a massage in the spa which added to his relaxing experience. Would thoroughly recommend.
A very good break.
Beautiful site with terrible service. The staff that we got to talk to were really nice, but most of the time impossible to find. No housekeeping during our stay and if we needed anything there was no way to reach anyone. The pipes in my room creaked the whole night and no one did anything to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, even after I raised it repeatedly. The place is breathtaking, but it feels like the management doesn't care about the guests.
The general attention given by staff was excellent and they demonstrated a willingness to go the "little extra"to address questions or discuss general questions about the site.
Amazing hotel with beautiful grounds and secluded beach. Lovely friendly welcome, great service. Very clean and comfortable. Great food. Stunning surroundings. Beautiful decor. We will be back!
Everything was great. Next time will be even better. Theyll have a pool in 2026!
There wasn’t a bath as advertised in the Hotel.com room description - I booked the hotel mainly because it had a bath in the bathroom as we don’t have one at home & was looking forward to a lovely bath after a long drive. After I explained my disappointment & also my reticence to move rooms after the first night in order to get a bath for the second night, the lovely Hotel Receptionists went out of their way to get another room ready for us which had a bath where we could stay for both nights of our stay. Very happy with this service & made a wonderful base for our Cornish Seal Sanctuary trip for me and my daughter. The restaurant has lovely view of gardens, feels elegant & food was delicious & high quality - they catered for my 11 year old daughter having something a bit more plain from the menu & friendly staff. Wouldn’t say it’s a good hotel for little children though. Gardens are wild and tropical and the giant gunnera are amazing - you feel like you’re in Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Not for the mobility impaired the walk down to the beach. But it’s not a long walk. The beach - when we were there it was unseasonably windy so we couldn’t swim but it’s great that the beach is right there. And sure it’s lovely to get hot chocolate or pizzas from their Bream Box down there open 12-4. Authentic Cornish experience for us. Loved it.
Room was more than comfortable, Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, breakfast was great and tasty. Definitely will be going back.
Good hotel. have a private beach. Nice clean environment. More variety in food would be nice. Thanks.
Incredible park
Very enjoyable stay.
Very good all round.
Beautiful gardens, attentive staff, dinner option, access to beach, tranquil and relaxing.
The property itself is beautiful, not much to do in the hotel itself. The dog had no extras included, staff were quite quick and not easy to find. No draft beer, bar only opened after 6pm so getting a drink was not easy. I didn’t use the dining facilities as dogs were only able to book in advance and I was unhappy with the level of service I received in general. The hotel was lovely to stay in for a couple of nights to relax and enjoy the gardens, I would recommend having a means of transport if you want to explore elsewhere.
Love this place, 2nd time we have stayed and will stay again. Amazing gardens and private beach are an extra bonus
The hotel grounds are gorgeous with lovely paths to a sandy beach through tropical valleys that are full of hydrangeas and montbretias. Staff were incredibly friendly and dogs are not just welcome but liked. We had a room in the old part of the hotel which was comfortable with a smart new bathroom although the bedroom decor was a bit seventies. Dining in the garden at the Saturday night BBQ was great.
Such a lovely break thanks to the position of the hotel, the amazing “anything possible” and comfort of the hotel. The gardens are superb and the walk to the secluded beach with the offer of a lift back if needed. Truly dog friendly and as much attention paid to Woody as it was to us. Faultless stay and will definitely return later in the year. Thank you Hotel Meudon
We had an enjoyable time
The hotel is a hidden gem. It’s a great place to escape. The gardens are lush and beautiful, and the beach at Bream cove completes the picture. The Bream shack is so cute, great pizzas and welcoming, friendly staff member operating it. The room was hot at night, but we stayed during a heatwave ( there was a fan to assist). Sometimes service was slow but we discovered this was due to unexpected absences. Staff were generally efficient and friendly. There are plenty of lovely walks in the area. We walked to Maenporth beach along SW coast path. The hotel is dog friendly, providing a bed, bowls and towel. We all had a great time.
The grounds are spectacular and an easy walk to the beach. The staff were great especially Gerard. Room and ensuite bathroom nice. Dinner service the one night we ate there was extremely slow, but I suspect there was an issue in the kitchen that day and that was not the norm. We spent 2 nights there and I could have easily stayed longer! Thank you.
The surroundings made the stay. Property was really dated and we felt like staying in a care home. However, it was clean and the views of the garden were great. Private beach just about 10mins of walk down through the gardens. Breakfast quality could be better.
Room was adequate but everything had the feel of something stuck in 1950. Dining room uncomfortably quiet and a number of items on menu unavailable. Only one beer to chose from. Seemed like they were operating on a shoe string to close down. No one offered to help with our bags or provide information about how to access our room without stairs.
We arrived in the evening around 20:30 and had to wait around 20 mins for someone to arrive at reception to check us in. No sign of any staff anywhere - very odd. We were informed where our room was but nothing else regarding the hotel (dining room/bar/breakfast area/ luxury additions). We enquired about trying to get something to eat at the hotel but the FOH suggested we go back into Falmouth for some dinner as the kitchen was closed. This was a shame as we had been travelling for a couple of hours after a long working day - it wasn’t particularly late, but we understood. We found the breakfast room the following morning, despite no signs and still no sign of staff generally, we sat and had an alright breakfast at the set time we were given. Later in the day we explored the grounds to find some really gorgeous gardens and a private beach which was truly gorgeous - they’re very lucky to have something as special as that on their doorstop. We decided to stay and have dinner at the restaurant on the Saturday night instead of going into Falmouth for the food festival. The food was generally good - wine list was nice and the staff were very helpful - I think the person serving us was called JJ? Bravo to him - he’s an asset to your team. The following morning unfortunately we were waiting on the stairwell to breakfast for 40mins and didn’t end up getting anything as there were guests leaving the dining room stating that they had been waiting over an hour for an egg…
The location that the hotel is set in is amazing. Great views from the dining room. Was a bit disappointed with the price and choice on the menu.
Lovely hotel, amazing gardens and a private beach, room was nice and very comfortable, nice nreakfast and friendly staff
Superb hotel. Great peaceful location by sea. Friendly staff. Excellent value.
Grounds and gardens are lovely here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, although the service was a little bit slow at breakfast.
Really lovely hotel with superb gardens and lovely walk down to the beach.
Stayed many years ago and high standards have remained. Beautiful gardens. Only downside was the dinner menu which did not change over the three nights we stayed. When we commented on this, we were told that out of high season, guests didn’t stay for more than one or two nights.
A Lovely Hotel and Gardens & its a second visit for us! Alway's clean in all the area's we used and really warm which was needed as it's November, We spent our time walking the SW Coastal Path and visited the local Nature Reserve and TREBAH Gardens which were marvellous
Great place for gardeners with dogs lots of lovely walks and gorgeous food.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Enjoyable and relaxing stay.
What you cannot beat is the location to Bream Cove. Breakfast is classy, nothing too fussy but everything executed perfectly. Rooms are comfortable and the staff are all incredibly pleasant.
Wonderful tranquil location staffed by friendly helpful staff.
Rooms too hot and no way of cooling them down. Beds uncomfortable. Hotel felt very tired and didn’t smell great. Staff were nice. Not the quality I’d expect for the cost. Lovely gardens.
Pleasant room with lovely garden view .
The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The hotel is very traditional and our stay felt quite scheduled (breakfast times, dinner bookings). I’d prefer more flexibility on holiday. The gardens are beautiful but access to the beach is not necessary suitable for someone with reduced mobility.
I was very happy with my stay. The staff are all very friendly. Food was delicious in the dining room. Beautiful garden very calming.
Stunning location and the staff were incredible. Walk to the beach is outstanding. Booked as a gold member on Hotels.com and it said a room upgrade and free bottle of wine was included but didn’t get either but didn’t complain. Just would have put the icing on the trip
Very pleasant hotel. Staff are very attentive and made time to explain everything, nothing was a problem. Thank you
A real jem staff lovely building nicely decorated stunning grounds
Lovely staff made our stay comfortable Lovely place Thank you
We had a fabulous one night stay. ALL the staff we encountered were so warm and friendly. The grounds were beautiful, and we had such a lovely walk through the woods to the beach after eating an amazing hearty breakfast at the hotel. Our room was very cosy and roomy. Would highly recommend, and will be back again.
Incredible Hotel and all the staff are extremely happy and helpful. My dog and I were both welcomed and I will definitely return in the future
We chose the hotel purely on it's location. We could not understand why the hotel had curtains drawn in all corridors, therefore requiring the lights to be left on.(Not eco friendly).Breakfast was good and the staff helpful. There was a smell of mould in the corridors.Overall liked the location, but won't be returning
Delightfully situated hotel. Gardens and easy stroll down to beach and coastal path. Room nicely furnished and reasonable size. Modern bathroom. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Reception and breakfast staff friendly and proactive. Only slight downside was car parking - barely sufficient space for all the guests to park - every evening we played 'hunt the space'. But overall a most enjoyable stay.
A wonderful stay with very friendly and helpful staff. However like so many businesses, recruitment is a bit of an issue so at times it took a little longer for service. Would we go back? Absolutely 👍
We booked to stay here for Monday to Friday, but with the change in weather to give us glorious sunshine on our final day we booked another night. The staff arranged to move all our bags to the new rooms for us, and the whole stay was just relaxed and easy. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept brilliantly. The property is looking a little bit tired in places but this didn’t detract from our stay. There could be more that the hotel could do - the place has been modernised with crisp white bathrooms, but there was no shaver socket in there (you have to ask for a shaver plug), and there is no little light - so you either have the main light on or nothing which isn’t ideal in the middle of the night. The breakfast choices were great, but the indoor terrace where it is served became super hot when the sun caught it, the staff informed us that they were not allowed to close the venetian blinds though, but they did slide open the fire exit for us. There was no air conditioning in the rooms we stayed in so you either have the windows/sliding doors open or not - which isn’t ideal when the balcony the doors open out on to can be accessed from the grounds. Not that I think anything untoward would happen there, it does seem very safe indeed. Parking was easy, but only when there were enough spaces. Without doubt the location was the most amazing feature - just a short stroll to a small beach that very few people go to was excellent. Will we stay again? Absolutely yes.
A haven of trees and birdsong. Steady sloping access to a favourite stretch of coast through lush woodland. Friendly staff, nice rooms.
Such a lovely property. Wonderful setting, great staff. Really comfortable room. Highly recommend.
Great experience.Top pick in Falmouth area.
We returned to this hotel as we love the quiet location and beautiful subtropical gardens. The walk down to the secluded beach through the gardens is a real treat. The service is wonderful, the food is excellent and all in all it’s a fabulous place to stay and relax.
Well located and surrounded by lovely gardens, excellent staff, very clean comfortable rooms, would visit again.
Very quiet. Not particularly flexible unfortunately.
Great staff, from arriving to leaving, very helpful, amazing breakfast and great service in Restaurant, I think one of the waiters/servers was Andy, great guy. Very comfortable beds. The gardens are brilliant, great to sut outside with a glass of wine.
Our third visit to this hotel and I very much hope that it won’t be our last.
Beautiful setting for a hotel, the gardens are just stunning. The bedroom and facilities were superb, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The balcony and view at sunrise was great. The hotel was very welcoming, especially at breakfast in the restaurant, in the sunshine over looking the gardens. The food and service was equally perfect.
Excellent hotel. Lovely gardens, great food, and excellent staff.
Very relaxed, good food , friendly staff. High standard of cleanliness in bedroom.
The rooms could do with more sound proofing. You could hear doors closing and showers running in other rooms. We also found the restaurant quite expensive.
Very impressed with the way the staff catered for and understood my wife's dietary requirements. Great location no complaints.
Stunning location with wonderful garden leading to a private beach. Lovely staff, delicious food, nothing not to love
Beautiful location & ideal as we wanted to walk the coast path. Sadly we will not return as too many niggles :( Problems with check in, dinner reservation confusion & check out, the latter being we were overcharged by over £100, although eventually sorted. Food was beautifully presented, staff very pleasant, but for a fine dining experience and re the cost, we felt the restaurant needed some tlc re décor & cleanliness. We both had fish pie which was served with more potatoes & a little bit of spring greens; a bit of a cheap shot. Ate out after that. However, lovely views down the garden at breakfast time & a good menu choice/ buffet to start the day. Bed extremely comfortable & fab' shower, but our wet room was constantly that & with no underfloor heating trips to the loo meant wet feet! If towels were left on the towel rail they got soaked too. This could be an amazing hotel, but we just had the feeling that perhaps staffing was an issue as they all seemed to contradict each other with info' and no one appeared to be taking complete charge? Other guests that we got talking to seemed to have the same opinion. We were disappointed overall with our experience, but hopefully we just caught them at on off time.
A comprehensive check in process where we were told about all the hotel facilities. The room was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. The best parts of our stay were the warm welcome offered to our dog ( really dog friendly) the wonderful gardens and direct access to the beach, SW Coastal Path and a really good breakfast.
Lovely hotel and grounds. Food was very good but you can’t be in a hurry if you dine here. Food freshly cooked which obviously takes time. Two hours for the three courses. Lovely private beach, reached by a walk through beautiful gardens
Staff were great cant fault them, very friendly. Lovely Venue. The service for dinner was bit slow. Not happy with the Dinner menu as we phoned ahead several times to ask for clarity on the menu as it changes daily, needed to be sure that there would be a decent Meat option. They could not tell us the menu until 6.30pm and our table was booked for 8pm. Sadly as feared we had to opt for the light bites / bar food menu as only a duck and several fish options were available, such a shame. Had hoped a chicken, Lamb Beef of Pork option would be available. Like I said great staff and very nice venue, but Limited Menu and communication of said menu was a struggle...
A very relaxing stay Very friendly staff Definitely would stay again & would recommend
Excellent stay. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the gardens the private beach were really enjoyable. We have an EV and the hotel provides free charging, which is brilliant. We'll certainly be returning and have recommended it to family/friends already.
Quiet, clean, friendly staff, excellent coffee and breakfast, beautifully kept property in a serene and beautiful setting.
Meudon is a marvellous hotel: comfortable, good design, good service, peaceful, great food, relaxing, beautiful gardens. As I am a native of Cornwall (living in London) and my family lived in Mawnan Smith until 2022 there is natural concern from local people about expansion by hotel groups and property developers with new buildings spoiling the beautiful coastline evidenced by truly dreadful new housing at Swanpool Beach. Why wouldn’t there be justified concern. But we were reassured that this would not be happening with Meudon, despite two planning applications turned down, who would not want to harm the beauty of what they have around them. Let’s hope this is true and the hotel just gets better and better, We were very impressed by the friendly and reassuring staff and with pretty much everything at Meudon Hotel which matters so much as it is an area that has great personal significance to me. It’s brilliant. We look forward to returning soon.
Outstanding hotel. Food excellent, staff excellent. Garden room with terrace was superb with a fantastic shower. As for the location and gardens I don’t think I could come up with enough superlatives.
Great, place, would stay again. Lovely food, need to book for dinner and a time for breakfast!
We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with the blandness of the bedroom furnishing. It could have been any chain hotel and sadly lacked any touches which I had hoped for to make it a special place to stay. However the staff were all lovely, the food nice but no red meat for a main course, the gardens lovely and so nice to have a pretty beach to swim off at the bottom of the grounds.
Great location, amazing food and service! Would definitely return there again!
Overall really like the Hotel Meudon and we had a pleasant 1 night stay. Staff were excellent and location is lovely. I didn’t receive a bottle of wine in my room and I was the one who paid for both hotel rooms, but I guess we were upgraded to the suite. We felt that a regular room booked with a balcony for my in-laws was actually better than the suite, as the suite was just a bit bland in terms of decoration/ character. Outside, I slashed my knee on some loose slates on top of a wall in the garden area - no biggie but slates should be removed. A big no no for me in any hotel is when they tell you that this is a no-smoking hotel - I’ve paid a lot of money so I don’t think you have the right to tell me where I can and cannot smoke. Overall, for these reasons it drops down slightly to a 4* hotel but it isn’t too far off the 5*, just needs to get rid of stupid rules and unnecessary hazards in the garden.
We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room by a very friendly member of staff. We had booked a superior room with sea view and balcony. The view can only be described as sea glimpses, because it is a 15 minute walk down a track to the shingle beach and through a forest of trees and shrubs. It would have been useful to have a brochure in the room about the history of the older part of the hotel because it is an interesting building rather than having to ask the staff. Our in room safe was not working and once locked could not be opened again, this was inconvenient. Our bed was very comfortable with excellent crisp white linen. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the toiletries good quality, although for some a non slip bath mat would have been a good addition because there wasn't a grab rail when stepping out of the bath/shower. The table that we were allocated in the restaurant was as we had requested and the dinner and service was excellent by all the restaurant staff. Breakfast next morning was an equally very pleasant experience with all our requests met. I had left 2 messages prior to our arrival regarding our request, but didn't get a confirmation. This would have given peace of mind about my messages being received. After booking a room, I returned to the website only to find that the price had reduced by £30 within the space of one hour. Can someone explain this phenomenon please. Overall a very pleasant stay in a hotel that we would recommend.
Excellent hotel set in beautiful gardens with the most delicious food ….. compliments to the chef ! What made this hotel really special for us was the staff who were all so friendly, helpful and professional, they have obviously been trained well, the gardener also found time to talk to us and provide us with such fascinating information Special thanks must go to Jo and Immie 😀 We would have no hesitation in recommending Meudon Hotel
Excellent, had fabulous time
A most enjoyable stay. We were made to feel very welcome.
Great service, friendly staff, great location. Will definitely be back.
Relaxing country hotel which is characterised by a truly outstanding team that delivers exceptional service. We will be back…
Disappointing ,appreciate these are difficult times , but no excuse for dirty cups in the room ,just generally disappointed ☹️
Quality break away in these strange times. Hotel had great procedures and well felt very safe. The gardens and grounds are amazing with beach access only a 5 minute walk through lush, tropical vegetation. Staff are friendly. I very rarely say that I would stay in the same hotel ads in as I like trying different ones but I would make an exception with this one. Truly an exceptional break.
Conformed to Covid regulations. Simple and safe check in. Staff were very friendly and helpful when required. Clean room and superb breakfast.
Was nice location service was good
the location is great, however the interior is a little dated and could perhaps do with a bit of a makeover
Lovely location with direct access to beach. Our room was comfortable and clean. The dining room staff are untrained. The quality of the food was good, but the cooking and presentation was disappointing. No love of cooking in evidence. Breakfasts were partcularly underwhelming and nobody seemed to care. Staff interests lay in discussing their own private lives.
Our stay with the Meudon was very pleasant and the staff very friendly. The building however when driving in needs a lot of attention.
We took a short break to Falmouth and found an absolute treasure of a hotel, the Meudon. So piece full and romantic. The grounds were so beautiful and well kept. The staff could do enough for us. We will definitely be going back 😊
Garden was very good, rooms seemed a bit tired! No extractor fan in shower, inside clothes storage a bit poor?
The gardens ; the staff; Poor sound proofing, you could hear creaking, foot steps and the bathroom from the floor above.
good
Friendly staff Good location at quit part of coast Beautiful garden
Amazing location with beautiful gardens & gorgeous beach at the end of a short walk below the beach. We loved our stay
Meudon Hotel has a unique character which makes it a very special place to stay. We all enjoyed the relaxed ambience and the genuinely warm welcome. The staff were friendly and personable. Out of our party of 5 people, we all commented on the comfortable beds and excellent showers. The complimentary Meudon Hotel fudge was delicious and much appreciated! Of course what really sets this hotel apart from the rest is it’s fabulous location: we enjoyed a beautiful walk down through the lush gardens to the private beach which has sand, rock pools and an amazing view across the bay. None of us wanted to leave: all of us plan to return. It was an absolute delight to stay at this lovely hotel. Thank you for such a memorable and enjoyable stay.
