We have rarely experienced a hotel with such genuinely warm, caring and attentive staff. From the very beginning, everyone made us feel completely at home. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable, and the food was consistently very good and plentiful. What really makes this hotel special, however, is its people and the wonderful atmosphere they create. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

何より素晴らしいのは施設と周辺環境です。エラの大自然の中に複数のコテージが点在し、部屋は広く洗練されています。高級リゾートに滞在している満足感と、大自然の中で過ごしている開放感を同時に強く感じられる、特別な場所です。このホテルが有名である理由がよく分かりました。 早朝のリトル・アダムズ・ピークへのショートハイクも素晴らしい体験でした。ガイドの軽快な案内で20分ほどで登頂でき、頂上から眺める景色はまさに絶景。日の出も見ることができました。ガイドがビューポイントを教えてくれ、写真も撮ってくれたので、とても良い思い出になりました。 朝食も申し分ありません。メインを一品選び、フルーツなどはビュッフェ形式。エッグベネディクトはこれまで食べた中でも最高と思える美味しさで、目の前でカットしてくれる様々なフルーツも絶品でした。そして何より、素晴らしい景色を眺めながら食べる朝食は最高でした。

施設そのものの完成度が非常に高いだけに、サービスのオペレーションには改善の余地を感じました。 ディナーでは、料理のメニューが渡されない、水をお願いしても15分ほど届かない、注文したくてもスタッフがこちらに気づかない、といったことが続きました。 また、チェックアウト時に荷物の運搬をお願いしたところ、ロビーに届くまで20分以上かかり、予定していた出発時間が少し遅れてしまいました。 施設、自然環境、客室、朝食は最高水準だと思います。それだけに、この価格帯のリゾートとしては、サービス面のオペレーションがさらに改善されれば、より素晴らしい滞在になると思います。

1. No value for money at all. They overcharged us for a simple double room. 2. Food needs to improve in quality. Spread is very limited. 3. Facilities are all over priced. 4. Hotel gave us a discount voucher to use in their pool club but then the Pool club didn't accept it rather charged the full price.

Peut-être ajouter un pare vue entre les villas pour éviter de voir ses voisins dans la piscine...

Everything was perfect

Toute la prestation est à la hauteur du coût de la chambre. Tout est très bien. On est au milieu de la nature avec une vue incroyable. On a dormi les rideaux ouverts pour profiter de la vue dès le lever du jour. Je ne comprends pas les commentaires des clients qui se plaignent des bestioles. Hey ho on est dans la nature !! Heureusement qu’on y trouve des insectes et autres bêtes !! 🤪 La proximité des accès au Nine arches bridge et Little’s Adam pick est un vrai plus.

Un petit souci d’odeur d’égouts dans la salle de bains. C’est vraiment le seul bémol. Sinon merci à tous ceux qui œuvrent pour nous permettre de passer un beau séjour dans ce merveilleux cadre.

Schöne Lage in Ella, man kann zu Fuß zur Nine Arch Bridge gehen und zu Little Adams Peak. Tolle Aussicht. Gut organisierte Fahrer die einen zu den Teeplantagen und ins Zentrum bringen.

Es waren recht viele Geckos im Zimmer, aber das ist in Sri Lanka halt nun mal so dafür kann das Hotel hütet nicht unbedingt was.

We loved our room and miss waking up every morning to the sounds of nature, birds, squirrels.. the views were just spectacular. We also enjoyed a guided morning walk to Little Adam’s Peak. Staff were helpful, and everyone very kind and friendly.

We had the best stay at 98 acres. We are a family of 4 and booked the Grand Executove Suite as a special treat. We are well travelled and can honestly say this hotel is number 1. Everything about 98 acres is special. The location, the food, the views, the comfort of the rooms but what really takes the hotel to another level is the people and the quality of service. So much to do in Ella including a nature walk and secret waterfall with the hotels naturalist Deneth (who was brilliant). Special mention to Ashan and Parsad who took such good care of us. Thanks again to the whole team for making our stay so memorable.

Although we were only there for two days we had a fantastic time and wholeheartedly recommend 98 Acres. Service, scenery and food were all top quality. We look forward to returning some time in the future.

e had our Ella Rock climb with Gayasha the Naturalist from the 98 Acres Resort & Spa. In short … it was amazing! Gayasha met us with a tuk tuk at 4:30am and although you might think that’s a crazy time to be starting a hike, it was the start of a spectacular morning. It was dark and mysterious as we started the climb but Gayasha’s knowledge and soft manner made the trek a pleasure. We chatted and walked and before we were half way up a couple of dogs decided to join us for the journey (don’t be afraid they were tame and just wanted to have some fun). We continued the climb and all the while Gayasha was teaching us wonderful things about the local area and the wildlife. With that we were at the peak and settled in for a tea and biscuit waiting for what turned out to be an awe inspiring sunrise. Gayasha continued to share his knowledge and teach about this amazing place. Our journey was not finished and we continued on for more amazing views and … well that’s for you to find out. All in all I highly recommend the morning Ella Rock walk and if you’re lucky enough to have Gayasha as your naturalist, you’re in for a real treat.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Grand Executive Suite with Plunge Pool which was absolutely amazing. The room was beautiful with an infinity plunge pool looking out over the hills and tea plantations. The staff and service were exceptional and the resort was beautiful. The breakfast provided was excellent including a mixture of both a la carte and top quality buffet options. I would love to go back to this resort - it was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.

We had a wonderful stay at 98 Acres Resort & Spa in Ella. The hotel is absolutely fabulous, with stunning views, excellent facilities, and a very relaxing atmosphere. We were even upgraded to a bungalow with a private pool, which made our experience truly special and unforgettable. A special thanks to Freddy, who drove us by buggy from the reception to our bungalow. He was extremely kind, professional, and helpful with all our luggage, and he made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The combination of the beautiful property, outstanding facilities, and the warm hospitality of the staff made our stay exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ella!

I went to 98 Acres restaurant with my managers and executives for a business dinner coupled with a training session. Mr.Chandana and Kusal were nothing but wonderful, attentive and helpful looking after my team. Beautiful place, perfect ambience with perfect weather in Ella. Highly recommend the place, the team and the menu options.

We spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at 98 acres and loved every minute. The location is beautiful and the view from our room was incredible. We found 3 nights gave us a chance to climb Little Adam’s Peak, visit the 9 Arch Bridge but also to use the lovely spa and relax by the pool. Dinners were lovely, with music playing in the restaurant creating a good atmosphere. Amanda was particularly lovely serving us. The view from breakfast was fantastic. We would love to visit gain in the future.

What an amazing hotel. We stayed here for a few days towards the end of July, and we will truly not forget it! The location is out of this world, with outstanding views of little Adam's Peak and the hills all around. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, as well as being very clean. Service was amazing, with everyone being really friendly. Special mention to Sathees, Shanish and Dhines, who were incredible and so hospitable. We were especially impressed with the lunchtime food; we won't forget the salads from the pool for a long time! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 98 Acres - thank you!

Excellent experience. Room was beautiful and the views were stunning, you could just sit and look from the balcony all day. The staff were exceptional. Everyone we dealt with were happy to help without feeling overbearing. Amanda and Imesha at the restaurant provided a great service. I had the Authentic Sri Lanka experience meal and it was delicious as were the hoppers and curry breakfast. We treated ourselves to a massage and spa experience which was also great. Dulanjani and Jesmi are very skilled masseuses, one of the best massages I’ve had! Walking distance to little Adam’s Peak (30 mins) and the Nine Arches Bridge (30 mins) and also into Ella main town (30 mins) or a quick tuk tuk. Only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

What a hotel, it is just outside Ella, which is a busy, bustling tourist town. The hotel is set in stunning surroundings with unbelievable views. Hard to find fault, it is a nice blend of high end with a relaxed feel - food was great - rooms really nice - team a super friendly bunch. Too many in the team to pick out, but Malar by the pool, Indika and the restaurant team and our best buggy guy

My family stayed two nights in this hotel. Everything was excellent except the buggy service. During rush hours like breakfast/dinner and checkout we had to wait for some time until one arrives. I hope they will improve this in future. We enjoyed the surroundings and great views. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Food and the ambience in the main restaurant was great. Our waiter Hashan provided an excellent service. The morning walk to Little Adam’s peak guided by a hotel staff member was a new experience. The hotel staff were also helpful in arranging two tuk tuks for us to visit the Nine arch bridge. Overall this is a great place to stay in Ella.

This hotel offers a fantastic experience from the beginning to the end. The service is impeccable, the staff is extremely friendly. Great rooms with a stunning view from the balcony. Beautiful swimming pool with a lot of lounge chairs. The food in the restaurant was so good. I also did a one on one birdwatching tour with a true nature specialist, Gayasha. This was such a nice experience, we saw so many beatiful birds, with a lot of extra information, in a fantastic scenery, I would really advice this to everybody that loves the fauna and flora of Sri Lanka. I hope one day to come back here!

The experience we had at 98 Acres was second to none. The views were surreal from any angle of the resort. The staff were so polite and nothing was too much for them. The rooms were kept very clean and masiive rooms which was so nice. I would 100% come back and atay here longer than just 2 nights.

Great hotel with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and tea plantation. Beautiful restaurant and pool area, big luxurious rooms, wonderful friendly staff, and great food both for breakfast and dinner. We loved that the dinner was a set menu and not a buffet. Of all the hotels we visited in SriLanka this was the one we loved the most. I wish we could have stayed at least one more night.

The stay was far too short during our round trip of Sri Lanka but this place is a true highlight ! The restaurant staff were also amazing, a special shout out to Indika Mangala who too great care of us ! Views are spectacular here ..

A vista do quarto onde ficámos é qualquer coisa de absurdo. Muito lindo mesmo. O quarto é muito grande (exatamente como nas fotografias. A entrada que deram no nosso chek-in foi das melhores coisas que comemos no Sri Lanka. O pequeno almoço é excelente, a localização perfeita e o staff é bastante atencioso sempre a querer saber se está tudo bem.

No pequeno almoço demoram um bocado a servir e até se esqueceram do nosso pedido, mesmo depois de termos relembrado duas vezes. Não serviu para manchar a nossa experiência já que a comida estava fantástica e o staff foi sempre muito atencioso.

Our stay here was the best! We would recommend it to everyone. The rooms are clean and modern, service is amazing, the food is great, location is convenient. This may be our favorite hotel ever.

The view from the bathroom was amazing , the arrival and farewell blessing and gift, the room was a delight with fresh vasket upon arrival with 🍾 champagne!

The only thing to improve is to include the heated pool as part of the hotel facility given the price we pay

This was the most amazing hotel. The rooms and food were fantastic. I had a 98 treatment which was a full body, facial and head massage which was absolutely divine by the lovely Jesmine who was so attentive and excellent in giving the different treatments. The ambiance and hotel staff made our trip a real gem. Thank you 98 acres for welcoming our family and giving us the most memorable stay.

We took part in the Kithul Toddy Experience today at 98 Acres. It was very enjoyable .Deneth lead the experience and was interesting and informative . I would recommend this tour into the dying art of toddy tapping.

98 Acres is a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views and an excellent restaurant serving both international and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. Every meal during our stay was delicious. A special thank you to Sudarshan, who looked after us throughout our three-day stay. He served us at every meal and was always friendly, attentive, and professional. His outstanding service made our experience even more memorable. Highly recommended when visiting Ella!

Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. The room and food were amazing but the staff and hospitality truly makes it a wonderful place. Our family of four loved the beautiful views from the plunge pool in our room over Adams Peak. It’s close to town and activities such as zip lining. The staff couldn’t be more helpful - we would love to come back again one day.

The most beautiful hotel set in the hills behind Ella over looking tea plantations and the hills- a very special place where we have been beautifully looked after- we have been trekking the Pekoe trail and walked to 9 Arch bridge, then back at the hotel I have had a decadent and terrific massage in the spa over looking the plantation, to the sounds of birds and a warm afternoon breeze- the pool is stunning and the food delicious. I have also had a really perfect couple of hours bird watching in the early evening with Deneth the hotel’s nature guide- a charming Zoologist undergrad who explained to me the area and the different bird’s characteristics that we were spotting. It’s been a perfect peaceful and happy place to stay.

We had the 2 hour couples massage by Jesmi and Swarna what an amazing experience they were so skilled they sent us to heaven the venue is stunning and so relaxing and our 2 lovely masseurs were so professional and skilled we can't imagine there is a better spa anywhere in the world the flower bath after was amazing thank you for such a great experience

We had a fantasic stay at 98 acres with 4 adults and 2 kids. We stayed in a apartment with our own swimmingpool. We also had a butler that transported us back and forth between the apartemt and resturant/reception which is a must since its quite a dictance to walk. Top standard and nice restaurant (Sadarshan great service) with great live relaxing flutemusic. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Update to our original review: the hotel confirmed the points in the review were valid and launched a full investigation into them. The hotel manager stated they have taken the complaints seriously. The hotel manager wavered the spa and food bill we had as a gesture of apology. We were contacted the day after we checked out to remove our comments as it was “disheartening staff”. Although we agree the gesture and severity is being considered, we feel it is unfair to completely remove the review as it happened and other travellers will need to be aware to ensure improvements have been made and maintained. Our original review was a 1 star with the comments below: Unimpressed to say the least. We arrived and were greeted with building works in the resort. We had dinner here our first evening and the waiter forgot our starter, we were waiting over 25 minutes until I asked them for an update. Day two we were told to order drinks at the pool bar, however, there was no staff there to take orders. After waiting for 15 minutes I went to find someone. Once we finally ordered drinks we were still without our drinks 20 minutes later, we had to go and find someone to check if they were coming (the pool had hardly anyone around it!). We eventually ordered drink number two and they completely forgot so we went back to the room. Breakfast teas and coffees were served without spoons and cutlery was taken in-between courses and not replaced unless we asked for them. The spa/massage was good and when the food finally arrived it was tasty (hence the one star!) however the overall waiting service was horrendous the whole time we were there. The pool was dirty with lots of leaves, hair, and oil from skin and it clearly hasn’t been cleaned. Staff pushing for tips even though they haven’t done the basics. Awful experience, wouldn’t return and would avoid. There are other hotels that have the same stunning views and no doubt better service.

Absolutely breathtaking location. The view from the hotel room is stunning, service very good and quality food. Joined a yoga lession in the morningsun. Very qualified instructor and great experience. I would love to go there again.

The stay at 98 Acres was magical. Food was spot on and facility was breath taking. We did the Ella Rock climbing hike with Deneth as our guide on July 10th, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. The climb itself is no joke — steep and challenging in parts — but Deneth made it feel completely manageable. He paced the group thoughtfully, checked in on everyone throughout, and kept spirits high with constant encouragement when the trail got tough. What really stood out was his attention to detail. He took the time to understand our group's specific needs and made adjustments along the way so that everyone was comfortable, without ever slowing down the experience or making anyone feel like a burden. He clearly knows the trail inside and out, because he timed everything perfectly — we reached the summit right as the sky started to light up, and watching the sunrise from Ella Rock after that climb was unforgettable. Deneth's mix of genuine warmth, patience, and local knowledge turned a physically demanding hike into a smooth, joyful experience for the whole group. If you're planning the Ella Rock hike, ask for Deneth — he'll take great care of you and make sure you don't miss a moment of the view.

The chalet with its own pool was the absolute highlight! So beautifully done and room facilities were fabulous. The staff were very lovely and the location could not have been better. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing but the Sri Lanka dinner at the restaurant was outstanding and a great experience. The Spa was an absolute must - we did the 98 Kusuma treatment and it was the most special experience of my life!

I thought this property was very expensive for what is included (which was essentially only breakfast). We stayed at many other properties which were the same style but more things were included (dinner and massages). However I thought the Spa was excellent value for money!

My husband and I stayed at 98 acres for one night as we were travelling around Sri Lanka. I wish we had scheduled in another night as it was such a lovely experience. The location is beautiful, with amazing views from the accommodation . We went on a bird watching trail walk where we spotted numerous birds. Our guide, Indika, was very knowledgeable and also pointed out interesting plants and trees . The room we had was beautifully furnished , with a spacious outside space. It was very quiet and peaceful, just what we needed! The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Our stay could not have been better! The location, the food, the spa and the staff were 10/10 - especially sardarshan, thank you so much!
