Shiretoko Village

My husband and I really loved this stay. Very authentic onsen experience. Not some fancy modern hotel but a really charming authentic place. When we arrived, we also booked an hour in a private onsen with an outside bath which was really nice and not expensive. It was our first experience sleeping on futon beds - it was nice and comfortable. Of course futons are harder than a classic hotel bed, but we knew it when we booked and we got 100% what we expected. The restaurant was nice, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. All in all, it was a very relaxing true Japanese onsen experience. A machine with hot green tea as well as water and ice was available round the clock. I would like to especially thank the reception staff. First of all, they were very welcoming and explained to me how to use the public onsen, gave me a power adapter as I forgot mine, and spoke very good English which made the communication easy. On top of that, after leaving we realized I forgot my computer charger in the room. I contacted the hotel in booking.com chat and they shipped the charger to Osaka explaining to me where and how I could pick it up. I am really touched by such a caring attitude towards the guests. Thank you!

私は８月の中旬に利用をしたがエアコンがない為、少し利用時に熱く感じることもあったが 寝ることができないほどではなかった。 建物が古いもので、冬場はかなり冷え込むことが考えられるので着込めるようにしていれば対策できるように感じる

是在山中的民宿，有溫泉，房間是榻榻米那種，乾淨整潔，食堂有提供付費早餐晚餐，師傅手藝非常好，非常好吃！離開時下雨，有車送到下面的巴士站

需要從巴士站走15分鐘的山路上山，如果有帶行李會拖得很累，但可能可以詢問是否可以接送

Stay here for a few nights. It’s a good home base.

- It gives a cabin in the woods vibe - exceptional dinner serving deer and bear. Amazing service - great Japanese breakfast. They made a special breakfast for my daughter with no extra charge - location is good as its the only one available in the National Park

-hotel needs some serious upgrade. Everything is outdated and dirty. The walls, carpets, doors are so old and filthy -smell in the room was unbearable. It seems that they dont open the windows so the room has a musky, mouldy, bamboo smell. I couldnt sleep at night - uncomfortable, outdated and dirty bathroom - im not sure if they cleaned the room - wooden onsen was the worst we’ve been. Mould everywhere. Dirty and small facility. Me and my daughter did not go in the water as it seemed horrible - money dont worth it ! A very pricey hotel for no reason - Booking.com should review this hotel asap

食堂で注文したジンギスカン定食が最高に美味しかった。 家族全員喜んでいたし、珍しくごはんを皆おかわりしてた。 温泉もとても気持ちよかった。

部屋が湿っぽくカビ臭い部屋もあった。 浴室にセーフティボックスがなかったので少し不安だった。 家族でまとまれる部屋が欲しかった。

The onsen was really nice, actually I hate sharing bath facilities with other people in hotels (I almost always have a room/privvate bathroom together) but using the onsen and showering there was nice, relaxing, and fun. The breakfast was nice, simple, and tasted great. The staff were friendly and helpful. On a clear night, the sky above the hotel is amazing and full of stars. We were lucky to have one of those nights!

It would be nice if it was an all non-smoking place. Also, the price was a bit high for the small room with just a rolled mat to sleep on. If you don't have a car and use public transportation, some people might not like the fairly long uphill walk to get to the accomodation.

A great Japanese feel with welcoming and helpful staff, onsen and meals available in the dining room. A short way up the hill by car or on foot from the centre of town with room to park my vehicle. Excellent value for money.

Staff were organized, detailed, and friendly.

My room was two doors down from the microwave in the hall. Because the walls are thin everything seems really loud - microwave beeping, room doors slamming all night until about 11:30 pm and then starting up as early as 4 am as people are getting ready for a day of hiking. Talking in the hall by the tea and water fountain and microwave outside of my door could just as well been right in my room it seemed so loud. Courtesy of fellow guests could have been better.

部屋が暑くクーラーもない。風通しが良くないので尚更。温泉が熱いうえ蛇口もお湯しか出ない。

Wir waren 2 Nächte hier und wurden beim Check-in sehr freundlich empfangen. Auf dem Flur wurden kostenlos Wasser, Tee und Mikrowelle angeboten, was sehr angenehm war. Es gibt eine Waschmaschine und Waschmittel, welches man vorne erwerben kann.

Leider gab es im Restaurant der Unterkunft kein vegetarisches Essen, weder zum Frühstück, noch zum Abendessen. Das Onsen war angenehm warm, jedoch gab es kein kaltes Wasser zur Abkühlung, sodass der Raum etwas stickig wurde. Als Alternative gab es keine Duschen. Den Kühlschrank im Zimmer haben wir aufgrund der Lautstärke nicht benutzt.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura per 4 notti. È in una posizione leggermente fuori dal "centro" del paese, quindi un'auto sarebbe consigliata. Ci sono due parcheggi, uno a ridosso della struttura ed uno praticamente di fronte. La nostra camera era al secondo piano, la numero 7, e ve la consigliamo caldamente: noi eravamo in due, ma le dimensioni della stanza erano davvero generose (cosa non scontata in Giappone) e, confrontandola con le altre camere che abbiamo visto, era sicuramente sopra la media. Inoltre, al secondo piano c'è massimo silenzio la notte e l'affaccio sul verde ci ha consentito di vedere i cervi la mattina! La struttura è abbastanza ben tenuta, la pulizia OK, asciugamani nuovi e biscotti tutti i giorni. L'onsen è OK, ma la cosa molto piacevole è stata la possibilità di riservare l'onsen privato ad un costo contenuto (1300 yen mi pare); altamente consigliato per rilassarsi in privacy con la propria/o compagna/o. All'interno della struttura vi sono anche un ristorante (che non abbiamo provato) ed un locale lavanderia molto utile che funziona a gettoni. Nel complesso siamo rimasti soddisfatti anche considerando il costo più contenuto rispetto ad altre strutture in zona.

Private onsen was amazing. You will find a pure Japanese old fashioned experience in there.

We visited at the hottest day of summer, which was told by the front lady. It was little hard to sleep cuz there was no AC in my room. But seems it rarely happens in summer season. Anyway I slept well.

Loved the whole place, staff where very kind and the bathhouses there were very cool

Pleasant room. Tatami floor and comfortable futons. Utoro township not far away with convenience stores and restaurants-- really need to drive as it's up a hill. There was hot green tea available all the time. Onsen was great. Easy trip onward to the wonderful Shiretoko National Park. Don't miss Furepe Waterfall-- an easy path leads there from behind the visitors' centre.

Large and plain restaurant. Meals we ate were so bland and not cheap.

I had a lovely stay, my room was nice and comfortable and the lady that did my check in was very kind and friendly. It's a great place to stay to explore the region.the restaurant was a good surprise too, the chef was really nice and the food is great !

Amazing service in such a remote location

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Shiretoko Village. The room was comfortable, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and for just a very small additional fee we enjoyed access to a private onsen that was both relaxing and atmospheric. The traditional Japanese breakfast was superb and one of the highlights of our stay. We would love to return in the future and highly recommend staying here.

The place was very cozy and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was yummy, main dish for breakfast changed every day which is nice. Plenty of parking space outside the property. Conveniently located with 2 convenient stores down the hill, and plenty of small local restaurants around the area. Highly recommend this hotel.

Endroit tranquille à cette saison. J’y ai passé 3 nuits. Attention la route entre Shiretoko nature center et Rausu est ouverte mais pas de bus. Trop de neige pour les sentiers au Shiretoko pass. Bus pour aller jusqu’aux 5 lacs. Onsen propre. Personnel à l’accueil parlant anglais. Lit confortable couette douce ainsi qu’oreiller. Bon wifi.

Il n’y a pas de douche , obligation de se laver aux sanitaires du onsen.

風呂上がりに漫画がまったり読めるのがいい。旅先で贅沢な時間を過ごさせていただきました。

洗濯機で両替機があると便利だとは思った。あとは、洗剤もフロントでの販売だったので、洗剤購入、両替と二、三回往復するには、少し面倒になるくらいの長い距離であった。チェックインの時にランドリー室のことを尋ねるお客に両替と洗剤購入の二点を説明しておけば、面倒が減るかもしれない。

Authentisches, japanisches Gästehaus. Sehr sauber, mit einem großen Onsen. Man darf die Onsen auch tätowiert nutzen. Man konnte vegetarisches Frühstück bestellen, was sehr lecker war. Wir übernachteten in einem privaten Zimmer. Sehr nettes Personal.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Keine Abkühlmöglichkeit (kaltes Wasser) in den Onsen.

La simplicité

提供的晚餐以及早餐很好吃，完全符合溫泉旅館的供餐水準。

Hanare館的客廳晚上橡蟲氾濫，甚至有些會飛行圍繞燈泡，雖然蟲子遲鈍好抓，不太會咬人，還是會對旅館產生不好的印象。

Simple, nice and traditional low cost accomadation with good basic onsen with great water .The staff were especislly helpful when we accidentally left a passport in the room and had travelled to our next place, going out of their way to organise next day postal delivery and were very attentive and helpful with prompt replies. We really appreciated their effort and we received the passport with good time. They understood the urgancy and really care

Room wasn't too clean and was very small for 3 people. The onsen was on another building, so we had to walk at -10oC to the other building and back

Très beau Ryokan à l'est de Hokkaido. Les bains onsens ont étés mes préférés de ce voyage-ci avec leur design plus naturel et la vue sur la forêt. Le déjeuner était très biens et le personnel, surtout le monsieur qui nous a acceuilli en soirée, fort sympathique.

Ma chambre venait d'être vermifuger, l'odeur était bien présente.

温泉非常好，两个池子，温水区和热水，很大。枕头被套非常好闻，散发着暖烘烘的太阳烘干味道，这点酒店也许是体验不到的。

臭虫很多，根本打不完，如果你怕虫子不会建议，我不是很怕就是担心飞到我身上。上坡路挺累的，尤其下雨我拉着行李箱，全当有氧运动了哈哈

시레토코 동네에 유일한 게스트하우스로, 가성비 숙소를 찾는다면 추천합니다. 렌트를 해서 방문한다면 주차장이 바로 앞에 있습니다. 넓은 대욕장(온천)이 있습니다.

중심지(버스정류장)와 많이 떨어져있고, 오가는 셔틀이 없습니다. 겨울에는 눈이 쌓여있는(빙판) 언덕 길을 올라야합니다. 체크인/아웃 시에는 다소 힘들 수 있습니다.

It’s very comfortable and cozy place to stay. And staff are very helpful and friendly. It’s also so nice to have hot green tea available at all times.

The heater system got very strong gas smell even when the window is closed.

外は氷点下だと言うのに、なぜ室内にカメムシがいるのか。

Staff was super nice and wholesome!

I liked the onsen and the drink station. Also the ability to warm up your food with the microwave provided. The staff during Check-in spoke english quite well, which surprised me, as this is not always the case in Japan.

The room smelled quite musty or moldy and I couldn't open the window to get the smell out. Also there were a few dead insects in the room and the bathroom. A bit expensive considering these factors aswell as that it is quite far from Utoro Bus station, so takes about 15 to 20 min to hike up to the hotel.

Cheapest place to stay near shiretoko and a true traditional japanese inn , nothing fancy but have a real soul to it, room are simple and the onsen is public

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer gemütlich. Der Onsen war entspannend. Alles war sauber.

Es lag etwas ausserhalb des Dorfes. Der Preis ist etwas hoch für diese Zimmergrösse ohne private Toilette und Dusche (ist an einem Touristenort aber auch zu erwarten).
