Location
Needed a revamp.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely pub, friendly helpful staff, the suite was gorgeous we stayed in

This place is a beautiful place to stay . Just came home from a 2 night stay. So lovely peaceful and all the staff are amazingly friendly. The breakfast and evening meals are fantastic 10/10 . Wish we had more time to stay . We are from surrey but will will be visiting Yorkshire again and this place will be our place to Stay..
There is nothing not to like not to like so lovely and friendly.
All was so good Staff amazing, all meals very good with a great selection. Position suited us well central to all places we wanted to visit
We found the bed a little snug Not a problem justa comment
Location! And the restaurant food was amazing!
A small thing, but We couldn't get the heater sorted. It kept turning off.
Comfort, independant hotel with a cosy feel. Plenty of parking space. Quiet.
The room was very comfortable clean and tidy. The staff where very friendly and helpful. Would stay again, no question. All in all a very nice place to stay.
Nice outdoor area Rooms good
All good
Food & hospitality excellent

Great location. We were riding The Way of the Roses and this was perfect. Secure bike parking, comfy bed, good shower, friendly staff, lovely food and very clean.
Nothing not to like
Quality breakfasts friendly efficient staff and a comfy room with balcony perfect.

Lovely stay at Chequers Inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast great.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, nice and quiet.
Nothing
Easy check-in, clean and comfortable rooms. Pub staff and food were great.
The only thing I would suggest is the rooms with baths/overhead shower is putting a handrail to get in and out of the bath with ease.
The location. The bar and good menu choice.
Nothing. All good
Location and very clean
Just a few extra hooks for towels in the bathroom works help
Clean and comfy, good value
Warm welcome, beautiful gardens, hearty dinner and breakfast.
Room maybe a bit tired looking, but overall comfortable.
The location was great, with it nicely close to both Harrogate and Knaresborough… Just what we needed it to be. Parking is very good, available and free! The shower (water pressure) in our room was great!
Our stay was adequate, but there were little touches and attention to detail that would not take a lot of time to do and wouldn't cost too much, and that would make all the difference between an adequate stay and a good, memorable stay. The biggest thing we missed was some form of air conditioner or at least a fan as standard in the room (especially as we turned up at the tail end of one of the recent heat waves). Most things worked, but only just. That said, it was reasonable accommodation if you use it as a base for getting around and simply crashing out to get cleaned up and get some sleep.
Friendly staff, peaceful location and easy parking
Great place and friendly staff

Good location Very friendly staff Good food Lovely surroundings Very clean and comfi
All well
Great having a balcony . En suite very good and hot. Eating area / bar very good and very good choices.
No7 we could hear the boiler at times.
So lucky to spend a weekend here managing to eat at the Chequers Inn on Friday and Sunday , the food was excellent, the staff are friendly and well organised, The Sunday Carvery is probably the best ive ever had , good value. beautifully cooked, home made deserts - perfection. ,
Lovely owners and family property’ Food for 2 dinners and breakfasts were amazing!
nothing
Friendly, family run place. Great food, had both evening meals and breakfast.
Flott rom og hyggelig personale
GPS signalene kom og gikk. Ruten kunne vært forklart. Skilting?
It was clean, very friendly and comfortable. Liked the balcony. The food was excellent, and staff went out of their way to be helpful
Rooms a tad small, heavy bedding for summer
Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and modern.
Only a minor point, only 1 vegetation option on the dinner menu which my wife didn’t like so we ate elsewhere
The location is perfect for a trip into both Harrogate & Knaresborough, roughly 15mins to both. The Chequers is set in idyllic countryside and the perfect place to unwind. The entire team made myself & my Wife feel very welcome & at home! A special mention to Linda & Rachel - perfect! Our room (10) was perfect too - as described with the added bonus of a balcony. We had breakfast on our first morning and it good, £14 is a bit steep but, it was good! We enjoyed both evening meals which were incredible value for money & fabulous too! Overall we had the perfect time & we’ll be back, for sure!
Perfect in every way, couldn't fault it.
Everything
Delicious food, really big portions. Lovely staff, very accommodating. Super clean room. Comfy bed and nice to have a terrace.

Efficient and friendly Freshened up rooms between the 2 night stay Food excellent
Nothing
The bedroom was well appointed and seemed clean, the bed was comfortable.
The room was on the ground floor of a separate building. The so-called terrace was actually part of the communal route into each room. The bathroom was very dated and needed a deep clean to get rid of the smell. Definitely not worth the money we paid.
Beautiful room with balcony overlooking fountain in the garden. spacious, great layout with lovely bathroom and furnishings. Staff friendly and attentive. great base for exploring local area.
Occasional traffic noise and early tractors if light sleeper with windows open in summer. Otherwise great value for money.
Clean and comfortable
Room a bit small - balcony but no privacy
Fairly good, nice room.
The shower needed temperature control, it was difficult to get the right temperature. Also it need handrails over the bath.
Great location near to Fountains Abbey (allow a full day for your visit bc there's heaps to explore) and Brimham Rocks (perfect spot for sunset and really quite impressive array of rock formations to scramble around). The pub has a lovely garden and the owners are friendly and helpful.
Very welcoming friendliness staff. Comfortable, very clean room. Good fresh food. Overall an excellent experience.
Nothing
A lovely quiet country pub if you want a nice retreat out in the countryside. Food n beer were reasonably priced and very tasty 😋 so everything you need to stay on site with a lovely garden to sit out in. A bit out from Ripon and Harrogate but taxis weren't too bad to get to n from both towns. A great room with comfy bed and very clean bathroom with a great shower 🚿. I'd definitely stay again 😀
Only thing I can fault was no fan in the bathroom but tbh that's pushing something to find fault with 😂
Lovely clean pub, hotel. Very friendly staff and very kind as we arrived late due to traffic. Kitchen had closed at 8pm but they went out of their way to provide a meal for us even after the kitchen had closed. Beautiful and clean bedroom. Couldn’t faulted this place. Even the gardens were beautiful.
Loved it all
Quiet country location. Fantastic staff and service. Good food available. The room was very clean and serviced daily.
We had a lovely and relaxing stay: our room was was very cosy, nicely decorated and tidy with a comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, as we arrived a little before the check-in time. Wi-fi was working fine. We did not have any breakfast but had a nice dinner. We enjoyed the quietness of the countryside in the evenings and spent the days exploring Ripon and National Trust sites nearby. This was a very good value for money, we were very pleased with everything. Thank you!
Excellent country hotel.Nice clean comfortable room with good facilities. Owners and staff very pleasant and helpful.Food was very good at dinner and breakfast Definately recommended
It’s location
Amazing location and stay. Perfect for a quiet escape and having direct access outside of our room with somewhere to sit was a wonderful suprise and huge shower 🥰 Will definitely save this as a favourite place to stay.
Friendly staff, good food. Easy parking. Beer garden had the weather been suitable.
Nothing really
Good location and overall very comfortable. Excellent staff and good value for money. Would happily return.
My room was comfortable and clean, but to be honest needed more electrical sockets, and possibly USB sockets. One in the room was not sufficient for phones laptops and smart watch charge up. But that should not detract from the overall positive and comfortable stay.
Our room was rather tired. However we understand that many rooms have been upgraded. We arrived assuming that our allocated room was on the ground floor but it wasn't, so we were given a ground floor room that obviously had not been refurbished. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast, although not included was absolutely delicious and great value.
The top sheet under the duvet...why?
The location is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and the food was great 😃😃👍👍

Lovely hotel. My room was comfortable and clean. It is in a very peaceful location, and I loved hearing all the birds around the hotel
Great evening meal, very helpful staff and super breakfast.
Lack of ventilator in bathroom.
Loved the room had a balcony, lots of tea , coffee , milk and biscuits , outside are gorgeous and relaxing bar and food delicious
No bus stop or anything in walking distance, you need a car
Breakfast was very satisfactory and a pleasant restaurant.
Nothing comes to mind.
Everything
The pub was shut on Sunday night
Quiet location, but near to local attractions. Nice and clean facilities. Staff were excellent, despite being very busy. Good choice of great reasonably priced food, served quickly. Beers good too. Plenty of parking space.
Nothing during our stay.
Beautiful location, only 12 minute taxi into Harrogate. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely cosy rooms. Stylish and spotlessly clean
Really lovely surroundings and accommodation
Really clean and cosy rooms with a little terrace.
Breakfast and evening meal were excellent
Everything very friendly staff the rooms were spotless the location is lovely the food was outstanding even the owners dogs were so lovely and friendly

Great room, friendly staff, lovely location, free parking. Really enjoyed our stay.
WiFi was a little patchy but gave us a good excuse to detox from our phones :)
Fantastic food
Room was lovely, upstairs with a balcony. 2 doors one at the front to a private balcony and a door to the rear from the walkway to enter the room. Fabulous bathroom, deep bath and powerful shower. Plenty of hot water. Restaurant.. Good menu All home made food.. Baileys Cheesecake to die for..
Nothing to complain about.
The staff were very helpful and polite. Beautiful views as we stayed in the king. Loved the bedroom . The meal. was very nice, as was the breakfast
The bed was a bit hard, but that's personal preference. Could do with a 'to do ' helpful notes in bedroom for accessing tv and heating.
We visit Chequers quite often and absolutely love the place and the staff, which is mainly made up of family members. We’re just back from a 3 day stay and as usual we had our usual warm welcome and the most delicious steak one night (steak is our usual option) the second night I opted for fish and chips. The fish was so nice, big white flakes and very tasty. Hubby had the haddock Thermidor, again very tasty and well presented. We had a dessert one night and I can honestly say the roulade is possibly the best I’ve tasted. Hubby had apple pie and was uncertain whether to have cream or ice cream. It came with both for him. All the desserts are home made and well worth a try if you’ve got room after very substantial main courses. But, Last night we changed our selection completely. I went for a prawn cocktail starter and he had the crispy beef. Both were outstanding but hubby said it was the best started he’d had there ( we’ve tried them all) uncertain about mains I asked Harry (owners son) what specials they had on. He told us about the chicken schnitzel and then he suggested the salmon in Mediterranean sauce. This was absolutely amazing. Cooked and presented to perfection. I cannot recommend this lovely restaurant with its relaxed atmosphere highly enough. If you’re ever in the area, or fancy a delicious meal cooked to perfection try Chequers You’ll love it
What a lovely hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff, especially the young gentleman we had most of our dealings with, could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. The dinner was outstanding and breakfast was just what we needed. We will definitely come back again if we are in the area. We have now ticked off Chequers Inn on our bucket list! 😀
The face we did not book for more nights
The friendly staff, the room was excellent clean and well decorated. The shower was very good. With the pub next door so getting food was really good. The staff remembered our favourite drinks and were attentive and kind.
Very clean & comfortable also very quiet.
Well run with good food and brilliant parking

Fantastic hotel every thing was spot on
Great Food nice people
Nice and secluded, quiet place. I just wanted to rest after a long travel. Liked the food, location and staff.
The glamping pod, quiet location, friendly owners/ staff, comfort, underfloor heating, good shower, comfy bed, good pub meals.
Hob was tricky to operate, TV wasn't digital so couldn't use Internet, towel rail in bathroom didn't work
The evening meal was delish. The room was great for the money.
The breakfast was a bit random. No one around to ask for anything and I asked for no tomatoes and got one. The offer was quite basic.
Friendly staff, good food in the evening and at breakfast. Plenty of parking space. A decent choice of ales. There was a balcony which would be nice to sit out and enjoy the sun with a glass of your choice.

Staff were really friendly and helpful
Great location
The food was amazing home cooked and tasty
Quite location
Easy access. Nice modern decor. TV and wifi.
Bar can be very loud and noisy, not sure why the restaurant wasn’t open on the friday but other than that very good.
The staff were absolutely amazing! Nothing was ever too much trouble and every member of the team went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Their friendliness and dedication really made the experience special.
