This was a really nice three star hotel with wonderful views of Lake Kawaguchiko. It was great for walking around the lake, to the nearby shops and restaurants and parks. We had half board and both the breakfasts and evening meals were lovely - plenty of options, tasty and freshly prepared. The snacks and drinks in reception (all day) and the drinks included in the dinner were much appreciated. The staff in the hotel were exceptionally kind and helpful.

The bath was too small to have a bath in it.

Bellissima esperienza in cui non ci è mancato proprio nulla! Siamo stati accolti dal facchino appena fuori la struttura e all'interno ci si poteva ristorare con acqua, caffè, prosecco, granita e snack! Abbiamo goduto l'esperienza delle onsen e degustato diversi cibi tradizionali, indossando lo yukata che davano all'ingresso da utilizzare internamente! Al check-out ci hanno lasciato una cartolina con dedica, abbiamo apprezzato molto il gesto generoso ed accogliente, sarà un ricordo che custodiremo con cura! Ci ritornerei, se ripassassi nuovamente a Kawaguchi!!

Habitación amplia con vistas al lago y todos los servicios del hotel (baños públicos, biblioteca, dulces, bebidas, etc).

Uns hat auf jeden Fall die riesige Animebücherei gefallen. Des Weiteren gab es Snacks und gratis Getränke, die Sashimi Kochshow war das reinste Vergnügen. Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen.

Le soir nous sommes arrivés "trop tard" pour bénéficier du buffet ni de la navette. Décevant après 16h de transport entre le vol et le bus de Tokyo jusqu'à l'hôtel sans compter la marche pour y arriver. Nous étions épuisés et l'hôtel n'a pas proposé de solutions ou d'aide.. personnellement 19h-20h je ne trouve ça pas si tard vu le prix...

Amazing ! Great Staff, comfortable room with a good view and private onsen. Good selection of food for dinner and breakfast. And the free shuttle from the station was a great bonus.

We liked all the amenities such as the sweet cart and shaved ice machine. We really liked the onsen and the manga room, and the karaoke room was a good touch.

It was expensive for the quality. The range of food on the buffet dinner and breakfast was good, but not great. We were expecting a ryokan for the price and didn’t really get that.

Der große Mangabereich mit niedlicher Leseecke und auch einer guten Auswahl an Mangas auf Englisch! Das buffet am Morgen war wirklich gut ausgestattet und mir hatte es geschmeckt. Die Zimmer mit Ausblick waren einfach toll 😊

The location

Overall, our stay was not terrible, but rather disappointing. The hotel lacks charm, and both the décor and facilities feel quite dated. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, but unfortunately the quality is rather mediocre, and the dining hours are surprisingly limited and strict, which makes the experience less enjoyable. The staff were polite but rather impersonal, with little sense of attentiveness or genuine hospitality.

子どもたちが楽しく過ごせるホテルを探していました。漫画やギッズコーナー、カラオケ、卓球等喜んでくれました。部屋も広くて良かったです。スタッフさんは皆さんとても優しかったです。

Все было отлично, завтрак и ужин в удобном формате шведского стола. Номер уютный и удобный, в японском стиле. Онсен отличный, очень понравился вариант под открытым небом.

Минусов для себя не обнаружил!

The shuttle bus that comes to pick you up from the bus/train station was very comfortable. The lunch is a must have, the selection and quality of food is excellent. Breakfast in my opinion could be slipped. Private onsen placed on a balcony was also comfortable, but the wooden bariers could be higher for mental comfort that you will not be seen after getting up .

Most people praising Hotel Koryu in here must have been to another place. For us it was a totally different, most horrid experience. Honestly, it's tough to slam it on because the staff was really super friendly and helpful. But the place is a mess. It's not the lack of love this place received, the room we've seen was simply not cared for at all. Me and my husband we walked into the room and literally out again after a few minutes. Already contacted the management and they did apologize - which we think is great. But guys the room you gave us, please close it down and never open it up for others again. Unless you completely refurbish it.

Love this place; it was such a pleasure to stay there. The staff were very friendly, great view from the room, good experience in the onsen, we loved the chill zone with manga, and wanted to stay for a bit longer.

The serene location and the friendly staff. The hotel felt somehow ‘old’ but in a very fashionable way.

The Koryu was an incredible hotel. I splurged for the private in-room onsen which I think was a great choice for us. My wife and I both have a lot of tattoos, which apparently would not have been a problem anyway to use their public onsen, but the privacy on the balcony while sitting in the hot tub was really nice. It had a beautiful lake view and the staff was all incredible and went above and beyond to celebrate our honeymoon. The food was great (even had a fish preparation demonstration and served the fresh sashimi right then and there) and it was right on the sightseeing bus stop to get to places. There was a huge manga reading room that we didn't really use but that would be great if that's cool to you. Also, the traditional rooms with tatami mats and futons on the floor were really nice to experience but also comfortable. The shower also was a huge area. Past that, Kawaguchiko was a great little town to be in as well, as we got to go to the Forest Music Museum (weird but interesting for a short visit), walk around the lake, hike the Aikogahara forest, and finally on the last day that we had to leave, see Mt. Fuji as the clouds cleared up, which is really an incredible experience to be so close to it in this village.

I can't think of any particular cons for this hotel. It was great.

Polecam z całego serca! Pokój z cudownym widokiem i wanna na zewnątrz to strzał w 10! Można wypożyczyć rowery elektryczne, co bardzo polecam i zwiedzić miejsca. Też chciałabym pochwalić recepcjonistów, którzy byli bardzo pomocni i wspaniali! Na pewno tu jeszcze wrócimy :)

- Sehr schöne Zimmer - Die Boden-Betten waren sehr bequem - Tolle Aussicht - Service top!!! - Nicht weit weg von Kawagutchiko Station (Red Line nehmen bei Busstation 1) - Servicepersonal spricht gut englisch

- Das Buffet war für den Preis zu wenig und vieles war auch nicht lecker (nicht gewürzt, teilweise roh)

　迷惑をかけてしまいましたが、スタッフの皆様が快く大変親切に対応して頂き、感謝感激でした。 　宿泊日の朝に車と荷物を預かって頂き甲府方面に行って来ましたが、帰りの電車に乗り間違えて、食事終了時刻を過ぎて戻って来る羽目になりました。本来なら食事は出来ないのですが、ハイキング料理を懐石のように盛り付けて残して頂きました。その上、終了時刻を過ぎているのも関わらず、ワインや日本酒のボトルを全種類集めて自由に頂けるようにして頂き、お腹いっぱい飲食させて頂きました。 　総支配人所蔵のコミックやアニメキャラクターグッズが大量に展示してあり、自由に閲覧出来て感動して見せて貰いましたし、大浴場も内湯+露天風呂とは別に展望露天風呂が有り、宿泊、食事共に満喫させて頂きました。 　また来たいなと思っております。

Un très bon rapport qualité prix par rapport aux établissements du même type de la région. Le personnel est aux petits soins, comme partout au Japon. Le restaurant façon buffet propose un nombre de plats différents très conséquent et nous avons bien apprécié la démonstration de découpe de poisson. Les horaires d'ouverture élargis des onsens publics nous ont permis d'en profiter en totale quiétude.

On a connu des futons un peu plus confortables lors de notre séjour au Japon.

Красивый отель с несколькими зонами горячих источников. На первом этаже был аниме сектор с книгами, где можно было отдохнуть и полистать мангу перед заездом. Нас заселили чуть раньше положенного времени, спасибо!

Мы арендовали приватный Онсен и вода была грязной после предыдущих посетителей, в общественных банях такой проблемы мы не увидели. У нас также был куплен обед, но это оказался обычный шведский стол, за деньги которые мы заплатили если честно мы ожидали немного большего, хотя еда была вкусной, но не было ничего особенного.

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. The only thing I can say is I wish I booked more time here and less time in Tokyo. Next time I will spend about 4 days here and limit my time in Tokyo. From the yakata, free unlimited snacks, free drinks, and even have a small shaved ice machine for guest. The little store has some neat items and best of all is the manga cafe they have. If you read the history a little in the cafe you will see where the the owner, Togawa, worked in the manga industry. He built the library himself and the hotel was built by his grandfather, managed by his father, and then taken over by his uncle. Togawa now runs it and has been since 2019. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. The Japanese style room is great. Some people think it is dated but me personally it saves and holds on to the Japanese charm that lead me to visit Japan to begin with. Thank you to the Hotel Koryu staff and Togawa. You have made our 20th wedding annivery and my wife's birthday incredible!.

Menuda experiencia, la ubicación es perfecta para caminar por el paseo del lago, pudimos ver el monte Fuji en todo su explendor. Las vistas al lago desde la habitación son muy bonitas, la comodidad de un futón es muy personal. Yo dormí de lujo. Al llegar puedes coger gran cantidad de golosinas en la recepción y puedes pasearte en Yukata por todo el hotel. Reservamos un onsen privado, lo mejor que pudimos hacer, es una agradable experiencia. Para la cena y desayuno fuimos al bufet del hotel, recomendado. Conclusión volveremos seguro.

Hemos estado en la habitación de onsen privado, y ha sido espectacular. Además de un personal muy atento que hasta nos obsequiaron con detallitos para comer a pesar de que ya era tarde y de habernos retrasado mucho. Muy amables todos muy limpio y una habitación espectacular

I loved every part of this Hotel. The room was beautiful with fabulous lake views. The food was amazing and the staff were all polite and helpful. Location is perfect for Fuji . The outdoor onsen was wonderful. 100% recommend this hotel

The staff here are incredible, they are helpful and warm and nothing is too much. The room had absolutely stunning views of the lake. There was everything you could possibly need for your stay available and it had a small shop on site. It was a short walk to shops and cafes and about a 20 minute walk to the station although the do a free shuttle service if thats too far so don't be put off. There's an all you can eat and drink buffet on an evening for just less than £25 which excellent value and a really good way to try some new foods and drinks.

Nothing to do with the hotel but the area is very quiet on a night and restaurants close quite early about half past 7. If you are looking for a few drinks on an evening look up oar blue bar which is a craft ale bar, it is a bit pricy but really lovely inside. There's also a nice bar in an hotel called authors, they also have a roof top area with stunning views of mt Fuji but be warned the walk up to the hotel is steep! But worth it.

La cena y el desayuno era muy variado y de lo mejor , hasta tenían un sushiman trabajando a la vista. Las vistas al lago eran sensacionales, el personal super amable, te vienen a buscar en un bus hasta la estación y después te llevan cuando te vas en forma totalmente gratuita. La habitación super espaciosa y el lugar para tomar el baño en el sector público impecable, lastima que no se veía el lago porque le pusieron una esterilla para que no se vea ya que uno entra al agua desnudo , o sea sin traje de baño. Tiene una excelente biblioteca de manga y dibujos para chicos.

Le faltaba mantenimiento de pintura y a algunos sectores de madera en la habitación. También faltaba una buena mano de pintura en los palieres. A partir de la noche esta el pueblo con las luces apagadas y si no tenes auto estas en problemas ai queres hacer una caminata o ir al centro despues de la cena.

Ventilation très bruyante avec un niveau sonore élevé dans la chambre. Egalement, besoin global d’un coup de jeune pour les chambres. Hôtel assez vaste qui reçoit des groupes.

Although the hotel is a bit dated, we really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are clean and have a great size. The traditional breakfast buffet offered various dishes with English descriptions and was incredibly tasty. The two onsite onsen are also a huge plus. Additionally the staff are incredible nice and helpful - they even provided a candy bar upon check-in. Luggage storage is also not a problem for the check-in and check-out day. The hotel is a bit outside of the man town, but the walk isn’t long. There is also a big Manga library at the hotel, with various places to relax and read. We would definitely stay here again.

Can’t fault a single thing. Great location, beautiful view, traditional rooms with a cosy feel, free snacks on arrival, coffee and shaved ice dessert for free! Tattoo friendly onsen baths and real cool manga library attached!

We rented the room with a private onsen looking out over the lake. It was stunning. Food-wise, the buffet was a bargain and had a wide variety of tasty options. The location is unbeatable, I recommend staying at least 2 nights, though we only stayed for 1.
