Staff were friendly and location was great for what I needed.

The room I was in had seen better days. Cobwebs, dodgy wiring and I could feel pretty much every spring in the mattress.

Food in hotel was excellent ,had issue with bathroom lights on check in ,it was resolved promptly ,nice bar restaurant area . 2 min walk from one end of Lord Street, street parking and car park adjacent hotel £8.50 24hrs .

Room needs a proper clean ,dust on skirting boards and thick over mirror ,feather duster on walls and ceiling needed . Having said this ,I would recommend and stay again .

Room had a fan in the kitchen so it kept me awake at night. No staff to do breakfast on first morning which i was entitled to. Girl behind bar was not customer friendly .

The location was very good for visiting Southport. The lady in reception was nice and pointed out where we could park the car for the weekend. The room was on the small side but pleasant enough. The bar area was nice and the staff who served us, was nice.

The breakfast was continental and included in the price, it was a fair enough breakfast but could have been a bit better. The choice for myself was a bit limited. I asked for some gluten free and the young girl said that she had to defrost it. Not an issue, I can appreciate that it isn't readily to hand. There was some ham, cheese and eggs - may I suggest a bit of fresh tomato or something just to liven it up? There was plenty of choice for anyone that didn't need gluten free so hubby was more than happy with it. My biggest issue was that I had an accident. There was an umbrella stand in between a couple of tables, which I did not see at all, did not expect it to be there in the walk way and I tripped over it. I was cut, as I had my glass in my hand, and injured my knees totally. They swelled up horrendously and I spent the weekend in pain. My issue with the hotel is that, when I mentioned it to the staff, they didn't write anything in an incident book? which I thought was best practice. Plus they didn't move the offending stand. Most of the customers were older than me and I just felt that it was another accident waiting to happen.

We had a lovely clean room, it smelt lovely too when we arrived. The hotel location is perfect, really enjoyed being on that side of southport. We had cocktails in the hotel and they was great. And the food was good too, good value for money. Staff are lovely and friendly too. Thanks will stay again.

Breakfast was awful we paid extra for this the bacon was over cooked like leather the eggs were fried on a dirty grill pan has they were black underneath with black hard bits all over the underside mushrooms quite cold and were just slivers and the sausage had a funny taste to it a new chef needed

The only thing I noticed was the toilet near the bar was in desperate need of a revamp - especially the radiator!

I had the cooked breakfast which was very tasty and I appreciated that filter coffee was available! Paying extra for the cooked breakfast was definitely worth it. The outside areas were nice and the staff were friendly. The location is also great.

I stayed in the single room which felt tired and wasn’t very clean. I noticed wires taped together with duct tape, the mattress was lumpy, and I could hear people talking through the walls. The other rooms look great on photos at least, but I wouldn’t stay in the single room again.

We stayed in room 15 Castle bedroom and I was disappointed with the cleaning we had stains on the carpet cracked sink dirty tissue under the bed and bathroom was full of stains and mirror hadn’t been cleaned and toilet flush didn’t flush properly I paid for a superior deluxe room and it was no where near that standard

A gift for mothers day from my daughter to go to the flower show. We booked this hotel upon reading good reviews. Unfortunately we are under the not so good reviews set. My daughters room was extremely dilapidated, tiny, there had been a leak in the ceiling and was very dirty. The young lady on reception was amazing and said she understood what we mean and changed her room. Brilliant 👏 you think. My daughter went to close the new rooms window but her feet got soaked from the carpet. She did go to report it as the radiator was also there and wondering if that's what was wrong with the original room as it was underneath the new room. The maintenance came checked out the radiator and carpet radiator wasn't leaking 🤔 told the owner would be in at 9pm we left it with them. Got back from the show and the room absolutely stunk of wet musty water. We waited until 9pm in my room and well. We only wanted to help them out letting them know. The owner came up to the room felt the carpet said yes it's very wet but you left the window open. As we tried to explain she has misunderstood that the room had to be changed because of the wet ceiling in the room below , see she wasn't happy that the move was made because the new room was more expensive and the young lady didn't charge, she then proceeded to tell us we'd said it WAS the radiator when in fact we'd said we think it could be. Also that's it's not her problem and then why are we staying there. None of us drive to get back home and couldn't book another hotel we'd saved for this and the hotel was paid for in may. We told the lady (owner) we actually reported it as others will be paying to stay there in that room after us and that her responsibility is the building and obviously there's a problem we were trying to help She then proceeded to raise her voice told us we had the wrong rooms anyway.

I booked a single room, room 7, needs a new mattress, felt bumpy. Not very comfortable. Noisy seagulls squawking early hours. My daughter and granddaughter had a double room, they said their bed was comfortable.

Staff was fantastic, great service. Checking in was easy. The bed was so comfortable and the room very clean. Olly and Holly behind the bar was very polite and easy to talk with.

Lots of choice for the excellent continental breakfast. The location was quiet and close to Lord Street. They have someone on reception. There was plenty of seating downstairs including outside space.

The shower head support had ceased to function. I couldn't get any cold water out of the tap. There needs to be a better window with more of it that can be opened for these hot summers.

Room was comforatble, so was the bed. Shower weak flow. Continental breakfast was OK. Would be better if they did full breakfast every morning. Sunday roast was good. No dinner service Monday evening.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful from outside to the inside the room was absolutely unbelievable luxurious I was over the moon.

The hotel is lovely with really welcoming staff. We stayed in the castle room with a four poster bed which was extra special. This was our second time in this hotel. I have just finished radiotherapy and this was a night before my surgery planning with my oncology team. The hotel is off the main road so quieter and a short distance from places to eat with plenty of on road parking if you are less mobile. The hotel itself has a church opposite where you can park for your stay £8.50 per 24 hours with money going to the church. We were back by 8.40. The bed was really comfy and we didnt hear noise from other guests/rooms.

It was very stuffy in my room and not easy to regulate the shower.

The public areas were very spacious and nicely decorated, and cool ( it was very hot weather !) The meal in the evening was excellent and very good value. The continental breakfast was excellent and ample. The staff were very friendly and helpful Good to have a fan in the room.

The bedroom was a bit on the small size for a double room, with limited clothes storage space. We were only there one night so it was not a problem, and next time we stay ( and we will be staying again) we will upgrade to a larger room if one is available.

Just a heads-up on parking: there’s an extra charge for the hotel lot, but you can find free parking on the street (though it gets tough in high season). If you’re a Blue Badge holder, it’s super easy—you can park in any roadside bay for free with no time limits, just make sure your badge is on display! Breakfast was fantastic and really well presented. The whole place was spotless, and the staff looked so sharp and professional. They completely put Premier Inn to shame. This is exactly how a hotel should be run!

Booked a twin was given a double, asked for it to be changed was told, obviously, fully booked and would see if the bed could be changed. It wasn’t. Towels, one supposed bath towel may have dried one leg, possibly. Was given two more towels of similar sizes. Remote control for tv did not work, not that we were there to watch tv but supposedly a “ superior double”. Breakfast was included in the booking, on arrival was told it was a buffet breakfast but a cooked breakfast was available for an additional £8:50 each. I am being polite by saying it was poor. Overall if that was a “superior” room I feel extremely sorry for the people people who stayed in regular rooms.

I was dumpt in a L shape room on 1st floor room 7 very small looked like a cupboard they made into a room tv was 2 small ....i asked about food and got asked if made up my mind on ordering 4 times very pushy considering the expencive prices !!!!!! ....due to my experience will not stay here again !!!!!!!!!!!!

Our room No.11 was maybe the only picture not on booking.com. Zero room to even get changed, tiny bathroom. I feel like I booked this hotel totally with false advertising. Breakfast included is only a continental breakfast. We paid extra on arrival for a cooker breakfast.

Sehr gute Lage relativ Zentral in Southport in einer ruhigen Nebenstraße, ca. 15min zu Fuß zum Bahnhof, günstiger Parkplatz gegenüber an einer Kirche. Das Frühstück in Büffetform könnte ein bisschen mehr Auswahl haben, aber man wird satt. Abendessen hatte war gut mit guter Auswahl, auch an der bar konnte man Abends bei großer Auswahl gut verweilen.

Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig (gerade wenn sich im Nachbarzimmer ein Pärchen streitet ;-) )

room 1 had 2 single beds pushed together that did not match in height. the one had springs issues and was lumpy. we were moved to room 18. this was dirty and smelly. we were moved again. the new room had a broken shower (water ran out the bottom and nothing from the shower head), burn holes in the carpets, stains on the bedding, holes in the wall, a view of the rear which looks like a council dump. it is not 2 stars let alone 4.
