The breakfast was really good!! Lots variety of food! Sri Lanka (Hoppers, Idyappam) and Western food. Like pancakes and Frenchtoast and eggs. Also Dinner was really good! Live Cooking station available. The property is nice. The staff are very friendly- especially Hashi the Reception/cash collector lady.

The property could be cleaner and the rooms aswell, they could look under and behind the Beds to clean. Also the Bathroom could need more scrubbing.

We love the facilities and the staff Especially Kelum and Danushka, they were so friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome!

Wij waren in het regenseizoen, daardoor minder gebruikt gemaakt van de faciliteiten. Het is een prima hotel. Ruime kamers en het bed was prima. Personeel extreem aardig. Buffet ontbijt en diner met prima opties. Locatie is een beetje afgelegen. Je moet 20 min met de taxi / Tuktuk naar Sigiriya.

Locatie is niet in de buurt van een dorp / supermarkt.

Friendly staff who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kids loved the pool.

Bit out of town so unable to walk to shops if you needed anything.

The hotel had a good location. We got a complimentary room upgrade with a stunning view. Breakfast was rich and tasty, and the staff were incredibly helpful.

The organisation is woeful. We had to change rooms, because the room type we had booked was not ready when we arrived. We were given a deluxe room, one grade lower than booked, and a free drink each as compensation. No tonic or lemonade available so no G&T as requested. The room had a noisy fan, an uncomfortable bed, AC which was stuck at full speed, an electronic safe that could only be used with a key and no mini fridge. The new room (superior deluxe) has missing bathrobes and no telephone. The robes had to be chased several times. On arrival back after our first day out, our room had not been cleaned. We were advised that we had to leave our key at reception when going out and put the 'clean me' sign on the door. This was not advised and is not like any other hotel I've stayed at! Pool times were advertised on the pool sign as 7am-9pm albeit reception staff advised that it opened at 7.30am. We tried to take an early dip but was told by the pool guy that it wouldn't open til 8. One morning they ran out of pool towels even though there were half a dozen guests. We ate at the buffet which was passable. Some things were incorrectly labelled (chicken was actually fish). Not sure why previous guests have reviewed the food as incredible or delicious. Also had to pay for water at breakfast which is a first for us. There were so many issues, we pursued the difference in room rate and that the free drinks would suffice as inconvenience for having to change rooms - we just wanted to pay for what we had in the way of rooms: 1 night deluxe rate and 2 at superior deluxe. After a lot of discussion and re-explaining, they deducted $15 per room. In all, there are some really lovely staff there who are friendly and well meaning - they just need some training.The rooms are spacious and the pool is huge. The hotel has the potential to be great

One of the best hotels I have stayed at in Sri Lanka, I would recommend to anyone looking to stay here. Thank you Oak Ray Elephant Lake🐘 -Amazing Breakfast to suit all tastes -Staff are unbelievable, the best I have experienced in Sri Lanka -Pool is massive and there is a life guard -Room is very spacious, beds are SUPER comfy, AC works great -Wifi in all areas of hotel -Hospitality is amazing here, from the start right to the very end. The staff make you feel so welcome and special.

Smart TV would have been nice but understandable not to have one.

The garden, the location and the pool. The staff upgraded our room when they were informed about our honeymoon.

The restaurant area needs improvement to be more customer friendly and modernised. The shower needs better cleaning from limescale. They also need to have duvets in the rooms or blankets.

It would have been better if I had not chosen this property, as it offered no value for money whatsoever.

Liked the buffet breakfast and dinner are amazing considering you can’t leave after dark by foot. Pool is great for families, bathrooms are spacious, good tv channels.

Mattress was really bad, very very uncomfortable, springs were in my back. Bath drain didnt work. Service to the pool area is slow.

The swimming pool was great and the customer service by all the staff members was fantastic.

I would make the facilities of where the food is served better. The high chair for example was falling apart.

Pool was the best thing about the hotel very big and not a lot of people around. The grounds was kept nice and clean

Breakfast was poor not much to choose from and juice was in a machine were you could see mould it, rooms we had to ask for them to clean rooms as no toilet paper or fresh towels given, bar was very basic and dirty, accommodation was too far out from main attraction would not go back

Location was great. Room spacious

Facilities were run down. Room could be cleaner, shabby/ill maintained and was very dusty/musty with dead insects. Light in room wouldn’t switch off as switch was stuck.

- rooms were clean. - rooms are located in groups so not disturbed by large crowds - rooms were moderate - most of the staff tried hard to support the guests with the means they have

- the facilities are not well maintained. (Tubs, TVs, etc) - some rooms were located far away restaurant and reception. Although there was a golf cart to transport guests between locations, it was not operational. - rooms were not ready even 1hour after checkin time - lady at reception was very unhelpful - discrimination for booking.com guests. A week before arrival I confirmed via booking.com that our driver gets accommodation. On arrival concierge lady refused to offer it saying the driver accommodation is given only for the booking by travel agents. Altjough I showed showed her my call log and asked her to verify by calling that number she refused.

We stayed in standard room which was real well equipped, good air con and nice bathroom. Lovely swimming pool and decent number of sun beds. We had half board so breakfast and dinner included. Both meals buffet style and a good amount of choices western and Sri Lankan. Staff are friendly and attentive. Lion Rock is about 20 minutes drive.

For the price of rooms I think a fridge should be provided as we stayed in much lower priced accommodation on this trip and all rooms (including home stays) provided a small fridge in the room. Also no cold drinking water provided at mealtimes. Location wise there isn’t anything in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - no shops or restaurants but as hotel provides half board this wasn’t a problem except for getting water - the hotel provides 2 small complimentary bottles daily. You can buy in the restaurant but only smallish bottles.

The rooms are spacious and well cleaned, Pool was great, Breakfast was just fine, lovely and welcome staff.

The mattress was not conferrable for me, we were located on the ground floor, so we had noises from the above residents.

We booked for a standard room, the room was dark and dingy,the shower and AC controls did not work. we asked for an paid upgrade ,however since the property was full, hotel staff told us they will upgrade next day. We got upgraded the next day, the upgraded room was good.

Excellent staff.... They were very helpful and kind, they even helped us with our baby while we were in the restaurant. Great location, relaxing environment and nice food.

The staff is so friendly and the rooms are spotless and tiny. The pool is spotless and fresh. the best thing is the food is so delicious. Thank you very much for the great experience. The surroundings are also very peaceful and calming.

The surrounding was so calming. The room was clean. The staff was kind enough to upgrade our room to a deluxe room free of charge. The dinner and breakfast both were tasty. The biggest plus point is the gigantic pool. The pool was clean as well. We visited the Sigiriya lion’s rock in the morning and got a little late to cone back to the hotel to checkout. However, the staff was friendly enough to accommodate our concern and allowed us a late checkout for free. Kudos!

Lovely room and pool. Monkeys and peacocks wonder in the gardens. Large bathroom and good WiFi/AC. Friendly staff.

The TV was not working and they could not fix it The internet is not working My landline was also not working After informing the front desk they still didn’t fix it. So for my whole stay I didn’t have TV, internet and telephone.

the property was old and run down and needed a refurbishment big time. the lock on the door was broken and even after telling them 3 times no one came to do anyth about it. At check out I was over charged and not what I thought I was paying on bookings.con. they overcharge us by 50usd.

It’s near to sigiriya

Great place to stay if you are heading to or on your way back from the amazing Sigiriya. So pleased I found this place, an absolute gem and the food was incredible. Finally a dinner in a good hotel that was cooked to order and not a buffet style set up. The pool was amazing.

Not their fault at all so this is not aimed at them but oh my goodness the mosquitoes!!! Take spray!

Found 2 pillow cases smelly probably not washed. In the description it is mentioned that there is a mini bar but there was no mini bar at all. Bath tub was damaged and leaking could not be used.

The big room and good service

The fact the we do not give a 1,0 for this hotel is because of 1.) the staff which was at least friendly and helpful. Especially this one guy bringing the luggage to the room being responsible for everything. 2.) that we got another room due to the below reasons

To be honest we felt something was wrong in this hotel when we came. A huge hotel site and we were the only guests with some others. All in all it somehow seemed that they are operating in „money saving mode“ Concerning rooms: -1st room bathroom was full of mold, which was covered with paint. In my opinion it is an absolute no go to assign a room in this condition especially when there are 10 guests. -Stinky air in the room. -Spider nets in all corners, behind the bed. -electricity went on/off due to a malfunction of the electricity card. -wet bed linen The new room was much better, although i want to mention that mold also here has its beginning as the rooms are simply wrong planned for this moist sri lankan air. Restaurant: Dinner starts at 7pm. Around 8pm it seemed everything on the buffet was ready and on its place. But the food served at first was cold. Also the restaurant area with white led light reminds me of some hospital cantina.

Elephant Lake is a lovely place to chill out. Great environment friendly staff & tasty food.

We had booked a deluxe room. But they didn't know about the reservation until I called on the day of check-in and then they arranged the regular standard room without us knowing, and didn't inform us until we asked about it. It is totally substandard, after about an hour of complaining about it again they gave me deluxe room. It was not a good experience, worst dinner ever, food was not tasty and had almost same food. I feel they are manager don't care about the locals.

The rooms were spacious, and it was all prepared and ready upon arrival , which was great . The pool is very spacious and the surrounding environment very relaxing. The food at the restaurant was good too.

The restaurant! The food was delicious, but the actual space of the restaurant didn't meet my expectations. Given how nicely the actual hotel space is designed and the nice rooms and the beautiful pool. The restaurant space is such a let down. It's so bland and basically just a room to dine in which takes away from the amazing hotel stay.

Staff seemed to be on island time... Many staff around but seemed hesitant to actually provide any service. We had to be very proactive on the matter.

restaurant was great, very accommodating. lots of wildlife on the estate - we saw lots of lizards! the wifi didn’t work at all though unless at reception. we had a warm welcome from the staff.

the pool wasn’t clean but we were visiting out of season. there was no wifi which was disappointing.

The hot water was very weak, hard time getting shower.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and we couldn't fault it. The facilities and service were impeccable and the staff were really helpful and friendly. It's perfectly situated between Sigiriya rock and the national parks. Just a small note but not a negative, if you are staying here, the staff aren't clear when it comes to prices so you do have to ask...everything is really reasonable though!
