Hotel Casa Santamaría

I've stayed here a couple of times. Great location and value for money. Great off-street parking. Nice rooms. Always clean. Helpful staff.

The Hotel Casa Santamaría is a nice cute affordable option to visit San Miguel de Allende. It has very spacious rooms with comfortable beds. It is a small hotel well located close to tipical small restaurants to eat. Only a 15min walk to the San Miguel Arcángel Church and town center. If you arrive by car you can park in the premises. We certainly will come back and stay here again. It is not fancy but very good value for a comfortable and convenient hotel.

This hotel is great. It is walking distance to the center and the big church. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Recomendo.

Exlente lugar y ubicación

Nice little hotel. The parking looks complicated, but they take care of moving the cars. The personnel are very polite and helpful. You can walk to restaurants and shops and even downtown (a long walk, but doable, fun, and safe).

Pictures do not reflect the rooms. It's a bit of fake news...The room was ok, bed had clean sheets, but some details missing such as full light bulbs in the lamps (they were broken), no shower curtain, ripped towels, and dirty floor between the dressor and wall. The staff were really friendly though with kind energy. They should lower the price a bit to actually reflect the rooms.

Everything was amazing !!! Having extra pillows would be nice .

The place was walkable but further to downton than i though.

Good place, near the center but five minutes away walking from the noise. Fair price, free parking was a plus for us. Very comfortable and charming. No breakfast but they give you courtesy coffee in the morning.

Good location

Big room, clean, have a fan,

Todo muy agradable, limpio y seguro. Ubicación muy fácil de accesar. Personal muy atento.

Great experience at Santamaria, where the staff went above and beyond when we had an injury in our part. Great, clean rooms, convenient parking, great location to lots, and still quiet. Fantastic staff and nice large rooms.

We really like the room and the staff service. The location is great .

The property is centrally located with great access to the centro. Free parking, wifi, and cable television with a large TV. The building is very secure, with 24 attendant. Clean rooms, tastefully appointed with classic decor. The price is unbeatable!

Safe place near to restaurants, gas station.

Great hotel at that price

Comfortable rooms, great location to walk to centro with the extra bonus every room has a off street car park available. Gate is locked of a nighttime so security is good.

Everything was really nice the only thing I didn’t like is you have to be quiet there is no laugh or noise you can make with out being loud through the whole floor

Family room was pretty big.

Clean, friendly staff, free coffee, parking on site, just what I needed. I definitely recommend it.

We loved this hotel! It's quiet and comfortable, and the double family room (1 main bedroom and a small bedroom off the main one) is perfect for a family. Great location, nice bedding and towels, plenty of touches that make the hotel feel charming and special. The only downside is that the hot water takes a long time to heat up and the shower pressure was low.

A wonderful place. It had not to be the expensive one to offer a great service, good facilities and location. Don't doubt to book your next vacations here.

nice place for price

Excelente locación y muy limpio

Very clean and polite staff. Location was not far from la plaza within walking distance. Really enjoyed our stay.

Room was extremely hot. Rented a family room and the heat inside the room made it impossible to sleep at night. The main bedroom has no WINDOWS. There is no AC in the room and you are only given one fan. I asked for another fan and was told they would bring it to our room and it never arrived. You can't leave the window in the bathroom open if you're using the bathroom, any person from across the other building would be able to see you. The shower room has a skylight if someone wanted to spy on you from the roof they could. San Miguel is a beautiful Town, this was my third visit and have always booked different hotels never had any issues but this was definitely a bad experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

I had to get out of my house in San Miguel for a night to let some newly painted areas cure. I also had an appointment near to the hotel location the next morning, so it was a good choice. It's in an area full of shops and restaurants, and if you want to walk to the Jardin at the center of town, it's only a 15 minute walk. The room was clean and quiet, the bed was big and comfortable, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend it again. My only letdown was there was no bottled water in the room, and I was supposed to get a complimentary small bottle of wine which didn't happen. Still, a great place to stay, and the price was right.

Super friendly and helpful staff , was clean ! They just need to have new coffee cups , I will stay again Gracias Gabriel por toda tu ayuda

Excellent hotel, very clean and friendly staff. Staff willing to go out off their way to meet your needs.

Front desk person not wearing a mask and also was locked out of the hotel property and stuck in the rain. They told a couple of stories as to why we were locked out. First said that they locked it and were watching on camera to let people in. Then said someone left and accidentally locked it. If I didn’t have my phone on me/phone service to call them I would have been stuck outside. This was at 6pm. No reason for any thing to be locked.

This is a small hotel that is about a twenty-minute walk from the historic center. The hotel was not for us. All rooms are next to a noisy check-in area or a second floor landing that has a tile floor so sounds travel everywhere. You can hear people talking and doors closing. There is no central heat of air conditioning so no fan to block out noise. The beds were hard. The scary part is that they still use old fashioned keys instead of key cards. This is unsafe as any guest can make a copy and came back later and rob or attack a guest. Also the front desk is not staffed at times and the door was left open. We checked out after one night.

The hotel was clean in good area close to the center of the city

Pretty good location in San Miguel, walkable to all the tourist spots. Staff was friendly but spoke very little English. The hotel had a very nice ambiance and my room was huge. I could see noise being an issue but there were few people staying when I was a guest. Even on the second floor you could clearly hear talking in the lobby or outside of the hotel in the street or patio. No pastries in the morning, but there was coffee. No heat so it can get a bit chilly, not a big problem for me.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a very good location, easy to get around, good eats an close to public transportation. We not only received fresh bottles of water everyday, we also got a small bottle of wine.

Nothing unique with it . The toilet does not run enough water. The shower does not really give out enough hot water. Poor ventilation in the bathroom. No blower. The staff is wonderful.

Stay at this beautiful Boutique hotel, welcoming and friendly staff, close to downtown 12- 15 minutes walking, quite area , front desk always available, the place is very clean ,away from noise areas beds are comfortable, housekeeper maintains the building clean and neat. Aside from your room there is a common living room area for all guests and back patio . Inside parking available and located in a safe area. Definitely recommend this hotel and definitely will choose to stay again in the future. Excellent customer service from front desk, houseman and housekeeping ladies.

Really nice BnB in San Miguel de Allende. Although not in the downtown area, it is about a 15 minute walk there. Rooms are really pretty and the bed was very comfortable.

Very nice, comfortable and clean, also there is parking in the hotel.Parking is hard to find i san miguel. The only sugestion i will give is to close the double mirror- window in the bathroom besides that perfect!

Hotel Santamaría was so comfortable and clean. Very hospitable and very nice. My family and I felt very safe. The beds were soo comfortable, I slept like a baby lol the only thing I would suggest if some rooms had microwaves and mini refrigerators😁👌 I wouldn’t want to leave the room lol

Simple hotel in an easy access area, right off the main road of San Miguel. The bed in the hotel was super comfortable too. Wasn't too fond of the water pressure, but that's pretty much everywhere in Mexico. Got a free bottle of wine so it makes things better :-)

I checked in last Monday for a 4 night stay in room 103 on the ground floor in the reception area. The staff were pleasant and spoke a bit of English. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable, and it had a nice bathroom. The hot water took a couple of minutes to come through the tap. However, the noise outside my room from the reception area was unbearable, constant chatting amongst the staff made it impossible for me to relax in my room. Even with earplugs in, I could hear it. I could hear other guests clearing their throats in the morning as well. In the end I was counting down the hours so that I could leave. If you decide to stay here, ask for an upstairs room away from the reception area. Bear in mind that it's about a 20 minute brisk walk to the Plaza Principal, where the Cathedral is. If you have a bit of cash to splash then stay around the Plaza Principal area, as I can't recommend this place.

Great location within an easy walk of the historic town centre. However the shower didn't really work (managed to get a dribble of luke-warm water at best) and the beds were hard.

Walking distance to city center, excellent service.

The beds are so comfortable definitely slept like a baby. Also location is good not too far from the main attractions.

The place is cozy and nice, staff super nice, the bedroom is huge and also the bathroom. Walkable to the downtown, close to restaurants and points of interest. Super highly recommend, they offer coffee and pastries in the morning also info about events and touristic places

Beautiful setting to please the eye, inside and out. The flowers outside to wake up to; flowers with humming birds. The furniture was immaculate.

Great location. Great staff. But no ac. Close to everything..... walking distance.

Small hotel; adequate facilities; staff limited in English; staff accommodating/helpfull; away from hub bub of the street; bus line close; street cafes close; wish we had a clock and coffee maker in room; TV reception could be better.

Staff invited us to join their annual Christmas celebration; what wonderful people who are proud of the place they work at. Extremely comfortable beds and super clean. Quiet area close to historical core. GREAT STAY.

Clean and comfortable Friendly helpful staff Comfortable bed

Basic hotel - needs maintenance, but has good location close to city center.

Fifteen minute walk from city center. Room was clean, beds were ok. Parking is convenient.

not as shown in the pictures; more costlier than it should

The hotel is located a half block away from the bus stop and 24/7 taxi availability although the city is very walkable. A dozen or more restaurants within 2 blocks. 2 oxxo stores (7/11) and a lavanderia where they will wash, dry and fold your clothes for $3 with next day service. Hotel staff was friendly, rooms were spotless and as noted bed was firm but comfortable. Maid service was unobtrusive and efficient with attention to detail including providing bottled water each day. I find that leaving a 50 peso ($2.50) tip each morning expresses thanks and insures a super clean room. I don't understand the negative reviews, I think some may have forgotten they are in Mexico not New York City. There are no valets or bellhops, etc. but to me that is a plus. Reliable internet and cable TV with both Spanish and English programming. The only thing the hotel/room was missing was either a small room refrigerator or availability of ice and an ice bucket. That is the only reason I didn't give five stars and that is an easy problem to solve with close access to restaurants and stores.

Great little cheap hotel, the room was very comfortable and the hotel is 10 mins walking distance to the center of San miguel.

Great place to stay, 10 min walking from the plaza

Our 1st time at Hotel Casa Santamaria. We are in SMA Alot and usually stay elsewhere. We tried HCS and were VERY happy. They accomodated every need. Even offered to change my tire that was low in the morning. Nice guests who speak enough English to help in any way. We have a new home away from home in SMA. Thanks !

people are nice but dont expect much more tan a simple room

The Staff is very friendly and the hotel was located close to the main attractions in the City.

Intimate hotel with a kind staff. Rooms are comfortable and coffee is available to the guest esvery day.

There was no outdoor patio area and the inside social area was next to my room and all noise was heard. Though the staff was very accommodating, they did not know that a shuttle service was available from the city to the airport, and the "cheapest" trip they could find me, cost me $65. Once at the airport, I was speaking with a couple who arrived in a shuttle service and it only costs $25, with pick up at your door. It is important for all hotels to be informed about the best-cheapest services for their guests.

I did not want this to be all negative so I will say what was nice about the hotel first. It was quiet, not crowded at all. In the mornings the staff puts out coffee and pastries for guests. There is a nice courtyard which my kids kicked a soccer ball around in. Outside of the rooms there are living room type areas. Easy to sit back, relax and not feel like your are only staying in a hotel room. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Good location and easy walk to main town square where the church is located. Okay here are the disappointing factors. I had reserved two of their Adjoining larger family rooms. Upon arrival found out the rooms are located on separate floors. I spoke with the on-duty person who was a young man. After much back and forth, he told me these are the only two large rooms they have. They DO NOT have Adjoining rooms at all on any floor. I explained this was not going to work for us as we had young children and I did not want them alone on a floor by themselves. I asked for one room to be cancelled and we would make one room work for our family. Was then told we could not cancel our room or receive a refund and also that we would be charged more for having additional people in one room rather than two. The rooms: Large and can accommodate 6 easily with 3 Queen beds, No A/C, no cross breeze due to hotel construction, only views are of the inner building space which was covered with construction equipment and broken toys. No amenities in the rooms other that a hair dryer. The TV was on antenna and reception was terrible. They give you a plug in floor fan to help the air circulation. Beds were very hard. Doors and walls very thin and you could actually hear the floor fan inside of the room from the outside. Worst Part: Cleaning person stole my phone charger. I had it plugged into the same outlet as one of the fans. I went to get it and it was gone. Mysteriously the fan was unplugged too. This all occurred after the cleaning lady was in the room. I spoke to the manager now a woman and she went and asked the cleaning lady who was in the next guest room. Of course she did not admit it and the manager took her word for it. This happened on the last day we were at the hotel. With so many other hotels in the area, I would keep away from this one to avoid headaches and hassle.

I will only give it a lower rating becasue the room given was right next to the reception desk it was kinda awkward

Friendly, clean, good location

The hotel is really small and cute which I loved because the staff give you more attention. The security was really nice to us the day we were leaving he cleaned our car from the outside which wasn’t necessary but was a nice gesture. They also provides us with some sweet bread and coffee in the morning. The rooms are nice and clean they have a vintage touch. This place makes you feel like home.

Hotel from the outside looks very nice and quaint. When we arrived the hotel was under construction. The woman that checked us in was nice and friendly she showed us our room and it was a complete disappointment. The room was completely filthy with dust from the construction going on. The bathroom was flooded. The shower and shower curtain had mold. When we further inspect the bed the duvet cover was dirty. The cover had stains and hair on it. The cover was not changed from last guest or guests that stayed there. We were extremely upset that we requested to have our room changed. She gave us another room with 2 beds. The room was less dusty but, the beds were the same. Dirty duvet covers ( white covers by the way) with stains and hair. Bathroom was the same, moldy. Still upset with the conditions of the rooms we asked to see another room. The woman showed us another room. That room was also dusty but the bathroom had to mold. Duvet was also dirty. We settled for that room because it was late. Allende, had celebrations going on the weekend we went, knowing that, we knew we wouldn’t find accommodations anywhere else. Thankfully it was only for one nigh. Would not stay here again. Absolutely do not recommend this place.

Need a beautiful hotel in San Miguel de Allende, well then this is the right one. Clean, perfect location, big room, extremely comfy bed and extraordinary service. I love it!!!

very comfortable rooms safe mini hotel close to town

Situated in a quiet part of SMA....this was a gem of a hotel. There is nothing bad to say - we loved it.

The hotel is great. Very spacious. The room confortable. Loved the big garage. The location is not as far as it seems.

I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed the complementary coffee and rolls every morning. The owner is on hand and very nice. On a quiet street and near a lot of good restaurants.

It is close to town center, nice rooms, large showers and a great price. A little construction close , but a great stay!

we had a great stay room was spacious and comfortable very clean beds were a bit on the firm side but still had agood night sleep no ac but was not needed location is good not on the historic center but it was 15mts walking distance or taxi 50 pesos or bout 3dlls i think the price for the 2 nights was in my opinion great bout 100dlss will stay there again without a doubt

Great place SAN Miguel De Allende great room close to Centro 15 min walk

Clean Clean Clean! Not a bug in site. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and proactive. It is a very old city, but it is also quite safe. When we arrived, we felt as though we may have been in a rough area, but it turned out to be very nice. Safe as can be. Coffee and Mexican Pastry in the morning was good. Just enough for a morning snack to get you started. We preferred it that way. There is a lot of great and reasonably priced food to try in SMA. We saved our appetites for the good stuff in all its variety. There are about ten restaurants and cafes with two blocks of the Hotel. Very inexpensive and excellent. We did not have even a mediocre meal in SMA. Address is a mile or so from Centro, but still in an area dotted by restaurants, laundry, shops and just off the road from a bus that will take you to Centro, or a cab. Bathroom was always refreshed with towels, typical toiletries. Though the room was humble, it was charming anyway. There was clearly a sense of style in how the room was outfitted. Mexican shabby chic if you will. Not cluttered or old. Mattress was a little hard for me, but my girlfriend loved it. We both slept fine. Weather is never hot or cold here so no AC or Heat, but for chilly nights, there was adequate warm bedding. We got a great deal on Expedia with flight. This is an inexpensive Hotel and we were beyond satisfied with the experience. We will return to this beautiful City and this Hotel will suit us perfectly.

A very ideal location to our stay. Staff was friend and excellent service.
