The property is clean and maintained. The breakfast is good. If you are a smoker get ready for a walk to be able to smoke.

BAD Parking. The Hotel shares its parking with many small businesses. End result there is almost no parking available when you check in to this hote..I will choose another hotel based on this lack of parking

The staff were fantastic, but the noise level was too much. Forget about sleeping in, loud talking everywhere starts at 6 AM. one night I had to call the front desk to complain about loud talking and laughing at 11 PM just outside my bedroom window. I was also charged when I requested an extra sheet, because the comforter was too hot. I've never been charged at other hotels for extra pillows, blankets, sheets, etc.

The main down side was the restaurant was being renovated

I love yhe Watergate Hotel from friendly & accommodating staff to clean room and aircon filter was clean because i did not have sinus allergies. Overall it's a great place to stay myself or with family. I will definitely come back again when im in the Philippines 🇵🇭

This place is okay. A bit noisy since our room was around the swimming pool. It needs more boarding the night we were there had a party and they were noisy until I fell asleep. I also requested an additional sheet to use as blankets. But they said it’s an additional charge. We booked 2 rooms. One with 2 twins and the other with Queen bed they called matrimonial. The bed were set with fitted sheet, 2 pillows and a comforter. I ask for a flat sheet since even with AC the temperature inside the room is a humid and a bit warm. Comfort is the main reason I rated this 3 stars.

Probably the nicest place in Butuan. Highly recommend staying here if you visit Butuan. Closest to American comfort you will find. They took very good care of us!

My wife and I like the free breakfast and the cleanliness of the hotel. We also like the friendly employees. We enjoy the private parking lot where the taxis can pick us up and drop us off at the front door. One of the things needing improvement is the attention to service in the restaurant.

Great hotel. Breakfast was great. Only complaint is no elevator even though its only two levels.

Nice little hotel. The room was small but nice and clean. The AC dripped a little and the water heater had to be reset. No big deal and the staff responds very fast. We ordered room service and it was very good. Convenient for us and it was easy to park and check-in.

It is immaculate, no carpets, and the assigned staff answers immediately to the call and room service.

Had issues with reliable hot water supply and the tiling work in the shower ensured that water didn't drain away.

There was a problem with hot water in the shower, it comes and goes or else you have to turn off the shower for a few minutes then on again to have hot water. Soo aggravating! Noise in the hallway at 1:30 am which I could not sleep, people were talking loudly. Very inconsiderate. They charged me 150 pesos per handtowel, it did not come with the room rate except the towels. I’m not going to stay in that hotel anymore!

I just have to send kodus to their security guard! He does a fine job and offers assistance! I love the location, the convenience and the amenities- will come back for future stay

Try call the hotel for 2 days and no one at the front desk picked up.even expedia assistant try calling them to let them know that I would be arriving at their hotel a day late because of a typhoon. But no one pick up the phone at the front desk for me or Expedia assistant. This is definitely a 3 star hotel the breakfast is bad out of everything

I always have a nice comfortable stay here when I travel to Butuan. Comfortable bed the food is fantastic. Staff is respectful and attentive. Restaurant staff is excellent. My only choice of hotels when I’m in town.

Watergate is a lovely modern hotel which provides a great environment for relaxing. The restaurant (Lime & Zest) is amazing, serving a great selection of meal options.

It can be noisy because of so much parties going on in their function rooms.

The pool is wonderful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant offers great meal options. It is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

I love the environment is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. What i don't like was the drinking water only limit to 3 bottles per day which is a bit hard for me and my kid because he need to have his milk hot and also making hot his food which require quite amount of water

Nice ambience and clean facilities. The breakfast had lots of choices. And the pool was refreshing and clean. The beds were really comfy. Everything was really organised.

First of all, the staff, including front desk, housekeeping, and security personnel, were all great. However, the room was small, the bed was not comfortable, and if you’re a smoker, the designated smoking area is literally a 4 minute walk from your room, partially down an outside street; very questionable from the standpoint of both safety and convenience. The restaurant is limited in quality and options. There are better options in town.

I had a cozy & comfortable stay at Watergate Hotel, room was very clean & well maintained. Facilities were new, I love the breakfast offered it was generous, everyday the menu is diff. which I liked so much. The crews were so friendly & easy to reach. They communicate well. I would definitely come back here again with my husband. I did not regret I booked this hotel, satisfied customer here from New York keep up the good work. The place is a gem.

Just Outside Our Window...People Kept and Were Sweeping With Brooms...The Water From Rain Into the Drain...This Went On For Hrs Both Days...Had to Keep The Curtains Closed !!!

Our room was infested with ants all over. We also had to pay extra to get an extra towel for the room.

Internet very slow and Limited and when I brought my breakfast in the room because I’m doing business online every crew is looking at me like I’m stealing the food that I paid. A lot of mosquitoes!

I liked the rooms it’s competitive to international rooms. The service of good too. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Will surely comeback.

No hot water? I was surprised to find out there was not hot/warm water in the evening or in the morning in our room... also, and No elevator. Lime Zest Restaurant was VERY GOOD!!! Very large menu including foreign items that were quite good. Wifi was iffy and weak..

Decent hotel for Butuan

Decent location, nice rooms, and nice front desk staff. My issue is I left my earbuds behind and they somehow could not find them. I know the buds were in the room so someone is enjoying their new earbuds. Very annoyed with this.

The front desk staff needs to improve her customer relations. She is very cold and does not even smile. When I asked for a spare room key since she only gave me one. Her reply was: "we don't have spare key as of the moment." Unbelievable!

Looking old Stink towel,and no wash cloth. Called the front desk requested for wash cloth and extra towel, receptionist told me they wpuld charge me 100php fpr the towel ever night and they dont have wasch cloth.Wifi was poor i couldnt cinnect to thewifi the whole niggt i stayed there. Swimming pool no towel we had to bring the towel drom the room and took it back to the room.

Poor internet connection every day of my stay. I was not able to conduct my communications online.

Really an outstanding hotel. Very attentive staff- immediate response to any request. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent restaurant- we ordered room service almost every one of our 12 day stay. And it's in a nice part of Butuan. couldn't find a better location. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

For starters I wrote them an email to talk about an early check in couple days before my arrival. No response at all. I come in and get hit with a “deposit” when I had already paid the bill and there was ZERO mentions of a deposit. The wifi of the hotel was constantly down for the 4 days and 5 nights I stayed. Not worth it at all.

It was amazing stay. Great front desk, great breakfast buffet. The room was clean and has a safe, sanitizing spray, complimentary big bottled water. Overall great experience!

Our room was near the pool and the room was not noise proof. It was noisy until 12 midnight, I can hear people talking and singing

Neat, nice rooms. Breakfast is ok. Fruits very limited though. Once food displayed is consumed, expect not to be replenished especially the fruits. Must book early as it is always fully booked.

The first time I saw it, I was surprised that it was located near the Diagnostics Center. Found out afterwards the Square was the Hotel's own Center! It was cool, it made everything convenient for the guests with the necessary shops beside it. The staff were very accommodating & the whole place was excellently clean. We had a wonderful stay.

Pros: This the best and newest hotel in Butuan City. Walking distance to nearby malls. There's laundry service place outside right of entrance about a block or so away next to KiangKing restaurant. The free breakfast buffet is good and the hotel restaurant is known for good food with decent prices and always packed even with locals. Metrobank atm,coffee places,bakery,store directly in front hotel entrance. Cons: The hot water temperature in shower is highly inconsistent and extremely hot! The wifi connection is out of service daily and need remind hotel staff about it. If using cellphone..signal is off and on even with local sim cards. I purchased t-mobile international 10 day service and still unable to get consistant cellphone signal and I have Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. There is no grab service in this area and cab drivers will take advantage if you coming/going to airport.

This property is absolutely amazing. The staff is top notch and are super friendly. The property is extremely clean and the food (breakfast) out of this world. Exactly what you would expect from a 5 star quality hotel. I will definitely be staying here every time I’m in Butuan. Again, this hotel is hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed in while traveling the Philippines.

I will NEVER BOOK AGAIN. I have booked this hotel since I heard wonderful things about it. Unfortunately have not experienced those. 1. Welcome was not welcoming at all - took a long time to check in and only gave us one keycard since “fullybooked” though there were 2 of us who checked in. When asked the next day for another keycard, not at all helpful 2. Our room was near there restaurant and it was VERY NOISY up until midnight. Their restaurant was closed but there were still people? Not sure what was happening. Tbh but You can hear the noise in the room and me and hubby did not get any restful sleep. The staff have not done anything about this as well. 3. No adequate parking area for check in guests. They have several occassions held in the hotel which means not a lot of parking spaces, the guard was very helpful but my husband needed to get up at 11pm,12mn and 6am to check if there were any vacant parking spaces in the vicinity and move our car. Very inconvenient! 4. Breakfast was actually pretty okay but set up was in the hallway outside their resto and no staff to check it. There were flies flying around and it has affected my appetite. I could not say budget friendly at all. There are better hotels with lesser price. Sadly, We did not enjoy our stay.

Property ruined the holiday. I booked this room for the mothers birthday and daughter. Arrived 1:30 PM was told 2 PM for check in at 2 PM said room was not available. Had to wait until 4:30 PM before the room was ready! Ruined the afternoon. Next day they called the room to say check out time 11:30. We checked out 1130 and then I looked at the policy and the checkout time is 12. When I ask the front desk about this she said check out 1130 but you can extend until 12. She lied. 12 is check out extend would be afterwards. So we got cheated on check-in by 2 1/2 hours and another 1/2hour check out. I expressed my displeasure several times with the front desk who said they would inform the manager. Nothing happened. Finally after checking out later the front desk girl came to my second room that was booked. Gave me apology with a generic letter with no signature from any manager and a supposed gift. Four cheap facemasks and four packets of sanitizer! Just proved to me that the manager doesn’t care about customers which is a shame because the facility has some good things going. Customers be aware don’t let them cheat you out of your time. Check out time is 12 but the front desk is trained to tell you otherwise to try to get you to leave early. Even after mentioning about discussing this with a manager never did one ever come to apologize for ruining the birthday of the mother and family time. Because of this I cannot recommend this hotel. They did nothing for us

Rooms with Pool side view…amazing!

Location is the best asset. Very noisy in the early morning, 7 AM. No control on kids running around. Our room was full with mosquitos..
