Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Pros: the staff is lovely; the bakery is delicious, & the worker in the adex store next door is great/friendly, too. Of course, access to the incredible mega onsen across the street is the key selling point.
Cons: an automatic overhead light that turns on whenever you get up at night (that can’t be adjusted); the room & pillows smelled musty/mildewy (beyond the natural water smell that permeates the town), and the inn’s onsen in the basement is best avoided. The walls are mildewed & the water was scalding hot, not a fun discovery (I realize onsens are supposed to be hot. This bath had me fearing that my toenails were going to boil off, it was crazy, I felt like a lobster). The note on the desk in the room warning of insects did not instill relaxation.

There is a not very good smell in the elevator and the corridors, the hotel's onsen seems not very clean and not inviting. Could not open the windows.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026We loved that we could use the onsen across the road. The beds were comfy and having the cafe downstairs was a bonus. It was also a short walk to Hell Valley and hiking areas. Lovely little town to stay in with some great eating places.
The 3pm check-in. It used to be 2pm but there was absolutely no leeway on getting into the room sooner than 3pm on the dot

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Fantastic stay. Wonderful to use the Grand onsen and swimming pool across the road. We also ate a delicious ramen in their ramen restaurant. Easy walk to the Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley, the walkways continue to Oyunuma pond, where the deer were wandering near the hot springs! The hotel gives you yukata and sandals to wear to the onsen. The hotel is right next to the Kanketsusen (geyser). So there is a sugar sulfur smell in the hotel understandably. The bakery had delicious sweet and savory pastries but note this is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Walking distance from the hotel there are small supermarket and a desert place. And plenty of restaurants in walking distance. The pizza place is delicious, great wine, and also serves salads and fried chicken.
The room was a little damp. There was a dehumidifier in there but our clothes still seemed to get damp. I guess that was just the weather and we aren't so used to it. No problem really.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026מלון נחמד מאוד. לא הכי מפואר בעולם אבל נקי, מסודר, נוח, מפנק, במיקום טוב מאוד. תמורה מעולה למחיר. במלון יש בית קפה מאפיה מעולה וכייפי. והכי כיף - כניסה חינם ללא הגבלה למלון המפואר מאוד שמעבר לכביש, שבו יש אונסן מטורף! ענק, המון בריכות מסוגים שונים, ממש מעולה.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026The staff were friendly. Check-in & check-out process was very smooth. Hotel guests have complete access to Takimoto onsen with in&out privileges. It's a short, convenient walk across the street. Hotel also provides yukata and sandals to wear to Takimoto. It's a great way to experience the onsen without the ryokan price tag. We were very happy with our stay here.

It seemed like the TV had broken hdmi ports, so we couldn't use our fire TV sticks. No biggy though. Parking is alright I guess, the whole town is pretty cramped, I'd just love a heads up about the parking situation.

Das die Zimmertür aus Blech war, daher sehr laut beim schließen war und nicht bis zum Boden reichte. Es waren 2cm Spalt.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026整体都很好。离巴士车站很近，在温泉街的起点，也是地狱谷的门口。楼下咖啡面包店很适合坐着发呆。虽然自助机入住退房，但是cafe的员工都很热心来帮忙。温泉泡对面的龙本。
自家地下层也有硫磺温泉，但是可能基本没人泡，所以洗澡的笼头调节不是很好

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Das Hotel ist ideal gelegen, um Jigokudani zu erkunden und im Wald wandern zu gehen. Durch die Kooperation mit dem Dai-ichi Takimotokan darf man sogar deren Onsen nutzen, eine Institution in Japan und definitiv ein großartiges Erlebnis. Die Zimmer sind vergleichsweise geräumig. Sogar das Bad hat eine ziemlich große Dusche - nicht die sonst üblichen Plastik-Bäder wie in anderen Hotels. Zum Frühstück bekommt man im Café unten frische Backwaren und heiße Getränke. Alles in allem ein besonders schöner Aufenthalt!
Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.

L’onsen prive de l’établissement était ferme pour travaux mais la carte de la chambre permettait d’accéder à ceux de l’hôtel d’en face sans avoir besoin de payer de supplément

Heel fijn dat er een klein restaurantje is voor ontbijt/lunch/ gewoon wat drinken. De broodjes, gebakjes en koeken zijn van goede kwaliteit. De kamer was ruim, comfortabel en schoon. Geweldig dat je van de onsen van het hotel aan de overkant gebruik mag maken. Het hotel ligt centraal. De vallei op loopafstand. Winkelstraat om de hoek met leuke winkeltjes, restaurantjes en conbini.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026I'm so glad that I stayed at the Adex Inn. The hotel and the room itself were great. In particular, the bathroom was bigger and more comfortable than any other hotel that I stayed at during my Japan trip. Most significantly, staying at the Adex Inn gives you full access to the incredible onsen complex at the larger hotel (Takimotokan) across the street!
This isn't really related to the hotel, but be aware that the nearby restaurants close surprisingly early on weeknights, so get dinner early or you might be eating dinner at the nearby convenience store.

The room is not so big but there's sufficient space for us. Adex inn does not have a dedicated carpark and it can be slightly inconvenient when loading or unloading luggage.

For some reason the twin room was a liitle bit cheaper than the single room, so I got to book a twin room for myself. They also provide yukata and geitas that you can enjoy wearing in the town and to the onsens. I only went to the Takimotokan onsen, which you can go to for free when booking adex inn. The onsen was really good, there were not many people in the evening and in the morning. adex inn is close to the Jigokudani Valley, where you can enjoy a couple walking trails.
The shared microwave on the 3rd floor was dirty.

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026I was surprised that I received access to the takimotokan onsen, and that the onsen at the inn was tattoo friendly! I have a LOT of tattoos so I am usually not welcomed to onsens. It made me very happy. The staff was helpful, kind, and had great humor. They were quick to assist with any questions or issues.
The bakery had delicious items, but I was a little disappointed that some baked goods came out later in the day so I was not able to try the recommended items on the board. I think if the morning selection had a little bit of everything instead of 5-6 pastries to choose from that would be perfect

Reviewed Jun 13, 2026The hotel was across the street from the Grand Hotel, to which we had free access to their Grand Spa as an adex Inn guest. Your magnetic room key gave you access. The bakery in the hotel and the reception area was a great meeting place. English instruction were clear and easy to undestand.
Not the hotel, but many shops and restaurants close early. Check ahead and if during the busy season, there may be long lines.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Mooi gerenoveerd en fijn café beneden. De onsen aan de overkant was echt gigantisch en mocht je gebruik van maken. Omdat het hotel zo groot is aan de overkant is het wel even lopen.
De kamers zijn gerenoveerd maar het uitzicht was op de lagere verdiepingen wel erg matig

Reviewed May 24, 2026Great location, 2 minutes from the bus stop. Basic, but spotless and very comfortable. Staff were friendly. The best thing is the free use of the onsen in the main hotel on the other side of the road which is fabulous.
Expensive, but so are all rooms in the town it seems.
