The air in my room did not cool for about 6-7 hours and I spent most of the night sweating. I called the front desk to let them know bc not only was it my room, but BOTH of the rooms I booked were hot! The guy at the front desk brought us up two dusty and loud box fans. My fan didn’t blow cool air and it was very loud, so I ended up turning it off and sweating. Also, there were some guests that were staying there and their children kept running and screaming. The guy that was with them kept revvjng his trick engine all night. This went on for hours

Prima hotel voor een paar nachten Galveston, locatie is goed, gratis parkeren, ontbijt is ok. Aan het strand, top, kamer is prima. Goede prijs/kwaliteit verhoudig.

The floors were filthy. There was pubic hair in the shower. Need I say more

Closeness to the beach was invaluable. The pool was well maintained and never overcrowded. Rooms were excellent size. Staff very attentive.

the room is very spacious and comfortable. the private balcony is also very nice overlooking the beach. I love that you can walk right across the street to the beach. the rooms were also quiet. the staff was very nice and accommodating. I've been coming to Galveston for the past 5 years and stayed at the BW every time but once stayed at another name brand hotel but was very disappointed. there are many hotel options to choose from but I will always recommend the BW for value, comfort, location, views and service. i also love the spa/jacuzzi in the pool area.

I think the pool area needs a serious upgrade. I've stayed here the past 4 year visits out of 5 and the pool furniture is the same, the pergola could use a refresher. the pool area overall could use an update for a more modern beach vibe. better lounge chairs, tables, ect. I also think the check in and out hours are not a good value for a 1 night stay. my stay was 4 nights. However, if I only stayed a night with check-in at 4pm and check out at 11 pm, thats not even 24 hours, which is not a good value.

There should be a disclaimer that if you have a first floor room there will not be a beach view from balcony. There was mold on our rooms ceiling. Sand still in the floor. Trash between the bed and nightstand.

Hotel was very clean, and although the hotel had issues as all hotels do the staff was very attentive in addressing the problems we had to our satisfaction. The hotel was undergoing some updates and had an elevator that was out of service, but again these are things that have to happen and can happen from time to time. I will use this hotel again. Its not about the problems, its about how you resolve those problems. Everyone on staff was amazing. Breakfast was great too!

There was a couple of issues with our room the first night. We made the front desk clerk aware and she quickly made some calls and got right back to us with a solution that was very well received.

I used Booking.com as I always do and they totally screwed up my reservation...thank goodness Best Western met the originL cost. Where as Booking wanted to send me to another location...this is the only bad experience I have had to deal with Booking.Com...so I am willing to try them again...I usually book a room 2 to 4 times a year using them...and have never had such a bad experience. It put a damper on my whole get a way...!

The balcony furniture, concrete balcony floors and rails need upgrades. Too much rust!!! Concrete balcony floor was many colors of poured fixing concrete. The living room floor has many deep scratches. I moved the chais position and found unswept trash. The bathtub had rust next to the water spout. I was in room 207, not the best location.

Room was large and great oceanside veiw. Did well correcting problems Tropical Storm Andrew caused.

Tropical storm Andrew blew lobby door off our first day which they fixed the first day, but the room floor was wet and dirty due to the storm which was not fault of hotel. Also first night they had problems with generator working but was good after that.

I was initially worried about not having a coffee pot in my room, but the 24/7 coffee machine in the lobby was great. The balcony gave a perfect view of the beach. And the room was nice and large.

The hot tub broke our 2nd night there, but it was still an overall great stay.

The walking distance to the beach was great. The beds were comfortable and my kids loved the view of the beach out our balcony.

What I didn't like AT ALL WAS THE BREAKFAST TIMES FROM 6AM-9AM. I took my 7yo Granddaughter and her 8yo best friend and we didn't get to eat breakfast one single day. After spending our days at the beach and nights at swimming pool, we didn't get to bed until 1030. They both slept until 930 all 4 mornings. There is no way that I was going to wake them up for breakfast. I talked to several parents there, and they said the same thing. Most, not all of vacationers sleep in a bit when then are on vacation. I think they could at least serve breakfast from 7am-10am. Or possibly from 8am-11am. I paid extra money at this hotel for the free breakfast and never once got to enjoy it. Breakfast times should be changed for people on vacation.

The mattress was uncomfortable and sounded as though there were some broken springs when getting off of the bed, primarily on the left side (facing the bed). The sheets were stiff and the pillows seemed firm. Everything else was great, just did not sleep well.

The location was fantastic! The bed was really comfortable and the room very spacious . Breakfast was great, plenty of options. Loved that every room had a balcony.

It took a full 24 hours for our room to feel cool, but we were never uncomfortable. There was sometimes an odd smell in the lobby and parking lot, and the bathroom door opened inward and was awkward to get into.
