Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Car park is tight. Warm welcome. Room was in extension so quite a way from reception but it was quiet. Standards you expect from Travelodge. On return after our night out we saw a poster for pizza. We were greeted by a young lady who was very helpful and cheerful. We ordered pizza and whilst waiting we were looking at the breakfast menu. The young lady was telling us about the breakfast and that it was a proper hot buffet, all you can eat. We decided to go for it. After a good night sleep we enjoyed our breakfast. On checking out we told the manager that he should never let the young lady leave and he advised us her name was Demi, so thank you Demi x
Excellent location close to the sites and experiences of the city centre. A very welcoming and friendly staff team, particularly Olivia on reception, made our stay
A bit wary about staying in Travelodge as have stayed in a couple of ropey ones -mainly down south. Would normally go for Premier inn but the positive reviews and cheap price was too hard to resist. The hotel itself was clean and easily accessible and with the added bonus of an on-site car park in the town centre - 10 minute walk to all amenities. The room was clean and comfortable albeit a bit of a trek from reception. The only down point was that I mistakenly booked the wrong day but quickly amended it to the day before but was charged £12,50 for this privilege but otherwise would recommend this hotel
came to newcastle for night out in town with friends amazing city stayed at travelodge amazing hotel nice and clean great food and drinks staff are amazing massive shout out to night staff on firday night will defo be back please thank the staff on friday night
We stayed over the weekend as part of a cheerleading group thank you to all the staff for looking after us I'm impressed with the security protocols they have in place for guests and to the older guy on bar thanks for serving us all with our food and drink orders.
Stayed with mates for a stag weekend the pizza deal late at night is great and bar open till the late hours breakfast in morning was the perfect cure for the night before drinks in town thanks to demi for looking after us
While I appreciate that not all guests are dog owners, if a hotel advertises itself as pet friendly, it should consider the practical needs that come with that. We were placed in one of the rooms furthest from the entrance, which made things quite difficult, especially as dogs need easy access outside for comfort breaks, particularly first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This made our stay unnecessarily uncomfortable. Additionally, staffing levels appeared to be very low. At times, there seemed to be only one staff member covering multiple roles, checking guests in, serving, and clearing tables in the restaurant. As a result, food and drink orders were delayed or missed entirely and had to be chased. The limited capacity also impacted cleanliness in the dining area. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, particularly given the hotel’s pet friendly positioning.
My sister and I found the whole stay very relaxing, the bar in the evening was quiet to have a coffee after returning from the city centre. The room was clean, the beds comfy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Natalie who allowed us to keep our luggage in the reception until we were ready to go for our train home. Much appreciated since we had shopping to do!
I stayed in Newcastle Central Travelodge for 1 night last weekend and it was the most unpleasant stay that I’ve ever experienced. I can safely say that I won’t be back! On arrival we were checked in by Zoe, who I must say is an asset to Travelodge. She was Friendly, Helpful and Professional. We were assigned to room number 076 (3rd Floor). When we entered the room it was very clear that this room had NOT been cleaned. The Bed wasn’t made properly, there was dust literally everywhere, the Carpet had massive stains all over it and there was Faeces down the Toilet. Absolutely vile! The Toilet Seat was also covered in stains and the Toilet Bowl was thick with Mould. Photographs attached. I returned to Reception, I was absolutely mortified! Again we spoke with Zoe, who was extremely apologetic and immediately assigned us another room. Room 091 (3rd Floor). On entering Room 091 (3rd Floor), this room was visibly cleaner, until we pulled back the Bedding, to reveal a Brown Stain which looked like Faeces on the Bed Sheet. By this point we were beyond mortified. I reminded myself that I had paid £99.99 for this 1 night stay and was not willing to lie in a bed that was in this condition. I called Reception from the Room and explained the situation. I confirmed that this room was cleaner (except for the Sheet) and asked if it would be possible for someone to attend the room to change the Bed Sheet. I was advised by the Male Staff Member at Reception that “it would be easier to change rooms”. So, for a second time, we returned to Reception. The 3rd Room that we were assigned was Room 200 (Ground Floor). This Room was clean and spacious. However, we did notice that the Window was open and there was an extremely loud noise like a Fan/Generator. We tried closing the Window, but the noise was still extremely loud/disturbing. We had hoped that this would quieten down in the Evening, however this was not the case, it went on all night. There was also a loud thudding/banging noise throughout our stay. We went out in the Evening and returned to the Hotel around 11pm and used our Keycard to enter. We were greeted by a Male Security Guard who asked the Name on the Booking and the Room Number. We confirmed the details. I feel this is a really good safety precaution, which I think should be done across all Travelodge Hotels. Between the hours of 1:30am-6am we were kept awake by groups of Intoxicated persons aged around 18-20 years old. I had hoped that with us being on the Ground Floor, there being Security and Cameras throughout the building that Security would have attended to ask these persons to return to their Rooms, but this wasn’t the case. When we got up to get ready in the morning there was a horrendous smell of Sewage in the Bathroom. This definitely needs investigation, as there are clear underlying problems. All in all, I am highly disappointed with this experience. We returned home absolutely exhausted. We had a long Car journey to get to the Hotel and were unable to rest/enjoy our stay and then had to do another long journey home. I have been a loyal Customer of Travelodge for over 15 years and never had any issues like this before. It’s certainly not the normal Travelodge standard and most definitely not worth £99.99. I have raised the issues with “Customer Services”, but have not received a reasonable resolution.
A very warm welcome from Zoe and Winnie who sorted out my disabled parking and my room allocation due to a mix up.. Thank you for making me feel welcome to Newcastle.
Quite central for us and just a stone's throw from the Glasshouse, across the Blinking Eye bridge. Also just a 15 min walk from the Biscuit Factory gallery and cafe. Parking on site, too. We were late getting there so ate on the restaurant there. Very good value for money and we will certainly use it again. The stone baked pizzas were very good, surpassing our expectations. The rooms are always clean, sufficient for somewhere to kip after a night out.
lovely stay staff fantastic sorting the parking app for me food nice and hot thanks to winni and macolm for all you lr help
Had a great experience as Will helped to arrange our booking quickly and conveniently :)
Home from home after unfortunate gas meter blow up!! ... staff all very helpful& friendly - Reception Housekeeping, Management, thank you!!
The Travelodge is in a good location a couple of mins from the quayside and has a carpark (chargeable) underneath. Room was ok, fairly quiet. It was a little bit dated but functional and ok for one night. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok but limited if you need GF. I thought it was quite expensive for a one night stay but I guess you are paying for the location.
Amazing location! So close to all the best views, bars & restaurant. Karli on reception is a credit to the company, so friendly, polite and more than happy to go out of her way for your needs! I’ll be back
All good but room smelt of cigarette smoke, not the normal standard for Travelodge. Everything else was good quality and good value.
Have never seen travelodge decorated so nicely and the staff be so friendly! The young boy at the bar Will was really funny and friendly he bought my husband a nice cold glass of water he couldn’t handle the hot wings but he said they were worth the pain😅😅 . We will def be returning next time we come up north!!
Went to the bar and was served by Ava amazing service, she was so friendly and answered all my questions about the menu, and staff are so friendly, would recommend.
A lovely Travelodge for our overnight stay in Newcastle. Room was clean, lovely bedding and clean towels, comfy beds and pillows. Only issue - room far too hot! Nice bar area to sit for couple of drinks, Karli at reception very helpful and polite.
Ordered last minute and when I mean last minute, arrived at the hotel to check in, had some difficulties but that was from my end due to a dead phone. The reception staff (David,Reagan and Dan) were all absolutely amazing help and had a nice conversation with them whilst getting booked in. Process was fast and professional they really made me enjoy my visit here. The hotel room is clean, surprisingly big, tidy and comfortable. You can’t fault this not 1 bit, amazing work! thank you.
Recently stay at this hotel. Looks to have recently had a refurb which looks great. Had kids there food was reasonable priced and tasted lovely. Hotel staff were excellent and friendly, making sure our stay was great.
The stay was terrible. We were put on the ground floor which seemed to be full of guests who were there for a night out. We had people knocking our door in the early hours and running off. Drunk guests pacing the corridor swearing and being loud. Security paced the floors but they were loud which was counter intuitive. After two nights without sleep we raised a room change with reception which was more of a hassle than required. We were told to come back in the morning and they would sort a room for us. We did so and reception agreed we could store our luggage in our existing room until we returned from a long day trip that evening as the room wasn't able to be confirmed until after we caught our train that morning. This then led to numerous phone calls where staff insisted on moving our stuff to a side cupboard by reception so they could offer out our ground floor room. I refused this and we were then offered a refund on our stay that night but as we were visiting from Wales that wasn't possible. I escalated this to a manager who implied I was lying and hadn't been to reception that morning. Once explained she immediately agreed that we could get our new room on our return and our stuff wouldn't be touched. Following this experience I would not recommend or stay in a Travelodge again. The service provided was disappointing to say the least!
Lovely clean room, comfortable bed and great central location to explore the quayside. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Only downside of our stay is we did prepay for breakfast however was a let down. Food was tasteless and in my opinion was not worth the money spent but all in all we have enjoyed our stay and would definitely return just in future will not have breakfast
kasey was so helpful highly recommended this hotel
Very warm welcome to our group we were looked after from start to finish. Very clean rooms and was a peaceful sleep
We stayed to go to Newcastle Cathedral for a candlelight concert. Parking was under the hotel and easy to locate. Third party parking but after filling in the online details through the QR code, 24 hours parking in Newcastle Centre was £9. Great reason to stay in the hotel. The hotel was clean and tide. Met by Olivia on reception who was very pleasant and made us feel welcome. Bathroom was clean and everything worked as it should. Tv was okay for late night viewing but could do with been all-mounted ( small issue) Breakfast next morning was great. Cooked and we were looked after Zoe G. Short of staff so she was doing two jobs but special mention to her. Got on with it and no complaints from her about the situation. Would recommend staying here.
Absolutely amazing hospitality, Demi was wonderful very hospitable and charismatic. Thank you again to Demi for making our Christmas holiday run so smoothly.
Fantasic staff, all very welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Demi who was extremely hospitable and cheery. Lots of rushing around for us on Christmas day with the 9 of us.
The hotel is conveniently located and at this time of year pre-xmas very good value. The hotel was clean throughout, and very quiet. Staff were polite and helpful both upon arrival and departure.
Big big thank you to Regian and David, Dan. Guys you are welcoming and professionals. Customer focus 100%. Merry Christmas.
Always nice to stay here. Staff were great. Room had a bath which is a massive plus. Comfortable room.
The young receptionist, Olivia, was very helpful as we checked in. We didn't check the correct way for the carpark but Olivia dealt with it without any fuss. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. We were in Newcastle for the Lindisfarne Christmas concert and required a taxi. Olivia again dealt with this very efficiently. The breakfast was wholesome, with the best bacon we've had in any hotel.
The staff were very kind, helpful and up for a laugh with the gift which is always great for atmosphere. Sammie and Blake in particular were great to be around
Very good rooms food and drink nothing to complain about a nice short stay we had , a bit of uphill walk to all shops if not good at walking
Was just ok, sadly the rooms just still are dated even though refurbished. Paid for the plus room but this really only gives you a coffee machine and a small Kit Kat! Not really as described online.
Good location , very clean , nice bar area and great staff , karli on reception was fab and went out of her way to help when one of us had a hair disaster .
Very convenient for the Live Theatre and an easy stroll in to the city centre. Very pleasant welcome from Kari and all staff who we spoke to . Will definitely stay here again . Many thanks
Great time, fantastic location, super friendly service/staff and the rooms are nice much better than the last one I stayed in last year
Stayed here for the weekend with my partner for a little getaway, lovely hotel right near the water, nice and clean with fantastic service from the staff Demi, David and Reegan were absolutely lovely and so helpful and accommodating would definitely stay here again.
Great value stay. Room was clean and warm and modern. We also parked which was good value for money at £9.50 for 24 hours. Within walking distance of quayside and city centre . Warm welcome from receptionist upon arrival. Cannot fault for the price paid would definitely stay again
A deal on pizza and the bars stocked with bottles of ale. David, Regan and Dan were absolutely lovely. What more could you want?!
Our stay was for 2 nights midweek for shopping and Christmas Market. A perfect room as always which is what you would expect from Travelodge, clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and answered any questions. Brilliant location, parked the car safely and walked into the city each day. Hotel was quiet and away for traffic. Ate out mostly to experience the Newcastle hospitality but had breakfast one morning and drinks at the bar when we came back at night. All the staff we came across were lovely and couldn't be anymore helpful.
I just wanted to give a big shout out to the staff who were on duty on Friday night when my son and I came back to the hotel. There was a slight issue which they dealt with, with a pragmatic approach and a great sense of humour and kindness. Those three staff members were Demi, Reegan and David. Thank you to you all.
Great staff, super friendly and quick to acknowledge you on arrival. Karli was warm and friendly on checkout. Room had plenty of space and was really quiet considering the hotel was full on the first night. Enjoyed my stay here.
Ideal location karli on reception was fab along with the lady at the bar who also made breakfast. We had 2 children so paying £9.99 each adult and the children getting breakfast for £1 was definitely worth the money. I would definitely stay again.
Great comfortable and spacious room, in a nice convenient place. Rachael who worked the shift until 23.00 on Friday was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and was always friendly and seemed to have time for people as individuals.
I received a warm welcome on arrival from Rachael who was informative and helpful. Room was tidy and warm. Breakfast had many options and was plentiful. Highly recommend staying here.
Thank you Rachel Newcastle Central at reception, a credit to Travelodge she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I had a excellent stay
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this hotel! Demi was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived and helped me sort out a mistake with parking. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. The location couldn’t have been better, with the quay just a couple of minutes walk away and the city centre 20minutes walk. Overall, it was the perfect place to explore Newcastle and get a great night’s sleep. Highly recommended! Thank you to Demi, David & Malcolm.
Much improved rooms after update. Good bed. Central location near the Quayside. Food also improved. Nice staff. Ground floor rooms noisy- bumps and scrapes and machine noise. Book upstairs!
Very nice hotel and central for all amenities. Staff friendly and helpful. Super comfortable bed - lovely room, great shower.
Water was off when we got there then at 4am the staff came to the room and kick us out trying to say that we had been smoking in the room we had to leave with no where to go even though i told them we hadn't been smoking they didn't believe us I'm a vulnerable adult and my husband has learning disabilities we were kick out would never stay there again
My experience was extremely good, being received by attentive and helpful staff who listened and understood my situation. Rachel at the front desk was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She was happy and cheerful each time no matter by questions!
Had a fantastic stay with this hotel, the staff were very friendly and were always helpful and went out there way to help as mother in law is gluten free and helped us with the menu for that. Would also like to mention that Sophie c that works there went out her way to make our stay very welcoming would defo recommend the hotel as its very central and has a good walk to quayside. Noise level was OK not to bad and the rooms were very clean and spacious
The hotel is located in the Quayside area, beneath the Tyne Bridge, which is full of bars and restaurants. It's walking distance to the town centre, with some major live music venues. The hotel has a car park on-site. This is extremely useful! We stayed over while attending a concert at the O2 City Hall. We were able to park, book in and have a meal at the Turtle Bay before the gig. Seamless. No problems. Rooms are modern, with excellent beds and a nice hot shower. What more do you need? After the gig, we had a drink and a pizza at the bar, way after midnight. Checkout is midday, so plenty of time for breakfast at the hotel. The place is very relaxed and the staff are excellent. Not expensive, either. We paid about £60ish for a double room.
Very helpful and friendly staff always happy to help. Karli and her colleagues were consistently positive, professional and approachable. Good location in quiet area. Excellent and reasonably priced taxi service available to avoid walking into and back from city centre in the evenings. Able to book taxi at reception when needed.
I Have stayed at a number of Travelodges and this was by far the worst experience i have had at one. Despite the website claiming a recent refurbishment, the carpets in the corridors leading to and from my room were filthy, permanently stained and in need of replacement. The outside of the hotel near reception was disgusting with litter everywhere. The "meal" I was conned into buying by the wording in the menu in my room was utterly inedible and the worst burger I have ever had the misfortune of trying. The "chef" has clearly given up and has lost ANY sense of pride in his performance. Bacon on the burger was still squealing, limp stale lettuce was thrown onto a sad looking roll. Chips were rock hard and the onion rings inedible too.
After a foray into the budget offering of Travelodge Blackpool, I decided at £31 99, this hotel was worth a visit. So happy that I did, from Natalie at Reception, Zoe in the bar, Housekeeping and Receptionist Sophie, everything was tiptop. The newly refurbed bedroom, unlimited beverage topups and the massive flat screen TV and sparkling bathroom were a treat. Drinks and food were great value, too. New design Travelodges are a great option.
If you need to stop in Newcastle and you have a tight budget, then stay at the Central Travelodge. Great location, nice clean and tidy hotel, lovely beds and bedding, spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms.....and the best bit, absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone was helpful, friendly...truly lovely people. Billie and Bonnie in particular!
Wonderful team of staff at Central Newcastle Travelodge- clean hotel, spotless rooms and bathroom, great food for dinner and breakfast- would definitely recommend, will definitely stay again. And did I mention- the staff are so friendly, welcoming, prompt service, helpful.....lovely people!
New refurbishment is fantastic. Warm, cosy and inviting. Babs, Carly & Sophie were great, nothing too much trouble. Can’t wait to come again.
The staff were really helpful which makes such a refreshing change. Karl and Anna were really brilliant ! Would definitely stay again.
Came for a concert at the nearby city hall Karli was fab on check-in telling us how to get to the venue and told us about evening meals and breakfast on return Demi was equally as brilliant on our return chatting away to us at the bar and serving us a lovely hot honey pepperoni pizza both lasses are a credit to your hotel
Close to the train station, plenty of bars, places to eat, shops and sights to see nearby. No issues, as usual.
A decent place to get your head down at a fair price. There’s onsite parking at £9.50 per day. I went from Sunday until Tuesday and it was perfectly quiet both inside and outside the building. Bed was comfortable. My only real complaint is that the bedroom window was covered in bird excrement and appeared to never have been cleaned externally in a very long time. It completely ruined my view of the waste ground to the rear! Otherwise it was ok.
Solo traveller. Room very clean and spacious with large double bed. In very close proximity to the quayside pubs and eateries. Excellent friendly staff always willing to help and customer focused with a smile more so Karli from front of house a cheerful pleasant member of the team always willing to help.and advise.
I will try again to review the experience we had here, as the other two were removed and we have had no idea why? The hotel is in itself very good, kept clean and tidy for what you need, a room and a bed as a base to tour the North east. All the staff are polite and keep trying to get you to use the bar and restaurant on site. Well we decided to use the Restaurant on Weds 29th Oct, much now toour dismay. My wife ordered the Chicken sizzle breast with sweetcorn and chips, and I ordered the meat pie with chips which they changed from the mash and green beans. Well my wifes Chicken Breast was vastly overcooked, whereas her sweetcorn on the Cob hadnt even been warmed up. My Pie had been super nuked in the Microwave as the pastry was as hard as the Nut that fell from the Tyne Bridge that just missed us. The green Beans were just a soggy mess and not even warm. So basically I had a few chips to dip in the Pie filling and a bit of Gravy, My Wife had her few chips to pick at. All in all a WASTE of £27.90, plus £11.00 for the drinks. Needless to say we wont be dining here again. When the Manager/asst Manager came to clear the plates, he asked what was wrong? So I told him, and all he could say was, im sorry about that, NO OFFER of a refund, and just took the plates and left. Disgusting really. We stay in the Travelodge quite often in Newcastle as we like touring the North East, and even though weve had this hiccup, it wont put us off staying here or the Quayside.
Excellent central location, clean and tidy, good food and extremely helpful staff, especially Karli. Will visit again.
The rooms were clean and tidy (apart from the bin in our room, which was full and not emptied prior to our arrival). The staff were helpful and welcoming and helped us when our key cards randomly stopped working. We stayed in a Friday and Saturday night, so we’re were expecting it to be quite loud and noisy, but they advised that they had given us a room in the basement as it was much quieter there, which it was. The only noise was from outside, the bins being emptied, which felt like was on the hour, every hour on the Friday night. The fire alarm went off multiple times on the Friday morning (between 5am-6am) which wasn’t great, but the Saturday night was thankfully uneventful. The hotel bar was good and had a nice atmosphere in the evening when we went for a few drinks. I feel that the rooms were good value for money and in a great location. We were just a short walk from the centre. We walked into the town on both evenings to go out for something to eat.
Came to Newcastle with group of lads for a stag fantastic night out in Newcastle came back to hotel didn’t realise bar would still be open for food and drinks was informed by Demi bar was still open orders pizza and drinks thank you to mal for the nice pizza great staff came back to desk as key didn’t work thank you to David for sorting that for us will definitely return
Stayed here with family for wedding amazing hotel since being done out great staff massive thank you to demi malcolm and David for there amazing hospitality will definitely return
It was awful! Bed was extremely uncomfortable, shower barely worked, could hear people screaming outside the hotel all throughout the night and to top it off a random fire alarm test at 5:30 in the morning where we had no warning about the test evening happening ! Staff was just moody and blunt!
Stayed at Newcastle central for night out with friends when arrived back was greated by Demi dan Malcolm great costumer service had great laugh and chat with Demi thank you so much wil def return great drinks and food
Friendly staff. Made me feel at home and went the extra mile. Special thanks to Sophie, Bonnie and Dale for the warm welcome :)
Worldie of a hotel, great bar staff, carly in particular is fab👍👍👍 lovely rooms and great pizzas and food! Def be back again
Hotel is great centrally located breakfast is great value. KARLI is a great host.................................
Great location and superb staff . Especially Karley behind the bar ❤️ lovely time and rooms were superb . Lovely City and thank you Newcastle for a great time . Will be back again on my return
Dear Travelodge Management Team, I am writing to formally raise a concern about the poor service and unprofessional behaviour I recently experienced at Travelodge Newcastle Central. Upon my arrival, it took over an hour to check in as a member of staff named Sophie repeatedly issued me a room key that did not work. After trying the key several times without success, I politely asked Sophie to accompany me to the room to see what the issue might be. She refused, insisting that the key worked, and instructed me to try again. This was particularly distressing as I had just travelled for seven hours and was extremely tired. A fellow guest at reception noticed my struggle and expressed sympathy, stating that the way I was being treated was wrong. Another staff member named Billy later offered to assist and accompanied me to the room. She also could not open the door and mentioned that it might be broken, adding that only Sophie knew how to unlock the doors. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have been treated disrespectfully by Sophie. On previous occasions, she has been dismissive, issued deactivated keys, and refused my reasonable room requests. I have also observed her treating other guests differently and more courteously, which makes me feel that her attitude towards me is discriminatory and unacceptable. On this particular visit, when I entered the hotel, she greeted me with, “What do you want?” — which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite explaining that I had travelled a long distance and was exhausted, she showed no empathy or concern and offered no apology for the inconvenience. I have continued to book with Travelodge in the hope that previous issues might have been isolated incidents, but I now believe this matter needs to be properly addressed. Sophie’s behaviour has caused me significant stress, anxiety, and discomfort, and I feel that no customer should be treated in such a manner. I respectfully request that Travelodge investigate this incident and take appropriate action to ensure all guests are treated fairly and with respect. Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response.
We stayed here for one night when attending a concert. The hotel is in a great position, right near the quayside. The reception staff were lovely, check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and well maintained. The price was fantastic. Would highly recommend.
The room was far too hot even with heating off. There was no wifi signal and we were not prepared to pay, so unable to use phone. There was no phone to ring down to reception in an emergancy. Was not made aware of car parking on the wed site. Menu in restaurant for eving meal very basic.
I had a good time during my stay here. The room is spacious, the location is just walking distance to the city’s attractions, restaurants and bars. Not too far from the train station too. The hotel staffs are helpful and welcoming. I would like to commend Demi, Dan, and Mal for a great service they give. Great hospitality from Dan of the hotel bar/restaurant. Would definitely come back on my next visit.
It's amazing. I have fun chatting with Dan at the bar. He's very good. Everything is good. I would recommend this place if you want to stay.
This is Eric here for stag do! Bonnie has been non stop!! And amazing with her team player billie!! Excellent bar staff and absolutely hilarious . Wey aye man
Great location. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Breakfast great with happy team that had me leaving with a smile. Will be back
Just a shout out to Billie and Gemma, an amazing welcome Thank you so much I started to lose faith in Travelodge, until now.
Nice cold Guinness but the frozen chips and long blond hair wrapped around my corn on the Cob , ooooeeeer missus was a bit of a put off , on the whole though a pleasant visit with loverly staff and updated rooms , within easy 2 mins walk of the quayside which offers numerous drinking and eating opportunities.
I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at the Newcastle central Travelodge. Booking in was easy, less than a minute. The room was very clean and spacious, for just myself. It looked as if the room had been refreshed recently and the bathroom was perfect with a glorious shower. Staff were spot on if I request any help, being disabled. And location was very good, the quay side and market being less than 50 yards away. I noted local buses ran above and below the roads from the hotel. Thanks to Natalie, Heather and Kari for an enjoyable stay
Good central location by the quayside, easy access to pubs, restaurants etc I wouldn't bothere with the slight room upgrade, there isn't much difference . The window on the higher room floor was very dirty which made the view of the bridge hard to see.
Stayed Fri Sat nights and enjoyed our stay as always, especially chatting with Demi, Dan, Malcolm and David, when we came back after our evening out, they were nice and friendly and made us some fab pizzas. Was lovely to sit in the newly refurbished bar café area. Would highly recommend, a good spot to stay as not far from the quayside, bars/restaurants etc. Rooms were quiet so we slept well.
The staff at this venue is second to none. Carlie really helped me out letting me nip back to my room to change after work finished up early. They made me feel like I genuinely was at home. It was clean and safe and very convenient and all that at a great price. The restaurant is very pleasantly located in the milk market with sneaky peak at the concert hall across the river.
Lovely helpful staff, excellent location and a varied tasty breakfast that even catered to my fussy taste. Would definitely book this next time I'm visiting Newcastle
We’ve stayed at Travelodge Newcastle Central before, but the bar has recently been redone – and we love it now! It’s the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine after leaving your precious first-born at university. The location is spot on for Newcastle Uni and the city centre, rooms are comfortable and good value, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Special thanks to Will for his friendly bar service – he really made our stay.
20 of us stayed here for 2nts in September 2025 and couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Karli on reception was extremely helpful in all matters we had from we arrived. Will definitely be back again. Thanks
The location was spot on, central to everywhere. Staff were friendly, nice bar. The room had everything you would need, however the smell made me give it a lower score. My room smelt of grease, the bathroom smelt funky and the stairwell had a weird smell to it. The room was clean, but I couldn’t get past the smell. It is quite a noisy hotel, I think because it caters for business ppl, nights away, stag/hen dos.
The chef Curtis made a great Dessert with lots of flavour and it was a welcoming experience. Dan's professionalism and engagement gave me an encouraging spice of the city. His beer was also on point. It is an experience you want to have.
Friendly front desk staff members. Smooth fast elevators. Big size double rooms on the 3rd floor, even though the door on room 78 sounded like a dungeon gate on a good day. No water pressure at all in the shower. On my second day of staying I was surprised by the fact, 'that for some reason some key cards just stop working', so you got to ask reception to re-code the card for you.
Demi looked after my friends amazing food and drinks breakfast great bar amazing and rooms are amazing friends can't wait to return
Stayed here for an overnight getaway, great location only a five minute walk to quayside, great restaurants near by and the staff at this hotel are just brilliant. Room was immaculate and clean the hotels new bar/cafe looks incredible also. Was greeted by Natalie and dale customer service with a smile. Thanks to both Sophie’s,Liam and Curtis Would definitely stay here again if in the area
Newcastle Central was the worst Travelodge I have stayed in. carpets in corridors v grubby. Wrong advice given about car parking resulting I paying £13 more than necessary and being told we would have to contact Parking Co to try to claim back - and ex-gratis payment would have been more appropriate. Stairwell smelt of sour milk all the time we were there. Toilet in room was smelly and area could have been cleaner. On leaving room, found door lock didn’t work. Was told to leave it with them while we went out for dinner only to find on staff had changed when we got back and guy on reception knew nothing about it. Eventually member of staff who was aware showed us to a different room. Not a great experience all told.
