Super friendly staff, lovely bar, great location
Staff, atmosphere, food & location
Lots of stairs
Spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed.Great staff, very friendly. Delicious breakfast
I liked it all
My room was very big and well decorated The view was great of the sea and De La Warr Pavilion Great breakfast Friendly staff
I could hear the music from the bar But I had asked for a room on a lower floor due to the stairs so to be expected
It’s all about location and, for us, proximity to the De la Warr Pavilion
Room was too dark. Terrible window opening to a nasty shaft. The breakfast was very limited, no cereal, no toast etc
Great property, great location, lovely lovely staff delicious breakfast
Parking was across the road in a public car park (expensive) and you had to wake up at 8am to pay for the next morning - a small niggle on an otherwise lovely stay!
Breakfast was better than expected
Shower heads need replacing as bits were missing
I have stayed at the Wayfarer on several occasions in the past 18 months and regard it as a really good overnight stop.Friendly staff and ,good breakfast. Emilia is an excellent member of the team and is calm efficient and friendly.
Staff were lovely, food was excellent. Comfortable bed, and good quality bedding.
That although the door shuts, I would of liked an additional lock.
Location and friendly staff
Nothing
The property is located right by the seafront and near the Centre of town. A great spot which allows for a quick walk to nearby restaurants.
L'accueil, belle chambre bien calme au dernier étage au dessus du pub avec soirée soul musique.bon petit déjeuner avec de nombreux choix.
The room was very comfortable.
The car park was across the road and the charges really add up it cost over £20 for 2 days stay. The breakfast was not good. The bacon and eggs in the full English wete overcooked and my scrambled egg had to be sent back as it had uncooked white in it. When I asked for it to be well cooked I had to use a knife to cut it which is a 1st in my life!!
The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were a dream. The staff were extremely helpful both yesterday and this morning.
Parking I would have to say caused an issue as I had to pay for parking yesterday and this morning.
Alles gut

Good room, friendly staff and great location near beach front
Great location by the sea , very modern bathrooms, great breakfast , also tried the pub food which was fantastic too.
There is a music speaker outside the pub which runs from about 7:45am (when staff turn on the music inside) until late. With the pub not opening to the public until 12:30 pm, this could / should be changed as this is quite disturbing when trying to sleep with an open window.
VERY NICE AND CLEAN
DIDNT REALISE THAT WE WAS AT THE VERY TOP OF THE HOUSE BUT LUCKILY WE ARE ABLE BODIED
The breakfast was lovely. One of the best Vegetarian breakfasts I have had at a hotel.
Excellent staff and breakfast. Rooms were very spacious and location was excellent.
Little bit pricey
Charmant hôtel avec vue sur mer. Le personnelest tres sympathique. Au rez-de-chaussée se trouve un tres agréable pub où le (somptueux) déjeuner est servi
The location was great, and the room was clean and quiet, and the food was amazing. We will definitely come back again .
The stairs . We were on the top floor about 6 flights, no lift, it's ok if you are quite fit im 70 and found it ok good exercise before breakfast .
Close to sea and pavilion, good size room
Restaurant downstairs a bit noisy late at night. Limited choice breakfast.
Great location, lovely staff room well equipped and clean. Excellent food.
Lovely big room in a great location on the sea front. Great breakfast with veggie / vegan options. Property was very clean & staff friendly and welcoming
Excellent stay, pub lovely, food amazing and very friendly staff
Nothing
Despite being above a pub, we didn't hear any noise from below. It was very quiet. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. They had even provided a floor fan due to the hot weather and also two suitcase stands (most places only provide one!). The breakfast was absolutely lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend it.
Nothing to report.
Well appointed rooms; good location; fabulous breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely breakfast.
Staff were lovely , room was clean, bar was fab and good value for money.
Location
Noise
Perfect location lovely room overlooking the sea nice that you can open the balcony windows let me in sea air in.
The fact that the room was very hot, but that’s nothing to do with the place itself that was to do with the weather in the UK at this time.
Views. Spacious room.
Stairs up to it.
So close to the beach and local restaurants
The room was lovely with a sea view
Top floor, steep steps, no lift. The huge walk in shower grt but needs a handrail/ non slip mat. I slipped and twisted my foot, hurt knee & hip. Spent 8hrs overnight in Bexhill hosp for xrays. Fortunately nothing broken.
Posizione, pulizia
4 piano senza ascensore.
Beautiful rooms very clean lovely pub
Slightly noisy and busy on a Saturday night .
Die Lage ist einfach fantastisch
Although we didn't have an outside view, the room was large & very comfortably furnished. Good bathroom & shower. The large bed was very comfy. We certainly appreciated the big fan during the hot weather. Great breakfast.
The constant noise of an extractor fan outside our bedroom window. It was too hot to keep the window closed.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good.
Rather a lot of stairs to climb to get to rooms 7,8,9. Not sure if this was mentioned in hotel info. May have missed it
Good location, nice room and lovely bar downstairs
Great location Very good breakfast
It was very noisy but to be fair we knew we were staying above a bar
Clean modern room, if a bit small. . Bed comfortable.Lovely ambience in the pub downstairs Noisy but Friday night with a great band, so to be expected. Great location. Friendly helpful staff.
3rd floor so many stairs and no lift. Breakfast selection very limited by most standards. 25 minute wait for fried breakfast. Wifi intermittent.
Super clean and comfortable, hosts were very helpful, and delicious breakfast
Would have been nice to know there would be music downstairs till late, was very loud in the room and unable to get an early night in!
Breakfast was very good! Although there was a good selection, maybe a smoked salmon & scrambled eggs or eggs royale option could be added. Excellent location.
Nothing to dislike!
It worked really well for us. The location was good, but parking was paid for across the road. But good parking and reasonable price.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great and the location is close to the seaside and also the train station. Several nice restaurants in walking distance. We had a very quiet room.
Be aware that the hotel is located in an 1900`s building, so no elevator and a very narrow and steep staircase. But the staff will be helpful with the luggage.
everything went well, staff really friendly, breakfast was great, would def stay again
Great staff and wonderful breakfasts. Appreciated the use of Bramley products in the bathroom as well as the comfort and location.
Nothing
Wij hebben 2 heerlijke nachten gehad bij the Wayfarer. Mooie ruime kamer, locatie ideaal.
Great location, clean, well equipped. Good value for the price we paid.
Only very minor point, breakfast (granola and yoghurt ) was a little slow to arrive.
Perfect location, sea views, easy car parking. Tasty breakfast in the morning!! Helpful friendly staff

Great location, very friendly helpful staff and excellent breakfast too.
Great location lovely staff
Staff and location
Disappointed with room size and bathroom
Very cosy, fantastic location. Great bar underneath which was quiet when in bed. Fantastic breakfast in the price.
Nothing, they stated the fact there was no outside window, so no problem
Breakfast diabolical I ordered poached eggs on toast they were rock hard had to send them back my partner ordered a full English breakfast it was as burnt and well overcooked I have photos
Didn’t expect all the stairs as we are both pensioners. Parking was very expensive we thought that it stated free parking that’s why we booked this particular place
Location is great. The atmosphere in the bar was epic. The bathroom was huge.
The room was far too hot. There was a fan in the room but didnt help much. No outside window in the bedroom. Was like a little sauna.
Was lovely, clean & good location
Location very good, liked the bar downstairs
Room was clean and well equipped
We were on the top floor and therefore many stairs. No shelf in bathroom so nowhere to put anything
Friendly, welcoming staff. Great location by the sea. Room 1 was large and comfortable
Large room with sea view
Room was quite dusty and bathroom was showing signs of wear. Breakfast was okay but limited choice as only allowed one option from menu, granola or a cooked breakfast and no toast.
Excellent stay. Very comfortable and welcoming but unstuffy. Staff brilliant. Location really couldn't be better, 2-minute walk to beach and De La Warr Pavilion. Car park just across the street. Pub downstairs is marvellous - I'd be absolutely chuffed to have this place as my local. Ate dinner there and joined in the quiz, again we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely full English for breakfast in the morning, perfect start to the day.
Could maybe come up with something if I thought hard, but really I'd be nitpicking for no reason.
The staff are so friendly and attentive. The view was lovely even though we had a side room it still faced the seafront from the bay window.
Little noisy if band playing in the bar but we joined in as it generally finished by 10am
Location
Floor was squeaky an needed a mug instead of an egg cup to ake a cup of tea in the room
Room was clean, quiet with a comfortable bed Cooked vegan breakfast option was very good
Breakfast was limited to cooked breakfast only no cereals etc The room I stayed in was dark 24 hrs a day with no natural light you cannot see out of any windows. Felt very closed in, don’t stay in room 6 if you’re hoping for a room with a sea view like I was. I like natural light and a window to look outside. Very expensive for what you get. You have to pay for daytime parking
Nice room
The room was too hot, it didn't have aircon nor a fan and it was too hot
Stayed here about 4 times now. Excellent base for gigs at the De Le Warr as its just across the road. Great breakfast. Nice bar for dinner downstairs. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Nice rooms & friendly staff.
Rooms are immaculate, great size and the bar/restaurant is great for a social drink and eat
All was great other than the access to breakfast room was locked on a Sunday until 9am (even though could order in their app from 8am)? The breakfast quality was ok but not great.
Easy access, through the pub or the side door out of hours.
A lot of stairs but the window aspect looking out to sea made up for it.
Good friendly staff ,lively atmosphere on a weekend, good location, good breakfast
We had a lovely stay at The Wayfarer. The room was clean, comfortable, and well presented, with a fantastic view. Everything we needed was provided, and it made for a very relaxing stay. We would happily stay again and would recommend it to others.
Nothing significant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Overall, our stay was acceptable, but for the price paid I expected a higher standard. We booked this hotel at the last minute for a visit to Seven Sisters, so the choice of accommodation was limited. Nothing was a major issue for us personally, but some of the points below may be important to other guests. - The staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. The team did their best despite being very busy in the evenings (as they work in a pub) - Breakfast on the first morning was excellent, and the coffee was fantastic. - The car park is large and convenient, and we could see our car from the room. - The photos reflect the property.
- While the photos are accurate, the rooms and facilities feel rather tired and worn and could benefit from some updating. - The bins had not been emptied after the previous guests, which was disappointing. There was hair on the bathroom floor on arrival. We stayed for two nights and I understand that rooms may not be serviced during a short stay, which is absolutely fine, but it would have been nice if the rubbish had been removed. Staff entered the room to collect recycling, but the main bin remained full throughout our stay. - There were visible drink marks on the bedside tables. Simple coasters could help prevent this. - The rooms are located above a pub, so it is quite noisy until around 11pm. Any requests (for example, we needed an extra blanket) have to be made through the pub, which can be very busy in the evenings. - Before arrival, we received parking information, but the prices quoted did not match the actual charges. We also later discovered that it is possible to park along the road free of charge between 8pm and 10am. It would have been helpful if this had been mentioned by staff, as we only found out on our second day and were able to save money on the second night. - Breakfast on the second morning was disappointing. Despite being asked to pre-order the evening before, we still waited around 45 minutes for our food. The portions were also less generous than on the first morning, and unfortunately the coffee tasted burnt. - There is no lift, which may be worth noting for guests with heavy luggage or mobility concerns. There are three floors, with three rooms on each floor.
I liked how close it was to the beach, my bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Once again the staff were brilliant.
I found the chairs in my room uncomfortable and my USB sockets didn't work. We were expecting some noise from the bar downstairs but on the Saturday night the music went on till 12 a.m which was unfortunate as it should have stopped at 11.30pm.
Friendly staff and welcome
Air conditioning would have been preferable to a fan on a timer and it was hot day and evening
Great location, reasonably priced parking in the car park opposite, was free after 10pm upto 8am which was handy, but even better was the staff in the hotel/bar informed us that if we find a space at the side of the hotel on the opposite side of the road we could actually leave the car there up until 10am so no need to move it before then. Breakfast was really great quality and tasty, staff really friendly and accommodating. The bar was very cool and quirky. Room was fabulous and comfy. Will definitely stay again if ever in the area again 😊
Nothing at all.
Absolutely fantastic, staff couldn't do enough, food was delicious as was breakfast. Room immaculate. Definitely be returning. Thank you all
Sehr nette Gastgeberin. Stilvolle Einrichtung. Fabelhafte Aussicht. Tolle Bar mit Lifemusik.
Long wait almost one hour for breakfast not advised by staff until we asked apparently a problem in the kitchen. Communication requires improvement.
Beautiful clean room, sea view and friendly staff.
Nothing
Although our room was small, it had everything we needed. It was well decorated and clean with good tea making facilities, which was helpful as we were at the top of three flights of stairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was probably the best we've ever had at a B&B. They also do great coffee and you can take it away.
A few knocks and marks on the decor. The bed was a double and we are used to a slightly larger one but it was still comfortable.
Top location, comfy room, great bathroom and toiletries, EXCELLENT cooked breakfast, delicious dinners, very pleased. Staff very nice and friendly, bar at night very lively but rooms totally quiet. Decoration and music at the bar ten points ;)
Just to give an opinion: My room had no external windows and was very dark. I didnt mind because was very hot weather so it kept cooler, but had I been in winter or longer stayed, I would have minded. The bathroom was super light. No mat on the bathtub, or safety handles, bit slippery and potentially dangerous for someone like me. Also, no lift so those with heavy luggage, pushchairs, wheelchairs please check in advance, not sure if it would suit.
Location was excellent - near everything in Bexhill, most notably the DLW. Staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was superb.
Didn’t enjoy the music from the bar booming through the floor until midnight. Also the mattress and pillows weren’t great.
Lovely, helpful staff, unfortunately breakfast was late but otherwise all very good and a great location
The rooms are a little tired looking
Friendly, comfortable, clean, good location, felt safe.
Noise from bar below, although it stopped at around 11.30.
The room is a great size and has a fine view of the sea. It sits atop its own bar which is one of my favourites and would definitely be my local if I lived in the area. This is also a great place to eat including the sublime breakfast. Combing relaxed and efficient is an art and they have the art.
A couple of the windows don’t close properly so there was a slight disturbance from road noise in the morning. I apologise for not mentioning it before we left. Not a complaint and wouldn’t stop us returning.
Great location , comfortable
Nothing
The location is brilliant, a minute’s walk from the iconic De La Warr pavilion
We missed breakfast on our last morning as we had to leave soon after 8:30 am
Location great. Staff really friendly
No ‘normal’ tea in the room. Wait for breakfast was a little long. Decor in room a little tired.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and cosy and comfortable. The beds were comfy the bathroom was very new and up to date. Had hairdryer in the room. Along with a good selection of teas and coffees and biscuits and a bottle of water. Had a iron and ironing board on the landing. Nice thick towels even had a face flannel. Breakfast was nice and large cooked breakfast and included nice tasty scrambled eggs and local sausages. Right opposite the De la Warr Pavilion and beach and round the corner to shops. Opposite bus stops. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay again.
A bit noisy as the bar downstairs has live music, but not that bad.
Michelle was fantastic.. so welcoming and helpful. Great beer in the atmospheric bar. Wonderful Full English breakfast!
Having to pay for most close by parking during the hours of daylight!
The location was very close to the venue we were visiting.
The room was just amazing and so big
The atmosphere of the place was amazing - when I got there at about 4pm, the bar was really busy, with people chatting away and having fun. In the evening the food (fish and chips) was one of the best f+c meals I have eaten. Then they had a DJ who really got the evening going, so again the atmosphere was quite unique. The staff were incredibly friendly and really efficient.
I really couldn't fault the place!
Nothing
Room had no natural light, like sleeping in a dungeon. Charger socket in the room did not work.
Well situated on the sea front
Nothing
Amazing location opposite the beach so we could sea the sea all the time. The staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked with local ingredients. It took a time to arrive as it was cooked to order which could have been difficult if you were anxious to leave quickly but was no problem for us.
It was noisy in The evening until the restaurant and bar shut and all the customers left which was gone 11.30pm. As it was a warm weekend the customers were sitting in tables outside waiting for taxis and that was after midnight and quite noisy.
Lovely view from the window. Helpful staff who let us check in early. Nice breakfast and lovely pub below us.
Didn't appreciate we were above a pub when it was booked. The pub was great - just a bit loud when they had a DJ there on Sat night. Possibly down to my research - not enough to put me off staying there again. Bathroom door with windows that weren't fully frosted, so you could see through them from the bedroom - bit weird!
The room was stunning and in a fantastic location with sea views. Clean and comfortable with great breakfast
It was so noisy !!! I was right above the bar and I had no idea when I booked that there would be very loud music and a DJ on until half past midnight ! My room was literally shaking and I couldn’t even hear my TV. I thought it was just a bistro restaurant when I booked so I really wasn’t impressed. It totally ruined the stay for me.
