The attention to detail. The rugs on either side of the bed, the mats in the bathroom, the fact thst there were hooks to hang stuff on. Oh. And the yummy rusks.

The place was super good - enjoyed the mountain breeze. The stuff should allow us to eat as we want, if I want 4 slices of bread they shud not judge me, my partner and I was hungry

The tv in my kids' room was not working and the host could not assist. Had to use cold water to wasp. The hot water finished.

The place is beautiful and clean, the breakfast was also nice.

I was really disappointed by the fact that,I was send an invoice of R1000 for a curtain that fell and one of us left the room untidy. I felt like the amount is too much.

Great room with magnificent views of the Maluti Mountain range! Lallies was a great host and she made excellent recommendations for the best spots to visit, trails to walk and restaurants to enjoy our dinners at. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge. Thank you! We will most certainly visit again 🤗

The host is not user friendly as well as the staff , they a very rude .

We had a lovely stay here. The rooms are actually quite big. There was a heater and extra blankets for a cold weekend and a fan for a hot weekend. The room also had a mini fridge and plenty of cupboard space. We also had a lovely outdoor seating area that overlooked the gorgeous garden. It was quiet and relaxing. And a great location. And the breakfast view is just wonderful!

Breakfast was lovely, but I'd suggest having a floor manager to greet guests and direct them as to what's available and how it works.

Property's nice and clean

We arrived late around 10pm coming from a family funeral 5 hours drive. Expressing inconveniences of driving in and out to park next gate at night bad location close to loud shebeen, safety concern being a woman a night and 2 young girlz kds, the lady was very rude and told me it is not her problem that we arrive late. Extremely disappointing no empathy. I called to get details n report we were driving from Jhb. She promised to send voice note how to get the keys but instead sent 5 pages of messages with instructions. Driving at night could not read long messages then she got irritated when I called and kept saying read my messages read my messages. Meaning park outside until I figure out her long messages.

It would have been nice to meet management that seemed absent after check in. But we had a very comfortable stay and breakfast is always a bonus notwithstanding all the great options in town.

The owner was super friendly and help us with a surprize for our friend. Thank you.

Lovely guesthouse with great mountain views. Nice garden and comfortable rooms with nice furniture.

The small bit of gravel road to the gate is a bit bumpy.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The breakfast offered everything we needed and more. We stayed on the ground floor with direct access to a beautifully kept garden which was a real highlight. The views from the upper floor, especially from the balcony where breakfast is served, are serene and absolutely stunning. The friendly dogs were a lovely bonus and kept our son happily entertained. The only small thing to note is that the property is quite acoustically open, so sounds do carry more easily than expected. It didn’t take away from our overall experience but it’s something to be aware of.

The breakfast was very delicious , you had options to choose what you like and did not like, breakfast came with side fruits yogurts , juices , coffee abd tea , also got a little sweet treat .

Nothing could have been better , the staff were friendly and helpful , the rooms were clean and cozy , breakfast was fabulous , I would not have changed a thing .

The dirt road travelling to your facility. We travelled with motorcycles.

Staff. The stall at Ash River welcomed us so nice, as they say first impressions last. That made our stay perfect because we knew we were in good hands.

Convenient location within walking distance of the town square. Comfortable beds with good quality bed linen and more than enough cushions. Crockery is available for any brought home meals and water always available from a water cooler. Magnificent view from the deck where breakfast is served if weather allows. Our room had a sliding door that opened onto the deck. A comfortable shared lounge is available as well as a small library. Safe parking behind an electric gate. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a very nice stay. We will definitely be back.

Would have preferred the cupboard not to be open or not be visible from the deck. A suggestion would also be to have one extra shelf in the bathroom. These did not make our stay any less pleasurable.

Bei Ankunft war trotz check in time niemand da oder telefonisch erreichbar. Die Eigentümerin hat sich um nichts gekümmert. Im Zimmer war der WC Deckel so lose, dass er ständig in den Rücken fiel. Der Föhn, den ich auf Nachfrage bekam, hatte einen europ. Stecker. Adapter Fehlanzeige. Die Frühstück cerealien waren alt. Am zweiten Tag mussten wir allem hinterherlaufen. Wasser für Tee wurde erst auf Nachfrage lieblos im Wasserkocher hingestellt. Die Eier am 2. Tag waren alt und schmeckten muffig. Wir konnten sie nicht essen. Insgesamt hatte man das Gefühl zu stören statt willkommen zu sein. Nie mehr wieder.

I spoke to the owner of the place, she was not a friendly person to interact with. Firstly there was confusion about the initial booking. What i had booked for versus what i got. She claimed what i got is what i paid for as all the rooms are the same. I paid for a delux room and a standard room which is different prices but i received two of the same rooms. So for me that is false advertising to say the least. Other than that the staff was friendly but you could tell they are limited in terms of what they are allowed to say or confirm. Everything i needed clarity on , the response i got was speak to the owner or call the owner.

Breakfast was not amazing only one slice of toast and teaspoon of mushroom accomodation have cockroaches and dirty linen

The extractor fans in the bathroom felt as if they are blowing cold air, quite uncomfortable in the cold. A small heater in the room would be a bonus

Was at the venue for 5 days, breakfast menu doesn't change and not accommodating for various dietary needs. The venue is listed as no pets allowed but there are 3 dogs in the venue that run around which is not nice for people with phobia. Sometimes they are lingering under tables during breakfast

The lovely tastefully decorated and comfortable accomodation. Stunning views. Lovely breakfast. Friendly owners. Can't fault a thing. Highly recommended. Ps. A low vehicle may struggle on the gravel road to the lodge. A short distance but could be challenging.

Dog poop on the lawn, mattress felt old and lacked support. Venue pu is the breakfast as being a great breakfast... not the case. Onions and mushrooms were bland. Asked for soft eggs, got hard fried... twice.

The rooms are a good size and have everything you need. They provide a great breakfast. The view of the mountains are spectacular. Very close to the town centre so you can walk.

Google maps can take you thru the township and a gravel road that isn’t in the best condition especially after it rains. Rather drive to property thru the main square.

Our stay at the guesthouse was wonderful and fully met the expectations of our entire group.

The 200m gravel road to the guesthouse need to be maintained,

i booked for some coworkers. they enjoyed the property and couldnt stop talking about the breakfast

The view

There was no variety of food for breakfast. We were given a downstairs rooms,where we were supposed to go up and down so many stairs to the dinning hall not considered about our knee or back pain problems.

A beautiful property. Lovely gardens, securely fenced and gated. Very clean and well decorated throughout. The room was perfect with a welcome drink and chocolate. Breakfast was tasty and sitting on the balcony to look at the view of the Golden Gate National Park made it that more special. Restaurants for dinner were close by.

Shower water pressure was intermittent and it took a while to work out the TV remotes as there was no instructions on how to use them.

The beds was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

We booked for 2nights but we were only provided with water for one night and they only provide you with limited coffee ingredients, and my husband and I are tea drinker. The other thing is the owner also brings dogs to the lodge and not all people are pet friendly.

Full and tasteful breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese and toast. Eggs done perfectly to request. Location: Beautiful, lush garden, exceptional mountain views and lovely veranda to relax. When chilly outdoors, the lounge was a comfy place to relax. Also walking distance from central Clarens.

The view from the breakfast terrace was stunning. Close proximity to shops and restaurants.
