Hostel was nice enough, not loads to do in Malang but the East Java tour with the hostel was amazing. Shout out to Bobbie he was the best driver!

Stayed here before our 2 day east java tour. Everything was perfect and the staff handled everything which made it even better. Couldn’t recommend this tour with Mador Hostel enough it was amazing.

I really enjoyed my stay here! I booked the 3D2N tour through the hostel and it was incredible and well organised. I stayed in this hostel the day before and day after which was perfect. It is in walking distance to the colourful village and easy to order a grab if you need it.

MADOR hostel es una muy buena opción si quieres hacer el tour del Este de Java. Nosotros lo hicimos y el equipo fue increíble. La experiencia es alucinante y todo lo que hicimos fue de 10. Sin lugar a dudas recomendaría y repetiría.

Great location if you are doing a tour with them. It’s walking distance from the train station. Simple rooms with clean common bathrooms. We did the 3-day tour with them and it was great.

It can be a bit noisy and the bed is not the most comfortable.

We stayed at MADOR in a private twin room before the East Java tour. The hostel is quite old and could use some improvements but it was very clean and staff was super friendly. We love the tour, it was 10/10!

Stayed here ahead of the 3D2N tour for convenience. It was incredibly cheap, so could not have expected much, but was still surprised by how unpleasant it was. Hostel staff were very friendly. The Mador tour drivers and guides were all amazing, this was the highlight of my Indonesia trip.

Really dirty bathrooms (This was upstairs. Those staying downstairs said everything was clean) No duvet, just a small old fleece throw. Really not pleasant common area. Not at all worth the stay even for the convenience and price, since the tour drivers will pick you up locally anyway.

Great room, spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms were super clean especially for shared. Great location, staff were so helpful in booking Khao Sok too and helped us organise onward transport too!

Staff were very slow to reply to messages but it was okay as we booked well in advance so didn’t need to rush

such wonderful staff, so helpful and well informed on the tours. the building is so nice with an upstairs chill area, lots of plants and seating spaces aswell as kitchen ware and filtered water always available. the rooms and bathroom are clean and the amenities always topped up, again such amazing staff and a lovely place to stay. the tour is also amazing! their drivers and guides are all so lovely and it was very well organised and definitely worth every penny :)

Lo barato que era y fácil de hacer check in.

Las escaleras son muy peligrosas, yo me caí. Sábanas sucias, estancias sucias y las toallas olían un poco mal. A mi amiga le picaron bastantes bichos durante la noche. El agua difícil de regular.

we had giant ants that kept coming into the room and a trial of small ants over our stuff which wasn’t ideal.

Was fine, was here for 3 hours before bromo trip. Highly recommend the trip with the hostel it was so so good

The hostel rooms had everything you need and had a nice outdoor social area. we did the tour with mador and everything was amazingly planned and the drivers/guides were lovely

Good stay at the hostel, friendly reception and good facilities and breakfast. We stayed here for the 3D2N East Java tour and it was genuinely the best tour I’ve ever done!! It was organized amazingly, everything was arranged for us, all the meals and transports were included, the guides and the drivers were all amazing!! Could not recommend it enough!

Para el precio que cuesta, el hostal está muy bien. Tiene aire acondicionado, toallas, la habitación es espaciosa...

Me hubiera gustado no tener que compartir el baño. Aunque me pareció que había pocos baños, en ningún momento tuve que esperar y casi no coincidí con nadie

Das Mador Hostel war super von der Lage, direkt in ein paar Minuten an der Zugstation. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Alles wurde mehrmals am Tag sauber gehalten, das Personal war sehr herzlich und die Guides unserer Touren waren alle tiptop! Zudem war es echt preiswert:)

Perfect for a pre East Java tour stay. Free filtered water. Room without AC and only fan was still comfortable. Comfy bed. Choice of breakfast good although it is served cold.

Bins in toilet were overflowing. Could be cleaner.

Haben über das Mador Hostel die Java Tour gebucht. War mega gut organisiert und ein richtig tolles Erlebnis. Das Personal war auch super lieb.

Die Unterkunft könnte sauberer sein und die Wände waren sehr dünn.

I had a private room, showers and bathroom were clean, breakfast was good. Nice wifi.

The receptionist was very rude. I checked in at 1:41 pm and she kept telling me that if I wanted to check in early then I should have booked the night before. I was 19 minutes early and all the rooms on the 2nd floor were already cleaned and empty. I wouldn't stay here again just because of the receptionist lady. 😞

Did the 2D1N Bromo & Ijen Tour with Mador Hostel, so stayed here for a few hours before we were picked up at 23:30PM. Good facilities to shower and catch a couple of hours sleep before some long days of travel and adventures. Staff made some good recommendations for dinner. It is very much a standard hostel setup.

The blinds on our internal window did not close property so wasn’t entirely private.

It's a great value for money. Everything like a nice bed, good AC and a clean toilet make this stay special. The staffs are friendly and always ready to help you. They also organize group tours which are also great. Recommended if you are on a budget and want a peaceful stay in Malang.

The three level bunk bed was an interesting experience but not a bad thing to be honest it was fine. There was no hot water on our floor but it was easily accessible on another floor. So no bad things really :)

We only stayed 1 night before the 3 day tour but would recommend for ease & comfort. The bed was comfortable, room was a decent size, multiple showers & toilets that were well maintained, friendly staff, free drinking water available. Definitely recommend the tour with these too they were amazing!

Good social areas both inside and out, colourful walls which gives a nice appearance. The staff are helpful and did our washing and drying in just 3 hours. We did the East Java 3D2N tour through them which was excellent and would highly recommend

No lift which can be difficult with heavy luggage but staff are happy to help

Comfy bed, showers and toilet were good, excursion was good value for money ( mount bromo) and organised by the hostel. Extremely friendly staff and really helpful with the many questions I asked. Conveniently located to many sites including a Buddhist temple rainbow city.

Required various connecting to different WiFi which was a pain until it was figured out. Due to various excursion occurring, you can be disturbed at various times during your stay. That been said, they did notify me by email.

I booked this hostel mainly because I saw online that they provide information and private car arrangements for volcano and waterfall tours, which sounded perfect for a solo female traveler. Since I was traveling from Yogyakarta, I would arrive in Malang after 10 PM, so I emailed in advance to confirm late check-in. I only made the reservation after receiving confirmation. Unfortunately, my experience upon arrival was very disappointing. The staff on duty that night was extremely impatient. My simple questions were met with disdain and eye-rolling. When I asked if I should come back the next day because it was late, he did not respond clearly but only made strange, unkind noises. In addition, there was a Chinese sign on the shower door saying “Please take off your shoes before entering the bathroom”, but it was posted upside down. I understand and respect local rules, but it would be much better if important customs or house rules were informed in advance either during booking or check-in. I always try to be polite and have no intention of disrespecting anyone. It is normal for travelers not to know every local custom. I kindly ask the staff not to treat guests with rudeness or discrimination. We came here with a positive attitude to enjoy the beautiful scenery and friendly culture of your city.

Bisa titip koper dan pakai kamar mandi sebelum check in dan sesudah check out. Kamar mandi sharing tapi bersih, terutama di lt 2 ada kamar mandi & toilet khusus wanita.

Tidak bisa early check in (harus jam 14.00). Agak berisik waktu malam, karena kamar tidak kedap dan ada yang iseng ketok pintu malam2. Servis kurang ramah untuk tamu domestik Kebetulan hanya kita berdua turis lokal, yang lain turis asing semua. Untung cuma book 1 malam.

Good location for restaurants nearby, the room was nice and bathrooms were clean. We did the 3 day 2 night Bromp/Ijen tour with Mador and could not recommend it enough. The breakfast at the hotel the morning of was great and the organisation and communication was really good throughout.
