Grand Decameron Montego Beach, A Trademark All-Inclusive Resort

Este hotel esta cerrado. Despues del huracán parte de su infraestructura quedo destruida. No solamente no me pude alojar, sino que Booking no me ayudo a reubicarme. Tuve que salir a buscar hotel de manera presencial. Nunca me llamaron. Yo los llamaba para pedirles ayuda, me hagan cortado en mas de una oportunidad. Las cosas que me ofrecían eran de menor categoría o eran alojamientos en casas de familia compartidas. Yo contrate una habitación en un Resort de 3 estrellas con bebidas y todas las comidas incluidas. En la primer línea del mar. Me ofrecían alojamientos arriba de colinas y a 1000 metros de la playa. La mayoría de las playas en Montego bay para ingresar hay que pagar un arancel. Eso los operadores turísticos no lo saben. Te ofrecen cualquier cosa. Total, da lo mismo todo. Ahora recibo un mail diciéndome que intentaron ayudarme (?) Jamás se comunicaron conmigo Las cosas que me ofrecían para reubicarme eran horribles. Muy por debajo del estándar de calidad. Con pésimas puntuaciones. Zonas peligrosas o lejanas. Voy a iniciar acciones legales. Realmente me cansaron. No contraten este hotel. Ni a la cadena Decameron. Booking fue una gran decepción. Atencion al cliente, los operadores, no entienden nada Y me querían conformar enviándome a cualquier lado. No entienden de zonas ni de alojamientos. Falta mucho entrenamiento.

I loved the beach and the ground.

Found out when I got there that they don’t put wash cloths in the rooms anymore. Sometimes the food wasn’t good at the buffet.There was no hot water for the last two days and the phone in the room wasn’t working. Told them about the phone but no one came to fix it. Stayed here before and it was much better then. Don’t know what happened

Checked in Sunday afternoon Oct 19 for three nights. All 3 meals on Tuesday were delicious and delightful! Breakfast the Wednesday morning was amazing as well. The fine dining was amazing out by the beach. The staff were polite and always greeted me daily and willing to offer assistance if needed. Bottled water at check-in desk was nice but they ran out too often (or limiting distribution). Rooms clean and spacious. Bed very comfy on 5th floor. View of beach spectacular! Life guards adequate. Alcohol in fridge in room very nice touch! Complementary water in room very nice! Nice facilities like the beach and building and rooms.

Not enough breakfast options. The eggs smelled raw and nearly everything had pork in it and dairy (lactose intolerant). Meal options limited and mostly catered to non-black guests except for Tuesday the chef was the bomb! Enjoyed one night of entertainment from a very talented black man singing R&B but nothing more the other nights (inadequate). That talented fellow should have been allowed to do his karaoke nightly so guests could bring their love ones onto the floor to dance. White guests could walk into cafeteria to dine for a meal and we're not consistently asked to book in with room number. However, nonwhite guests had to absolutely book in first before they could take a seat for their meals. Because I was lactose intolerant practically every meal sent me to the washroom! Even when I drank the water served or had juices from the fountain, these waters/fluids sent me to washroom constantly. I must have lost 2 inches off waist from the frequent washroom visits after a meal and after consuming no bottled fluids in cafeteria. Couldn't find parking had to wait 50 mins then a parking staff helped. More security guard staff needs to be visible. Bathrooms by the cafeteria the floor always wet and messy. The toilet seats are always shifting once seated on them they need to be screwed down tightly. Very uncomfortable!

The staff was kind and friendly.

I paid for two rooms.....despite categorically claiming just the two of us will be travelling and needed only one room.

The staff was wonderful, not to mention the food they catered for all it was not oily but just right . The rooms and facilities were very clean. Entertainment was up .

two days of no beach towels requested when booked to have high room that looked over the beach. When I arrived, the room1226 was given which overlooks rooftop of kitchen and limited ocean view. went right away and asked for transfer. Unfortunately I could not be accommodated. This limited any enjoyment on the deck, which I was looking for. The room could use some maintenance.

Breakfast was good, room had a good and well placed number of outlets.... nice enetrtainment area. Staff were friendly and helpful...very responsive and anticipated needs.

Bathrooms need a bit more upgrading (Bathtub?) and no wash cloth? Dinner was ok...getting info especially on restaurants was limited...online and in documentation. Having to Park over at Cornwall is accomodating but not convenient. Concert went on loudly and late. No elevatior???? one can be added as an extension. I am an Architect can design for you.

Very easy Beach access. After dark non-stop music Food was ok.

Well the rooms need upgrading, no doors on the wardrobe wall lamps needs replacing also ceiling fan needs replacing, bathroom needs full overall apart from that good size room

Room run down and dirty,, housekeeping didn't clean room.for the 4 nights we were there. Beach chairs old dirty and broken.the beach wasnt attractive . the Grill didn't have much choice for food. The staff unframd stare at Guest especially in the dinning room. The Spa didn't even look inviting from outside.

The whole scenery was good, I enjoyed myself.

I really needed a cot and none wasn’t available

The view of the mountains in the distance is nice, and it’s pretty cool watching planes come in. The lifeguards are friendly and easy to talk to, the waitresses are nice, and sitting on the sand with that distant view can be peaceful. One major thing I can say is the entertainment at night is something to look forward to; honestly, it feels like that’s the only thing this hotel really puts effort into.

The AC is a mess; broken, moldy, with paper shoved inside just to force the air to blow straight. I’d recommend bringing a Lysol spray just to use on the vents before turning it on (if it even works). The fins are busted too. The ocean view is blocked by trees in some rooms, the bathtubs are peeling like they were painted over, and the lamp shades are dusty, old, and falling apart. Now I understand why it costs less than other hotels, but it’s still your hard-earned money and if you value it, go elsewhere.

Best food ever. Great kitchen staff. Most of the servers were friendly. Checking staff did not smile once. Orin, the bellman was warm and helpful.

Room had mole. Bathroom was leaking. shower was backing up. most of the staff look angry.

Location, beaches, all inclusive food and drink

The rooms were really poor in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Bathrooms definitely need to be revamped and air conditioning in poor state. Rooms felt dilapidated. Did not pay the same rate which I thought I would pay as per booking.com reservation - I was told that booking.com did not release payment. When I queried the amount as being more expensive than my reservation in booking.com I was told that this is the amount I must pay. Elevator does not work so had to walk four flights of stairs with luggage.

The fact that we were 3 minutes from the airport. Only the food in the restaurants were good and nothing they brought up to us was edible as it was all cold. Some of the staff were extremely nice to us in somewhat extremely disrespectful.

The communication was poor from the beginning. The management team walked around with terrible attitudes they didn't even smile at the guess. On the day we arrived there was no hot water and what water we had came out as a trickle. There was damaged to the balcony window and doors. There wes a dead lizard in our room next to the broken bolcony window were there was a hole. No activities for the children were being run. Before the hurricane hit on the Saturday evening they started closing down facilities such as the spa, the gym, the bars, the volleyball pitch, the umbrellas and the seating on the beach without telling us what was going on. On Sunday evening they had a meeting which i only learnt of because i was passing the restaurant. As i said the commincation was extremely poor. They had no contingency plan. They told us to stay in our hotels rooms, barricade the windows with our beds or they would move us to the National convention centre (where there was a hurricane disaster shelter which was 20 minutes away). On the Sunday we had our last meal in the restaurant early and then we got shipped to our rooms. We were not allowed to take a substantial alcohol to our rooms so it was just one glass per person. Basin a cold sandwich up with tea and a few other items like fruits which had stale bread for a snack during Sunday evening. the start of the bad weather on the Monday they slipped letters underneath the doors which got wet and which was not good. On Monday I had to get them to drill our Windows back in because they were being blown out by the winds of the hurricane. They didn't tell us that the power would go that the water would go that the TV would go that the fans would go that literally will be in a darker moon for most of the hurricane. However they did say to keep our batteries of our computers laptop and power banks charged. They didn't say that we could come down for tea during a hurricane because the tea area was still open.

The lack of hot water in the room and poor ventilation. Causing even the bedding to be wet. The day after the hurricane. There was no water to bathe or even brush my teeth. No drinking water in the room. No fresh towels or bedding. Even after helping with the cleaning up of the hotel and the beach. The lack of leadership after the hurricane was hard to watch. Even before the hurricane never mind after. No contingency plan for paying guests and when asked for a refund to be told to contact head office. Left me speechless. I can say I’ve been left traumatised my experience at this hotel. Enter this place at your peril.. buyer beware!

Check in..4flights of stairs with luggage. Staff expected to carry??? The pools....not available not heated....a hot tub that is beside a restaurant.

Ik was hier tijdens orkaan Melissa. Management en staf heeft ervoor gezorgd dat iedereen veilig was en bleef, er was een uitstekend plan en goede communicatie. Het eten was al voortreffelijk en ook tijdens de storm kregen we uitstekende en volledige maaltijden op de kamer. Ik heb diep respect voor de manier waarop er voor ons is gezorgd zodat we ons veilig bleven voelen en dat terwijl er voor de meeste personeelsleden ook veel onzekerheid was over hun eigen prive situatie. Na de orkaan werd er hard gewerkt om alles opgeruimd en werkend te krijgen. Ben enorm dankbaar voor hun gastvrijheid. Ik hoop dat bij her-opening mensen hier snel zullen boeken!

I loved the customer service at the front desk and the staff was excellent.

I liked everything.

It was value for money for the 2 nights I stayed there. The food was decent but was also hit or miss.

The water from the shower was cold. I had to take cold showers for the duration of my stay. The phone wasn’t working in the room. There isn’t a lift in the building or maybe it wasn’t working. Poor hygiene when it came to handling food. I also found plastic in my food.

The eggs taste fresh and raw, pan cake was good.

The floors in the room need to clean properly, need to put a toilet brush in the bathroom, need bigger soaps in bathroom and iron board.

We came in from Canada arrive at the hotel after 4in the evening and we didn't get a room until after 6 that's evening and the room was next to the roadside there was no hot water and the room was not up to standard

We didn't like that the room was right by the roadside and the room wasn't up to standard the was no hot water I complained about not feeling safe and was told there was nothing they could do and not only that while at the front desk checking in the supervisor told the person that was doing my check in to stop and check in some other guest with was very very disrespectful and rude the customer service was very poor

I came in all the way from Canada I checked in with my Canadian passport but because I'm black the treatment was different from how I see the whites and light-skin people getting better customers service half way through my check in the supervisor to the young lady to stop checking me in and to check in some other guests i would never recommend this hotel

I arrive from Canada to the property and the first experience was bad whiles checking at the front desk the supervisor to the person to stop my check and check i some other guess very very poor and disrespectful customer service

I was given a room next to the roadside side there was hot water and the room was not clean properly I didn't feel safe I made a complain and I was told that they couldn't relocate me until the next day even thou I stated my concern about not feeling safe next to the roadside

Bartender at the lobby bar on labour day who started at 10am he was exceptional and professional.

The TV in the room was a headache and the was limited towels, no amenities only 1 bottle of water for the room. Internet was not working. The first thing was the smell as we entered the room my thoughts were 🤮 YUCK. Food needs work and the dining service was poor.

El área de playa excelente

La mala atencion al cliente del área jerk y habian muchas hormigas grandes y pequenas en el cuarto. Tampoco me dejaron pedir un servicio alternativo de transaporte de uber o indrive dentro del hotel tuve que salir con mi equipaje afuera de la calle no cuidan la comodidad del cliente

The location very near to the Airport. The Hotel is Adult and elderly friendly. The Staff look after you especially Tevin Campbell the Bellman. He does his job with a smile please give him a big bonus.

The water facility it appears there is a drainage problem. Blocked sink and WC not flushing. The cleaner for public toilet is not wise. The toilets are empty when I went in and used it she came in behind me waited and when I finished she immediately went in to clean it !why not clean the other toilets? Very rude . This was on the 20th October.

Kitchen staff wasn't nice

Check in was easy and the staff bent over backwards to make the anniversary special. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

My shower had no head , it was more like a pipe and there wasn't enough towels when we went to the beach on the last day of our visit. We didnt get any wash cloths in the bath room.

I like the beach it was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room was ok apart from the bathroom needs to be modernized it was comfortable. Entertainment was good we enjoyed our stay.

Can not fault the place these went above and beyond and will most definitely be back beautiful place clean fresh and most importantly very friendly also disabilitiy friendly very welcoming and food was 👌entertainment spot on highly recommend this place

Not a thing

The nightly live entertainment is an added bonus. The main lobby and the entire establishment offer outstanding customer service. Clean linens, a large bedroom with a view of the beach, and first-rate housekeepers who go above and beyond to make us comfortable were all included. The beach grill complemented and provided refreshment for several hours after the buffet closed, and the food at the buffet was excellent. The bars, of course, had a large selection of drinks.

The room's refrigerator was empty and not stocked with water and juice. There were broken tiles in the bathroom under the sink, stained tiles in the bedroom, and a tattered bathroom door that needed to be replaced/repaired. Although there was an iron, there was no board. Though more variety is needed, the cuisine was delicious. Although it is listed as a non-smoking resort, my dining was disturbed by the obvious smoking of a guest. Employees ignored this act and never bothered to provide direction for the person to desist of move away from the main public area.

No hay mucha variedad de comida y también algunos empleados trabajan como si estuvieran forzados. Les falta más comunicación con los visitantes más empatía pero note que muchos de ellos cambian su actitud al instante que le das propina. Eso está mal 👍

A diferencia de muchos comentarios, un resort genial, su personal maravilloso, amable y gentil. Hotel divertido, playas hermosas y comida deliciosa... Actividades divertidas! Perfecto para volver a esta maravillosa isla.

Breakfast was good. The staffs were excellent 👌 I was sitting by myself at the buffet and a staff in red (short and dark man) shirt saw me and came to me with another white shirt staff just to ask if I was okay or getting through with anything. The entertainment was very good. I got to participate in the activities and where me and my partner had won a purse. The pool was nice.

The fact that I had to wait until 24hr before I could make a reservation for the restaurant. I was only staying 1 night so I didn't get the option to book a reservation at the restaurant. The fridge in my room didn't come with any juice and because I was in the top floor I had to walk the flights of steps just to go get a drink, the phone in the room wasn't working either. The bath tub had rust on it.

No rags were provided, the TV didn't have access to streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon prime video etc, even though they were smart TVs. Wish they had a games room
