Worst breakfast in the whole entire world. Not clean. Took a shower and water was everywhere
The location and courtesy. I love that the staff left a little welcome wine and sweets for our anniversary. Thank you!

Location is good for getting to Newark, but if on second floor, you are very close to a train stop and its loud
A bit noisy, fairly dated for the cost
Convenient location, 2 min walk from PATH train into WTC. Large room with sofa bed and large King size bed. Clean room and hotel in general. Rooftop bar was amazing but busy - advised to book if you are hoping to eat here
Sliding glass bathroom door which did not close fully leaving a 2cm gap between wall and door. Breakfast selection was ok but scrambled eggs were not great.
Great location and room with some amenities
Wish the breakfast included was available until at least 10am
I love the location and the beautiful view…
For the rooms and the breakfast it’s very expensive. The rooms are old, and this time the room was a kind of dirty….found a hair on the couch and some garbage on the bathroom…also the blinds did not close or open properly , the cleaning staff don’t come every day and the garbage accumulated on the room… when we asked to be removed they answered that they will come the last day of our stay…. The breakfast not as good as before, and coffee on the lobby disappeared!!! So sad!!!
Breakfast buffet really good. PATH train station is next to the hotel, where it's one stop to Wod Trade Center.
Roof top access is closed
Close to the train station and ferry station.
Busy area. Very noisy. Breakfast was below average for a Hotel that is considered 4 star.

I liked everything 👍
I was double charged due to a wrong management they did when I checked in and checked out. 12 days later I'm still waiting for my refund.
Large clean room. Located right by the PATH.
Could hear rooftop music until 2am (12th floor). We were told we could get dinner until 11 but weren't told we would need reservations. Couldn't get through on the phone, always on hold. Parking. Understaffed? Check in/ if you wanted to grab a snack was always a 10/20minute wait.

the sight outside of the breakfast area was very nice to wake up to. the rooms were very clean when we arrived and we felt comfortable there.
the breakfast could have been a tiny bit better, but we were there during a busier time so it is understandable.
Nice property. Great use of a tight space. The view was incredible and the shower enormous. Only downside was parking was not on the property.

The second pull out bed was very uncomfortable, had to remind staff about the crib when we arrived 11:30 pm, certain waitstaff at the roof top hotel were not very speedy or friendly or accommodating to us presumably because we had kids. Some of them were
The position is strategic Very close to Path and the ferry Not far from Newark airport
Some confusion outside the hotel Breakfast was good but could be better In some periods prices are too high
Location
The cleaninness was not great, not many amenities, did not look as good as expected.
Staff working the breakfast was great. Quiet and good room size
Checking in was chaotic with no covered drop off in a rain storm. Expensive for city view room which felt more like a partial city view with othe building obstruction No rooftop or view of downtown NYC that wasn't thru glass.

The Hyatt House is a perfect place to stay while visiting Jersey City. It's close and walking distance to the train station to New York and right at the rail train that gives you local transportation. The view of Manhattan is breath taking. My husband and I enjoyed our awesome stay.
Très bon emplacement
Very good place to stay if you are visiting NYC and arrive at EWR. Smooth and cheap transfer from EWR. On site you have numerous food outlets very close if you prefer take-out to the room. You also have numerous restaurants available within walking distance. You have a big grocery store (Wholefood market) in walking distance. A big mall (Newport Mall) is two stops away on the HBLR which stops litteraly outside the hotel main entrance. The hotel offers a great complimentary breakfast buffet that varies somewhat from day to day, on day bacon, one day chicken sausage patties etc etc. From the breakfast area you have great views of Manhattan, Southern Hudson as well as the Statue of Liberty. Furthermore the hotel boasts a rooftop bar and restaurant that has to be considered as a hidden gem, the best views you can get of lower Manhattan! When going to manhattan you have a few options depending on your manhattan destination, the fastest way that takes you to the WTC/Ocolus is to use the PATH train that departs from across the street, you may also use PATH in the other direction (towards Newark) to transfer to the other PATH line at Grove Street or Hoboken that will take you to Manhattan 33th Street. You may also use the Ferry, the Paulus Hook ferry terminal is within a short walk from the hotel main entrance, there are numerous ferry lines that will take you to different manhattan locations, this option cost a bit more than the trains but offers great Manhattan views and a cooling breeze during hot summer days.
This was the first time staying at this hotel. I was very happy with the accommodations. The location was ideal for my purpose of traveling into the city. The city skyline view from the restaurant was a bonus! I plan on staying here again in November.

Location is unbeatable.
Staff were unfriendly and unaware of important information. The breakfast was awful! Really really terrible premade food all drenched in oil with nothing fresh- but with s great view
The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is walking distance to everything and there is parking in the garage. I would recommend The Hyatt House to anyone.
This is the worst Hyatt House I've ever seen. The room we stayed in - one bedroom king suite - was in bad shape. The bathroom door is a frosted plastic barn door, so everything you do in there is shared with anyone in the bedroom, and if you go to bed later than your partner, you either have to do everything in the bathroom in the dark or turn on the light and wake your partner. There was a used, hair-covered tissue waiting to greet us on top of the back of the sofa. The TV in the livingroom was not even connected to any inputs. It is located on the same street as the light rail. The noise of the trains and waiting passengers will keep you up late and wake you early. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Beautiful views of the city and very convenient to transportation into the city. My husband and I enjoyed the roof top bar. Highly recommend!
We stayed at the Hyatt house in New Jersey off exchange place! This hotel is so close to public transportation, has a play area for younger kids, and shops for food and coffee right next door. I want to give a huge shout out to Eddie at the front desk who was so helping in correcting an over charge issue that was accidentally made when we checked in earlier that day with a different staff member. Eddie apologized on behalf of that happening and was just awesome at getting ahold of the correct people to get this swiftly taken care of. And the whole time with a smile and cordial attitude! I also want to say that Allison, with the beautiful nails, was also so friendly and sweet. This staff is amazing and should know that! The beds were comfortable, transport awesome, play area next to hotel, breakfast could be better (not kid friendly) but there were shops around if we need something more. Loved staying here and will definitely have it in mine if we come back. Thank you all so much!
I have stayed here many times and have recommended it to many others. This past weekend, I was given a room, right under the rooftop bar where a wedding with a loud DJ was being held. The music permeated my room until 1:08 AM. After complaining to the front desk and to corporate, I was essentially told that they advertise the rooftop bar and I should know it could be noisy. As the hotel was sold out, I could do nothing to rectify the situation. This is unacceptable.
L’emplacement est juste top!

Location and views.
Our room was located right above the main lobby on floor 2, it was very loud late at night. We were unable to change rooms.
We had a wonderful stay! The hotel had a great view of NYC, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the location made it super easy to get into New York City and back. It was also very close to the cruise port in Bayonne, making it a perfect place to stay before our cruise. The hotel is in a former bank, which made the lobby really cool and unique. A special shout-out to Michelle, the GM, who was absolutely fabulous! She went above and beyond to help us find a retainer that accidentally ended up in the trash. We truly appreciated her kindness and help! We will definitely stay here again, especially before a cruise!
Location and cleanliness. Staff went above and beyond.
It’s a really nice room. Allison at check in was really nice to deal with. 5 Star service from her. She’s very informative . Thank you!
The hotel is very well located and only 2m walk to the path (1 stop away from worldtrade center), 5m to the ferry to go to Manhattan and few steps away from light train for NJ commuting. The area is very nice and has an amazing view of Manhattan. Room was a good size for a family of 4. Breakfast was included but average quality. Hotel was clean but they had problems with elevators so we always had to wait long for it. There is a discount for a parking in a building across ($27 per day) with access to EV chargers. Overall a good option when visiting New York.
Location, amenities and breakfast
Problems with the elevators. At breakfast times used the stairs to avoid pretty long waiting time. Sofa bed was not comfortable and worn out.

Room was tight. Hotel wasn't as clean as expected. One of the 2 elevators that goes to my floor wasn't working during my stay so I had to wait at least 5-20min for each trip especially in mornings
There was hvac issues in the room and the room was 87 degrees the whole night and a resolution wasn’t given even when asked for. Had to spend the whole night in a heat suffocating room. In the morning, for all the trouble we were just offered $75 worth of points for a $400 room rate where majority of our experience was just suffocation
Judith and Allyson at the front desk are absolute stars! I love staying here whenever I’m in the area
The hotel has breakfast and delicious coffee. At night you. Can have a drink at the bar on the food top. The room had a semi view of the sky line.it was. The hotel was very close to the path subway.

Very good location. Rooms are noisy because of street trains, especially lower floors facing train station. I asked in advance for a higher floor; but they were unable to comply with that requirement. You could expect more for breakfast, according to the night rate payed. Very basic. Reception personnel very friendly and goodwilling.

Tired. The roof terrace is the only area that is quality and that is to attract external customers.
Location great
This was a great hotel with the most amazing views from the rooftop. It was conviently located by the path and was only a few minutes from Manhattan. It worked perfectly visiting friends in Jersey and to still be able to be close to the city.
I’mI’m a New Yorker but was staying at the Hyatt House Jersey City for a business meeting on the July 3rd leading into July 4th weekend. Because the fireworks would be directly in front of the hotel on the Hudson, I bought family along so we could enjoy the festivities. I had very low expectations of the Hyatt House brand due to bad experiences at a Hyatt in Savannah Georgia. Upon check in representative Alison was so friendly, welcoming and just all-around professional—she totally changed my negative expectations about staying at the Hyatt House category by insuring my room and location were comfortable, getting my stay going in a positive way. Allison was just so pleasant and so professional, it really was a joy checking in on probably the busiest day of the summer. Unfortunately we had an issue with the room being less than stellar—the sofa pillows were on the floor and the room clearly wasn’t vacuumed. We called Allison at the front desk right and she moved us right away to a room that was spacious, and the bed very comfortable which really was a pleasant surprise. The linen and towel quality is very important to me and it’s rare that I don’t have complaints. That was definitely a win for the Hyatt House. As for the environment—it’s a very lovely and happening waterfront location with trendy restaurants and lots to do. The building and reception area are conversation pieces that I won’t ruin for you in the review. Hearing the light rail coming and going is a bit disturbing which is the only negative about the immediate location. On the flip side, the light rail and path train being steps away is very convenient especially if you have plans to visit New York City. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was crowded and hectic because of the big July 4 festivities with the rooftop restaurant which I believe is why the breakfast experience and food quality were an afterthought. All considered, I will definitely stay again and I already have a couple of reservations booked! If you must call to make a reservation ask for Alison, she’s truly wonderful!
Perfect location! Starbucks, food truck, playground, and deck footsteps from the hotel entrance. We had a suite as a family of 4 and plenty of space.
The entrance doors were not working automatically so we had to manually push them open. The elevators were a little slow and confusing.
Location, design, large room, breakfast area with great views, reception
Little choice on breakfast, imperfect room cleaning
Again, I wound up staying here based on reviews and award availability. This was a last minute trip based on some uncharacteristically idealistic thoughts. Anyways, the hotel is in Exchange Square, just a few minutes from the PATH Station of the same name. This makes travel into Manhattan relatively convenient, though still at the mercy of the PATH trains, which I never really understood the weekend and late night schedule. Might need to ask someone to make sure you know which train to get on. The receptionist (Elaine, was it?) was a great help, especially since after my late arrival (past 1 AM?) pointing me in the right direction to the nearest CVS to get distilled water and such. The building itself seems to be possibly repurposed into a hotel, based on the entrance, the reception area, and the layout as I had to walk in a U shape to get to my room. It did seem like I got one of the larger rooms based on location. Again, as expected, everything was much like I expected from a Hyatt House stay. Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, and the view wasn't too bad. It was relatively easy to get a proper hot shower, and there was enough space near the bed for my things (including my CPAP). The hotel does have some type of bar at the top floor. Never had the desire to go up to it, so I can't really comment on it. My reviews nowadays are short, mostly because at this point it's copy pasta from prior reviews about what things I'm looking for, and people can look back into my reviews if they want to know specifically what I prefer. I already am very picky as to what hotels I pick, so it's relatively no surprise that with very few exceptions, I have little problems with the room or the hotel - and would consider staying here again if in the area.
Good hotel with a lovely view of New York at breakfast. Lovely staff. Very helpful. Nice location on the Hudson. Nice room.
The way this was better an I expected I couldn’t express more happiness. Starting from the location which is as perfect because of the light rail and path trains right outside door with the noise level little to none. The service was great a big thank you to Allison and Trudy. They were so helpful and welcoming. Allison was a delight. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the hotel was A+. You get more value with due to the amenities like the breakfast which was amazing. Again the atmosphere of the roof top lounge and views were great. The room was spacious and beautiful. I will be back, soon.
The staff was unprofessional, and the customer service was very disappointing. I did not feel that guests were treated with care or respect. During my stay, I was spoken to in an inappropriate and discourteous manner, which made me feel unwelcome. Although I completed my two-night reservation, I decided to move to another hotel when extending my stay in New Jersey because I did not want to continue staying at this property. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I would not choose to stay here again.
We traveled to the Hyatt House to take part in the July 4th 250 Sail watch party and fireworks. The venue could not have been more perfect. It was like having front row VIP seats to everything. Everything about our stay surpassed our expectations. The rooms were spotless, the staff went above and beyond to make our time at these events to feel warm, friendly and welcoming. The location is fantastic with lots of great restaurants within walking distance, and parking AND the PATH train station were right across the street. We will definitely be back!
Convenient to public transport. Numerous food options nearby. Nice view of the Manhattan skyline from the outside or rooftop facility. The breakfast on the rooftop was great. Nice views to start off your day.
Price point is a bit high. There are better options nearby. Price didn’t really express opulence. But it is an old converted office building.
The room is very clean and the hotel is in an awesome location. It was a decent value Trudy and Allison were very nice and friendly.
The location and the access to public transportation.
None
busy hub spot, train was loud and runs all night with more stops starting around 05:00 till about 22:00 then less. staff was awesome and rooftop has good food and drink with other cheaper options very close. great views of Manhattan from the top levels.
the breakfast on the roof
Entry hall is nice but can use a refreshing
Allison at the front desk is amazing! Very attentive and solution-driven. Room was generally clean but needs some Maintenance. The hotel is centrally located which was very convenient for dining and shopping. We could not get a table at the rooftop nor was there any space at the bar for some time. Bartenders were swamped however but once you were served it was good service, drinks and food was good.
Praktisk beliggenhet.
Ubrukelige sofasenger.
We enjoyed the hot breakfast every morning before our day of touring. Our favorite thing about the hotel was where it was situated next to the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway which has a lot of seating available to intake the stunning views of the NYC skyline. Also, bonus that it is right next to the path train & ferry system to NYC.
Lesson learned the hard way. There is not a great transportation system from the hotel to catch the ferry Jersey City side to the Statue of Liberty! We would have been better off to take the path train to Battery Park in NYC & take the ferry from there.
Lovely property, very well located, with nice breakfast included.
Check in was a nightmare. Their posted check in time is 3 pm. I even confirmed in advance that our family needed the (standard) 3 pm check in time. When we arrived at 3:30 the room wasn’t ready and the lobby was filled with people waiting to check in. At 4 pm our room still wasn’t ready. I asked what the issue was and was told they were overwhelmed because every room was booked. There was no apology. I have no idea if this was a one time problem or a recurring problem every time they are fully booked.
This is a very convenient location to midtown Manhattan and the Financial District via NJ Path. The surround area is charming, with a nearby park/playground at Liberty State Park, some nice nearby restaurants, and validated parking next door to the hotel.
Elaine and Allison were the most amazing people to talk to at the front. They were so personable and kind to talk to. 100/10 stars. Great place to stay.
Location! Views!
Rooftop closing at 10:30! I could have sat longer it's amazing! Place was great
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect. We enjoyed having a beautiful view of the city and a convenient way to get across the Hudson using the path train. I want to definitely acknowledge Allison at the front desk. She was truly so kind and helpful to our family during our stay. You can tell that Allison cares about the guest experience and we appreciate her so much for that. We will return to this hotel! 10/10 for sure!
This is a great spot with a stunning view of Manhattan. However, what makes this place stand out is the welcome from the staff and in particular Judith and Allison. Both Judith and Allison and the entire reception staff cannot do enough for you. Great location, rooms spacious and a lovely relaxed vibe throughout the hotel.
Location , big room and roof top
Can be cleaner
The epitome of financialising hospitality in this dreadful place. The staff are nice enough--which is why it gets two stars, not one. You can feel the Excel that drives this purely as an asset that needs to perform a yield-maximising function. As it happens, the basics aren't in place. My door key didn't work. It took two (nice) engineers more than an hour to fix it. The toilet didn't flush--I had to open the cistern to use it. The internet is frankly appalling — roughly 5 megabits/second, about one-thirtieth of the average US broadband speed. Every corner that can be snipped off is snipped off. The black out blinds work well.
Hyatt House Jersey City is in a great location with great views of the NYC Skyline. Close to the light rail and NJ Transit Hub. Enjoyed being able to walk out the the plaza and shoreline walkway. Room was spacious and had everything you need for a short or longer stay. Definately check out the Terrace Room on the top of the hotel for stunning views.
