I liked that the hotel is near the pier and close to shops and restaurants.

For the amount of money that we paid, the cleanliness of the hotel needs improvement. In the swimming pool area, there are couches and cabanas with cushions that are dirty and ripped. There were no towels so we had to use our room towels. There was puddling near a drain, and left over food that someone left on a table.

Booking non ha risposto fino al giorno successivo abbiamo dovuto cercare da soli e ripagare un ulteriore sistemazione. Il direttore dell hotel non ci ha minimamente aiutati ha saputo solo dirci che la stanza non c era. Pessima esperienza.

Location - there was an attempted robbery and shooting on the pier on one of the evenings. Big unhoused population in the area; someone got into the lobby despite closed doors and was yelling obscenities. Water pressure in shower and sink were very low. Asked for a microwave when I booked more than a month in advance; never got one.

Zimmer und Bad waren groß und geräumig. Es gibt einen Starbucks im Hotel für ein kleines Frühstück, das ist sehr praktisch. Der Außenpool liegt im 2. Stock und ist sehr einladend.

Leider konnte man die Fenster im Zimmer nicht öffnen.

I felt the price was to high for the product

The location is excellent, very close to Santa Monica Pier. There’s also a small Target and Trader Joe’s right on the same street as the hotel, which is very convenient. Having a small Starbucks in the lobby is another nice touch.

The valet service was quite slow, as there was only one person working, which resulted in long waiting times. Check-in at the front desk also took much longer than expected. There was no bell service, so we had to handle our own luggage and take it to and from the room ourselves.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I don’t remember the front desk lady’s name but she was so friendly and helpful. We checked in Sunday afternoon and check in was super quick and easy. The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the pier and maybe around 15-20 mins walk to good restaurants, they also have target and Trader Joe’s within 5 mins of walk from the hotel.

The one thing that we didn’t like was the guests that were above us. I guess they had kids and the kids constantly were jumping and stomping the floor which we could hear as early as 7am and when we would come back from a long day of adventure we would hear that noise until 11pm. We didn’t complain about it to the front desk since we didn’t want to spoil anyone else’s vacation.

A pesar de tener la confirmación de la reserva, nos informaron que el hotel estaba completo y que no tenían ninguna reserva a mi nombre. El personal afirmó que el problema era de Booking. Me comuniqué con Booking, que intentó contactar al hotel sin obtener respuesta. Tras casi dos horas de espera, un cambio de turno en recepción y sin que nadie ofreciera una solución, tuve que buscar otro alojamiento por mi cuenta. Una experiencia muy frustrante. Más allá del origen del problema, nadie se hizo cargo y nos dejaron sin hospedaje a altas horas de la noche.

The location of this courtyard is amazing. You have access the Santa Monica Pier and so many shops and restaurants. Great family hotel. Staff is so nice and so accommodating. Highly recommend. The kids had a blast being there during the FIFA World Cup 2026 . #fifa2026

FIFA2026 - I can’t say enough good things about this Courtyard. The staff is fantastic (especially Rosa in the cafe!), rooms are cleans, amazing location, and more. My wife and I had a great stay and will definitely be coming back!

The location from the beach and pier was great. Around plenty of restaurants.

The pullout bed in the room was very uncomfortable. It sloped down so your lower body wasn’t at the same level with the rest of your body. The water pressure in the shower was horrible. The shower is so big and the pressure was so bad you freeze.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we were given a complimentary upgrade to our room - the staff has been incredibly nice!

Stayed two nights for work and had the best stay!! Great location, spacious clean rooms, and friendly staff. Aaron at the front desk was so warm and friendly and went above and beyond to get me the best room. (And he also has the best name). America at valet was also incredibly helpful and so sweet!! Hope to be back soon!

FIFA26 This hotel is strategically located in Santa Monica near the ocean, shopping, restaurants and the Metro Train. The staff are extremely helpful and professional. The facility is well maintained and easy to navigate. We are seasoned, discerning travelers who found the negative reviews unfounded. Yes, parking is expensive - as is all the parking in LA and the surrounding areas. And no, there is not an on-site restaurant other than the Starbucks bistro - which is more than enough for our wake up coffee and quick snack. There is an abundance of restaurants within short walking distance. What a wonderful stay! We certainly would stay here again when in the area.

This hotel is in downtown Santa Monica and right next to the metro rail as well as several shops and restaurants. The lobby and guest lounge looks immaculate and features a restaurant, snack pantry, business center, guest lounge with flat screen TVs, wooden shelf with decorative sculptures, artwork and books. Amenities at this hotel include gym, swimming pool, hot tub/jacuzzi, guest laundry, meeting rooms and ice dispenser. In the rooms you get a flat screen smart TV to stream Netflix, work desk with office chair, telephone, refrigerator, coffee maker, lounge chair with tiny round table, coffee maker, refrigerator, safe deposit box, ironing amenities, clothing rack, full length camera and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. My only gripe with this place is that they don’t have microwaves in the room

it was shocking to call the offering breakfast. It is ridiculous to make a meal ticket for a gas station equivalent meal as breakfast. it should have been marketed as strong. trash cans had no bags, seemed unhygienic. no water fountain or hydration stations

The staff (front desk, housekeeping, coffee shop, security) were great, professional, helpful and friendly. Location is awesome, minutes away walking to restaurants and the pier. The low rating is because their walls are paper thin. Next door rooms were loud but tolerable, but the room above us (we were 2nd floor) was unbearable for noise. Hour long stomping, furniture moving, etc around the time I was trying to sleep each night. It would stop for a bit and then start again. We had a high ceiling in our room so I’m curious whether the infrastructure is different, and inadequate. Informed the manager and they were responsive, but the people above us (2 different groups over our 4 nights there) would start up after. Not sure if it was a guest issue of the lack of sound dampening needed. I’m a light sleeper but come prepared with ear plugs and a sound machine. Nothing overcame their noise.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was spotless clean, very comfortable bed, a nice and cozy room. Would definitely come back.

Unbelievable experience we were treated poorly no reason the staff are trash the policies of the place are trash. It was the worst experience of my entire life I wish death of everyone who was there that night all pieces of trash don’t go here

The person at the front desk had a bit of difficulty immediately finding our reservation and was actually in the process of calling a different Marriott when I showed him our reservation and then he found it in the hotel’s system. Not a big deal, but first time that happened. The room itself was a good size with a large bathroom with plenty of counter space for toiletries. The room was clean and comfortable. The downside was the $65 a night valet parking and the fact that the neighborhood looks slightly worrisome at night. Note that both mornings when we needed our car, it was ready as soon as we got down – no wait time. On the last day, we did see a nearby parking area for $5, but I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable using it. All in all, considering we needed to stay within a short distance of where we were visiting – this was a pretty good hotel and I would stay here again – although hopefully without the need of a rental car next time.

Easy walk to the beach, good location. The highlight for us was the service provided by the desk staff. Valerie, Aaron and Jordan were friendly , attentive and professional and promptly accommodated all of our requests. The hotel is IMO due for a remodel and the bed was not comfortable and sheets were like sandpaper. Loved that they had Starbucks in the lobby. Rooms were adequate for a 3 star rating. I expected more from Marriott. If it weren't for the desk staff, I would rate this lower.

I was leading an agricultural study tour to California and we stayed in Santa Monica for one night (We had 9 rooms). The hotel was very clean, in a vey convenient location, close to all of the main attractions and Santa Monica Pier The staff were very welcoming and helpful Highly recommended to stay here

Awesome service and overall location. But also know that is in a heavy homeless area. It is also across the street from the train. This is great if you want to ride the train but also makes it a bit more of a homeless area. Rooms are nice--better than most any Courtyard rooms I have stayed in before.

Nothing at all. Some people had mentioned noise disturbances from the nearby Tram. Yes you could hear “something” but it was absolutely nothing to worry about or really disturbing. I would definitely stay here again.

America has been an amazing attendant. This is the second time she's taken care of my needs and always makes me feel like I'm the only customer. She always goes above and beyond with her service.

I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Santa Monica for my daughter’s 15th birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond. Everyone was so friendly. They anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. The front desk supervisor who checked us in was especially great. He made sure we knew where everything was, including the elevators (which I really appreciate since that’s often overlooked). He provided local recommendations and made sure we knew the hours for the café and pool. They recognized my daughter’s birthday. It made her feel so special The valet attendants were also super friendly and helpful every time we came and went. It’s clear that everyone here genuinely enjoys making guests feel welcome. We’ll absolutely be staying here again next time we’re in Santa Monica. Thank you to the entire team.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean, however i wish the pool was heated, it was only abour70 outside and the pool was a little too chilly to enjoy. beside that everything was cool!

Front desk gentlemen was terrible. He didn’t greet me for over 7 minutes. He wasn’t on the phone and no one was in line. It was just me standing there until I asked him if he was available to check me in. It was so disappointing and uncharacteristic for Marriott. It will definitely give me pause prior to ever booking one of their properties again.

The room was clean. The area is so dirty and unsafe. Santa Monica has changed so much. So many businesses and restaurants closed. It remained of San Francisco union Square and not in a good way. I didn’t care for the mandatory valet parking which amounts to $70.00 per day. Wow. On the positive the staff was very nice and attentive. The hotel is so close to the Santa Monica pier and the beach.

The hotel itself was fantastic, pool and jacuzzi are great and there are chairs to sit and watch the sunset over Santa Monica. Staff were very friendly and helpful! There are however, a LOT of homeless people taking and under the influence of drugs directly outside and around the hotel, which feels very uncomfortable and unsafe to be around.

Great location for accessing the metro + the pier.

Stayed w/friends for the USC vs MSU football game. It was a convenient location, close to great restaurants and the metro to easily get to and from LA Memorial Stadium. The buddy system is a must when walking around outside due to the large number of homeless people.

I liked the location of the property. The valet parking was amazing and Duncan was very friendly & helpful. The front desk staff was very nice & attentive to our needs. The lobby was very clean and I enjoyed the choices for food. The room was very spacious and clean. Liked the vicinity to Target and Trader Joe’s and the freeway. Overall, great stay and I would return.

First, I must mention this is my first time traveling in 20+ years. I chose Courtyard by Marriott based on prior experience with the brand, but much has changed since then. Prior to arrival, I was not aware valet parking was pretty much mandatory, but that's on me. I should have done better research. The room was clean, with 1 king bed, an entertainment/desk/chair area, and a bright orange settee with metal table. The bathroom had a large shower. However, the lack of a shower seat and a door that was hard to push open/closed made it impossible for me to use. With a view directly on the spa area, the curtains remained closed at all times, making us feel closed in. The bed was so uncomfortable: under the thin pillow top was an overly firm mattress that caused pain on all pressure points. The fitted bottom sheet refused to stay in place, and the pillows were not supportive. The bed frame squeaked with the slightest movement. When the nearby fitness center was in use, the noise was loud within our room. Waterman's Café had seating for only 8 people at a time, limited hours, and limited staff, who were friendly but not always efficient. Healthy choices were greatly appreciated. Pets are merely tolerated at this hotel, with no facilities for dogs except a square of mulch in the sidewalk outside the building. Overall, the hotel was conveniently located, clean, and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return for a future visit.

Staff was very friendly and hospitable. Convenient location with lots to do in the perimeter of the hotel within walking distance. Room was very clean & king bed was comfy.
