Provider-sourced guest reviews.
My single room was newly refurbished & was clean with everything required for an overnight solo stay. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The location was perfect for me
The general feel in the communal areas & corridors were slightly worn.
The room was clean, lovely food ,really nice staff could not do enough for you ..even knocked on my door and asked if I needed any more coffee, tea and milk ...saw a few reviews when I booked saying it was not clean ..I'm a owner of a cleaning business so have high standards..it was very clean 👌 Dogs are very welcome
Nothing at all
Bed were extremely soft and not so comfortable.
Lovely location. Great views and a few small restaurants/ a bar in the village. (Book up though !)
It does need modernising. However it does everything you need it too.
The hotel from the out side Was grand. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free Parking on site.
The food wasn't the best . And the room was at the rear with a window looking strait at the employees quarters and they could see in .
We have stayed many times in arrochar , being in the later years of our lives you can imagine we have traveled extensively in the uk, we were welcomed at the Loch Long Hotel from the minute we stepped into the building, we stayed in room 60 with out West highland terrier,, not the biggest room but lovely and clean , lovely view of the loch , the breakfast and evening meals were delicious, staff could not do enough for us , even going to the trouble off bringing Thistle his own sausage which he gladly whooffed down lol, I did read some off the reviews beforehand, and I really can say hand on heart this for us was a lovely week , I often wonder what people expect these days , we will definitely be back to this hotel in the future, a massive big thanks to all the staff for making our stay so nice 👍
Can't think of anything to be honest, it was very busy while we were there , lots of walkers, coach trip staying, car park can be tight , but we all seemed to fit and could get out easily enough
The location was perfect. Stunning views from the lounge bar. Great place for stop off on the way to West coast Highlands Beds very comfy
Down stairs rooms ok upstairs very tired. Cooked breakfast very poor. Continental.ok. it was as we expected and for the price it was reasonable.
Staff were very good
Fantastic location Friendly & helpful staff Good value per night Tasty food
No proper shower
The location and access to a bar and restaurant.
The staff didn’t seem to want to be there and were too busy watching videos on their phone to greet us. The room had a dripping shower that was mouldy, there was black mould throughout the bathroom. Decor was dated with scratches all over the walls.
It was quiet
The rooms are old and need updating. The towels and in need of fabric softener, the rooms needed maintenance, light fittings falling out, extraction fan falling out, mould in the fittings, cobwebs all over.
Location
Dirty room carpets , the bed was awful and the food honestly is so bad, no Scottish feel or tradition to the place either... Arrochar hotel across the road is so so much better guys in every way
We verbleven 4 nachten
One night stop over. Red the reviews before going so knew what to expect. Staff very friendly. Check in easy. Its great it has a bar on site. Spacious family room. Dog friendly
As others have mentioned parking tight. However you can park on the road from 6pm - 8am. Our room was ok but had one dead fly/bee on a towel and another on the curtain. Rooms are dated and need a freshen up. Removed linen on single bed and found duvet was stained. Shower wasn't the best but again did the job. Would we stay again- Yes it's okay for a one night stopover.
Location
Bed , pillows and bedding not comfortable. Had to ask for clean towels ( stayed a week!) No hair dryer in room. Front desk staff not overly knowledgeable of the area, when you could find one. Always seemed to run out of items on the menu.
The man on the desk was friendly and as accommodating as he could be given what he had to work with.
Parking was limited. Leakage in the corridor on ground floor, strong damp smell. Got relocated upstairs to a room with a large crack in the wall, shower tray filled quickly, toilet flush didn't work properly.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich
Alles gut
The view... this was the only thing that saved the weekend
Where do i start! Never had to write a a bad review before but this hotel does not live up to the pictures they have advertising it. The cleanliness isnt great..the carpets really needed a good hoover... the room was tiny! We paid for a room with a view. My husband JUST fitted on the bed...very old mattresses.. the toilet seat wasnt attached to the toilet so when using it the lid was just sit on your back! ( gross) Also our a TV wasnt working ( a tiny TV may i add) . The 1st night me and my hubby were out enjoying the local area so we didnt notice the TV wasnt working...the 2nd night we just wanted to chill and noticed the tv aerial was broken on the wall, went down to reception and spoke to an indian man and he really wasn't bothered.. I asked for another room and he said no he will come check the TV baring in mind the TV aerial at the wall was broken like I said. We ended up packing up and heading home a day early as that was the final straw. Also the website does not state its an Indian restaurant... personally I dont like Indian food so thank god the pub near done amazing food. Bath towels also had a smell of curry on them. Spoke to a few couples here and they said the same.If your looking for just a bed for the night this place is fine for you but couples for lovely weekend away we were under sold. Also emailing 1st before I done a review asking for a refund etc and nothing.
Nothing
It was mouldy and dirty
Service and food
The room was tiny considering it was a double room there was no place to even open a suitcase and the bathroom was also small and dated
Lovely location, friendly staff, nice room with comfortable beds. Dinner and breakfast very good. Entertainment brilliant, enjoyable evening listening to Sapphire. Looking forward to a return visit.
Saturday night entertainment. Breakfast was fine.
Shower wasn't good temperature, no soap at the sink, bed mattress wasn't great.
Location was great
Parking, felt like we needed to be back by 5pm everyday to guarantee a parking spot, or else having to park offsite.
Our rooms were upgraded to loch view and although our rooms were a corridor apart, the family feel of the hotel reassured myself and my husband and my daughter loved the freedom. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the live performer in the bar.
Parking was a bit cramped
Very friendly staff, easy-going and amenable.
The room was very small, nowhere to hang towels or place bathroom bags.
Location was only quality as a nice pub over the road that did great food.
It was dirty. The room smelt musty. The bathroom mirrors, sink and floor were filthy, the shower didn’t work which I found out in morning, there were no towels in the room, reception staff only interested in mobile phone.
Right on the loch and it’s cheap night stay
Room need updating and was staying on Saturday night but there was a singer in the bar can kept me up till it finished at 12/1
Good price. Didn't eat but food looked good, especially the curry.
Small car park for size of hotel however there is a public car park very close by. Room was basic but comfortable.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere downstairs in bar area.
Nothing major. For the value it was very good. We found the double mattress a tad hard for our liking
Great value for money given the location. We always use this hotel as a stop off point on our long journey to the highlands. Lovely being so close to the loch
We have stayed many times and never had issues but must have just been unlucky this time: The staff at the reception was confusing to talk to and wasn’t very engaging giving mixed messages about breakfast availability and where to park. The rest of the staff were lovely though. The shower in our room (111) was blocked so the basin filled up after 5 seconds of using the shower. The mattresses were also very sagged in the middle and the whole room needed a bit of a makeover (marks on walls and poorly painted over cracks/ damage on walls)
The staff were very friendly
Cleanliness of the hotel wasn’t great Beds were uncomfy Plug sockets not in use Bad smell in room
Staff werevery welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Food was amazing. Loved it.
There was nothong we didnt like.
Did the job as a place to sleep.
Dirty bedding. Many rickety stairs up to bedroom.
Murshed at the reception desk made me very welcome and I felt that nothing was too much trouble to make my stay at the hotel a very positive one.
I needed to sort out parking upon arrival as the car park was full. Murshed (on reception) sorted this out for me.
Staff were lovely, location is wonderful and superb value for money.
We had no issues, the price reflects the facilities offered
Good location
Noisy - can hear other guests so not that restful, very hot room towards top of hotel and window doesn't open much, place was damaged in places
Budget hotel in a nice location for walking.
Unfortunately I had to cut my break short by two days due to inconsiderate guests keeping me awake until 5am. Also please note that the hotel is regularly used by coach trips. I was awoken on another night by a guest putting their tv on at 4am for an early morning departure.
Room was clean bed was comfortable
Very little parking, had to book online for table. Quality of food poor. Poor choice of lager. Only one towel in for two people.
Hotel had amazing view loved the Indian curry and Nann bread was amazing . Parking was great . One member of staff was amazing very friendly made us feel important he was from New Zealand he will go far .
Bath tap would not work we asked to be fixed as my wife can get under a shower . The room was very small and not too clean . Lights kept going out in the bar and dining area . Food was really good though.
Comfortable room overlooking the Loch. Nice dinner. Staff we friendly.
Road noise in my, I needed earplugs.
Staff were lovely. Location was good.
TV could not be connected due to lack of plug. No hairdryer! Fried breakfast was cold.
Location, room,food and friendly staff.
Hot tub out of order. Should have stayed earlier in year.
we did like the view the stay, the amenities and the polite staff
maybe the wifi was a bit problem due to the climate conditions,
Staff so polite and helpful, location beautiful.
Nothing
Good location staff and food room clean and bright
No complaints
Trivsamt
All the staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. Fantastic location. Great food
Prezzo molto interessante Staff gentile Buona posizione
Location is amazing. Received an upgrade to loch view by moonshet on reception which was greatly appreciated. We got breakfast the second day and it was lovely. Everything you could need was there. Andy the staff in dining room was funny and kind and very attentive. A big shut out to all staff who were friendly.
Maybe a little attention to some repair issues in bathroom, re the ceiling light and panels on doors. Other than that, good room, great view and well worth what we paid. Look forward to going back.
Price, location, friendly staff
Faulty shower, unusable toilet seat
Didn’t have breakfast but evening meal was superb. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere about place and good that they had live musical entertainment in evening. Our room was ideal and spotless.
Whilst we had free WiFi in certain parts of hotel like our room it was intermittent. Apart from that no complaints.
It was a hotel and the price was decent.
The hotel seems to be in disrepair and needs some freshening up. Staff was not great, had to interrupt their conversation with other staff to get service, was told I need to move my car at 10:30pm even though I was told I could park where I did. No breakfast facilities. Glad it was only one night.
Personale gentile e professionale.
Fair view
The shower didn't work at all
The staff were excellent and friendly. The food was also good. The location is superb
I couldnt work out the layout, some of the hotel look tired.
It was clean.
Room very small Terrible noisy boiler sounds went on and off all night, more times on than off. Got very little sleep. Shower was cold only.
The location is so beautiful, some of the rooms must have an amazing view, however ours didn’t, but that’s not to say I was disappointed. The breakfast was fantastic, I didn’t love the potato scone so much but I loved having things I wasn’t used to on the plate. Would have enjoyed more beans. Staff were ever so helpful, seeing that it was pouring with rain and we were travelling by motorcycle they offered us a late check out to see out the rain. The drive from Arrochar to Inverary is divine and was a great taster to what was to come for the rest of our road trip.
Our bed was too soft, that’s our personal preference.
Lovely views, really affordable, friendly staff, spacious room
Nothing
Good location and nice view. Staff were also nice and polite.
The hotel is not very well maintained and is in need of significant improvement. Several lights in our room were not working, and there was visible black mould around the window seals when the windows were opened, particularly in the bathroom. The body wash dispenser was empty, and only two small bottles of shampoo were provided. There was also no Wi-Fi available in the rooms, despite this being advertised as a hotel facility. The sauna was not working either, even though it was stated as an available facility. Overall, the entire hotel is in need of a thorough deep clean and, in my opinion, would benefit from a complete refurbishment of the interior. Unfortunately, the condition of the hotel did not meet our expectations for the price paid.
Excellent location
Duvet badly soiled and left out to be changed - but was ignored & put back in the duvet cover.
Die Lage. Toller Blick aufs Wasser.
Perfect views of the loch
Parking can be a struggle some nights

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
3.5/10Multiple guests reported dirt and stains (towels with marks, biscuits/wrappers under bed), lack of housekeeping across stays, and cooking smells seeping into rooms — cleanliness is a clear weakness.
Service
8.5/10Staff are consistently described as friendly, polite and helpful; several guests highlighted personnel as a strong point despite occasional understaffing.
Location
8.5/10Many guests praised the location (loch view, convenient base for sightseeing, beautiful surroundings) — location is a major positive.
Room Quality
5.5/10Mixed reports: some rooms are nicely furnished, but others suffer from uncomfortable beds, cramped bathrooms, windows that don't open fully and general wear-and-tear.
Amenities
5/10Issues reported with amenities (hot tub not working, limited/filled parking, no regular housekeeping, shower problems) — amenities are inconsistent.
Value for Money
7/10Several guests felt the hotel offered good value and were pleasantly surprised by the price-quality ratio, though a few judged it less favorable given shortcomings.
Food and Beverage
5.5/10Breakfast and dining received mixed/negative comments (limited breakfast items, small portions, and restaurant odors affecting rooms); some guests did not use the food service.
Overall Experience
6.9/10Overall mixed experience: excellent location and friendly staff make it suitable for short stays, but cleanliness, some room issues and inconsistent amenities lower the overall impression.
