I can honestly say this was the worst stay of my entire trip to the UK. It started before check-in when the host demanded copies of the passports of every guest, including my minor child. I wasn’t comfortable sending my child’s passport details to a private host whose data security practices I know nothing about. They insisted, and we requested a refund before check-in. Unfortunately, Booking.com wasn’t very helpful during the back-and-forth. When we arrived, the property looked nothing like what we expected. The apartment was uncomfortable, poorly cleaned, and felt nothing like a home. Considering they require a £300 security deposit, I expected much higher standards. The property appears to be a large old flat that has been divided into very small rooms and marketed as studio apartments. The bathroom was tiny, outdated, and uncomfortable to use. The sofa bed constantly collapsed while sleeping, and the bedroom was so small you could barely move around. The apartment was extremely hot with poor ventilation. The fan provided was broken, and despite the listing showing air conditioning, there was no AC. During our stay, all of us were bitten by what appeared to be bugs. We developed itchy, red bites on our legs, which made the stay even more unpleasant. The neighborhood also wasn’t what we expected. If you’re familiar with rougher areas, think of parts of Baltimore or the busy Deira Market area in Dubai. The host seemed more focused on making money than on guest comfort. They also directed us to expensive parking that cost us over £27 for 24 hours. If you’re driving, use Citipark Clement Road, where we later found parking for around £7 for 24 hours. Overall, if you’re visiting London and value comfort, cleanliness, and a relaxing place to stay. The biggest issue is that this isn’t even a budget-friendly stay. For the price charged, and taking that huge deposit ,the condition and comfort were far below expectations.

Our stay at Ilford Apartments was very disappointing. The apartment was dirty, damp and extremely hot, with poor ventilation. There was also a very unpleasant smell throughout the apartment, and the overall standard of cleanliness was poor.

We tried to contact the staff several times but received little or no response. We asked if we could have an extra fan because of the heat, but we never received one. We also asked reception if the apartment could be cleaned, but we were told no — apparently the apartments are only cleaned every four days. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, and our requests were not handled properly. On top of this, there was a lot of noise and disturbance, which made the stay even less comfortable. Overall, we were very unhappy with our stay and expected a much better standard of cleanliness, service and comfort.

Es war sehr dreckig. Der Badewanne und duschrand war schimmelig. Die Bettdecken unter dem Laken hatten Urinflecken ( Fotos vorhanden). Die Unterkunft war überhitzt man konnte nicht richtig lüften es war unerträglich bei 33 grad. Die Toiletten waren ebenfalls nicht wirklich sauber als wir angekommen sind. Das Bügelbrett was zur Ausstattung gehörte war kaputt und konnte nicht geöffnet werden. Die Unterkunft ist deutlich überteuert für so ein schlechtes Apartment. Der Gasherd lässt sich auch nur mit Unterstützung anschalten (eine Platte ging garnicht). Die Unterkunft wurde kein einziges mal in den gesamten 7 Tagen geputzt oder gesaugt. Der Mitarbeiter war nur ein einziges mal vor Ort. Sehr laute Umgebung

Location is lovely. The staff is good.

During our stay the temperature in London touched 38c. The apartment was uncomfortably hot but there were only fans provided. If not ACs a couple of decent coolers are needed for health and safety reasons. Apartment and appliances could be more cleaner.

I liked the view from the flat, Everything was accessible like the train station , shopping area,good restaurants around ,beauty parlour too . Amazing place to stay whenever your in London for sure .

I think when you come for the first time as a guest ,just direct us from the station ,saying the apartment is closer to Primark Ilford so we could check on GPS or Lidl Ilford would be great landmarks to get there after travelling by train .

You get what you pay for. It's a little worn and it was very hot outside so it was very hot inside too. One pillow very soft, the other rock hard🙂

There were cockroaches in my room. Also we were told that the studio comes with Washing machine and drier however it was not in the room. THe property had a weird stink. And whenever we tried to get help it was too inconvenient. the whole experience was below expectations and not worth the money we paid The only good experience was the person on the phone Sham who was very helpful

Worst stay ever. There wss no one at the reception entire day to attend. Rooms had cockroaches. Dustbin was broken. Toaster had rust stains so couldnt use. No fan I was promised a washing machine and the tumble dryer which was the main reason to book the apartment. Both not available...

Not good did not get what they advertised

No parking. Even in booking.com its says there is parking with this property

The apartment was great not as spacious as 21b but it had two rooms and two bathrooms.

There was only one wardrobe in the apartment so there was nowhere to hang my dresses and had to use the living room door. If you removed the chest of draws a small wardrobe could be put in.

Location and the staff were superb. It was very good for our 2+2 family. It was second time we stayed in Ilford with ASK Lettings although in different locations and I may surely recommend both the places.

Some extra furniture would be nice to have. Only one bedside table only at one side of double bed is not enough though there is a space for second. Some cheap coat rack standing in the hall would also be nice. It is quite noisy from the street in nights but luckily windows are doing the job.

Very useful location on the Elizabeth line for travel into london, and lots of shops/facilities nearby.

Very large deposit for the location - I can understand why, but 300 is a lot for a place like this and considering the amount paid. The actual room had no real ventilation and this made it very warm and stuffy. Using fans was a must - luckily the accommodation had 2, but there was no way to cool the location down otherwise. Staff weren't the friendliest - the receptionist that met me was very curt and rang someone on the phone mid checkin to talk to them. When I went downstairs to ask a question, the piece of paper with all of my information on it had been left on the counter and could have quite easily been taken.

This is my 2nd time staying in the same location..overall I would come back… my booking for 1 apparent for 2 bedrooms was not available, something that I Was not expecting, but they were kind enough to provide 2 apartments beside each other.

More towels and fans available in each room, during the week we stayed Uk had the heat wave and it was unbearable to stay without a fan.

The room provided was not as described in their description, which caused a major inconvenience which did not get rectified. Provided no compensation for the fault. We booked a room which was described to have 2 single beds in the living room, with a sofa bed and a single bed in the living room. However, there was only a double bed set up with one duvet set, created using 2 single beds joined together. (So even if we separated the beds, we were down a bed sheet and duvet etc. which could not be provided until the following day) And the living room only had a very uncomfortable sofa bed, and of which was also was missing the single bed as described in their description at the time of us booking. We were left misled and had to continue our stay in discomfort. And the staff was not very friendly or too helpful either, such as Gilbert.

Taking £300 deposit. The sofa bed was impossible to sleep on as a wood panel stuck up. The rooms were constantly hot and overheated. The fans did not help much. No parking and no attempt by any of the staff to locate parking. It was very difficult to drop off our stuff and collect when we left because there were double red lines in front of the building. There was a constant smell of weed in the building. The instructions for the keys were really poor.

Stayed there a few times now. Always been a good stay. Staff are friendly, apartments are always clean. Location is perfect for us with our kids. Parking round the corner too.

Lifts are sometimes slow but that’s jsut being really picky.

This raised serious concerns for us, as it made us suspect that there may be hidden cameras inside the apartment, which would be a serious violation of privacy and completely illegal. We clearly informed the owner that we would leave within 5 minutes, but he refused to listen. Instead, he suddenly arrived at the apartment himself, acted aggressively, and used extremely offensive language, saying: “What the f* here?”** Without any discussion or solution, he forced us to leave immediately, leaving us with no choice but to leave the apartment along with our guest. This experience was humiliating, stressful, and unacceptable. ⚠️ I strongly warn others to avoid this apartment and do not recommend booking it.

The apartment was great clean and had all the amenities I required.

The lift needs some TLC. Your pictures of the rooms can be deceptive in that pictures for the studio should be with all studio pictures and one bed appartment should be together and so on. So there is no confusion. The beds could have been bigger a bit small but comfy

Everything, I’ve never been so disrespected by a team like the one that manages this accommodation! By far, the worst hosting is the staff I’ve been able to meet in my life in my almost 20 years travelling! Not to mention that I was harmed by £600. Run away from this accommodation, run away! extremely rude people!

Very sparse amenities, just one towel each and lukewarm water. They make a big thing about leaving things clean but provide no dishcloths, tea towels etc. Every time we tried to use the combination microwave it blew a fuse and put us in complete darkness. Heavens knows what would have happened if the guy on duty had gone home which we think he had but he had been called back to change the bed arrangement. We had booked a twin room but on arrival it was a double. To start with the guy was very helpful but we asked him three times for the bed to be changed. In the end we had to ring the management company to get it done. They took a £300 deposit, more than a little excessive I would say for a one night stay. We were told it would be returned by Monday, it took until the Friday.

Location is near to all shops, restaurants and its in center. Near to bus stations. Reception and all staff are so kind and welcoming. As women staying alone in london and this apartment, I feel really safe. So clean and has everything to feel yourself comfortable like your home.

Just pillows were not comfortable

I strongly recommend not booking this place. We booked 3 triple rooms and 1 quadruple room, all with actual beds. When we arrived in London, I tried calling several times to ask about late check-in because we had an unexpected issue in the afternoon. No answer at all. We got there around 5:40 PM and even though it said the “reception” was open until 6:00 PM, there was nobody there. We had to wait about 10 minutes before someone finally showed up. They asked for a £500 deposit, even though the email clearly stated £300. Of course I refused and only paid the £300 that was agreed. Instead of what we booked, we were given 2 triple rooms (2 beds + 1 sofa bed), 1 double room with a double bed, and 1 “quintuple” with 4 single beds and 1 sofa bed. There was a strong smell of spices in all the apartments and throughout the whole building. The level of dirt was unacceptable (see photos of the sinks when we arrived), the apartment floors were sticky in several spots.. Showers were a nightmare, as freezing cold water would randomly come out even when set to hot. Locking the doors was also very inconvenient, as you could either lock them from the inside or from the outside with a key. So if people from the same apartment came back at different times, managing the key became really annoying. There’s a main street behind the property, the nearest Underground station is more than a 10 minute walk away, the nearest Bus Station is a 2 minute walk away.

The location was good as was just round the corner from Ilford high street and station. .

However the double lines put front made it hard for getting in and out of ubers, as they had to park across the street which was hard when crossing a busy road with young children/bags. There also could have been some teabags or coffee sachets on offer to help self too.
