There were no safety barriers on the top bunks which is a safety issue and a legal requirement to have

The aircon being on timer meant you had no control over your dorm; and with six people in small room through the night it became far too hot. The sleep was uncomfortable.

Purtroppo le pareti sono decisamente sottili quindi si sente ogni minimo movimento, e a volte anche lo scarico del bagno che potrebbe risultare fastidioso considerando che continua praticamente tutta la notte

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Minulla ei ole paljon kokemusta hostelleista, mutta tämän perusteella se on jatkossakin vaihtoehto hotellille. Erittäin siisti paikka ja sijainti täydellinen!
Majotuin 2 yötä 6hlö naisten huoneessa. Huone oli yöllä yllättävän valoisa, jos joku piti omaa, sängyn päädyssä olevaa valoa päällä, vaikka verhot olivatkin kiinni. Eli unimaski on suositeltavaa olla mukana! Samoin korvatulpat, koska ilmastointilaite oli yllättävän äänekäs.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Swoboda pobytu, w cenie było śniadanie, mogłem zostać dłużej na miejscu po wymeldowaniu. Jeśli chodzi o hostelowe standardy to powyżej oczekiwań.
Skrytki (lockers) na swoje rzeczy mało bezpieczne. Mechanizm zamykający luźno osadzony w szafkach, ale po zgłoszeniu w recepcji zawsze otrzymamy pomoc, więc to nie obniża mojej oceny.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026Los techos de las habitaciones son muy altos y los camarotes son altos, por lo que es espacioso y cada cama tiene unas cortinas que dan privacidad. La luz de la habitación es con temporizador y en cada cama hay una luz personal lo que encontré muy cómodo y no lo había visto en otros hostales
El desayuno es bastante simple y los casilleros para las cosas son muy chicos.

The owner Charlotte was super nice, she is super friendly and guides you about Bologna, she even organized dinner on some nights and super interested with guests. I even made some friends there! If you are planning to come Bologna, make sure to come to this hostel!

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Un vrai mélange des générations et une ambiance qui nous a rappelé nos années « routard », mais avec le confort en plus ! 😊 Le concept est vraiment réussi : associer des chambres doubles et triples tout confort avec des dortoirs crée une ambiance conviviale et permet à tout le monde de s’y retrouver. Notre chambre était très propre, confortable et parfaitement équipée. L’accueil est excellent, chaleureux et sympathique. Il y a également un parking juste à proximité avec pas mal de places, même s’il est payant. Et mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner, vraiment très très bien, complet et de qualité. Une très belle adresse à Bologne, conviviale, confortable et avec une vraie personnalité. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et nous y reviendrons avec plaisir !

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026I had a wonderful five-night stay at Dopa Hostel in Bologna. The hostel is welcoming, well located and especially great for solo travellers looking to meet new people. The beds were easily the best I have ever had in a hostel. They were incredibly comfortable and made such a difference after long days exploring the city. The breakfast was also amazing, with a great selection and everything needed for a good start to the day. My favourite part of the experience was the hostel’s shared dinners. Guests can join a communal meal, which is a fantastic way to meet travellers from all over the world, share stories and spend the evening together. It created a warm and social atmosphere without ever feeling forced. The location is another major advantage. The hostel is close to everything you need, making it easy to explore Bologna on foot and enjoy everything the city has to offer. The only downside is that there is not a particularly good workspace for digital nomads. If you need a quiet and comfortable place to work for several hours, you may need to find another option nearby. Overall, Dopa Hostel is a comfortable, social and well-located place to stay. With its exceptional beds, delicious breakfast and memorable communal dinners, it is an excellent choice for solo travellers. I thoroughly enjoyed my five nights there and would happily stay again.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026El personal és un encant, molt amable. Les instal·lacions estan molt bé, té cuina per si te vols fer alguna cosa de menjar. L'habitació de 8 llits ample, i el llit còmode. Els banys són amplis i ben equipats, l'única cosa és que, per la delicadesa dels i les hostes, no es manté nét però el personal ho intenta. Les tovalloles valen 2€, un preu més que raonable. L'esmorzar és senzill però per començar el dia està molt bé.la situació és ideal, prop del centre i a 20min caminant de l'estació que no es fa gens passat. Ah! Té aire acondicionat! Important per la calor que feia.

Room doors could be improved to make less noise when opened, eg going keyless (without beep, please!). It disrupted my sleep a couple times. Please add a small table or place to keep your stuff while in the bathroom! My room key fell from the basin into the bin at some point, had to fish it from there, not pleasant :-|
