Amazing accommodation, this place surprised me. The meals they provided were the best I had on my entire trip.

It was tranquil and cool after a long drive and a welcoming pause with plenty of wide open spaces to relax.

Beddings/sheets had stains all over. The toilet doesn’t flush properly and takes forever to fill again.

The property is very clean and spacious with a beautiful garden and pool area to relax.

Beautiful place with a nice garden to chill and small pool to refresh. The staff is super friendly and helped us with any requests.

It was good but not worth R1900. There were no bath towels and there were small bugs in the bed. We remade everything and didn’t even shower properly as there was hair inside the shower that was not ours.

The Shower Head needs attention and a good clean … water sprayed on the ceiling from the screw attachment & water sprayed everywhere else as well.

We didnt have food at the premises, but the staff were all very friendly and the room was beautiful and clean.

If you advertise a restaurant with opening and closing times you should at least have a restaurant.

Well located and convenient we always book Matoppo to rest on our travel adventures .

Beds are very hard

firstly when i called them they said they fully book, yet on booking.com app it showed 2 rooms left, secondly the room i got was nowhere near the description or photos posted by them- the cupboard door , broken ( i took picture of it) the aircon broken and extremely noisy - to such extend that you cannot use it. I got room 17, Im a non smoker , but the guest staying around me were all sitting outside smoking and obviously the smoke travelled into my room , which wasnt nice at all, the shower had mould on the floor . Ive stayed in far better places in the country for the same amount.

I waited nearly 10 minutes when I arrived for someone to open the entrance gate. Dinner was very average, there was only a selection of 4 cold drinks available, shortage of staff, manager was very newly employed. Soap dispenser in shower was broken.

It was freezing cold and there was not heating system the security guard tried to bring a heater but it was too small for the big room.

The room we got was not the room we booked and not the one shown in the app. We got the same standard room we booked a few years ago when we stayed there but paid for a luxury room. We tried to order dinner and we were told we missed the cut off yet no one communicated the cut off time with us. Just not a pleasant experience. We were returning for the second time and we were hoping we would get the same experience or better. Facilities are also due for an upgrade. Furnishings outdated.

When i arrived my book in was OK. told my room was vat the back. found my parking but could not find my room. went back to reception who took me to my room, i asked where was the room number displayed. reply 'there isn't one. In my search that was not the only room not displaying a number. I had to ask for the internet security code. In my room I could not connect. with laptop in hand I returned to reception. the clerk connected me. I returned to my room but still could not connect. I gave up. this is not the first time I have stayed at this establishment. the last time i stayed over I was greeted with ' Hello Mister Prowse welcome back'

Have stayed at Matoppo several times, always good service and comfortable accommodation, in a convenient location for an overnight stop

The grounds and gardens

Invasive ants that bite, kamikaze vampire mosquitoes, lawns with thorns.... not practical for small and short dogs and inconsideratly noisy guests Shower drains were blocked, no soap and 1 bottle of water for 3 guests. The worst... was EFF delegates who took over the garden tables in the evening in front of rooms 3 to 9 thinking everyone needed to share in their ideology... After that party, the after party began where they brought in additional entertainment (use your own imagination).... fortunately they gave up around midnight. The next morning, you could see the whole place was littered with the remains of that gathering. It's the 2nd time we've had to do a stop over in beaufort west (1st time was a disaster) but we chose Matoppo Inn based on latest reviews.... maybe it was just our luck to experience what we did? but it is the last time Beaufort West will ever see us. Good riddance to both.

We booked online and was informed on arrival they full and had to move to the place next door.We didnt stay at Matoppo Inn.This is the second time when booking on your site that i book a place,pay for it and is than informed another person booked before us and its full I will not book with u again uless you rectify this inconvenience.

The staff was accomodating with our late arrival and gave us a complimentary breakfast (which was delicious!) to make up for the room discrepancy. .

I booked and paid for 4 adults and 2 children, and our room was not prepared. The sleeper couch was not made, and no bedding was provided for it either. There were only 2 large towels in the bathroom, which we had to share amongst the 6 of us. The basin tap spraying water out in all directions, leaving you sopping wet after an attempt to brush teeth or wash your hands. The ceiling fan seemed loose and was wobbling and swinging and making a horrible sound when it was on, so we could not leave it on during the night. There was only 1 small triangular milk thing in the fridge, so we could not prepare tea or coffee. No staff member was available to rectify any of these problems, so we had to spend the night in those conditions.

Matoppo INN has exceptional standards when it comes to cleanliness. Just a bit dusty under the beds but nothing to complain about. The food was great but abit expensive. The pool was lovely and the gardens are big and fun to explore

Everything was perfect except for the loadshedding. The electricity was off from about 10:30 pm till the morning about 7am so we were hot without the aircon and fan. It seems to be an ongoing thing in the area so the place should invest in equipment to make the guests more comfortable.

Better days of this place long gone. Photos misleading, property no longer well kept and has lost its charm. Sun lounger and pool area in disrepair. Generator also left to run out of diesel during outage meaning no power at departure. Beds uncomfortable. Extremely disappointing overall.
