Wonderful hotel and very welcoming staff. Our favorite place to stay on Isle of Skye. Location is magical and the food was top notch.

Lovely hotel in a superb setting. Dinner was very nice with the restaurant being used by residents and non-residents. Breakfast had a choice of dishes.

Pour 520 CHF la nuit je m’attends à une qualité nettement supérieure. Le service est extrêmement lent et pas remarquable pour un établissement qui se veut haut de gamme.

El personal del desayuno, que les falta bastante formación (te hacen esperar para sentarte en la mesa porque están consultando el móvil, risas/gritos/conversaciones en tono altísimo), seguro q con el tiempo mejoran).

quality of facility, cleanliness, view, restaurant and staff. the desk clerk loaned us a car phone charger while we were there and trusted that we would return it.

It was a bit pricey. Later in our visit we found even better accommodations 25 minutes outside Edinburgh for 1/3 the price. I recognize that the Isle of Skye is in demand, which made sense for the price.

The view

The staff is so rude and that for what you are paying its not fair. We got back to the hoyel at 9:05pm the kitchen stops serving at 9 and eventhough we were staying there they told us no more food and they were very rude, plus they add the service and tips in the bill? the price is definitely not worth it. If someone I know is going I wouldn’t recommend it at all maybe just for drinks Hate it very bad hotel experience

The hotel was in a lovely location with a great view of the bay. It's a short drive or slightly longer stroll into town. The staff as amazing, the rooms were comfortable and clean. and surprisingly the lobby bar is open 24/7, funky touch! No complaints, and highly recommend.

I found the room rates a bit steep, but I assume this is my own fault for booking late. There was a small malfunction in the room but the team rectified this immediately upon us pointing it out. No other complaints!

Beautiful and spacious w exceptional food and service. Views of Portree and the harbor are 2nd to none! Ella & Bonnie are outstanding ambassadors for the Cuillen Hotel!

Location, cuisine, bed quality and atmosphere

Very convenient location in the heart of Skye. Near the local town and on the lake. Food was excellent quality and sizeable portions.

We drove from Inverness to Edinburgh and noted that generally hotel prices are 20-40% more expensive than the equivalent quality in the UK.

The room was lovely. I especially liked the massive bed. The room had what we needed for 1 night. The breakfast was really good.

We had a very nicerloom and excellent breakfast. The staff was ready to help and when we left a paoir opf glasses behind, they found them and notified us.

The food and service was outstanding. The hotel property and view of the harbor was breathtaking.

I discovered that Booking.com added over 200 pounds to the price (by accident I went to hotel website directly) but was too late as I had already booked it. This diminished the value quite a bit as it’s a great place to stay, but not what I paid for it.

Great location, bed was very comfortable. Had no hot water at midnight, and the staff fixed the issue within the hour. Some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve interacted with anywhere in the world.

The view was absolutely spectacular. The staff went above and beyond. The whole experience was amazing.

We had requested a water view and our view on the first floor at the front of the hotel was spectacular and the location was spectacular.

it would be nice if there was more amentities such as a gymn etc . Breakfast offerings were not consistently great.

We loved the friendliness of the staff, the gorgeous views, the comfortable bed, and the cozy lounge. The restaurant was too notch.

The bathrooms are definitely on the older side, but we’re still plenty clean and functional.

The location was superb - incomparably beautiful views! Perfectly situated to all of the sights we wanted to explore and an easy walk into town. Our upgraded, water view room was spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts and dinners we had were delicious and always delivered with a friendly smile. That being said, the entire hotel staff was genuinely just the best!

Food was inconsistent

We stayed at Cuillin for 4 nights in the turret rooms (2). The moment we arrived the checkin process was flawless with dinner at 6 for 5 people. The dinner and breakfast was excellent as well as the service. They offered Highland Soap products in a convenient manner in case you forget to pick them up in Fort William. I think the best part was the ease to park a car. We did not have to fight and pay for parking! It is a 12 minute walk to downtown so it is not a big deal. I plan to return for a longer stay,

Our family recently stayed in two rooms and enjoyed two nights at the Cuillin Hills Hotel on our first trip to Scotland. We traveled for multiple days and stayed in five locations. Cuillin Hills was hands-down our favorite. The hotel is in an ideal location, within a short walk or ride from the town, but still tucked away enough to be peacefully quiet and offer stunning views. Both of our guest rooms were spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The mattress and bedding were top notch and provided a luxuriously comfortable sleep. The hotel also had a cozy common space, which my husband and I loved. Because of the fireplace that let off an earthy and sweet peat smell and the plush furniture, the space was a favorite among many hotel guests. The restaurant was high quality, and we enjoyed perfectly mixed cocktails, local Scottish whiskeys, and two outstanding dinners and breakfasts that were full of fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables. Despite all these excellent points, the brightest star of our stay was the phenomenal staff. From the reception desk, to the wait and bar staff, every interaction we had was welcoming and uplifting. The kindness and consideration shown to our family brought added joy to our time in the Highlands. We highly recommend the hotel for all types of guests, from solo trips to family events. Thank you for a perfect stay! Two days wasn’t long enough, and we hope to return!

The property is beautiful, elegant, clean and unique. It is a short, safe walk into town (5 minutes max). The breakfast was lovely and delicious with plenty of options for myself, my husband and 10 year old daughter. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet, the bed comfortable and the staff professional, competent, and friendly. I would love to go back. We paid about $100 for an extra bed for our daughter, was was surprisingly a lot, and the outdoor lights in the back garden area were very bright in our room at night even with the shades closed, but otherwise, this is a very, very special place on earth that I highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting. While this was exceptional, I would call this a perfectly executed and exceed all expectations 3 star hotel, or a modest 4 star hotel. That said, it is the best of the best.

The staff were delightful, observant and attentive. The food was wonderful with a superb selection. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of accommodation.

The staff at Cuillin Hills Hotel were superb. There were ready smiles and helpful suggestions for each of our questions. Newer staff were eager to please and more experienced staff were both effective and discreet in their guidance of their newer colleagues. The fire in the parlor fireplace was inviting and the views some of the most beautiful this traveling couple has enjoyed. Great attention to the details of interior spaces made the hotel both homey and professionally effective. Outside, the comfortable walk to the village was picturesque. We highly recommend the Cuillin Hills Hotel.

Albergo pazzesco in una posizione surreale per quanto bella!

We loved our stay but were disappointed that there was no offer of recompense regarding the day access to the hotel when the power was off. This ran over its time. Not a fault of the hotel of course but a complimentary drink or coffee at least would have been welcome to recognise the inconvenience to guests.

Dieses Hotel ist einfach ein absolutes Highlight und ein Muss für jeden Aufenthalt in Portree! Vom ersten Moment an fühlt man sich willkommen – das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgt dafür, dass es einem an nichts fehlt. Die Zimmer sind groß, wunderschön eingerichtet und bieten höchsten Komfort. Alles ist sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Das gesamte Hotel versprüht einen einzigartigen, romantischen Charme mit einem herrlichen schottischen Flair, der den Aufenthalt besonders macht. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die traumhafte Lage: mit einer tollen Aussicht, die den Aufenthalt unvergesslich macht. Hier kann man die Ruhe genießen und gleichzeitig die Umgebung perfekt erkunden. Das Frühstück ist einfach außergewöhnlich gut – frisch, vielfältig und qualitativ auf höchstem Niveau.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben ein Upgrade bekommen. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich und sauber. Das Hotel liegt erhöht mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Leider hatte es geregnet, sonst wäre es noch schöner gewesen. Parkplatz inklusive. Das Frühstück wurde am Tisch serviert, und man konnte aus einer Karte bestellen. Es war alles sehr lecker.. Besonders erwähnen möchte ich auch die sehr herzliche Bedienung beim Frühstück. Alle Mitarbeiter waren einfach sehr sehr freundlich. Toll! Wir wären gerne länger geblieben, aber da wir auf Rundreise waren, passte das nicht in unsere Planung.

Bella posizione, fuori dal centro con una bella vista. Camera calda, parcheggio gratuito e wifi veloce. Colazione a la carte con pietanze di ottima qualità.

All’arrivo non siamo stati aiutati con i bagagli, ci è stata indicata la via per la camera e ci siamo dovuti districare da soli in questo labirinto di corridoi e scale. Servizio alla colazione un po’ lento, personale un po’ disattento: ho chiesto se nella granola dello yogurt ci fossero le nocciole (sono intollerante), il cameriere mi ha risposto che era sicuro che non ci fossero, quando mi è arrivato il piatto invece c’erano eccome.

I can’t fault our stay at the Cuillin Hills, it was perfection from start to finish. The sun and blue skies just topped it off. An incredible stay - thank you Cuillin Hills.

Such a lovely hotel. Welcoming staff, but not fussing over you. Lovely building and well-kept, with comfortable lounge area and fire. Spectacular location & views. Big garden overlooking said views. Our evening meal was lovely and a wonderful breakfast too. Worth the extra £££ for a premium room. Very high spec, spacious & comfy. Huge power shower and bathroom area. Comfy bed & armchairs with stunning view. We hope to return.

When we arrived our room was ready. The lady at reception took us up and we were offered help with our bags. The room was beautiful, very clean and spacious. We had a lovely view with French doors and a juliet balcony. Staff were very polite and helpful and snacks in the bar were very nice. Breakfast was amazing cooked to order and very enjoyable. There was also a nice continental buffet.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We checked in and let them know we just got engaged, they immediately upgraded our room! The hotel is fabulous and the views are so beautiful!

Ausgezeichnetes Hotel, Zimmer, Anlage. Alles wunderschön. Das Essen (Morgen und Abend) war spitzenklasse! Wären gerne länger geblieben. Parkplatz direkt um das Hotel herum.

Came back here after 10 years for a trip for my partners 40th. Rooms have been done up since our last visit and definitely more modern, but still extremely comfortable. Staff were great, especially at the bar in the evenings - both the people over our three nights were knowledgable when we were sampling the many whiskies! Great location. Breakfast was fabulous - everything we had was great especially the eggs royale! Thank you for a special weekend!

The hotel was in a beautiful location 10 min walk into the town. The Rooms were big and the bed was so comfortable. It was so cozy and decorated beautifully. The staff were fantastic and the dinner and breakfast were amazing.

Best hotel I’ve stayed in all round. Staff are fabulous. Rooms are very comfortable especially the beds. Wish I had taken the name of the mattress. Lovely views whether garden or sea view. Food fantastic and outstanding breakfast. Really keen to go back.

Wonderful stay in a fabulous setting. Everything was first class and we can’t wait to return. The best meal of our trip was in the hotel.
