Prachtige ligging, fantastische gastvrouw, helpt je waar ze maar kan! Heerlijk zwembad en erg mooie en verzorgde accommodatie! Wordt keurig schoongemaakt. Goed uitgangspunt om heel veel leuke dingen te doen!

Niets op aan te merken.

Aangename locatie om met een gezin of groep te verblijven met een goede prijs/kwaliteits verhouding

The scenery surrounding De Poort Country lodge is really breathtaking, and it is so quiet and peaceful there. I would advise anyone who wants to visit Oudtshoorn to stay at De Poort Country Lodge. It is just a 10 Minute drive from De Poort Country Lodge to Oudtshoorn

Tout était parfait! Le lieu est magnifique, l’accueil est chaleureux, La piscine est belle, le jardin est soigné… Et les lits étaient moelleux. Un grand merci à nos hôtes !

Je komt aan en wordt direct verwelkomt door de gastvrouw, daarna kom je ik een klein paradijs terecht waar je volop kan genieten en toch dichtbij alles zit.

A true green gem surrounded by mountains and canyons. The place is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful pool, an incredibly comfortable bed, and exceptional cleanliness. Everything was perfect, but what really touched our hearts was Elna, the host — so kind, loving, and genuinely caring. An unforgettable stay. Wow.

Die Lage und die Gastgeberin waren hervorragend. Der Pool und die Sauberkeit sind ebenfalls positiv aufgefallen.

Das Abflussrohr macht Geräusche, wenn das Nachbarhaus duscht.

Alles het ontvangst van Elna echt een feestje en dan de omgeving en de accommodatie super mooi! Er wordt gezegd gedateerd maar het is maar net wat je wensen zijn wij vonden het echt een super fijn en mooi verblijf en bliven de volgende keer zeker langer

Prachtige locatie, supervriendelijke host met goede tips om de omgeving te ontdekken, en superleuk dat je kan braaien. Ik voelde me helemaal thuis!

Niks viel me tegen, maar het is goed om te weten dat de locatie best afgelegen zit. Wij vonden dat juist fijn voor 2 nachtjes.

Hier en daar wat gedateerd.

Die Gastgeberin war super herzlich, freundlich und hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Dass die Unterkunft in der Nähe der Cango Caves liegt, ist ein Plus. Wir haben die Outdoor Kitchen benutzt und auch draussen essen können, das war toll.

WLAN-Verbindung war nicht optimal.

Having two single beds.

Lovely arrival from Elna who met us in person and gave us a welcome glass of sherry whilst talking to us about some of her recommendations in the area. The location is beautiful - it felt very tranquil and relaxed. The pool area was lovely, it was a shame it wasn’t sunny enough during our stay to us to use it. The room was traditional, clean and well equipped. Liked the extra little treat of the rusks for breakfast!

Great experience. Beautiful and well kept gardens with pool make this a special place to relax in nature between the mountains.

Beautiful, spacious property surrounded by lush greenery, gorgeously landscaped pool garden, and mountain views. Choice of lovely spots to braai/bbq and the warmest welcome from our hosts. Perfect location for Cango caves.

The cozy little oasis is beautifully designed, and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The moment you pass through the lush driveway and enter the property, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Elna, the lovely host welcomed us with such kindness, immediately providing us with all the tips we needed for exploring the area. She even helped us out with a small request right away, which truly saved our stay. Elna embodies the essence of South African hospitality, the kind of person you’d love to have a friendly chat with. The rooms are cozy and perfectly equipped, complete with a small kitchen, making them an ideal setup.

Very traditional lodge, completely different from the modern places that we had been staying at. The host was wonderful and incredibly helpful, making suggestions and booking us into restaurants etc.

Lovely garden, hostess and room.

The best thing about the property is the hostess Elna. She and her husband run the place with a lot of love for hospitality. This is typically why we prefer a bed & breakfast/lodge type of place over a hotel. Apart from the warm welcome, Elna gave us some amazing information on the area and some sightseeing we could do. This made all the difference for our stay.

Very friendly and warm welcome by the owner with good recommendations for everything, we needed for our stay, activities, dinner, etc.

Elna was such a wonderful host, so accommodating and friendly. The sherry on arrival was very welcome;). The rooms had everything we needed and if there was anything else required she was more than happy to help. It was a lovely quiet spot at night. We loved our stay - even though it was short.

Beautiful location with wonderful grounds, on the road to Cango Caves. Unfortunately the weather did not play along for us to fully utilise the facilities (e.g. gorgeous pool). The children thoroughly enjoyed the secret garden, especially since the Easter Bunny visited! Owner is very knowledgeable about the area and gave some solid advice on what to see and how to spend time in the area. Our main focus was the KKNK this time - we will definitely consider a return!

The fact that there was no bath in the unit; however the shower experience made for more precious memories! :-)

Farm house living in the middle of the Karoo.

The surroundings are gorgeous and the pool area is super nice!! The host is very nice and super helpful! She gave us some great recommendations.

Our house was a bit cold and dark. But the wooden houses seemed very nice.

Pretty much everything. Well set-up, well maintained, clean, great hosts, good food, nice pool, good wifi.

The fact that the owners haven't cloned this place in all the other places we want to stay in future!

Very beautiful, serene, conveniently located, air-conditioned, lovely braai area fully kitted out, stayed in family cottage which was clean, comfortable, and had everything one needs.

Mosquitos, but the cottage has a net door which helps tremendously.

The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The self-catering cottage was clean, comfortable and catered to all our needs. The swimming pool and grounds were beautiful! Great location for seeing the local attractions.

The place is more beautiful in person than any internet images can offer. We had an excellent stay and only regret not staying longer due to our itinery. We almost dropped the next location in order to stay longer becuase our hosts were so good to us and we had such a comfortable stay in such a beautiful place that we never knew existed until a few months ago. If you want true South African hospitality, open air, beautiful flora and fauna, along with superb hosts and a fascinating hotel too, please come here.

it was a very pretty and comfortable stay. we only wish we could have stayed longer.

Very nice lodge with a great garden and pool Area, just next to the Caves and the Pass. The city is also not far away. We loved the restaurant next to it (the old mill). The host was super welcoming, explained everything. Great communication also beforehand for arrival. It was no problem to store the luggage earlier. The rooms were Cozy.

Internet connection in our room (3) was very poor.

Excellent stay. Friendly host. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you for the nice rusks!

Everything was just what we wanted for the weekend.

Elna was a lovely host, giving us a warm welcome and giving us a lot of information about the activities in the neighbourhood. Also provided a lot of options to cook our food.

Elna is such a warm host! Thank you for your personal touch and opening up your heart for us! De Poort Country Lodge is a bijou in the countryside, created with much love and attention to detail.

One could hear some distant noise from the road, but it wasn't very loud and did not disturb our sleep.
