Nice big bed room 18 carpet clean room smelt fresh. Breakfast was good and our granddaughter joined us one morning - she was very happy with breakfast selection

Air con was blowing cold air even when temp turned up we turned it off completely to feel comfortable

All the staff were extremely friendly and the room was very clean. Place had a nice feel to it! It was an ideal location for visiting the Business Park for the week.

Paying nearly £700 for a 5-night stay felt enough without having to pay an additional £15 per night for breakfast (I'm not on company expenses)...so opted to go to Lidl some mornings.

Great location for the wedding we were going to and lots of shops nearby. The rooms were comfy and clean.

Didn't bother us too much but the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and on its last legs!

The pub(freindly staff and sky sports), comfy beds, clean and tidy.

Rooms were good size

Weren’t told could use facilities of other hotels spa etc. also rooms needed a clean and hadn’t been hoovered for a while as my sons white socks showed this with dark hairs all over it, dust and nail clippings in the bathroom was also a giveaway.

Overnight stop before heading to Southampton for the boat. For the price we weren’t expecting much but the room was very comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed.

Unfortunately the pub food wasn’t as good but it was ok.

Clean, comfortable room & air-conditioning was extremely useful given the hot weather. Quirky decorations in corridors & bedroom - nice. Free & ample parking. Beautiful hanging baskets in the pretty garden despite no rain for weeks 😊

The cooked breakfast was ok just not the best. Some of it overcooked & mushrooms had gone cold.

The location was good having only a short walk into Whitely. It was very quiet & parking was good.

I was disappointed with the toiletries only having hand wash liquid & I think a shampoo where the label had come off & a small amount in the bottom. The plug in the sink was loose & the cover for the shower drain was also loose. The bed dipped into the middle so not very comfortable.

Very disappointing four-night stay at The Solent Lodge, Fareham. The initial room was unacceptable, with a stained and damaged carpet, stained chair and dirty teacups. I complained on the first day, but management initially refused to change the room. The gym experience was equally frustrating. After being allowed to use it on my first day, I was later turned away and told I would have to pay £45 per day, despite being a hotel guest. I found the explanation and the subsequent phone call extremely questionable. Thankfully, another member of staff at the main desk eventually changed my room and allowed me gym access for the rest of my stay. Overall, the poor cleanliness, inconsistent information and lack of courtesy from staff made this a very disappointing experience. I expected much better from a hotel and would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

There was a mix up over the room. I'd booked twin beds but it was a double bed. I misunderstood the receptionist and waited over 20 minutes while he asked the housekeeper to find another room whereas it turned out the housekeeper was converting ti from a double to a twin room. We were tired after our journey. It would have been nice to have been offered eg a free drink to make up for the inconvenience. I'm not blaming the receptionist, who was polite and helpful and trying to do 2 jobs at once.

Le cadre général et toute la structure sont impeccables. La chambre est confortable et le personnel gentil et serviable. Belle promenade possible alentour, de même qu'un énorme centre commercial joignable à pied en 10mn par la sortie dans le jardin de l'hôtel. Très commode pour visiter Portsmouth qui vaut absolument le détour.

Le petit déjeuner type "english breakfast" était bien, mais l'alternative "cold platter" était un peu léger.

Good location not a bad price for the 3 nights

Ridiculous barrier system in car park winding many motorists up as anpr was not up to scratch. Dirty tea cups on 2 occasions very poor.

A bit pricey for what you get . Overall just nothing special - just a room to stay for the night but other than that no facilities (other than the nice pub next door ).

Clean room, great size, good comfortable bed. We’ve stayed before. It’s a great place to stay and close to good amenities and shopping. Also close to the motorway though you can’t hear it at hotel, it’s lovely and quiet.

The cleanliness, the modern contemporary feel to the room, the friendly staff, the air conditioning, location. You cannot go wrong staying here, very pleasant staff and will definitely book to stay here again, highly recommended!

I am hard pushed to dislike anything to be honest, possibly the double bed being a little on the small side but nothing else really.

Hotel hallway carpet was full of stains, which made us question the hotel on our initial way to the room - not the best first impression.

The breakfasts that we upgraded to on our room were awful, considering how good the food looked at evening times it was a massive disappointment. The ‘cold breakfast’ was supposed to include cheeses, salami, ham, bread and pickles. The very most I got was a slice of ham, a massive pickle and a very small amount of cheese which wasn’t great. The english breakfast wasn’t much better with what tasted like powdered eggs. Not impressed at all

Fast and easy with a good selection of cereals.

Full English seemed to have been pre-made and pit under a heat lamp as only took 2-3mins to arrive at the table, eggs and sausage were over cooked.

I booked to stay one night, as was attending my niece and her husband's 30th Wedding Anniversary on the Saturday evening and night, and enjoyed my stay so much, that I booked to stay an extra day and left on the Monday morning!

I had a little wait when I first booked in, as my room wasn't ready at the required time, but the staff were extremely accommodating as they switched me to an alternative room, one which was ready!

The location! 30 minutes by car from everything: Portsmouth 30 min, Southampton 30 min, hiking around Queen Elizabeth Country Park 30 min, Jane Austen's house ... OK 40 min.

The room was a little run down, not dirty, just showing its age.

Room was clean but looked a little tired, marks on the wall and on the chair in the room. Overall we had a very good stay it was a comfortable room the staff were excellent! My only one quibble was the food at the pub next door for our evening meal was not very nice, I had Rissotto and you could have glued windows with it. The staff member that dealt with me over it was excellent and apologised to me and was absolutely brilliant! The rest of the food seemed ok according to our party.

Room was a good size and clean.No daily cleaning which isn't a problem except nowhere to collect tea, coffee, milk etc. Air conditioning but no instructions on how to set it up. Our room was quiet and the hotel is in a good location to visit the area. Fried breakfast size and quality varied on a daily basis.

Great hotel, nice design and nice staff

Light, clean and comfortable. My room would have been very wheelchair friendly. Pleasant pub restaurant next door with friendly staff.

The rooms were very modern, spacious with very comfortable furnishings. Very peaceful surroundings.

I enjoyed my stay very much so I had nothing to complain about.
