Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The staff went out of their way to make our stay an exceptional experience. Beforehand the communication was excellent. The breakfasts were great too.
Nothing.
Good location central to shopping, restaurants and key sites. Morning breakfast delivered was a very nice touch!
The steps :) but that is Lisbon!
La suite, le personnel si aimable et serviable, l’emplacement et le petit 🍳 Claudio at the reception was very very kind and helpful in all our stay 🙏😍
L’escalier qui est plus que 2 étages
Great location! Beautiful view! Extra special breakfast! Loved the historic building!
Would have liked to have been able to have wine in our room without a corkage fee.
We had an absolutely spectacular experience at Dear Lisbon – Palace Chiado. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was simply incredible. We have travelled throughout Europe and have never stayed in a hotel room this spacious. “Palatial” really is the best way to describe it — beautiful, elegant and extraordinarily comfortable. One of the absolute highlights is the breakfast served directly in your room on a beautiful golden cart. It is phenomenal and far beyond what we expected. The selection was incredible, with virtually every breakfast item you could want, both hot and cold. Having such an elaborate breakfast delivered and beautifully presented in your own room made each morning feel very special. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Nothing ever felt forced — they simply seemed to genuinely care about making our stay in Lisbon exceptional. When we needed some last-minute assistance arranging a rental car, the staff immediately stepped in and helped us work through the logistics. We also highly recommend taking advantage of the transfer service offered through the hotel. Although the transportation is provided by a third party, the entire experience felt seamless and integrated with the hotel. Everyone we dealt with seemed to share the same friendly, helpful approach. We were travelling as two couples, and all four of us came away saying the same thing: this was one of the highlights of our time in Lisbon. We honestly haven’t stopped talking about what a wonderful experience it was. Dear Lisbon – Palace Chiado is very highly recommended. We would stay here again without hesitation the next time we visit Lisbon. Truly exceptional.
Location, room and staff
Stairs with no elevator
Hotel is beautiful, location is superb, staff was amazing. I lost an earring and housekeeping took time to search in the vacuum cleaner and FOUND it. Forever grateful.
Breakfast was horrible, felt like food was reused and not hygienic. How it was served look amazing though, but looks can deceive.

The room was huge which was very nice
We scheduled a breakfast because all of the reviews say how amazing the breakfast was and we were leaving early at 7:30 and they said they would be more than happy to accommodate us with the same breakfast at that time. We went to check in and they said that they could not and they could provide us a breakfast for the night before. It was yogurt that was left overnight and a ham and cheese sandwich. SOOO disappointing. The staff ask was not accommodating
Beautiful, and great location!
Nothing, it was perfect!
Historical aspect of the ancient palace, antique furniture, large elegant spaces, massive windows opening to breathtaking sea views, watching sunrise while having breakfast brought to the room.
Unfortunately booked so fully that I was unable to extend my stay!
Breakfast delivered to the room was spectacular, the bed was very comfortable and the view of the Tagus River was amazing! The staff was wonderful and eager to help with any questions we had. The stairs were not a problem for us!!
The hotel is beautiful, breakfast was served in our room the breakfast was good and the location was perfect near everything we wanted to do and see. Most important was the friendly staff. Thanks for everything and the stairs that everybody complaints about, it did not bothered us at all.
Nothing
In the heart of the action, Palace Chiado is such a beautiful and comfortable oasis to escape to. Our room was stunning, breakfast was the best we ever had. Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive.
Prime Position in Chiado. Our room was large with a river view. Breakfast in the room was outstanding.
There was no lift in the property which was no problem for us. Some people may have issues with the stairs.
The room was as described-Palatial! Large room with two shuttered windows, everything was perfect. Comfortable big bed with coffee machine and everything we needed. Breakfast served in the room was superb.
Large rooms Clean Location was perfect
You could hear the noises from the street at night
The hotel pays homage to the Portuguese literary history of the city and our room was dedicated to Florabells Espanca, which we loved. The rooms are stunning because we were staying in a palace, it felt like royalty.
Breakfast quality, but still is was delivered to our room like royalty.
Melhor hospedagem de Portugal 💖
The room was very comfortable, large and had a wonderful view. The breakfast delivered to the room was also excellent.
No elevator but they were very helpful with the luggage and the view made it more than worth.
The location and the room were great. Spacious, clean room and the hotel was accessible to all areas. The staff were also super helpful.
Struttura molto bella autentica e curata
Amazing property! My room was large and airy - indeed felt like I was living in a palace. The staff were amazing and helpful, they even recommended a jazz show which so nice and a good day to slow down after a long day touring the city. The breakfast served in the room was the cherry on top. Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Europe. The experience was very unique.
The stairs were a bit much especially after a long day exploring roaming the endless hills of Lisbon however it was a great treat that I didn’t have to carry my luggage up and down. The hotel took care of it. Nevertheless the stairs are nothing compared to the exceptional experience.
Absolument rien !
Firstly the meet and greet was exceptional and friendly The room was spacious with lots of lovely extras The location was great for central activities The breakfast was fresh, healthy and abundant. The fresh coffee was also lovely served with hot milk
Nothing
Everything was great
House keeping was noisy in the morning.
The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building that is very centurally located to many restaurants and sites in Lisbon. Our room was large with big widows that overlooked Lisbon. Breakfast was served daily to the room. We had a very early flight and the staff was able to provide breakfast the night before and left in our room so we could eat the next morning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful!
We did not mind but there are many steps up to the rooms. As the building is historic, there is no elevator. The staff was very helpful with the bags
There is a private club on the first 2 floors of the hotel. The music they played in the middle of the night was so LOUD had to sleep with windows and shutters closed, earplugs + noice cancelling head phones on. Was still a challenge!
Just perfect (staff, room, breakfast, location).
Loved the room size and the fact we stayed in a palace. It was on a street but very quiet at night - but still close to the action
Beautifully restored 18th century palace
No elevator, but staff helped bring luggage up and down stairs
Stayed here twice on our trip, absolutely loved it, staff helped with the bags up the stairs, excellent breakfast, great location and huge and beautiful rooms!

Lovely cozy atmospheric hotel. Excellent location - a quiet street in the very center of the city. The hotel is located close to both major attractions and shopping streets. There are many good restaurants nearby. A five-minute walk away is A Brasileira, a historical and popular coffee shop that has been in business since 1905. Very spacious, tastefully furnished rooms, high ceilings. Good breakfast (served in the room). The hotel management helps with any questions. Many thanks to Andreia Mateus for her help in purchasing tickets for the concert and reserving seats in restaurants. A great hotel for good memories of Lisbon.

The rooms had gorgeous old-world charm and are styled beautifully.
I have no constructive feedback to offer, our stay was perfect.
Services personnalisés, petit déjeuner incroyable, chambre extraordinaire et localisation géniale.
Rien de cet endroit
I had a wonderful stay. The breakfast was delicious, and I really liked being able to enjoy it in my room. The building has a traditional charm, yet the facilities were excellent. The room was also very spacious. Above all, the staff were very kind, which made my stay extremely pleasant and comfortable. The Fado concert they recommended was also wonderful. They kindly booked it for me as a hotel guest, and thanks to that, I was given a great seat near the front. Listening to the performance in such a charming and atmospheric bar became a very special memory for me. When I come back to Lisbon next time, I will definitely stay here again.
Nothing.
Amazing and unique experience
All was beautiful
Excellent location only a few minures walk from the centre of Lisbon but set in a quiet street Fantastic room with lots of space which is hard to find in a city centre. Staff very helpful and friendly. There isnt a lift and there are stairs to get to the room but the staff helped with the luggage. Would recommend for a stay in Lisbon.
It wasnt a problem for us but as we were out early each morning we couldn't have the normal breakast as they only serve it in your room as from 7.45am and you have to book this early as the kitchen is small and they have to stagger the breakfasts. However they will leave a "snack" in your room the night before of sandwiches, yoghurt and juice which was enough for us.
Fantastic location Lovely room
The stairs!!!
Stunning room, wonderful breakfast brought to our room every day, on a trolley, full of delights! The team are all so friendly and proud of this glorious place. The property is situated in the busy downtown area, so you are instantly in the touristy area, but it is such a gorgeous place to stay, that is not an issue. You can soon be in quieter areas, and find backstreet restaurants and quirky places to shop and see. It’s a wonderful place to stay and next time we will get the even bigger suite, just for fun! We felt really looked after. Thank you to the whole team.
Nothing! For those who can’t manage stairs, it’s not the place for you, and if you like silence, be aware that some nights er could hear an amazing jazz band, or football being shown, ( we were there when World Cup footy was on) but they give you ear plugs and honestly, it’s in such a vibrant area, so you should expect this!
Great rooms, service and breakfast
No lift! Walked up a lot of stairs to rooms.
Taille des chambres , décoration
Les escaliers…rue un peu bruyante
This is an exquisite property in a great location. I had an eye problem while I was visiting and they were even able to recommend a specialized doctor in the area to help me. Breakfast is served in the room as room service. It was delightful..
The breakfast was delightful, we had an incredible view, the location in Chiado was perfect, but it was the staff that makes this hotel superior. It is hard to single one person out, but Claudio went the extra mile.
Café da manhã perfeito. Perto do todas as principais atrações turísticas de Lisboa. Quarto grande e confortável. Funcionários gentis e solícitos. Chuveiro muito bom.
The room was exceptionally spacious and elegant! We were greeted by special pastries and water in our room. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast delivered to our room every morning was a special treat. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was very close to the train station and sites. Loved our stay!
Everything was wonderful!
Location
Too much plumbing noise worse when throughout the night . Breakfast salad was not desirable at that time of day.
The whole experience was perfect.
Location, staff, breakfast. Caring knowledgeable.Nothing was too much trouble. The view from our room was breathtaking and eating breakfast while looking out of the windows will remain with us for ever
Nothing to report
It was historic, beautiful, great location in a really lovely neighborhood, clean, great appointments throughout the room.
Nothing!
We loved the ambiance , location , the views are also amazing . Super delicious breakfast 😋
Perfect location, nice breakfast
It’s an old building, thus, it is not sound proffered. If you have sleeping problems, it might be annoying since it is a busy area. It did affect us though
Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious with high ceilings and great Lisbon views. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with travel insights. The en suite breakfast buffet was a very nice touch. We appreciated the historical nature and art of the building. It is located in an area close to restaurants and transportation as well as city walks.
We had a lovely stay at Dear Lisbon - Palace Chiado in Lisbon. The hotel is full of character, set in a beautiful old building with gorgeous traditional décor and so many charming original features. Our room was spacious, comfortable and full of charm, and the whole place had such a warm boutique feel. The breakfast was superb, with a great selection each morning. Miguel and the team were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again on a future trip to Lisbon.
The only small downside is that there’s no lift, but that’s also part of the charm of staying in such a beautiful historic building. It also wasn’t really an issue as there was always someone happy to help with the suitcases.
The location was excellent. Within walking distance of good restaurants and shops. The hotel was lovely. Quiet, clean, with some nice statement pieces..furniture, rugs etc Breakfast was beautifully presented and arriving at the time requested. Lots of choice, and not too much of any one course. Staff super friendly and helpful. Quiet and courteous.
Location ! Service people ! Breakfast…room size and view (room #7)
People need to be aware that most of the rooms (9) are on the very high 2nd floor (in Portugal they call it First) and get up/down with suitcases may be a bit challenging.
Room was big - nice, comfortable.
They could not accommodate the included breakfast for us that we paid for in our stay. Never have i stayed somewhere that I've paid for the breakfast, but they couldn't accommodate us until 10am - we had a flight to catch. They accommodated everyone else. We were with them for one night - booked specifically for the breakfast! We had to go out and find our own breakfast in Lisbon which is surprisingly not an easy task. They have not adjusted the rate either, even though i have reached out. I wouldn't stay here again.
Great view & location of hotel. The bed was comfortable and loved the thick towels in the bathroom. It was a nice touch to be able to get an apple or a glass of wine as we walked into the hotel.
Liked having the breakfast served in our room, just wished there was an earlier breakfast option as we would have liked to get an earlier start some days.
Lugar, atención , limpieza y ubicación.
Le falta ascensor
The location, the staff and amenities were fantastic!
Nothing!
Only the facts, as many as the text limit allows, although there are many more: locked hotel doors upon arrival; only one staff member on site, more like a concierge than hotel reception; no lobby, hall, bar, restaurant, or proper reception desk; no elevator; guests must carry luggage up seven steep flights of stairs; “second floor” feels like the third or fourth floor in a modern building; breakfast only by exact prior reservation; no flexibility with breakfast time; very limited choice — only boiled or fried eggs offered; unclear where breakfast is prepared or how it is delivered; no soundproofing; loud city noise at night; terrible internet, barely two bars in parts of the room; bathroom is not separate, but part of the room; sink, toilet, and shower are along one wall with no door or screen; no privacy; no bidet or hygienic shower; sink badly clogged, filled with water immediately, drained very slowly; pipes made very loud disturbing noises; staff said this was “normal”; plumbing old, worn out, and unpleasant to use; visible mold around bathroom fixtures; damaged corners and baseboards; flies in the room; basic wall-mounted split AC; old TV and battered cabinet presented as minibar and flat-screen TV; huge bunch of keys guests must carry; guests must lock and unlock both the room and hotel entrance themselves; no staff on site at night from 11 PM to 8 AM, only emergency phone numbers; this does not feel safe or professional; I left after about 30 minutes, asked for a refund for the three paid nights, but my money was not refunded. This is absolutely not a 4-star hotel. While writing this review, I checked the Booking.com description. Later, it seemed updated, with three identical text blocks. It used to be different. I have been using Booking.com for many years. So you can imagine how disappointed I was when I reached out to Booking for help, and they did absolutely nothing to assist me. They didn't even bother to explain their silence. “Thanks,” Booking.
The room was spacious, extremely clean and beautiful!
The building was so beautiful and exquisite. The room was stunning and huge.
A legszuperebb szállás, ahol valaha jártam!
Nem tudok kifogást írni!
Amazing breakfast served in room. Great central location and warm accommodating staff.
A bit noisy, but it’s an old place in the central city so to be expected. No lift, so be prepared to climb at least 1 floor of steep stairs.
Charming room with with wonderful natural light and lots of space, kept in the original style of the palace rooms .Beautiful breakfast served in the room and a large modern bathroom. Attentive staff.
We had a room on the front street (entry) side which did not have the view to the river - you need to order the deluxe room both for the view and to maybe avoid the noise that comes from the street most of the night on Friday and Saturday - the windows are original glass and therefore not sound proof.
It was AWESOME! It is an old castle so it has a lot of historical pieces to it, and the room was huge! It had so much wonderful space and big windows giving wonderful light! The ceiling was plaster reliefs and gorgeous! The breakfast was magnificent and delivered fresh and hot to your room to enjoy! So much wonderful food and hospitality. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Great location, near tons of food, shopping, bars, and trains. It really was ideal and I am sorry my stay is over! Would definitely book again!
Nothing
Hotel staff made us feel exclusive by serving breakfast to room every day. The staff was friendly and handled airport transport and Fado tickets booking for us. The Chiado location was convenient.
Hotel didn't have elevator which might make challenges to older people.
Location and the hotel . Staff very helpful.
Room too small and noisy in the bathroom
Large comfortable rooms, great bathroom. Small number of rooms made it feel very special. And having breakfast brought each morning was such a treat. The staff, each one, was top notch.
Climbing the stairs to the rooms but you get used to it I also had a lot of street noise in room 2 and from the facility next door.
Its location
This property is perfectly located in the fashionable Chiado district - there’s lots of cool stuff around to do and you can walk to it, with just a couple of small hills, from the centre of Lisbon. The rooms are large and comfortable in a stately old house, which felt nice and unusual! Breakfast is delivered ensuite every morning and I was always excited to see what I got! Extremely friendly staff. Spotless room, comfortable bed.
It gets very loud at night - you will hear people out on the streets but there are earplugs in the room for you to use which help. This wasn’t a problem for me, but it’s almost 50 steps us to the first floor (more stairs for the second) just something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues.
Beautiful historical building but with the updated amenities within a central location.
Just they didn’t like you to bring your own alcohol or snacks into your room but equally didn’t have the facilities to offer their own beverages.
The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Lisbon. The room itself was beautiful, spacious and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was a real highlight. Each member of staff we met was attentive, welcoming and made our stay very special. I honestly really can't recommend this hotel enough!!
Nothing at all.
Fantastic property, rooms were beautifully appointed, large, yet comfortable. I was concerned about the lack of a lift but you’re in Lisbon…. You get used to the hills very quickly, a couple of stairs doesn’t phase me for such a beautiful room. Breakfast was exceptional! Just fantastic. The staff were the pinnacle of friendly and helpful. Whenever I am back in Lisboa, DL - Palace Chiado Suites will be my home
Loved the area, such a quaint hotel. The staff is exceptional. The breakfast in our room was so nice
L’emplacement central.
Lugar encantador, situación excepcional y personal muy agradable.
Thé breakfast was truly amazing. Super comfortable beds and the staff were amazing. The location is great! The staff truly are the stars!!
I prefer down and feather pillows and duvets. No elevators but we were aware of this in advance and the staff did all of the heavy lifting of luggage etc.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room is very clean, exceedingly spacious and well equipped. Location is great and breakfast is simply fabulous.
None
The room was exceptionally charming and clean and comfortable. We will book with Palace Chiado again and refer friends. The staff are extraordinarily kind and thoughtful as well knowledgeable. They are all 5 star!
The staff, the breakfasts, the location were all perfect!
The bed mattress was quite stiff (which isn’t kind after hiking the hills in Sintra and Lisbon) and the exterior walls were thin, we were woken up multiple times in the night.
Loved our 5 night stay in an enormous, characterful room with a street view. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and very efficient when providing helpful tips for a proposed itinerary. Our room was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the trolley service of an incredible, plentiful and varied breakfast each morning! This hotel is small, historic and very comfortable. Within minutes you can be eating in a very good restaurant or perusing the shelves of one of the oldest bookshops in the world!
Leaving... we'll hopefully return
