Great staff and clean

I had a wonderful stay at the Mac Resort Hotel in Koh Chang. The location was absolutely perfect, right on the beach, which made it super convenient and relaxing. The restaurant overlooking the beach was a real highlight, offering delicious meals and stunning views. The swimming pool was lovely as well, and the room itself was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed that made it easy to unwind.

On the flip side, there were a couple of things I wasn’t as fond of. Firstly, the bathroom could really use an update. The shower was in a bathtub that you had to climb into, which felt a bit cumbersome and outdated. Additionally, while many of the staff were friendly and welcoming, there were a few who seemed less enthusiastic, which affected the overall experience a bit.

Hyvä sijainti rannalla ja lähellä ravintoloita. Siisti pienehkö uima-allasalue. Ystävällinen henkilökunta.

Aamupala huono. Ruoka kylmää ja vaihtoehtoja vähän. Huoneissa oli kylpypyyhkeet, mutta ei käsipyyhkeitä. Huoneisiin kuului naapuribaarista joka ilta kovaäänistä musiikkia puolilleöin.

Проблемы решались сотрудниками с недовольными лицами. Изначально поселили нас в номере в глубине с видом на подсобные помещения и рядом с курилкой персонала. Но мы просить другой номер не стали, остались. Вечером сломался водонагреватель в душе. Сотрудники пришли посмотрели, починить не смогли, говорят - завтра. После переговоров, что вообще-то хотелось бы помыться, пустили помыться в соседний пустой номер (переселиться не предложили, но там работал плохо слив воды в душе). Когда стали ложиться спать, включился кондиционер другого номера на внешней стене нашего номера и стало невозможно спать. Он так дребезжал, будто спишь на заводе среди станков. Пошли опять на ресепшен - с недовольным видом дали ключи от номера с видом на море. Вид шикарный, впечатления немного портили только мелочи (не работал фен, была в клочья порвана штора). Завтрак тоже так себе - яйца в любом виде, неплохие фрукты, но вообще нет никаких овощей.

Hotel situato sulla strada principale direttamente sul mare, con colazione e pranzi da poter fare sulla spiaggia. Vicinissimo a negozi e ristoranti.

Fino alle 24 come in molti posti in Thailandia c'è musica a volume alto che si sente anche nelle camere.

Nice small hotel, convenient location. We had the small bungalow right on the beach which was Fabolous. Waking up to the view of the oceans and palms, and in the evening you can enjoy cozy lights in the trees on the beach.

Simple breakfast but good enough. Some noise from the beach bars next to the hotel on both sides, but it did not bother us..

Asukoht oli super, ranna keskel aga mitte väga kaugel sadamast. Personal oli väga abivalmis, sõbralik ja ülimalt viisakas. Hotell oli puhas ja korras. Hommikusöök oli hea, värske puuvilja valik iga päev, tellida sai munadest nii omletti kui munaputru kui härjasilma, vastavalt soovile.

Uselt WiFi- fungerade bara ibland, oftast inte alls. Fick besöka andra lokaliteter för att kunna koppla upp sig. Frukosten var ok, inte mer!

We had trouble with the rooms a/c and staff tried to fix issue even offering a different room Maybe to fix get inspected on a regular basis for a full wasdown and coil cleaner treatment ??

Food Rooms noisy next to Sabay Bar, but okay for the price

Traveled Thailand for over 30 years and unfortunately without doubt, Mac Resort has the most miserable, inhospitable staff I've encountered. One of the receptionists, shouldn't be the face of the hotel. She's the first thing you meet and boy, knows nothing about customer service. The breakfast? All items cold, even the things that should be hot. There are no heaters under the chaffing dishes. So rice cold. Curry cold. Fried Eggs cold. Sausages cold. The rooms are big, clean and bed comfortable. Good location too.

A great holiday destination, fairly quiet, and plenty around with great transport links to get about the island. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially if you made the effort with some Thai language. The room was clean and cleaned most days with constant refills of toilet rolls, water, and coffee. The pool was great, but with the option of the ocean too! Plenty of loungers to soak up the rays.

The staff were just lovely. The location is great...on a lovely beach. We enjoyed the live music from next door which always finished by midnight...bring earpluga if it might bother you

It's a bit dated- but a fair price and everyon's budget is recovering from Covid

Restaurant only Thai red curry with duck - wishy washy thin with WAY too much pineapple and just 2 small pieces of duck. Worst thai meal I have ever eaten. Service is decent, but food arrives sporadically — main, then starter then main There are better places to eat, either on the beach but would suggest on the main road and where the locals eat Avoid

Perfect location on the very beautiful beach, and the pool was really nice too. But that’s pretty much where it ends. The reception staff was very unhappy and didn’t smile during the entire stay. Same with breakfast staff. The buffet was limited to say the least, but Ok I guess, since you have all you need- except for good coffee! The rooms are old and very run down and we had no balcony. If you can live with old, dated rooms this place is ok to stay in, since location is so good. I found the grumpy staff to be the biggest problem with this hotel, and that is almost always a management problem. Take care of that, and you have an ok place!

The location, right on the beach & opposite Mini Mart for supplies. The breakfast and food overall was excellent. Constant supply of coffee and ‘Mook’ the general ‘Mama’ of the restaurant area, who was an absolute delight and a wealth of information. It will be a great loss to the resort when she retires to Chang Mai. The whole area goes to sleep by 12 so no loud music all night so you can sleep.

The pillows and our room 502 unfortunately did not have a balcony for drying wet swim wear, this could be rectified by having a bar or two across the end of the shower so they could drip dry down the drain instead of hanging over the shower itself and dripping over the floor

The staff lady on reception was wonderful in her helping me. My partner is blind and the staff were very helpful towards her.

Pool was nice

Hotel in general and especially the rooms are pretty old. There is some kind of weird window in the room which sepeates the bathroom from the sleeping room but it is really weird. Personel is not really welcoming and we really didnt like the sandy beach location aswell. Overall worst accommodation in our 3 weeks holiday

Alt var næsten perfekt, vi syntes måske bare. At det bar præg af at personalet var lidt slidt efter en hård sæson, hvilket også er forståeligt, vi bemærkede at de var på fra 9 om morgen til 23-24 om aftenen hver dag. Eneste negative ting at sige om dette sted er at når man skulle i receptionen, skulle man vente helt op til 15 min , før der var nogen eller spørge efter dem, dette oplevede vi 4 dage

Today I left Thailand where we stayed at Mac Resort Hotel Koh Chang, when I left I accidentally left my bag with my diamond ring, money and bank card. The hotel have found this for me and are keeping it safe until I can collect in 3 weeks. I am so grateful thanks Mac Resort Ko Chang. Thankful for honesty.

Breakfast little boring, too little options

air con did not really cool down, the ac was too small for the big room. I asked at reception to check but only the receptionist came up and stated its working well...A ventilation pipe was located 1m behind the balcony and made lots of noise, thus during the stay at balcony the noise was very annoying. The bathroom only had a bathtub with no holder for the shower hose, you had to hold the shower head in your hand, water hot/cold changing by itself. Otherwise, the room was spacious, had everything needed, fridge quiet and working well. In room no noise. WIFI in room was very bad and unstable. Too few lying beds at pool, all got 'reserved' by towels early in the morning, and rarely used, but remained occupied. All together not sufficient for the price - in February 24

Mac Resort is very old run down and and not well managed. It is in a good location on White Beach, The breakfast is very average and the staff not attentive. It is not worth paying full rates to stay at this hotel. We booked online without seeing the hotel and were very disappointed

Supernöjda! Hade balkong med havsutsikt vilket var så värt pengarna! Perfekt läge på stranden och sängarna fick fem plus mot hur det kan vara i Thailand. Trevlig personal och Mook hälsade oss alltid med ett leendenoch lite småprat till frukosten. Rekommenderar verkligen!

Needs modernising

We had a very good seaview room and the whole beach area near resort was very nice. Bed in room was comfortable and breakfast was ok. Only negative was animals in toilet and a little noisy air conditioning.

The resort complex is very tired, in need of an uplift the shower was diabolica. Staff and resort location 10/10 , the price is excellent, good clean bed and linen. Overall rating medium to good . The resort is placed well for daytime beach and night time beach activities.

Stunning location right on the beach. Pool is nice. Plenty of restaurants and tourist shops around. Recommend getting mopeds and touring around the island, and visiting the night market up the road for street food - it's great value (the local restaurants were more expensive).

Breakfasts could have been better - the food often was cold. Still yummy though.

The rooms was not great had to up grade because the view was looking at a roof then the upgrade was up and down alot! Of steps and quite awkward in places

Great location. Good Room (next to the pool, recommended). Good value for money comeratively. Quiet.

Some of the staff could be better trained. SOme also seemed very nonchalant and not very friendly. The bathroom even in the new rooms could need some renovation.

It was directly at the sea with a nice beach, nice barbecue and short connections to everything. Very fair prices for laundry.

We booked the deluxe room which is double as expensive as the standard one. Sadly the room had no real shower but just the bath tub without any possibility to really shower. We had to sit in it for showing. The standard rooms had a quiet ok shower instead. The aircon was weak. The hotel staff nearly did not understand anything, especially at dinner. Very much confusion with the paying.

A very nice place to chill out the evening! Beach bar is awesome and the staff super friendly .. smily .. easy going ! You can enjoy a fire show too.. eat on the beach for affordable prices some delicious seafood or fishes .. really a place we would recommend !

The service is superb. The location is fantastic. Hotel is just 10 meters away from the water in high tide. They have a super clean pool. Good tasting food and very attentive waiters on their Mac restaurant. Across the hotel is 7/11, several local restaurants available, Atm and money changers are in the vicinity. They have laundry service available for an affordable and reasonable price. The receptions became my son’s best friend. They are so friendly and very accommodating and helpful. 10/10 For sure we will go back to Mac Resort. 100% highly recommend.

Right in the heart of white sand beach, The room was comfortable and clean. The aircon was good once it settled. Shower was nice, but open windowed. Food was nice, reasonably priced.

Didnt have a room with a any view, was on the side of hotel. No safe in the room so had to hide valuables in other places. Shower was with a big window, so if staying with a friend or family, they would be able to see you shower fully as the window was below waist line

Nice location just in front of the beach. The swimmipol is nice too. The room was good size (travelling solo), free water bottles. Just in front of 7 eleven. Plenty of shops and restaurants around.

Wifi wasn’t good. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant. The window had view to a wall.

I am referring to their Beach bar...such edible array of foods, I had their basic chicken burger with salad n fries and my Thai partner had some of the the freshest n spicy seafood around. My small bottle( small important cos many aces will only serve you a large...) Was cold n served with with a cooler. So hard to find a place with a constant sea breeze, especially in humidity riddled Bangkok n surrounds. So noticeable even from just across the bay in Trat. Yesterday in Trat was 39c n the app said felt like 47c....!? This beach bar was a pleasant 32c with the breeze.worth trying if you are on Koh Chang.

The room was nice and clean.

The reception at the reception was under all criticism. And when I was checking out, I had to look for staff.

Tourism has certainly picked up since my last visit last year. I made table reservations for my small group for dinner at the Mac beach bar. At night you have the choice of tables undercover or on the beach. We dined undercover. Service was good. Everyone enjoyed their food at reasonable island prices. Entertainment was provided by way of a fire show and a live music band next door at Sabay beach bar. Good dining experience overall.

couple of cockroaches in the room. a few of the service staff were rude when we informed them that our bill was incorrect. also had no mini bar in the room so asked for some bottled water & was complete ignored.

The breakfast was value for money as it was included in our rate

I was allocated a very noisy room on the north side next to the kitchen of the next hotel. I had the same problem in December 2019
