The second floor room faced a busy intersection. For this reason, the window facing the street was fitted with a second set of sliding windows over the old set of double-hung windows. With both sets closed, noise was minimised. However, the room had no cooling by fan or ac. So, impossible to sleep with windows closed, or open due to street noise. Secondly, no fridge in the room. The hotel doesn’t offer room service so self catering required. But no way to keep it cool.

room was lovely, breakfast enjoyable and location was excellent.

Due to no air-conditioning, we did have a fan, It was very noisy when having to have the window opened so it wasn't stuffy.

We had a lovely room with a great view of The Hard, including the Spinnaker Tower and HMS Warrior. Our bed was really comfy. Breakfast was superb! Great to be able to park at the back of the hotel too. A very comfortable stay, we'll definitely return.

Location, staff, food, comfort all excellent. Room was clean.

In room 31 the toilet brush handle is just straight up not connected to the brush head, meaning you are out of luck if you need to use the brush. The front door is a little awkward to get a suitcase through.

Excellent location for Railway, Ferries and Harbourside. Deluxe king room. Very large and nicely furnished.

Carpet looked like a crime scene. Arrived at night and looked like blood on floor in various places. We actually didn’t want to walk on it in bare feet. Was informed in morning it was wine stained and wouldn’t come out. We weren’t convinced. Carpet needs replacing.

Proximity to the waterfront. Access to the carpark and disabled access was really good. Thank goodness for the fan in the room as it was a warm night. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast in the morning too. Highly recommend a stay.

The hotel was in a very nice spot, only took me 30 mins to walk to work. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. There was always someone there to let me in after my shift ended

Location was excellent, close to the museum and shopping mall, and restaurants ... all within walking distance. We also walked to the round tower on the southwest side. Staff was very friendly. Included breakfast was delicious at the hotel.

They handled my error of booking for one night when I thought I’d booked for two, extremely well. They’d called (I didn’t answer…too busy touring the museums next door), waited, finally packed up our two rooms-thoroughly and without missing an item!-and consulted us on where to go for our second night since their hotel was fully booked.

The overwhelming smell of seaweed beds from across the street and the 3 AM crashing of hundreds of beer bottles into the metal garbage bin from the bar two doors down. Plus no A/C and with only a small fan to cool us, all windows opened….

The location is great, near the quay and historic port and not too far from Victorious Festival. The staff were excellent, really helpful and friendly and we took advantage of the free parking on site.

I would say that the room was a but pricey but our stay was during the long August bank holiday weekend and Victorious Festival, so the whole town pas packed.

Location in Portsmouth was brilliant and had the parking around the back of the hotel.

It was not a very hot day/night but the room was hot. Had to have both windows open during the night, lovely view but very noisy with the taxi rank, bus station, railway station, one way system right outside the hotel. Had a fan but unfortunately that wasn't enough so didn't get much sleep.

A very good hotel for an overnight stay! The location is perfect, close to public transport and just a short walk from Gunwharf Quays. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which was a lovely bonus. Our room also had a great view of the dockyard and Spinnaker Tower.

The room felt a little dated and could use some renovation. With no air conditioning and only a small fan, it was quite uncomfortable during the summer. There were also lots of mirrors around the room, which I personally found a little unsettling at night.

Fantastic location on the waterfront.

I selected a sea view room, which it was, but with one tiny window, so it lacked ventilation in a very hot period and you had to stand at the window to get the view. I probably didn’t look into it properly

Sebbene di notte all'esterno c'erano 19 gradi in stanza era impossibile dormire per via del caldo (stanzina all'ultimo piano con una piccola finestra che si può solo aprire di qualche centimetro). C'è un ventilatore in stanza che però è molto rumoroso e non riesce a rinfrescare. Non abbiamo dormito quasi tutta la notte. Bagno vecchio con portasapone arrugginito. Struttura vecchiotta.

Een leuk hotel dat dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden zit in Portsmouth. Tegenover het bus- en het treinstation en de pont naar Isle of Wight. Beter kan niet. Prima kamers met goede bedden. De kamer wordt iedere dag opgeruimd. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden een prachtig uitzicht vanuit onze kamer op de haven.

Eigenlijk niets, maar er is geen airco op de kamer. Als het heel erg warm is buiten, dan heb je 's nachts alleen een waaier. Dan kan het warm zijn op de kamer. Het ontbijt is niet heel erg uitgebreid, maar was voor ons voldoende.

The property itself is not new and some areas could do with a quick refresh but overall the rooms and dining room were spotless, exactly as advertised, perfectly situated and the Staff, ably led by Dave, were fabulous. This was the second time my Wife and I have stayed at the Ship Leopard whilst in Portsmouth, for the annual Squadron Falklands reunion, and, although the room had an unusual configuration whereby a set of stairs needed to be descended around a corner in order to reach the bathroom, the room was exactly as we needed. One highlight was the breakfast. A good portion size of everything with no skimping which set us up perfectly for the day. The one thing the property could really do with, particularly during our visit in June and into the Summer months, is some form of adequate air conditioning. The room gets incredibly hot and the only cooling method is a fan and / or opening the windows. Overnight the latter really isn’t an option as city noise will prevent resting fully. That leaves the fan which really only pushes the already hot air around the room. Otherwise, excellent. 👏👏👏

On avait pris une petite chambre dpuble sous toit et même avec un ventilateur il y faisait très chaud en juillet.. Avons pris ensuite carrément la suite et là c'était royal!

We were given an upgraded room on our arrival which was a lovely surprise and made a genuine difference to our stay. It was lovely!

Amazing location! They kindly upgraded our room so we had a view of the spinnaker tower and The Warrior it was fantastic! Very comfortable bed, nice and clean with modern equip bathroom and very spacious! Furniture had a few dents and knocks but didn’t detract from our enjoyment. We attended a wedding at spinnaker tower so returned late but the night porter let us in no problem. Breakfast was full English and delicious. Plus there were choices of fruit croissants etc and toast jam/ marmalade. The only thing that let the room down was the carpet which was once perhaps purple but had faded into a grey! Staff were all very good tho! And free car park on site limited spaces

Location you couldn't get better. Next to Historic dock yard ,shops, pubs, fish & chip shop, and train station if needed. 25 minutes walk to Southsea . Has its own car park. We had room 24 which is a large room on the second floor on the front. Great views of HMS Warrior. Comfortable bed , lovely shower. Could be busy at night into the early hours but it didn't bother me personally I loved the room. We had a lovely breakfast served by the friendly staff. Atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We will return to this hotel and room.

The exceedingly warm welcome. The excellent breakfast. The exceptional check out experience. The view of HMS Victory from my room. The proximity of the hotel to railway station - one minute’s walk away and the Wightlink Ferry Terminal four minutes walk through the railway station and down a slope (no steps) to Ferry Terminal. Excellent!

Wardrobe kept bouncing open but that didn’t alter the fact I really loved my stay.

I'd give them 6* if I could. Great location for Historic Naval Dockyard, Gosport Ferry, Isle of Wight Ferry, Train Station and Bus Station, and Gunwharf Quay. Free private parking. Fabulous decor especially the de luxe King Suite, room 15 Views over HMS Warrior worth the extra. Breakfast cooked to order and fresh. Great friendly welcome and lovely staff. Just brilliant.

The windows had been left open so that when we arrived the rooms were comfortable. The staff were both pleasant and helpful. The short trip fully met our hopes; even the temperature was more bearable than the London we had left!

Loved the location which was close to Portsmouth Harbour train station and the historic dockyard, with lovely views across the harbour and HMS Warrior. The cooked breakfast was excellent with a good selection of food and everything cooked to order. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. If I really wanted to be picky I could mention that my room was hot, but you can't blame the hotel for the high temperatures the UK was experiencing at the time I stayed! The age of the hotel means that there is no air conditioning, fans were provided and these helped.

Perfecte locatie aan het water voor bezoek van de HMS Warrior, Victory en Mary Rose. Ontbijt was prima mits je niet te vroeg komt want dan is er nog geen personeel wat eieren maakt en is er alleen continental breakfast. Parkeren op eigen terrein achter het hotel.
