Hotel was unexpectedly great, staff was awesome
The position of the a/c but thats just my thoughts
I want to specifically recognize Brian and Kevin at the front desk of the Avalon Hotel in St. Petersburg for providing truly exceptional customer service. We unfortunately had an issue with our room having a noticeable mildew smell. While situations like this can easily put a damper on a hotel stay, Brian and Kevin completely changed the experience through the way they handled it. They were incredibly professional, understanding, attentive, and genuinely concerned about making sure we were taken care of. What impressed us most was that neither of them treated our concern like an inconvenience. They listened, took the issue seriously, and immediately focused on finding a solution. Their attitude and level of hospitality were exactly what you hope to receive when something doesn't go as planned. A hotel can have beautiful rooms and great amenities, but the people are ultimately what determine whether you want to return. Brian and Kevin are the kind of employees who create loyal guests. Because of the way they treated us, an issue that could have resulted in a negative experience instead became a reason to speak highly of the Avalon. Management should be extremely proud to have Brian and Kevin representing this hotel. Their professionalism, kindness, and commitment to their guests deserve recognition. Thank you both for going above and beyond. Five stars for Brian and Kevin — without hesitation.
The suite was spacious and the pool area and bar were great.
We could hear the people above us moving around a lot. The shower had very low water pressure. The couch in the living room was very uncomfortable to sleep on.
The king bed was super comfortable and the air conditioned room had all the amenities you could need. It had a fridge and microwave, full pot coffee maker, and a 2 burner stove. Also pots and pans and cups and plates. A large tv completed the studio. There were sliding glass doors that opened to a private fenced in courtyard with table and 2 chairs. It's quaint and charming.

Location was excellent. Walking distance to everything! The free water bottles in the lobby were a nice touch. Great patio area. Loved the hanging sound machines there as well. Loved the Rituals bath products!
The hotel was not like the pictures. Seems like a bit of an older hotel that they cosmetically updated, but still has older hotel bones. Eg saw a giant duct taped contraption in the closet I think was connected to the HVAC. Room small - like a Paris sized hotel. Not much space to put things down and no outlets. Had to move bed to find one deep underneath it. HVAC system had a lot of black mold in it and was kind of 50-50. Room had a lot of musty smell, indicating possible mildew as well. Parking was fine if it wasn't busy, but when it got busy, almost impossible to find a spot and was like a giant dirt field, felt a little unsafe to park our car there.
The Avalon is a beautiful hotel, great location, clean, safe, and the staff is phenomenal!
Location, shared facilities with The Hollander, the shuttle
Room AC was inadequate
me and my husband stayed at the avalon last friday and we had the best night ever larissa and natalie were incredible at check in made us feel so welcome and gave great recommendations. the place is such a cool environment and everyone was so nice! cannot wait to be back!
Natalie was so helpful, gave great recommendations for sightseeing.
The eclectic atmosphere and the customer service
The small rooms and bathroom
Location to the baseball park
It was not very clean, there was a roach about 2-3 inches long in our bedroom the first night, there was no ventilation in the bathroom whatsoever and the toilet was about 5 inches away grom the wall in front of it
The entrance was very inviting, there was a patio with chairs, tables, fans and decor. The lobby was so nice. The check in clerk was nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a sister hotel across the walkway where you are free to use their amenities and they have a restaurant and bar that was nice.

Coffee and cookies in morning, drinks offered in evening, water bottles on hand, can use amenities next door, shuttle to downtown
Room was old, small, dark, and musty. In wall a/c very loud, curtains did not block light
This hotel was adorable very clean excellent food and the staff were fantastic. Definitely would come back. Nice pool area at their sister location next door.
Parking can be a challenge, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Larissa. I would definitely stay here again. Centrally located in downtown St Pete
The room was cozy
Beautiful
Upgraded to a suite! Incredible effort to make sure I had the best experience possible. Just incredible!
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
This a very trendy (hip) vibe hotel. The charm of the buildings age from 1930 spoke for itself. The room was comfortably set up with a king bed. Yes the bathroom is a bit small, but I wanted to spend my time in town sightseeing nit in my room. And after a long day I spent time on the open air front patio and relaxed and people watched. Great music playing. Parking my car was convenient in the private lot. I spent time at the Hollander hotel, bar, and restaurant next door having drinks and dinner, then went back to the Hollander in the morning and had a coffee drink and and apple cinnamon apple stuffed muffin.
The only drawback I felt was in the morning. There was not a "breakfast" item to get. Coffee and tea were served, and there was a platter of cookies. I would have better enjoyed a granola bar or piece of fruit.
Brian at front desk set the tone for an absolutely flawless overnight stay! Everything from the immaculate, well appointed suite, to the beautiful swimming pool and Tiki bar everything was perfect! Absolutely no reason to drive all the way to South Beach when I can stay at the Avalon/Hollander Hotel in St. Petersburg! Been coming for years…gets better every time! Keep up the great work, guys!
The property well maintained and organized.
The bathroom is small for a big person.
The staff was nice and friendly. The front desk accommodated me checking in an hour early. The place was a clean, intimate, boutique kind of hotel.
With the wooden floor on the first floor, I could hear every person walking by. It was pretty loud. No refrigerator In the room. The entire room was really small and so was the bathroom, it was super small that the toilet was behind the bathroom door… pretty awkward.
The Avalon never disappoints. The property is amazing and so convenient to anything and everything you would need. The staff treats you like family. Will is the host with the most~ the love and attention he pays to his visitors and employees is so heartfelt and thoughtful. By far my favorite hotel and it makes the St Pete adventurous even that much more enjoyable. 💗
Preis/Leistung stimmen. Im Hotel gab es zwar kein Frühstück, aber in der näheren Umgebung gibt es genug Möglichkeiten. Die Lage ist super und das Personal nett.
Das Badezimmer war ziemlich eng, aber ansonsten top.
The location was great. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and quiet.
Everything was great.
The location is amazing and access to the neighboring hotel's pool (sister hotel) is nice a it has a lovely pool area and a nice bar/restaurant as well. The staff was very helpful and they had complimentary prosecco in the lobby for some hours in the evening which was great!
The rooms are a bit dated in terms of the suites. It's not the furnishings themselves as they are new and stylish, but the baseboards, doors, tile and such in the bathroom. It all feels like it's on it's twelfth coat of paint.
Great location, friendly staff and free parking

All ok
Lovely old building. Kevin the doorman was great with local knowledge. Also the 5-7 free wine is a nice touch.
Super Lage, nettes Personal
Fun girls weekend. If you’re in downtown St Pete Avalon and Hollander hotel is where you want to be. Great experience with some of the best staff. Ethan and Larissa were wonderful and gave us great tips on things to do and places to. Food at the Tap Room was amazing and the pool was great.
We did have a nice time little old small bath. Love the bar and restaurant next door.
Small bath and smelled musty.
Locatie, gratis parkeerplek en vlakbij gratis ouderwetse toeristen bus (looper) die een ronde maakt in de stad.
Slaapbank (voor derde persoon) kraakte.
Great location. Staff were helpful with navigating environment. Rooms were a great price, clean, and comfortable. Loved the Tap Room for cocktails, fabulous food, and attentive servers!

The Avalon's location is one of its strong points along with its large outdoor covered porch with plenty of seating & shade. Right next door to the Avalon is the Hollander Hotel. The Hollander also has a covered front porch; and a restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks. There is also a full service bar. We had some difficulty with our a/c unit; the first one froze. I think that's also what happened to the 2nd unit. Since we were in St Petersburg to celebrate our granddaughter's graduation from high school, we spent very little time in our suite other than sleeping. We left early in the morning & didn't return until 8PM & sometimes much later. So we would return to a hot suite when all we wanted to do is take a shower & go to sleep. I must say the staff did their best to make us comfortable; even purchasing a fan so we had 2 floor fans & 1 ceiling fan on one night just to be able to sleep. We spoke to the the General Manager who refunded our money for our stay; we requested one night's refund since we left one day earlier than our reservation. He concluded that he should give us a full refund for our troubles. Yes, we definitely would stay here again even with our experience explained above. This was our 5th time staying here & our 1st time having any problems at all.
The hollander Hotel next-door with the pool and tap room bar and Resturant
Liked the staff, water access, and coffee shop nearby.
pull out couch was terrible and old looking mattress. King bed was very hard. Room does smell stuffy/old but it is an old building. stove is terrible to have buttons that accidentally turn on....should be lock on it. Calamari used to be the best in the whole world but now it's standard and nothing impressive. Waiter asked chef and he said the supply is no longer available. I had for 3+ years the calamari but no more...so sad :(
Rooms were fresh and clean! Staff is excellent!! Clean facility, great location
More room outlets.
Cleanliness, staff was great

The Avalon is a great place to vibe in St. Pete, me and my friends stayed there this past week and let me tell you, it was all love! First let me say love the fact they have a wine and champagne happy hour ..very cool. Trasha came over to help another desk agent out and she was so attentive and funny she poured wine and champagne while telling us all the things to do in the area , well recommended 4th Street Shrimp Store was delicious!!!! We will be back !!! Thx again!!!
Rooms are very comfortable. Nice mattress and pillows. Location is fantistic for walking everywhere in downtown St. Pete.
None. Have stayed here a few times and it's great!
When staying at the Avalon when we walked the the lobby was so beautiful and chic, we were greeted briefly by Trisha I think she was working at the Hollander, but she made sure we got in and settled, Natalie checked us in and she was also great! Love the Happy Hour wine and champagne that’s a great perk! The cookies and the coffee are so good.. This hotel experience was a magnificent one and will tell all my friends about it…. Thanks to all of you it was a good time!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Super comfy and immaculately clean room. I also appreciated the complimentary shuttle.
Location
No smart tvs in rooms
I was very impressed with this boutique hotel’s fabulous location! The rooms have full kitchens! Plus the customer service that Larissa gave was truly outstanding!!! I definitely will return to this hotel!!!
Location is super convenient to bars, shops and restaurants. The rooms do not have smart tvs but that was an easy fix by having a fire stick delivered. But the staff, especially Ethan (Etta), made my birthday trip amazing! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area which in turn lead to wonderful food and things to do. This was my first time to the area let alone this hotel but will most definitely be back!!
Decor was great. Bathroom is small, but sufficient. Patio was ok. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Coffee in the am and wine in the afternoon. Pool was beautiful and bar and restaurant very good! We walked to parks, beach, museums, restaurants and shuffleboard club! Lots to do!
It was clean and the decor was so beautiful! The staff were all very friendly and the complimentary water bottles are a plus!
Location to centre
Room we had on first night very noisy close to road and stuffy
Great room with a great location
This place is AMAZING! Larissa and Ethan (Etta) are insanely amazing! They single handedly made our stay priceless. The amenities (next door) and the room, and the personal service is like no other. If you're planning a trip to St. Petersburg, you HAVE to stay here!
Clean
Low key
Great location, access to all the amenities at the Hollander next door, room was small but cozy and comfortable, nice covered sitting area out front, plentiful free bottled water
Hard to find a parking spot, although parking was free
Stayed at the avalon last week for a wedding and was so happy with my stay we had no idea it was there and such a happy surprise, the staff were so incredible and accommodating, it was a huge help with recommendations! Can’t wait to come back
Had the best time this week!! Everything about the stay was awesome all around but the one thing I noticed that stuck out to me and my friends was the hospitality and just overall helpfulness of Natalie and Brian. Super attentive and on their game we will def be back to see them soon!!
Would stay again, for sure, might try sister hotel (Hollander) just to compare. Charming, artsy lobbies and other spaces in both hotels; staff is always available and friendly; parking - super convenient and free; pool - smallish but attractive with fountains and ledge seating, plenty of poolside seating, both shaded and unshaded, pool bar, and lots of towels always available. The restaurant, Tap Room, is very convenient and offers inside and outside Patio (with street view) dining and a bakery area with cakes, muffins, and coffee that is nice for mornings or after dinner treat to take to your room. From the hotel it is not a far walk to the Pier area (maybe 15 - 20 minutes) and there is a trolley stop across street from the hotel if you prefer. Our room was fine - it was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the AC worked well, and we slept well. It was though, imo, a little dark and could have used a floor lamp behind the armchair. Also, another painting or artwork on one of the blank walls would go a long way, again imo, to match the room’s “ambiance” to the rest of the hotels’ vibe (in the lobbies, patios, pool, and halls). Note: our room did not have a refrigerator - if that’s important to you, you need to ask about that because I think some rooms do.
Die Lage. Sehr Zentral.
Zimmergröße nicht wie angegeben. Die Dusche war leicht undicht. Toilettenbürste fehlte. Zimmer war kleiner als die angegebenen 27m2.
The location was awesome! Love the vintage feel it had!
The AC was a bit loud
Très bon emplacement pour se balader dans la ville Hôtel ancien rénové avec du charme
Place de parking inexistante la nuit , très compliqué de se stationner malgré le pass fourni par l’hôtel
Great location, clean, and fun atmosphere.
Staff
Room very small. Layout of bathroom was cramped and inconvenient. No outside view other than a wall from next building over.
Easy check in and nice room on second floor. Bottles of water on the front desk counter and coffee and cookies at breakfast time. Good AC but it’s directed straight at the bed so had to sleep in a draft. Good TV channel choices and decent shower.
The car park was full when I arrived at around 15:30 so I parked on a nearby street. Old building on 3 floors and just one slow elevator.
ENTIRE STAFF..
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I give them 5 stars.
Thr lobby was nice but once you got upstairs it was very disappointing. Very outdated and the carpet was nasty. The carpet had to have been there for at least 20 years. I wouldn't walk on it without shoes. The shower was a little bit dangerous. It was slippery when stepping into it and at had a slop to it. I felt like I was gonna fall. The doors lock but it could use a safety latch. It did not feel very safe. On a good note, it was very convenient to walk downtown with the shops and restaurant and the pier.
